Hilda Snyder
Hilda H. Snyder, 94, Defiance, died at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday in her home.
She was born Dec. 16, 1905, in Defiance County, the daughter of Henry and Pauline (Reineke) Roehrs.
In 1937, she married Lester Snyder, who died in 1962.
She was co-owner of Reuss & Snyder and a member of St. John Lutheran Church, its Ladies Aid, Defiance College Women's Commission, Defiance Hospital Auxiliary and Defiance Area Foundation.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. James (Rita) Meier, Defiance; and two grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a brother, Reinhart Roehrs; and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Luhring officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Friday.
Preferred memorials are to the church or a charity of the donor's choice.

David Morgan
CONTINENTAL - David Morgan, 73, Continental, died at 9:14 p.m. Tuesday in St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born June 13, 1927, in Coshocton, the son of Rev. H. David and Helen (Rogers) Morgan.
In 1951, he married Norma Jean Winkle, who survives.
He formerly worked at Ford Motor Co., Lima, and was a musician accompanying many gospel groups.
He had a Sunday morning gospel music broadcast on WDOH in Delphos and was a member of Free Christian Church of God in Continental and Lima Hammond Organ Society.
Also surviving are a son, Richard, Continental; a daughter, Vicki, Lima; two sisters, Marilyn Ewing of Elida and Naida, Lima; and two grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, twin sons who died at birth and two brothers.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the church with Rev. James Fry officiating.
Burial will be in Monroe Cemetery, Continental.
Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Friday at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Continental, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
Preferred memorials are to the church or American Heart Association.

Lester Shafer
CLOVERDALE - Lester R. Shafer, 91, Cloverdale, died at 10:02 p.m. Tuesday in Paradise Oaks Quality Care Center, Cloverdale.
He was born April 26, 1909, in Paulding County, the son of Lloyd and Mary (Gillispie) Shafer.
In 1946, he married Phyllis Schmidt, who survives.
He was a farmer and a truck driver for Wollam Ag Center Inc., Continental, and a member Dupont Service Station's board of directors and Dupont Church of the Brethren.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving from 1941-46 in Italy and North Africa.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Stan (Suzann) Bauman, Lima; a son, Hollis, Astoria, Ill.; three sisters, Anna Mary Etter of Dupont, Edith Sword of Weslaco, Texas, and Edna Place, Melrose; a brother, Russel, Fort Wayne; and four grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were a brother, Lloyd; and two sisters, Marie Hoover and Sarah Burkholder.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the church with Rev. Terry Porter officiating.
Burial will be in Monroe Cemetery, Continental, with military services accorded by Continental American Legion Post.
Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Friday at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Continental, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
Preferred memorials are to the church or American Cancer Society.

BRYAN - Norman E. Weaver, 71, Bryan, died today in Community Hospitals of Williams County-Bryan.
Arrangements are pending at Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home, Bryan.

Thomas Kuhlman
NEW CLEVELAND - Thomas A. Kuhlman, 84, New Cleveland, died at 10:40 p.m. in St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born Aug. 4, 1916, in Putnam County's Liberty Township, the son of Adolph and Dorothy (Schroeder) Kuhlman.
In 1940, he married Ruth Lammers, who died in 1993.
In 1994, he married Thelma (Niese) Rosengarten, who survives.
He was a retired farmer and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, its Holy Aid Society, Ottawa Eagles aerie and Ottawa Knights of Columbus.
Also surviving are four sons, Stanley and Anthony, both of New Cleveland, Daniel of Ottawa and Robert, West Bloomfield, Mich.; five daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Carol) Vennekotter and Mrs. Dan (Kathleen) Kern, both of Continental, Mrs. Jim (Elaine) Laudick of Kalida and Mrs. Larry (Charlotte) Salisbury and Mrs. Ken (Susan) Verhoff, both of New Cleveland; four stepsons, William Rosengarten of Circleville, Dick Rosengarten of McClure and Paul and Keith Rosengarten, both of Miller City; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Norm (Diane) Schulte of Kalida, Mrs. Leroy (Bonnie) Kahle of Miller City and Mrs. Charles (Nancy) Karhoff, Pandora; two brothers, John of New Cleveland and Adolph Jr., Lima; a sister, Mrs. Leander (Betty) Nuveman, Ottawa; and 28 grandchildren, 20 stepgrandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and eight great-stepgrandchildren.
Preceding him in death were five brothers, Bill, Norbert, Cyril, Ralph and Ambrose; four sisters, Marcella Lehman, Esther Lammers, Mary Niese and Rose Warniment; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the church with Father Robert DeSloover officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is from 7-9 p.m. today and from 2-9 p.m. Friday in Love Funeral Home, Ottawa.
On Friday there will be a scripture service at 3:30 p.m., an Ottawa Eagles service at 7:30 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus service at 8:30 p.m.
Preferred memorials are to the church or a charity of the donor's choice.

NAPOLEON - Gale Emerson Salsbury, 95, Napoleon, died this morning in Napoleon's Lutheran Home.
Arrangements are pending at Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home, Napoleon.

Helen Rohe
STRYKER - Helen L. Rohe, 87, Stryker, died Tuesday evening in Community Hospitals of Williams County-Bryan.
She was born April 12, 1913, in Toledo, the daughter of Edward and Edna (Towers) Drake.
She married John Rohe, who preceded her in death.
She was a member of Stryker United Methodist Church and Stryker Senior Citizens.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Donna) Rau, Montpelier; and 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were two daughters, Carol Hardy and Jane Jay.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Grisier Funeral Home, Stryker, with Rev. Jeff Ridenour officiating.
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Stryker.
Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Friday.
Preferred memorials are to the church.

HAMLER - Santos A. Melchor, 75, Hamler, died Wednesday at Medical College of Ohio Hospital, Toledo.
Arrangements are pending at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler.

James Harmon
Services for James W. Harmon were held Wednesday at Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Revs. Bryan Maxey and Bill Davis officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery with military rites conducted by VFW Post 3360.
Pallbearers were Craig Schaffer, Adam Harmon, Michael Pessefall, Chad and Kenneth Rose and Chuck Runtz.
