Melvin Coressel
Melvin J. Coressel, 61, Defiance, died Friday in his home.
He was born Dec. 19, 1938, in Defiance, the son of Aloysius and Agnes (Hurtt) Coressel. He was a retired machine operator from Defiance Precision Products, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Defiance AMVETS Post 1991 and Hicksville Eagles aerie.
Surviving are a son, John, Continental; a daughter, Mrs. John (Rita) Richards Jr., Sherwood; two brothers, Paul and Robert, both of Defiance; five sisters, Geraldine Gutman, Marilyn Mack, Nina Mayes and Theresa Speiser, all of Defiance, and Jeannie Pessefall, Sherwood; and two grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Brunersburg Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday. AMVETS Post 1991 will conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m. Monday.
Preferred memorials are to a charity of the donor's choice.

Rosa Noll
Rosa E. Noll, 90, Defiance, died at 3:25 p.m. Friday in Leisure Oaks Convalescent Center.
She was born June 23, 1910, in Caldwell, the daughter of George and Eva (Heil) Gerst. In 1931, she married Clyde Noll, who died in 1993. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Surviving are a son, Dale, Knoxville, Tenn.; a daughter, Darlene Schimmoller, Defiance; a sister, Eulalia Wiley, Minneapolis; and seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Donald; a brother, Ephriam Gerst; a sister, Anna Haren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church with Rev. Tim Kummerer officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation is from 3-5 and 7-8:30 p.m. Monday at Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home, with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m.
Preferred donations are to St. Mary's Catholic School development fund.

Luella Roehrs
Luella F. Roehrs, 85, Defiance, died at 11:14 a.m. Friday in Defiance Hospital.
She was born Feb. 8, 1915, in Fort Wayne, the daughter of Frank and Luella (Smith) Gerding. In 1941, she married Irvin Roehrs, who survives. She was a homemaker, a member of St. John Lutheran Church and a life member of its Ladies' Aide and Jolly Mixer.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Judith) Kunnes of Cincinnati and Nanette Wilson, Minneapolis; two sons, William of Defiance and Michael, Bowling Green; a sister, Mrs. Victor (Mary Jane) Behrmann, Indianapolis; and four grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were three sisters, Betty Ann Handschy, Virginia Cullen and Helen Gerding.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church with Rev. Donald Luhring officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Preferred memorials are to the church, Defiance Public Library or Rest and Recuperation.

Evelyn Dowell
HICKSVILLE - Evelyn F. Dowell, 82, Hicksville, died at 6:34 p.m. Thursday in Hicksville's Community Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 7, 1918, in Hicksville, the daughter of Forrest and Ella (Roan) Monroe. In 1942, she married Robert Dowell Sr., who died in 1991. She and her husband owned and operated Dowell Grocery Store, Hicksville, for many years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Hicksville, Eastern Star and the Kitchenette Band.
Surviving are two sons, Robert Jr. of Hicksville and Steve, Wheaton, Ill.; two daughters, Brenda Tunison of Villa Grove, Ill., and Lisa, Hicksville; and three grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Burdette; and a brother, Leroy Monroe.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville, with Rev. Tom Graves officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Sunday.
Preferred memorials are to a charity of the donor's choice.

Eddie Clemens
CECIL - Eddie P. Clemens, Cecil, was stillborn at 10:52 a.m. Thursday in Community Hospitals of Williams County-Bryan.
Surviving are his parents, James and Mandi (Gerken) Clemens, Cecil; two sisters, Samantha Fulmer and Danielle, both at home; a brother, Brody, at home; and grandparents, Ronald and Patricia Clemens of Oakwood and Larry and Jeannie Gerken, Antwerp.
Preceding him in death were great-grandparents, Basil and Cecilia Clemens, Leonard and Edna Klier, Richard and Lavina Gerken, Agnes McBride and Henry Ripke.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Riverside Cemetery, Defiance, with Rev. Keith Sarver officiating. There will be no visitation. Handling arrangements is Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home, Defiance.
Preferred memorials are to the family.

Jack Sexton Sr.
NAPOLEON - Jack L. Sexton Sr., 64, Napoleon, died Friday morning at Henry County Hospital.
He was born Aug. 6, 1936, in Knoxville, Tenn., the son of Robert and Pauline (Parsley) Sexton. In 1957, he married Faye McGinnis, who survives. He worked at Tenneco, Napoleon, for 25 years, where he was a union steward and retired in 1986. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Napoleon and attended First Church of Christ, Napoleon. He helped start Emergency Medical Service in Henry County, volunteered with Napoleon and Liberty Center Little League baseball programs and was a scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts.
Also surviving are his mother, Napoleon; two sons, Rick and Jack Jr., both of Liberty Center; a daughter, Mrs. Daniel (Cathy) Cordes, Waterville; two brothers, Samuel of Cleveland and Glen, Napoleon; a sister, Barbara Flory, Napoleon; and 10 grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his father and a brother, Robert.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Church of Christ with Rev. Rick Chickering officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance. Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in Walker Mortuary, Napoleon.
Preferred memorials are to Henry County Senior Center, Kidney Foundation or American Heart Association.

Jerry Cordes
WAUSEON - Jerry A. Cordes, 53, Wauseon, died Friday morning in Fulton County Health Center, Wauseon.
He was born June 13, 1947, in Napoleon, the son of Edwin and Anita (Behnfeldt) Cordes. In 1995, he married Patricia Burkholder, who survives. He worked at the U.S. Post Office for 25 years, retiring in 1995. He was a sports writer for Archbold Buckeye, a circulation department employee at Fulton County Expositor and an office worker at Old Pines Golf Course, Wauseon. He was also a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church in Wauseon, and Wauseon American Legion and VFW posts.
Also surviving are his mother, Napoleon; a daughter, Katie, Pettisville; two brothers, Roger of Custar and Kevin, Napoleon; and a sister, Beth Cordes, Toledo.
Preceding him in death was his father.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the church with Rev. Thomas Lutz officiating. Burial will be Wauseon Union Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. today in Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon.
Preferred memorials are to the church or American Heart Association.
