Ethel Oancea
Ethel Lewis Oancea, age 74, of Pickerington, Ohio, formerly of Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003 at her residence.
She was a 1946 graduate of Martins Ferry High School and was married for 53 years to her high school sweetheart, Virg Oancea.
Ethel is survived by her husband, Virg; sons and daughter-in-law, Gary Oancea, Dave and Penny Oancea, all of Pickerington, daughter and her fiance, Susan Oancea and Steve Gray, his children, Jessica Gray and Cora Gray of Columbus; grandchildren, Cary, Amanda, Zach, Tara, Jared, Danny and Corey Oancea; sister, Kay (Bob) Short of Lilburn, Ga., brothers-in-law, Bill Ennis of Columbus, Raoul Jenkins of Martins Ferry; sister-in-law, Mary (Bernie) Miller of Dublin, Ohio; many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, William and Margaret Lwis.
Friends may visit 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, at the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, 550 Hill Road North (State Route #256) Pickerington where the funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, with Pastor James Moran, officiating. Interment in Violet Cemetery, Pickerington.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Mt. Carmel Hospice, most especially Kim Haas. Contributions may be made to them in Ethel's memory.

Carolyn Nameth
Carolyn Nameth, 82, of Market Street, Yorkville, Ohio, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2003 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, Ohio. She was born Oct. 17, 1920 at Dun Glen, Ohio, daughter of the late James and Palmina Biajoli Marconi.
She was an employee of the former Cleveland Graphite Bronze in Bridgeport; a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Tiltonsville, Yorkville Volun - teer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary; St. Francis Society and the Golden Age Club of Yorkville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis H. "Coomby" Nameth; five brothers, Harry, Tony, Joseph, Nello and Warnie and one sister, Rose Lucarelli.
Surviving are a son, Daniel James Nameth and his fiancee Rae Jean Marmie; a daughter, Tiffany Runewicz and her husband, Michael of Deep Run, Ohio; a sister, Mary Fortunato of Tiltonsville, Ohio; two grand- children, two step-grandchildren and four step - great - grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, Ohio. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday morning at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Tiltonsville with Monsignor George Coyne as celebrant. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio. Ladies Auxiliary of the Fire Department will hold services this evening at 7 p.m., with Wake services following at 8:30 p.m., at the funeral home.

Louis Olexa
Louis Olexa, 90, of Neffs, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, in Bellaire. He was born Oct. 17, 1912 in Neffs, a son of the late Steve and Mary Blasko Olexa.
Louis was retired from Consol Coal, Glen Castle Mine, and was an Army veteran of World War II.
In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by his wife, Anna May Didisse Olexa in 1998; four brothers, Steve, Fred, Andy, and Paul and two sisters, Mary Busic and Cecelia Miano.
Surviving are two sons, Allan and Duane, both of Neffs, and three grandchildren, Cara, Abby and Bethany Olexa, all of Neffs.
There will be no visitation. Services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Neffs Volunteer Fire Dept. and Emergency Squad.
Arrangements by the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home, 441-37th St., Bellaire.

Teola DiLoreto
Teola (Wease) DiLoreto, 79, Cadiz, died Sept. 20, 2003 at Carriage Inn of Cadiz. She was born March 9, 1924, in Adena, Ohio.
She was a member of First Apostolic Church, Cadiz.
Preceding her in death were parents, Roy and Grace West Wease; four brothers and six sisters.
Teola is survived by two sons, Charles DiLoreto of Adena and Angelo DiLoreto and his wife Donna of Cadiz; three daughters, Bernadette McIntyre of Dennison, Diana McVicker and her husband Raymond of Uhrichsville, Alberta Morris and her husband Harold of Jewett; six sisters, Olga Wease of Adena, Odetta Conley of New Martinsville, Phyllis Bauer of Adena, Dola Lude of St. Clairsville, JoAnn Tinker of Missouri, Beulah Yoke of Barberton; 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren.
Friends are welcome on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Borkoski Funeral Home, 555 E. Market St., Cadiz, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003 with the Rev. Ray Ellenbaugh officiating. Burial follows in Olive Branch Cemetery, Harrisville.

Dorothy Kinney
Dorothy E. Kinney, 76, of Hartshorn Ridge Rd., Graysville, Ohio, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2003. Calling hours, 2 to 9 p.m., Wednesday. Funeral service, 11 a.m., Thursday, at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield, Ohio.

John Coyne
John Patrick Coyne, Sr., 86, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003 in Wheeling Hospital. He was born May 11, 1917 in Wheeling, a son of the late Patrick and Anna Marie Tuttle Coyne.
John was a retired Sales Manager with the former Tri-State Wholesale Oil Co., and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Clairsville and an Army veteran of WWII.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife Beatrice Johnson Coyne in 2000, a son Christopher John Coyne, a brother Bernard Coyne and two grandsons: Scott Michael Coyne and Donny Blum.
Surviving are his first wife and mother of their living eight children: Polly Ennis of Winter Park, Fla., and the children: Michael John and his wife Rose Ann of Bellaire, John Patrick of Tampa, Fla., Patrick John and his wife Mary of Wheeling, Martin John and his wife Angela of Springfield, Va., Kathy Street and her husband Bill of St. Clairsville, Polly Blum and her husband Don of Pittsburgh, Pam Knox and her husband Ken of St. Clairsville and Maureen Rabazinski and her husband Rich of Winter Park, Fla., Also surviving is a brother Edward Coyne of Wheeling, two sisters: Nancy Weatherson of Wheeling and Margaret Conner of Fredricksburg, Va., 27 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Monday, Sept. 22, 2003 from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, Sept. 23,2003 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at the Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home, 204 West Main Street, St. Clairsville.
Final arrangements are pending.

