Irene Bodnar
Irene F. Bodnar, 85, of Dillonvale, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling.
She was born March 3, 1918 in Dillonvale, daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna Homol Blazy. Irene was a member of St. Adalberts Catholic Church in Dillonvale.
In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husband John in 1982; one infant son John Robert Bodnar; four brothers Lewis, Nick, Alex and Rudy Bodnar; four sisters Sophie Ricchetti, Anna Nemetti, Mary Diehl and Julia Pfeiffer; three infant grandchildren.
Irene is survived by two sons Ronald Bodnar and his wife Sue of Solon, Ohio and Clarence Bodnar and his wife Patty of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one daughter Mary Ann Colaianni and her husband Vince of Dillonvale; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Irene's visitation will be Monday, 4 to 9 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second St., Dillonvale, Ohio, where Vigil services will be held at 8:45 p.m. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Adalberts Catholic Church in Dillonvale with the Monsignor John Kolesar as the celebrant. Interment follows at Highland Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.
Memorial contribution in Irene's honor may be made to St. Adalberts Catholic Church, 39 Smithfield St., Dillonvale, Ohio 43917.

Carolyn Bess
Carolyn E. Bess, 72, of Mt. Pleasant, Ohio, formerly of Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003 at East Ohio Regional. She was born May 8, 1931 in Martins Ferry, a daughter of the late Clarence and Esther Redinger Harth.
Carolyn was retired from Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling and the Ford Hull Mar Nursing Home, where she worked with audiovisual equipment in the nursing service and was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Friends Church.
In addition to her parents. Carolyn was preceded in death by a son Gary and brother Joseph Harth.
Surviving are three children: William (Bill) Bess and his wife Donna, Carol Ogden and her husband Jim, Rebecca (Becky) Sambuco and her husband Ed, all of Mt. Pleasant, two sisters; Sara Jo Heslop of Martins Ferry and Darlene Bole of Ocala, Fla., and her sister-in-law Maryanne Harth of Portland, Ore. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; Bryan Bess, Josh, Sarah and David Ogden, Ashley, Courtney, Lindsay and Rachel Sambuco.
Carolyn's family wishes to invite friends to a celebration of her life on Monday, Sept. 22, 2003 at the Mt. Pleasant Friends church from 5 until 9 p.m. a memorial service will then be held on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003 at the church at 11 a.m. with her son-in-law, Pastor James Ogden officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Pleasant Friends Church Youth Group. Arrangements by the Bauknecht Altmeyer Funeral Home, 441-37th St., Bellaire, Ohio.

Ella Hoskinson
Ella Elizabeth Hoskinson, 95, of West Marietta Street, Woodsfield, Ohio, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003 at Bellaire City Hospital, Bellaire, Ohio. She was born June 15, 1908 in Belmont County Ohio, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Grant.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Hoskinson in 1973.
She is survived by two sons: Roy W. Hoskinson, of Woodsfield, Ohio; Gary Hoskinson, of Woodsfield, Ohio; one daughter: Betty Covert of Canton, Ohio; one sister: Wilda Norris of Canton, Ohio; six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends received from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield, Ohio, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003. Interment in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield.

Samuel Goddard
Samuel T. Goddard, age 63, of Long Ridge Road, Clarington, died Saturday, September 20, 2003. Visitation Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home, Clarington,; funeral Tuesday at 1 p.m.

William Markle
William E. Markle, 56, Soncere Dr., Roaming Shores, Ohio, died early Monday morning at his residence after several years of complications with A.L.S. (Lou Gehrigs Disease).
He was born July 12, 1947 in Bellaire, Ohio, the son of Frances "Funnel" and Ida (Oliver) Markle and has resided here the past 10 years, coming from Claremore, Okla. Mr. Markle was a graduate of Bliss College in Columbus. He was married to Laurel A. Lieb on Oct. 15, 1976 in Columbus. Mr. Markle was a 24 year employee of Worthington Industries, taking disability retirement in 1997.
Mr. Markle was a gifted sportsman, playing in college level sports and was active in league sports after college. He was named in "Who's Who of American College Athletes". He enjoyed jogging, fishing, golf, spending time with family and being with his dogs.
Survivors include his wife, Laurel Lieb Markle, two sons, Evan D. and Nolan P. Markle, both at home, his mother, Ida Markle of Bellaire, Ohio, a sister, Madalyn Runyan of Bellaire, Ohio, an uncle, William Oliver of Hobe Sound, Fla., and an aunt, Flo Ralston of McMechen, W. Va.
He was preceded in death by his father, Francis in 2002.
A memorial service will be held at 6:15 p.m., Wednesday, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1032 St. Rt. 46 South, Jefferson. Graveside services and entombment will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in Holy Cross Cemetery, 11539 National Rd., S. W., (Rt. 40), Pataskala, Ohio.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 to 5:30 p.m., at the Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Ashtabula Co., 2420 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004, envelopes will be at the funeral home and at the cemetery.

