Phyllis J. Phillips
Phyllis J. Phillips, 53, of S.R. 61 South, New Haven, died Wednesday, February 28, 2001 at her home.
She was born Sept. 10, 1947 in Willard to the late Kern and Kathleen (Bailey) Pugh. She was a homemaker and worked at Pioneer Rubber and drove a school bus. Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Ripley Chapel Church of God where she had been active over the years.
Mrs. Phillips is survived by her husband, Otis F. Phillips, whom she married June 2, 1973; one son, James K. Phillips of Brunswick, Oh.; a brother: LaRue Pugh of Shamokin, Pa., and two sisters: Mrs. Audrey Blanton and Ron (Barb) Horsley, both of Bellevue. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one infant twin brother.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at the Ripley Chapel Church of God, on Old State Road. Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery, New Haven. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at the Ripley Chapel Church of God. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church Building Fund. Arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Lindsey-Kocher Funeral Service, 323 Myrtle Ave., Willard.

Cheryl Harris
Cheryl Harris, 36, of Mountain Home, Idaho, died unexpectedly Monday, February 26, 2001, at her home.
She was born May 7, 1964 in Willard to James and Barbara (Wilson) Harris of Wetumpka, Ala. She was a vault teller at a bank in Mountain Home.
She is survived by her parents; three brothers, James A. Harris of Montgomery, Ala., Jeffrey W. Harris of Baton Rouge, La., and Charles M. Harris of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandparents, Vivian Wilson of Willard and Tolbert Harris of Honaker, Va., and two nephews: Christopher and Corey Harris of Morgan, Ala. She is also survived by several aunts and uncles in the Ohio and Virginia area.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at the Greenwood Cemetery, Willard, with the Rev. Velman Sexton officiating. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the Lindsey-Kocher Funeral Service, 323 Myrtle Ave., Willard. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 43099 N. Ridge Rd., Elyria, Oh., 44035 or the American Heart Association, 1689 E. 115th St., Cleveland, 44106.

Joseph Paul Dolan
Joseph Paul Dolan, 86, of 94 Grand Blvd. Ext., Shelby, died Wednesday, February 21, 2001, at the Crestwood Care Center after a short illness.
Mr. Dolan was born February 20, 1915, in Garrett, Ind., the son of John H. and Zella Mae (Bradley) Dolan. He was a 1933 graduate of Garrett High School and was a railroad conductor for the B and O Railroad from 1937 &endash; 1976. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Shelby, United Transportation Union (formerly the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen).
He is survived by his wife, Elaine (Kibler) Dolan, whom he wed on November 9, 1956; a stepson, Richard D. Koontz of Shelby; two daughters and one son-in-law, Alice and Jerry Andrews of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Nancy Dolan of Columbus; grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Margaret Dolan of Garrett, Ind. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard L. Dolan and a daughter, Marth Ann Keller.
Calling hours were held on Friday at the Turner Funeral Home, where funeral services were held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Carl Beighley. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial expressions may be made to the First United Methodist Church.

