Eva Stover
OAKWOOD - Eva Louise Stover, 92, Oakwood, died at 11:40 a.m. Monday in Leisure Oaks Convalescent Center, Defiance.
She was born July 6, 1908, in Illinois, the daughter of William and Luella (Staples) Bauer. In 1928, she married Edwin Stover, who died in 1971. She was a graduate of Defiance College and Bowling Green State University and a teacher at Oakwood Elementary School, retiring after 25 years.
Surviving are two sons, Richard of Drummond, Mont., and Roger, Continental; four daughters, Lois Bidlack of Coarsegold, Calif., Joanne Diamond of Defiance and Anna Lee Adams and Susie Thrasher, both of Oakwood; a brother, Clarence Bauer, Cocoa Beach, Fla.; and 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were two brothers, Russel and Robert Bauer; and an infant grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Oakwood, with Rev. Billie Jean Melton officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Oakwood. Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Preferred memorials are to Paulding County Visiting Nurses or a charity of the donor's choice.

Marion Elson
OAKWOOD - Marion Daniel Elson, 78, Oakwood, died at 10:35 a.m. Sunday in Toledo Hospital.
He was born Feb. 4, 1922, in Webster, the son of Thomas and Mina (Cool) Elson. In 1945, he married Marie Melia, who died in October. He was a laborer at GM Powertrain, Defiance, retiring in 1985 after 35 years, worked on the railroad and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and was a member of UAW Local 211, Defiance's Moose Lodge 2094, Union City's Eagles aerie, AMVETS Post 1991 in Defiance and Hartsburg United Methodist Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher.
Surviving are two sons, Robert of Defiance and Donald, Omaha, Neb.; two daughters, Rose Tadsen of Defiance and Donna Cline, Union City; four brothers, John of Versailles, Russell and Lawrence, both of Greenville, and Erie, Fort Recovery; a sister, Betty Hittle, Celina; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Kenneth and Perry; and a sister, Ester.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Continental, with Rev. Kay Wilcox officiating. Burial will be in North Mt. Zion Cemetery, Continental. Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and after 10 a.m. Thursday.
Preferred memorials are to a charity of the donor's choice.

Viola Haines
BERNE, Ind. - Viola G. Haines, 91, Berne, Ind. died at 6:30 a.m. Monday in Swiss Village, Berne.
She was born Feb. 21, 1909, in Adams County, the daughter of John and Nellie (Cummings) Lusk. In 1928, she married Virgil Haines, who died in 1967. She was a homemaker and a member of Church of Christ, Domestic.
Surviving are a son, Ralph, St. Joe; two daughters, Lois of Fort Wayne and Mrs. Daniel (Janis) Bakle, Defiance; a stepsister, Frances Biery, Geneva; and 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were two sons, Lee and Roger; a daughter, Twyla; a brother, Russell Lusk; two sisters, Lenora Goodman and Esther Martin; and a stepbrother, John Mason.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Swiss Village Chapel with Rev. Dal Fosnaugh and Chaplain Anita Rediger officiating. Burial will be in MRE Cemetery, Berne. Visitation is from 3-8 p.m. today at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home, Berne, and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the chapel.
Preferred memorials are to Swiss Village, Woodburn Children's Home or the church.

Larry Bost
NAPOLEON - Larry J. Bost, 45, Napoleon, died Monday morning in his home.
He was born April 18, 1955, in Napoleon, the son of Donald Sr. and Margaret (Clausen) Bost. He was formerly an auto mechanic at Wal-Mart, Napoleon, and a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Holgate.
Surviving are his mother, Napoleon; three brothers, William of Napoleon, Tony of Deep Run, N.C., and Steven, Green Bay, Wis.; four half brothers, Don Jr. and David, both of Napoleon, Paul of Celina and Joe, Defiance; and three half sisters, Mrs. Roy (Rose) Glass of Napoleon, Mrs. Abe (Marge) Tussinger of Liberty Center and Mrs. Don (Jeanette) Banks, Montpelier.
Preceding him in death was his father.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, with Rev. Martha Crookham officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday.
Preferred memorials are to American Kidney Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.

Edgar Wagner
Edgar L. Wagner, 81, Defiance, died Tuesday in his home.
He was born Dec. 8, 1919, in Putnam County, the son of Oscar and Leafy (Daub) Wagner. In 1940, he married Ethel Hoover, who survives. He was a farmer and a member of First Church of Christ, Sharon Grange in Continental and Ottawa VFW post. He was a U.S. Army staff sergeant during World War II, earning the Purple Heart.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ray (Katherine) Miller and Mrs. Richard (Linda) March, both of Defiance; two sons, Carl, of Higganum, Conn., and Gary, Columbia City, Ind.; a brother, Chester, Continental; and eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, Ivan and Gaylon.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Revs. Bill Davis and Bryan Maxey officiating. Burial will be in Monroe Cemetery, Continental, with graveside military rites accorded by VFW Post 3360. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Thursday.
Preferred memorials are to a charity of the donor's choice.

Pearl Rose
Pearl M. Rose, 88, Defiance, died at 11:16 a.m. Tuesday in Defiance Hospital.
She was born Aug. 19, 1912, in Defiance County, the daughter of Nathan and Tracy (Stuckey) Rath. In 1935, she married Ralph Rose, who died in 1964. She was a homemaker.
Surviving is a sister, Mrs. James (Anna) Dalton Sr., Ney.
Also preceding her in death were four brothers, Martin Bayliss, Wade and Guy Rath and one in infancy; and two sisters, Mary Dunlap and Helen Hahn.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas Nolt officiating. Burial will be in Ney Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Thursday.
Preferred memorials are to a charity of the donor's choice.

Jerry Huber
NAPOLEON - Jerry Lynn Huber, 50, Napoleon, died Monday in Henry County Hospital, Napoleon, after an apparent heart attack.
He was born Aug. 8, 1950, in Napoleon, the son of Lauvaughn and Lois (Miller) Huber. In 1984, he married Karen Fischer, who survives. A graduate of Bowling Green State University, he worked at Huston's Launderers and Cleaners in Napoleon for 21 years and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, McClure.
Also surviving are his mother, Napoleon; a brother, Larry, Napoleon; and three sisters, Mrs. Stanley (Peggy) Herman of Napoleon, Mrs. Peter (Becky) Kellum of Cambridge and Mrs. Joseph (Kathy) Schenkel, Fort Wayne.
Preceding him in death were his father; and grandparents, Otto and Mollie Miller and Edward and Minnie Huber.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Okolona, with Rev. Rob Vereb officiating. Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home, Napoleon, and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
Preferred memorials are to American Heart Association, Bethlehem Lutheran Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