Everett H. Glazier
Monday, December 9th, 2002
Everett H. Glazier, 101, formerly of E. Walnut St., Jefferson, died Friday evening at the Jefferson Geriatric Center where he had resided the past seven years.
He was born April 23, 1901 in Malden, Mass., the son of Willard E. & Maude E. (Smith) Glazier and has been a resident of Jefferson more than 70 years. Mr. Glazier was a graduate of Colby Academy in New London, N. H. where he was active in football, baseball, ice hockey and track. He was a 1927 graduate of Oberlin College.
Mr. Glazier’s working career started with the First National Bank of Willoughby and then the Cleveland Trust Co. In 1936 he purchased the Lampson Insurance Agency, which became the Glazier Insurance Agency which he owned and was involved in until his retirement in 1981, his son, John joined him in the business in 1960. He was a member and first president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Ashtabula Co.
Mr. Glazier was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ where he served as choir director for 30 years and later was involved with the Jefferson United Methodist Church. He was a member of Tuscan Lodge #342, F. & A. M., Eastern Star, where he served at Grand Patron two times, member, soloist and served as president of the Ashtabula Messiah Chorus, member of the Jefferson Rotary Club since 1932 where he served as president, played the piano and received the Paul Harris Award. He enjoyed bowling, music and reading.
Surviving is a son, John E. (Doris J.) Glazier of Jefferson, a daughter, Mary G. (Jack J.) Hobbs of Chagrin Falls, four grandchildren, Jeffrey K. Hobbs, Jody E. Hayes, Robin G. Baker & James E. Glazier seven great-grandchildren & a brother, Russell Glazier of Cherokee Village, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Margaret in 1987, two grandsons, Robert John & Steven Gary Glazier and three sisters, Ruth Baker, Dorothy Glazier & Priscella Graves.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Friday at the Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. David T. Hill of the First Congregational United Church of Christ and Gordon Emerson, lay pastor at the Jefferson United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 9:30 – 11:00 A. M. prior to the service. Contributions may be made to the First Congregation United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, 41 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio 44047, envelopes will also be at the funeral home.

Ida M. Adams
Friday, December 6th, 2002
Ida M. Adams, 92 W. 48th St., Ashtabula, died early Thursday morning at the Ashtabula Co. Medical Center where she had been a patient the past two weeks.
She was born March 25, 1910 in Havanna, Alabama, the daughter of Warren and Carrie Marks and has been a resident of Ashtabula the past seven years coming from Cleveland.
Mrs. Adams worked in the Home Health field while living in Cleveland. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Cleveland.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Mack of Jefferson and two sister-in-laws, Dollie & Rae Marks, both of Cleveland and host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and four brothers.
Funeral services will be at11:00 A. M. Monday at the Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St. Jefferson, with Pastor Dave Chappell of the Central Missionary Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Ashtabula. No calling hours will be observed.

Andrew Joseph Obrenski
Wednesday, December 4th, 2002
Andrew Joseph Obrenski, age 3, infant son of Jack & Lynne (Fertig) Obrenski, Webster Rd., Lenox Twp., died Tuesday afternoon at their residence after being diagnosed six months ago with a Rhabdoid brain tumor, a very rare form of cancer with less than 200 cases diagnosed in the United States.
Andrew was born January 14, 1999 at Hillcrest Meredia Hospital in Cleveland.
The Obrenski family was involved at the First Baptist Church in Jefferson where Andrew loved Sunday school. His favorite joy was playing and aggravating his older brother, Lucas and being able to take him to school with his mom, he loved shopping at Walmart with his mom and grandparetns and going for rides in the car. Andrew’s favorite toys were Thomas the Tank Engine Trains, Winnie the Pooh and Hotwheels and he loved chicken nuggets, pizza and vanilla ice cream.
Surviving is his parents, Jack & Lynne M. (Fertig) Obrenski, his brother, Lucas John Obrenski, grandparents, Ken & Beverly Fertig of Jefferson & John & Gladys Obrenski of Rock Creek and a great-grandmother, Leola Rodgers of Jefferson.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A. M. Saturday at the Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. William L. Offutt of the First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Friday from 5-8 P. M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation, 1422 Euclid Ave., Suite 239, Cleveland, Ohio 44115 or to Give Kids the World, 210 S.