Melvina Brown
Melvina J. Brown, 77, of Pine Lane, Barnesville, Ohio passed away Friday, Sept. 19, 2003 at her sister's home in Duffy, Ohio with her family by her side.
She was born Oct. 22, 1925 in Duffy, Ohio the daughter of the late Harvey and Blanche Huffman. She was also preceded in death by her husband: Eugene Brown, a sister: Leona Crawford, and a brother: William Huffman.
She was a Protestant by faith and a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Shadyside Chapter #581.
Melvina is survived by her sister: Alvera Baker of Duffy, Ohio; six nephews: Donnie Crawford and his wife Sue of Sardis, Ohio, Bill Crawford and his wife Joan of Hannibal, Ohio, Virgil Crawford and his wife Carolyn of Belpre, Ohio, Gerald Crawford of Woodsfield, Ohio, Terry Baker and his wife Diane of Duffy, Ohio, and Jeffrey Brown and his wife Maude of Powhatan Point, Ohio; two nieces: Shelby Repco, and Sandy Brookover and her husband Bill, all of Sardis, Ohio.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Grisell Funeral Home, 37234 Mound Street, Sardis, Ohio where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard Wilson and Rev. Jerry Yost officiating. Interment in Harter Cemetery, Hannibal, Ohio.

Kenda Burrows
Kenda Burrows, formerly of Barnesville, Ohio, died at her residence in Landrum, S. C., on Sept. 19, 2003. She was the daughter of Beatrice A. Sebring Burrows of Fairpoint, Ohio and the late Arthur W. Burrows.
She was disabled, worked with Special Olympics and taught art to children. She was of the Methodist faith.
The love of her life was her son and daughter-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and family.
Surviving are one son, Nathan L. and wife, April (Monahan) Burrows, of Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska; one brother, William S. Burrows of Fairpoint, Ohio; four sisters, Sandi Bartnicki and husband, Alan, of Hartwell, Ga., Linda Linkous and husband, Mark of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Renda Muklewicz and husband, Stanley, of Bridgeport, Ohio and Cinda Burrows of Fairpoint, Ohio; two granddaughters, Cheyenne and Madison Burrows of Alaska, and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, at 11 a.m., at Bannock United Methodist Church, Bannock, Ohio, with Pastor Ken Kelly officiating.
Bobo Funeral Chapel, Spartanburg, South Carolina, is in charge of arrangements.

Frances Gray
Frances A. Steed Gray, 96, of Woodsfield Nursing and Rehab Center, Woodsfield, Ohio, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2003 at the care center. She was born Nov. 16, 1907 in Monroe County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Sanford and Clara Kysor Steed.
In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband Dorsey Gray, two daughters, Mary C. Hill and Edna M. Gray, one brother and three sisters.
Surviving are a daughter, Virginia Sheba of Powhatan Point, Ohio and two sisters, Lorraine Steed of Woodsfield, and Elizabeth McCollum of Canton, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, 23 great - grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
Friends received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield, Ohio, where services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Sept. 26, 2003 with Minister Jeremy Joy officiating. Interment in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield.

Phyllis Gundling
Our heavenly father has called a precious lamb back to the fold. Phyllis Lee Marker Gundling passed away on Sept. 20, 2003 in her 80th year. Phyllis was a kind soul who delighted in giving service to others. She was a parishioner of St. Michael Catholic Church in Wheeling.
Phyllis was born on Dec. 5, 1922 in Aetnaville, Ohio, the baby daughter of the late David and Gertrude Jenkins Marker. She was predeceased by her husband, Valentine G. Gundling, Jr., her son William George Gundling, and her siblings Thomas Marker, Russell Marker, Gertrude Heil, Carrie McCormick, Ada Marker, Grace O'Neill, and Gladys Mae Hicks.
Phyllis is survived by her brother, David J. Marker, Jr. of Virginia, her daughter, Gretchen Wilson of Wheeling and her husband Denis, her son Val Gundling, III, of Murrysville, Pa. and his wife Auddie, her son David Gundling of Pawleys Island, SC and his wife, Kitty. She had eight grandchildren, Katie Wilson, Carrie Wilson, Christie Sara Gundling, Ryan Gundling, Colin Gundling, Collins Gundling, Zade Gundling and Gabrielle Gundling, and numerous nieces and nephews. Phyllis was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose selfless spirit was a guide and inspiration to everyone that she touched during her treasured life. Phyllis owned and operated Hills and Dales Nursery School located at Vance Memorial Church for 24 years and during which time, through genuine love and kindness, nurtured hundreds of young children in the community. Many of her students, who became leaders in the field, would share their successes with her and swell with found memories when they would hear her name. Phyllis loved her bridge club and her times volunteering at Wheeling Hospital and Oglebay Park. Phyllis' life was not an example of a life cut too short, but an example of God blessing his children on this earth with every last ounce of love and joy that he could use through Phyllis; to her last breath. She could truthfully say that "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." II Timothy 4:7.
A viewing will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church in Wheeling on Monday, Sept. 22, 2003 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Vigil service will be 7:30 p.m. on Monday. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael church on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003 at 10 a.m. A luncheon at the parish center will follow. Memorials may be made to St. Michael Parish School Fund Development Office, 1220 National Road, Wheeling 26003. Arrangements entrusted to Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Wheeling.
