Dale Ray Peterson
Dale Ray Peterson, age 72, of Bondi Ridge Rd., Woodsfield. Ohio, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2003 at his home. He was born April 11, 1931 in Belmont County, Ohio, a son of the late Leroy Peterson and Elsie Morris Peterson.
He was a retired 35-year employee of Ormet Corp., Hannibal, Ohio, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodsfield.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Jane Thomas Peterson, March 1992, two brothers: Rex and Cecil Peterson, one granddaughter: Tricia Forshey.
Surviving are three daughters: Thelma Forshey and her husband Terry, Georgia Rohal and Cindy Peterson; one sister: Cleda May and her husband Bill, all of Woodsfield, Ohio; one brother: Vincent Peterson and his wife Dinah of Fowler, Ohio; seven grandchildren and 13 great - grandchildren.
Friends received from 3 to 9 p.m., Wednesday at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield, Ohio, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 28, 2003 with Rev. Tommy Mills officiating. Interment in the Goudy Cemetery near Woodsfield.

Kathleen A. Foster
Kathleen A. Foster, 76, of Tallman Ave., Bellaire, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003 in Wheeling Hospital. She was born May 29, 1926 in Bellaire, a daughter of the late Michael and Marie Ford Curran.
She was a homemaker, a member of St. John Catholic Church, Bellaire, where she was active in the Catholic Women's Club, a St. John cafeteria worker, a St. John Booster Club Alumni and a 50 year member of her Wednesday afternoon Bridge Club.
Kathleen was a wonderful, devoted mother. Her life was an example of her deep faith and devotion to God. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. She tirelessly gave of her time and love to others. She can rest now. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert J. Foster, Sr. on March 31, 2003 and two brothers, Michael Leo Curran and William Curran.
Surviving are five sons, Michael (Barbara) Foster of Dalton, Ohio, Robert (Debbie) Foster Jr. of Pittsburgh, Pa., James (Donna) Foster of Bellaire, Joseph (Lisa) Foster of Shadyside, Ohio, and Stephen (Sheila) Foster of Plano, Texas; three daughters, Susan Apicella of Shadyside, Mary Ellen (Robert) Morris of Martins Ferry, Ohio, and Barbara (John) Schlanz of Ashville, N.C.; two brothers, James (Julie) Curran of Bellaire, and John (Pat) Curran of Moundsville, W.Va.; 18 grandsons, four granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home 441-37th St., Bellaire. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Monsignor Gene W. Mullett as celebrant. Burial follows in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Bellaire.
Vigil service will be held Friday at 2:15 p.m. in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. John Catholic Church, St. John Grade School or St. John Central High School Scholarship Fund.

Elsie McLaughlin
Elsie L. McLaughlin, 75, of Walden Ave., Tiltonsville, died Sunday, May 25, 2003 at the home of her daughter, Kris Prati of Tiltonsville, Ohio.
She was born Nov. 21, 1927 in Connorville, Ohio, daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Roshak Stone.
She was a retired employee of Kaufman's of Steubenville; a beautifican and instructor at the Steubenville Beauty School and a member of the Vineyard Church of Wheeling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert McLaughlin in 1990; a son, Jules Komonich and a daughter, Cheryl Komonich.
Surviving are two daughters, Kris Prati and her husband, Robert of Tiltonsville and Lee Ann Roy of Bridgeville, Pa.; a son, Patrick McLaughlin and his wife Kerry of Woodstock, Ga.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Vivian Evans of Tiltonsville.
A memorial visitation will be held at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, Ohio, on Tuesday, from 1 to 3 p.m. Services will immediately follow the visitation with Rev. John Rasz officiating.

Richard Smith
Richard O. "Smitty" Smith, 76, of Harrisville, died May 26, 2003 at his home.
He was born the youngest of eight children on Sept. 15, 1926 in Mt. Pleasant, to the late Emmett and Nora Waller Smith.
Beginning at the age of 16, Smitty became a well known and respected self-employed mechanic for over 50 years.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, a former Harrisville councilman and a member of the Harrisville United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Richard; two sisters and five brothers.
Smitty is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Smith of 58 years; two daughters, Brenda Sue Matthews and her husband Les of Adena and Cathy Robinson and her husband Gary of Cadiz; four sons: Harry "Buzz" and his wife Lisa of St. Clairsville, Rick and his wife Vicki of Tiltonsville, George and his wife Anita of Harrisville and Brad and his wife Patti of Radnor, Ohio; one brother, Eugene Smith of New Athens; 10 grandchildren: Butch Matthews, Jeannine Smith, Heather Smith, Chad Smith, Kelly Tonkovich, Todd Smith, Cody Smith, Kerri Smith, Erika Smith and Jamie Martin; seven great grandchildren: Ashley, Jacob, Zachery, Kayla, Tori, Logan and Trenton and best friend, Kit Cat.
Friends are welcome on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at Borkoski Funeral Home, Adena and again on Thursday at the Harrisville Methodist Church from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Barry Hall and Rev. James McKenzie, co-officiating.
Burial follows at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio. Full military graveside services will be conducted by the Adena American Legion Post 525.