Bill Miller
Bill Miller, 73, of Plymouth, died March 28, 2001, at Willard Health Care Center after a long illness. He was born March 27, 1928 in Willard.
He lived most of his life in Plymouth. He and his father owned Miller's Hardware in Plymouth for many years. He also worked at R.S. Hanline Co. in Shelby. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Plymouth for 72 years, and was a member of several civic clubs and organizations as well as being a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his widow, Dorla Gullett Miller, whom he married June 5, 1948; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lee and Larry Taylor of Troy; sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Martin and Vicki Miller of Kenton, Dr. James and Ann Miller of Nairobi, Kenya; grandchildren, Martin Miller of Cincinnati, Steven and Melissa Miller of Columbus, Adam and Jenny Taylor of Charleston, S.C., Mindy and Will Ziegler of Jersey Shore, Pa., Laurel Taylor of Troy, Wesley, Susanna, Caroline, Joanna and Luke Miller of Nairobi, Kenya; great granddaughter, Grace Ziegler of Jersey Shore, Pa.; sister, Phyllis Sherck of Steuben, and aunt, Dorothy Karr of Huron. He was preceded in death by his parents, E. Beryl and Helen Miller.
Visitation is Friday, 5-9 p.m.. at Secor Funeral Home, Plymouth. Services are Saturday, 2 p.m., at the funeral home, with Dr. Jim Miller and Will Ziegler officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Plymouth. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Nora Purcell
Nora (Bailey) Purcell, 85, of Clark Street, Willard, died at 11:02 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk.
She was born April 26, 1915 in Insko, Ky. to the late Frank Press Bailey and Elvira (King) Bailey. Mrs. Purcell was employed by the Fisher-Norwalk Co. of Norwalk and the C. E. Ward Co. in New London. She retired from Pioneer Rubber in 1972. She attended The Christian Alliance Church of Willard.
Mrs. Purcell is survived by her husband, Hager Purcell, whom she married Sept. 8, 1934; one son, Dr. Boyd Purcell of Dunbar, W. Va.; seven daughters, Maxine Lillo and husband Gerald of Willard, Georgia Zoll and husband Richard of Vero Beach, Fla., Virginia Hillman and husband Robert of Vickery, Oh., Bonnie Morris and husband Richard of Willard, Shirley Purcell of Shelby, N.C., Kathern Inmon and her husband, Billy, of Willard, and Jean Watts and her husband, Randy, of Boca Raton, Fla., 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; one brother, Woodford Bailey of Blanchester, Oh.; six sisters, Rosa Jones of Millersburg, Ky.; Roxie Reed of Salyersville, Ky., Virgie Kozak of Willard, Jewel Lewis of North Fairfield, Alva Wagers and Geneva Hager, both of Hazel Green, Ky.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Richard Bryan Morris and Jeffrey Wayne Kennard, and 11 brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the Christian Alliance Church with the Rev. Stephen Sickel of the church officiating. Burial was in the Maple Grove Cemetery, New Haven.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons International, P.O. Box 791, Norwalk, 44857 or the American Heart Association, 1689 E. 115th St., Cleveland, 44106.

Majorie Waltz
Marjorie E. Waltz, 75, of Rae Court, Willard, died at 5:42 a.m. Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Hillside Acres Nursing Home, Willard.
She was born April 16, 1925 in Willard to the late Alfred and Ada (Carpenter) Nichols. Mrs. Waltz was a homemaker and foster parent with her husband Paul to 129 children. She babysat a lot of children in the Attica area. She attended Richmond United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Waltz is survived by two daughters, Birdie Kuhn of Attica and Sharon Hupp of Bowling Green; five grandchildren; three step grandchildren; five great grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; nine step great great grandchildren; two brothers, Walter Nichols of New Haven and Alfred H. Nichols of Spokane, Wash., and one sister, Lucille Wilson of Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul in 1980; two sisters, Betty Polachek and Claramay Naisteleter; four brothers and two sisters who died early in life, and a great granddaughter.
Funeral Services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, at the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, 1295 W. Tiffin St., Attica, with the Rev. Stephen Holliday officiating. Burial was in the Attica-Venice Township Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the family through the funeral home.

Helen Elizabeth 'Sis' Alt
Helen Elizabeth "Sis" Alt, 85, formerly of 54 Auburn Ave., Shelby, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Hillside Acres Nursing Home in Willard.
She was born December 15, 1915 in North Auburn, Oh., the daughter of Peter and Mary (Pifher) Alt. Miss Alt was a graduate of New Washington High School.
She was a housekeeper for the John Root family of Plymouth, the Bissman family of Mansfield and the Dr. Price family of Shelby. She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society, and St. Ann's Society. She was an avid card player and enjoyed gardening.
Sis was a special and loving aunt to her nieces and nephews. She is survived by three nieces, Donna Jean Hicks of Shelby, Ruth Kouns of Upper Sandusky, Jayne Alt of Bucyrus; three nephews, Ray Alt of Bucyrus, Donald Alt of Crestline, and Lowell Alt of New Washington; many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Alt.
Calling hours were held on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main St., Shelby, where the rosary was recited at 4 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday at 9 a.m. at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father John C. Missler, officiating.
Burial was at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church.

