Elizabeth Goff
Elizabeth Goff, 62, of Adena, died June 19, 2003.
Friends are welcome on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Borkoski Funeral Home, Adena, where services will be held on Monday, June 23, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Barry Hall officiating. Burial follows in Olive Branch Cemetery.

Vasil Mriz
Vasil "Willie" Mriz, 70, of St. Peters, Missouri, died June 17, 2003, at Barnes Jewish St. Peters, St. Peters, Missouri. He was born Feb. 7, 1933 at Midway, Ohio, son of the late Michael and Mary Mriz.
He was Vice-President of Sales and Distribution and retired from Quaker State Oil Company after 23 years of service. He served in the U. S. Army from July 7, 1953 to May 10, 1955.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Grimes and Mary Niehaus and one brother, John Mriz.
Surviving are his spouse, Joyce J. Mriz, St. Peters, Missouri, two daughters, Tina Benavides (Chris) of Avon Lake, Ohio and Penny Hein (Tom) of St. Peters, Missouri, one brother, Michael Mriz of Midway, Ohio; two sisters, Helen Mozden of Santa Fe, New Mexico and Marg Williams, Florida; one granddaughter, Erica Hein, of St. Peters, Missouri and three grandsons: Adam Hein, St. Peters, Missouri, Ian and Cody Benavides of Avon Lake, Ohio.
Services will be held on Friday, June 20, 2003 at 2:30 p.m. at The Baue Funeral & Memorial Center Chapel, 3950 West Clay St., St. Charles, Missouri. Cremation will follow the service.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, c/o of The Baue Funeral Home, St. Charles, Missouri 63376.

Deborah Brownfield
Deborah Ann (Debby) Brownfield, 43, of Barnesville, Ohio, died Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at Wheeling Hospital. She was born July 25, 1959 in Akron, Ohio, a daughter of Ronald and Sharon Ballard Lane.
Debby was a computer manager for the Diocese of Wheeling Charleston Area, a Protestant and former member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church of Bethesda, Ohio, she was a past president of the AITP of the Upper Ohio Valley.
She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Sam and Mary Lane, maternal grandparents Glenn and Marie Ballard.
Surviving in addition to her parents of Piedmont are her husband Bryon Keith (Oger) Brownfield, two sons Ricky Lee Phillips of Byesville, and Joseph Glenn Phillips of Barnesville, two step-sons Joshua Tayler and Justin Trent Brownfield both of Barnesville, two grandchildren Ryan and Cassidy Phillips, two sisters Lois Unger of Kipton, Ohio, and Ronda McConnell of Barnesville; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Kelly - Kemp - Braido Funeral Home, 702 East Main St., Barnesville, where services will be held, Monday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Garry Ballard officiating. Burial in Ebenezer Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the 3C's Cancer Support Group c/o Jo Mott, 165 East Main St., Barnesville, Ohio 43713.

Clyde Thompson
Clyde Arthur Thompson, 61, of 3345 Monroe Street, Bellaire, died Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at his home.
Clyde was born July 3, 1941, in Bellaire, a son of the late William Harry and Racheal Yocum Thompson.
He was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Bellaire.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Nancy Calmbaucher.
Surviving are his daughter, Della "Dee" Thompson of Bellaire, former wife, Shirley Thompson Beaver of Bellaire, two grandchildren, Clyde Thompson II and Sarah Thompson, a sister Julia (LeRoy) Cunningham of Wheeling, several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home, 441 37th Street, Bellaire, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, with Rev. Frank Givens officiating.
Interment in Davis Cemetery, Bellaire.

Clarence McFadden
Clarence "Shoes" McFadden, 62, Rose Lane, Floral Valley, Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003. He was born June 14, 1941 in Martins Ferry, son of late Frank and Agnes Rochus McFadden.
He was an employee of the Cardinal A.E.P. Plant in Brilliant, an Army veteran, a member of the Smithfield Methodist Church, Utility Workers Local 478; Labor Local 809; Masonic Lodge 486, Martins Ferry and Pine Valley Sportsman Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Jr., Martin and infant brother, Edward; two sisters, Sara McFadden and Anna Mae Carpenter.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Francis McFadden, a son, Ronald McFadden, Yorkville; a daughter, Joni Greene and her husband Todd of Rayland, Ohio; two sisters, Agnes Riggs of Bridgeport and Catherine Laraway, Cleveland and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. with Reverend Ed Gardner. Entombment at Holly Memorial Mausoleum, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.

