Marianne M. Pinkney
Saturday, March 29th, 2003
Marianne M. Pinkney, 61, St. Rt. 46 South, Lenox Twp., died Friday evening at the Austinburg Nursing & Rehabilation where she had been a patient the past month. Mrs. Pinkney has been battling cancer with multiple complications the past four years.
She was born April 28, 1941 in Ashtabula, the daughter of Donald & Anna R. Holt and has been a resident of the Jefferson area all of her life. She was married to Barry D. Pinkney on June 26, 1970 in Everson Valley, Pa. Mrs. Pinkney was most recently employed with Combined Tactical Systems in Jamestown, Pa.
She was a member of the Lenox Federated Church and was a volunteer with the Ashtabula Co. Humane Society for 11 years and was a member of the National Wildlife Federation, she loved to play the organ, was a self taught artist, doing water colors and acrylics and also enjoyed yard work, gardening and bird watching.
Survivors include her husband, Barry D. Pinkney, three children, Dwayne R. Pinkney of Ashtabula, Kristine D. Berry of Lenox Twp. and Laura Simko of Jefferson and a brother, Carl Holt of Lowellville, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 A. M. at the Lenox Federated Church, 2610 Lenox-New Lyme Rd., Jefferson, Ohio 44047, with the Rev. Richard Neumann officiating. Burial will be in Lenox Center Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6-9 P. M. at the Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson. Contributions may be made to Lenox Federated Church Memorial Fund at the above address or envelopes will be at the funeral home.

Ruth M. Kazmersky
Wednesday, March 26th, 2003
Ruth M. Kazmersky, 78, a resident of the Silver Sands living facility on Lake Ave. in Ashtabula, died there on Tuesday afternoon.
She was born July 8, 1924 in Cleveland, the daughter of Alfred & Helen (Schrader) Vejdovec and was a resident of Jefferson since 1954, coming from Cleveland. She was a graduate of Garfield High School. She was married to John “Lou” Kazmersky on June 29, 1946 at Holy Name Church in Cleveland.
Mrs. Kazmersky is a member of St. Joseph Calasanctius Church and enjoyed reading, traveling, playing cards and bingo.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews, including Karen M. Dewey of Andover, Diann Phillips of Chardon and Janet R. Mortensen of Linesville, Pa., whom were Mrs. Kazmersky’s immediate caretakers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lou in 2000 and a brother, Robert Vejdovec.
The funeral mass will be Friday at 1:30 P. M. at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, 32 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Fr. Stephen Wassie officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 12-1:15 P. M. at the Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson. Contributions may be directed to the St. Joseph Calasanctius Church Memorial Fund, 32 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio 44047, envelopes and mass cards will be at the funeral home.

Genevieve A. Tamas
Wednesday, March 26th, 2003
Genevieve A. Tamas, 74, St. Rt. 46 South, Lenox Twp., died Wednesday morning at the Jefferson Geriatric Center where she had been a patient the past four years.
She was born December 2, 1928 in Brevort, Mich., the daughter of Arthur & Beatrice (Lewis) Day and has been a resident of the Jefferson area the past 60 years, coming from Buchtel, Ohio. She was married to Joseph Tamas, Jr. on March 20, 1948 at the Cherry Valley Church of the Nazarene.
She attended the Covenant Assembly of God Church in Jefferson and enjoyed reading and previously did baby-sitting.
Survivors include five children, Karen S. Lip of Logan, Ohio, Arthur D. Tamas of Jefferson, William J. Tamas of Roaming Shores, Ruth E. Cortwright of Haslet, Texas and Larry L. Tamas of Lenox Twp., nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one sister, Eloise Ritgers of New Straightsville, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph in 1994, brother, Robert Day, sisters, Ethel Hysell & Gladys Yates and siblings, James, Arthur & Doris all in infancy.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 31, 2003 at 11:00 A. M. at the Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. William Evans of the Covenant Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial will be in Rays Corners Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 10-11 A. M. at the funeral home.