Betty Fabry
Betty Brown Fabry, 78, Smithfield, Ohio, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2003, in her home.
She was born May 2, 1924, in Rush Run, Ohio, a daughter of the late William and Hazel Wilburn Bensie. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph H. Brown in 1980; her second husband, Andrew "Shag" Fabry in 1990 and three brothers, William, Charles and a baby Bensie.
Betty was a retired employee of the former Kobackers Warehouse, Brilliant, a member of the Rush Run United Methodist Church, the Mingo Sportsman Club and the Eagles.
Surviving are two sons, Ralph "Butch" Brown and his friend, Pam Corona of New Alexandria, and Bruce Brown and his wife Pam of Toronto; two daughters, Brenda Neillly and son-in-law Randy Banal of Smithfield and Shelby Taylor of Dillonvale; a step-son, James Fabry of Virginia; a step-daughter, Paula Best of California; two brothers, Thomas Bensie Sr. and his wife Mary of Bradley and Fred "Bud" Bensie and his wife Rhea of Rush Run; three sisters, Grace Perri of Brilliant and Shirley Brown and Virginia Ellis, both of Rush Run; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.
Friends received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Wednesday at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, where services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. with John Ater officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hopedale, Ohio.

Lynn Albanese
Lynn Garnet Albanese, 55, of Woodsfield, died Thursday, May 22, 2003, at her home.
She was born Feb. 6, 1948 in Martins Ferry, a daughter of Ernest L. (Sr.) and Hazel V. Johnson Albanese.
Lynn was a Special Education Teacher at the Monroe Achievement Center in Woodsfield, a member of the Buchanan Presbyterian Church in Lewisville where she was a member of the Session. She graduated from the Union Local High School in 1966 and Ohio University in 1970. Lynn received a master's degree from Ohio University.
Lynn is survived by her parents, residents of Lloydsville (Belmont), one son, Robert W. Balney of San Francisco, Calif.; one daughter, Captain Shannon Stambersky and her husband, Lt. Peter, stationed in Baghdad, Iraq; one brother, Ernest L. Albanese, Jr. and his wife, Mary Ann of South Orange, New Jersey and one sister, Cynthia Peroni and her husband, Frank of Phoenix, Arizona.
Family and friends will be received at the Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home, 204 West Main Street, St. Clairsville, on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m., where services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Connie Garlique officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery in St. Clairsville.

Mary V. Scott
Mary V. Scott, 67, of Bel Capre Apartments, Bellaire, died Friday, March 28, 2003, at the Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, W. Va.
She was born March 21, 1936 in Fairpoint, a daughter of the late Kermit L. and Florence Ludwig Wright.
Mary was a homemaker and Protestant by faith.
Surviving are her children, Barbara E. Smathers of West Virginia, Florence M. King of Bellaire, Richard A. Scott of Avella, Pa., Beatrice K. Baker of Belmont, Kermit L. Scott and Jamie L. Smathers, both of Bellaire; 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Goudy Church of Christ Cemetery, near Woodsfield with Evangelist Thomas Tucker, II, officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Goudy Church of Christ in care of William Copeland, 331 South Main Street, Woodsfield, Ohio 43793.

Helen Orkis
Helen Orkis, 95, of Gahanna, formerly of Provident, Ohio, died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital, Columbus.
She was born April 29, 1907 at Provident, a daughter of the late Joseph and Cecelia Pstrong Piasecki.
Helen was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Clairsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Celement, in 1956; two brothers, Joseph and Walter Piasecki and three sisters, Stella Humphrey, Mary Orkis and Nellie Breedlove.
Surviving are two sons, John F. and Martin J. Orkis, both of Gahanna; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home, St. Clairsville, Ohio.
A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Clairsville, with Father Chester Pabin, the celebrant.
Burial follows at Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
Vigil services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