Harry McNeal
Harry R. McNeal, 70, of Colerain Pike, Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at Heartland-Lansing Care Center, Lansing, Ohio. He was born in Bellaire, on Jan. 8, 1933, son of the late Albert H. and Mildred A. (Hahne) McNeal.
He was a retired clerk at Wheeling-News, Wheeling, W. Va., and a member of the First Baptist Church, Martins Ferry and also a U. S. Navy veteran having served in the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Doris A. (Howell) McNeal; three sons, David H., husband of Them McNeal, Atlanta, Ga.; Phillip R., husband of Deborah McNeal, Wheeling, W. Va.; Michael A., husband of Lori McNeal, Westerville, Ohio; two daughters, Ramona S. McNeal, Martins Ferry; Margo A., wife of Thomas Thacker, Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Marilyn Kinsey, Lansing, Ohio and three grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Keller Funeral Home, 615 Hanover Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio, where friends will be received Friday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. with services to be held on Saturday, June 21, 2003 at 11 a.m., at the funeral home with Rev. Joe Sanders, officiating.
Interment will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.

Nancy Freeman
Nancy J. Freeman, 70, of St. Clairsville, died Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at Wheeling Continuous Care Center, after a long courageous battle with diabetes.. She was born March 4, 1933 in Lamira, Ohio, a daughter of the late Harold and Sara Lytle Hall.
Nancy was retired from Freeman Heating and Air, a Christian by faith, and a member of the St. Clairsville Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William (Bill) Freeman, and a sister, Barbara Miller.
Surviving are two sons, Steve and wife Melissa Freeman of St. Clairsville, John Freeman of Wheeling, W. Va.; two daughters, Donna Bradford of Virginia and Mrs. Ray (Susan) Flanagan of Bethesda; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, a special friend, Nancy Hudson of St. Clairsville, one sister Rebecca Cleland of Freeport, four brothers, Harold Hall of Uhrichsville, Gordon Hall of East Liverpool, Wayne Hall of League City, Texas and James Hall of Circleville.
Friends will be received Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Kelly-Kemp-Braido Funeral Home, 322 North Main St., Bethesda, where services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. with Minister Everett Hutson, officiating. Burial follows in Belmont Cemetery.

Christopher Carlier
Christopher Frank Carlier, our loving and kind son, went to heaven to be with his grandfathers on June 18, 2003, at the age of 15, after a long and courageous battle with leukemia.
He was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Colerain where he was an alter server. He attended Martins Ferry High School where he would have been a sophomore and played on the football and baseball teams. Chris also played Martins Ferry Civic Baseball, was a member of Belmont County 4-H and was an OSU fan.
He was preceded in death by: Grandfathers, John Carlier and William Flowers.
Christopher is survived by: Parents, John and Karen (Flowers) Carlier of Colerain; Siblings: Emily, age 16, Angelina, age 13 and Jonathan, age 9. Grandmothers: Mary Carlier of Adena and Dorothy Flowers of Adena. Uncles and Aunts: David and Charlene (Flowers) Miller of St. Clairsville, Gary and Cheryl (Flowers) Ludwig of Greenfield, Ohio, Greg and Mary Beth (Carlier) Kilpatrick of Mt. Pleasant, Bill and Lori (Flowers) Applegarth of New Athens, and Tim Carlier of Adena. Cousins: Eric and Ashley Kilpatrick, Matthew and Elisa Ludwig, Becky, Jenna and Kelley Applegarth, Allison Miller and Dakota Carlier.
Friends are welcome on Friday from 2 to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday from 9 until 10 a.m. at Borkoski Funeral Home, 555 E. Market St., Cadiz, where Vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., on Saturday, June 21, 2003, at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Colerain with Monsignor David Reasbeck, Monsignor John Kolesar and Father Carl Borosh as celebrants.
Burial follows at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to Chris Carlier Scholarship Fund, 52355 Lakeview Drive, Dillonvale, OH 43917.

Eugene Williams, Sr.
Eugene Charles Williams, Sr., 39, of Martins Ferry, died June 15, 2003 at Bellaire, Ohio. He was born Sept. 13, 1963 at Steubenville, son of William C. E. Sayles and the late Eileen William Sayles and resided with his significant other, Jackie Allen.
Surviving are three daughters, Chiquita, Shavona and Shayla; four sons, Patrick, Eugene Jr., JaRon and Reno; one sister, Trigana Sayles and one brohter, Lloyd Williams Sr. and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a chef at Wheeling Downs, Wheeling, W. Va. and a Protestant by faith.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, June 19, 2003 from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m., at the L. C. Williams Funeral Home, 411 N. 7th Street, Steubenville, Ohio. Burial follows at Union Cemetery, Steubenville, Ohio.