Thomas J. Campbell
Wednesday, March 19th, 2003
Thomas J. Campbell, 80, E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, died Tuesday morning at his residence.
He was born September 10, 1922 in Richland, Ga., the son of Rufas & Olivia (Allen) Campbell and has lived in Rock Creek and Jefferson since 1969, coming from Shaker Heights. Mr. Campbell was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in World War II. He was a 28 year employee of the General Motors Corp., retiring in 1985.
He attended the Harvest International Church and was a former member of the V. F. W. Mr. Campbell was a handy man that could fix anything and when living in Cleveland, he owned Campbell’s Grinder Restaurant. He loved cooking, doing his famous barbecue and fishing.
Survivors include three children, E. Marie Augustin of Painesville, Marcus A. Campbell of Cincinnati & Monique C. Dudley of Jefferson, 11 grandchildren, his former wife, Elizabeth F. Campbell of Shaker Heights, one brother, Calvin Campbell of Hartford, Conn. & six sisters, Mattie Kimbrough, Willie Bell Green, Ida Freeman & Annie Bell Gary, all of Hartford, Conn., Mary Alice Grimes of Houston, Tex. & Helen Hooks of Cleveland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Delbert Smith, a grandson, Markus Jones, a brother, Clarence Campbell & three sisters, Mamie Campbell, Ludie Graham & Annie Maude Faulks.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 Noon Saturday at the Harvest International Church, 8625 St. Rt. 45, Saybrook Twp. with the Rev. Duane E. Ball of the church officiating. Following services, cremation will take place at the Care Group Cremation Center and burial of ashes will be in Morgan Union Cemetery, Rock Creek.
Calling hours will be Friday from 6-8 P. M. at the Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.

E. Lucille McIntire
Wednesday, March 19th, 2003
E. Lucille McIntire, 95, resident of Detroit, Michigan, died Tuesday at the Botsford General Hospital in Farmington, Mi.
She was born April 9, 1907 in Austinburg Twp., the daughter of Jacob L. & M. Lena (Millington)Racquet and has lived in Michigan most of her life.
Mrs. McIntire enjoyed reading and was family oriented, always helping and assisting her friends, which were her family outside her family, she was steadfast and was the stronghold of her deteriorating neighborhood in Detroit.
She is survived by William Potter of Vancouver, Wash., whom she treated as her grandson, six nieces and nephews, Robert Styles & Jane Loveridge both of Ashtabula, Richard Styles of Geneva, Charles Styles of Los Angles, Calif., Lois O’Malley of Tennessee and Mary Sue Wahl of New Jersey and several great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, Hilda, Muzetta, Ruth & Marie Raquet & Helen Styles and three brothers, George, Howard & Richard Raquet.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 P. M. Friday at the Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. David T. Hill of the First Congregational United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Ridgeview Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 12-1 P. M. prior to the service.

John D. Beavers
Tuesday, July 8th, 2003
John D. Beavers, 81, formerly of Washington Sq., Painesville, died Saturday evening at the Rae Ann Nursing Home in Geneva where he had been a patient the past year. He was born December 29, 1921 in English, W. Va., the son of Marion T. & Nancy J. Beavers. Mr. Beavers was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He worked several years as a tool and die maker in Colorado. He was a member of V. F. W., Post #2595 in Painesville. Survivors include six children, Mark W. Beavers of Ashtabula, Bradley D. Beavers of Saybrook Twp., G. Scott Beavers of Ashtabula, James B. Beavers of Geneva, Cheryl L. Beavers of Rock Creek & Debra A. Sidley of Jefferson and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings. No services or calling hours will take place at this time. Cremation took place at the Care Group Cremation Center. The Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, is handling arrangements.

Billy Joe Cole
Sunday, June 15th, 2003
Billy Joe Cole, 58, S. Spruce St., Jefferson, died early Sunday morning from a probable coronary.
He was born April 2, 1945 in White Sulphur Springs, W. Va., the son of William C. & Evelyn M. (Huffman) Cole and has been a resident of the Jefferson area most of his life. He was married to the former Doreen R. Budd on September 25, 1965 at the Jefferson United Methodist Church. Mr. Cole has been employed the past 30 years with Boczar Excavating and was employed with Bow Socket for 15 years prior to their closing.
Mr. Cole was a member of the Jefferson Eagles Aerie Lodge #3881, enjoyed working on his vehicles, formerly raced stock cars and loved being with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Doreen, four children, Darlynn R. (John) Howland of Williamsfield Twp., Joseph W. (Deana) Cole of Pierpont Twp., Carolyn A. (Phil) Pawlowski of Jefferson and Jacquelyn M. Cole of Kent, seven grandchildren, Kayla, Courtney, Levi, Abbey, Kate, Brooke & Cole, a sister, Martha Arnett of Webster, Fla. & a brother, James C. Cole of Ashtabula.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A service of remembrance will be held at 11:30 A. M. Wednesday, June 18 at the Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 6-9 P. M. and Wednesday from 10-11:30 A. M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions be made to the Jefferson Community & Recreation Center (for youth activities), 11 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio 44047. Envelopes will also be at the funeral home.