Lola M. Miller
Lola M. Miller, 71, of Plymouth, died Friday, March 30, 2001 at her home after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Miller was born March 1, 1930 in Somerton, Oh., daughter of the late Ernest and Amanda (English) Price. She had lived in the Shiloh and Plymouth areas the last 30 years. She is remembered as a wonderful homemaker, mother and grandmother.
She was a member of the Home Arts Club and was on the executive committee of the Huron County Association for Children for Enforcement of Support. She also was involved with ROY, Reach Our Youth of Huron County.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ronald D. Miller; three daughters, Rebecca Babcock of Norwalk, Linda Stephens of Prestonburg, Ky., and Sandra Collins of Cynthiana, Ky.; a son, David A. Miller of Richmond, Ky.; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; three brothers, Clarence Price of Streetsboro, Oh., Roy Price of Barnesville, Oh., and John Price of Huntsburg, Oh; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents; step mother, Lorena Price; a sister, Ruth McLaughlin; and two brothers, Caroleton and Paul Price.
Visitation was held Sunday, June 24, at the Eastman Funeral Home, 49 W. Main St., Greenwich, where funeral services were held Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Daniel Humrichouser officiating. Burial was in the Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorials if desired may be made to the Easter Seals, 226 S.R. 61 East, Norwalk, 44857.

Wanda Back
Wanda Back, 61, of 5 Earl Ct., North Fairfield, died June 23, 2001 at Firelands Hospital, Sandusky.
She was born November 3, 1939 in Bays, Ky., and has lived in North Fairfield since 1963.
She formerly worked as a greeter at the Maijer store in Sandusky. She was a member of the Church of God in Plymouth.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Roy Back; daughter, Diana Rhine of Greenwich; sons, Samuel Back of Norwalk and Michael Back of Greenwich; grandchildren, Aaron Dwayne Back, Andrea Marie Back, Amanda Jo Caudill, Nicole Michelle Rhine, Melissa Grace Rhine, McKallah Lynn Back, Devin Michael Back, all of Greenwich; great grandchild, Ethan Robert Caudill of Greenwich; three sisters and three brothers.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, four sisters, five brothers, and parents, Marlin and Bessie Bach.
Visitation was held Monday at Secor Funeral Home, Willard. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Church of God in Plymouth with the Rev. Edward Legg officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Greenwich.
Memorials may be made to the Church of God in Plymouth.

Kenneth Moll
Kenneth Moll, 74, of Celeryville, died Monday morning, June 25, 2001, at St. Vincent's Hospital, Toledo.
He was born Aug. 12, 1926 in Celeryville to the late Nicholas and Jennie (Buurma) Moll. Mr. Moll was a graduate of New Haven High School, Class of 1944.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was co-owner and operator of Holland Market in Willard for 45 years. He was a member of the Willard Christian Reformed Church where he served as elder, deacon, and Sunday School teacher for 35 years. He also was a R.O.M.E.O., former member of Willard Rotary Club and was active as a volunteer at the Celeryville Christian School.
Mr. Moll is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Sytsema) Moll; three sons: Jon Moll and his wife, Suzanne, of Willard, Dean Moll and his wife, Charlene, of Lancaster, Pa., and Al Moll of Grand Rapids, Mich.; five grandchildren: Melissa Moll of Durham, N.H., Alex Moll of Lancaster, Pa., and Niki, Angela and Megan Moll of Willard; two sisters: Senetta Moll of Celeryville, and Janice Cooper of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada; seven brothers: Franklin Moll of Naples, Fla., Herman Moll of Cashiers, N.C., Donald Moll of Celeryville, Roger Moll of Celeryville, David Moll of Willard, Lynn Moll of Celeryville and Keith Moll of Celeryville. He was preceded in death by one sister, Lois Moll.
Funeral Services were set for 11 a.m. Thursday, June 28, at the Willard Christian Reformed Church with the Rev. Len Riemersma officiating. Visitation was held Wednesday at the Lindsey-Kocher Funeral Service, 323 Myrtle Ave., Willard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Celeryville Christian School, 4200 Broadway, Willard, 44890.
