Martha E. Cunningham
Wednesday, June 2nd, 2004
Martha E. Cunningham, 66, formerly of St. Rt. 6 in New Lyme Twp. and a 20 year resident of Madison, died early Wednesday morning at the Rae-Ann Nursing Home in Geneva where she had been a resident the past four and a half years.
She was born March 20, 1038 in Logan, W. Va., the daughter of Lawrence & Mary Jane (Jefferies) Adkins.
She moved to Rome Twp. in 1998 from Madison.
She is survived by her husband, Harry W. Cunningham, whom she married on March 3, 1956 in Muncie, Indiana, two children, Laura L. Sironen of Frenchburg, Ky. & Kenneth R. Cunningham of Hartsville, five grandchildren and a sister, Betty Mae Mogar of Las Vegas, Nev.
Two sons, Daniel W. Cunningham in 1991 and Michael E. Cunningham in 2000 preceded her in death.
No services or calling hours will be held. Cremation will take place at the Family Care Group Cremation Center.
The Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, is handling arrangements.

Rose M. Kusar
Wednesday, June 2nd, 2004
Rose M. Kusar, 93, Parkwood Dr., Euclid, died Tuesday evening at her sons residence on Forman Rd. in Austinburg Twp.
She was born October 26, 1910 in Cleveland, the daughter of Anton & Rose (Krasvic) Zakrajsek and has been a lifetime Euclid and Cleveland area resident. She was married to John A. Kusar on November 11, 1932 in Cleveland.
She was a member of St. William Catholic Church in Euclid.
Survivors include four children, Rosemarie L. Vonhof of Concord, Nancy J. Oros of Chardon, William M. Kusar and John E. Kusar, both of Austinburg Twp., nine grandchildren, Kim Marie Burger, John J. Vonhof, Jeffrey S. Vonhof, John A. Kusar, Eileen M. Stone, Charlene A. Kusar, David Oros, Daniel Oros & Deanna Huffman and seven great-grandchildren, Tim Palm, Joshua & John Kusar, Owen & Rebecca Stone & Lauren & Ethan Burger.
Private family services will be held Friday at the Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with Gordon Emerson, lay pastor of the Jefferson United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will follow in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon.
No calling hours will be observed.

Sarah Elizabeth Kness
Wednesday, June 2nd, 2004
Sarah Elizabeth Kness, 12, the daughter of William J. & Anita L. (Constantin) Kness of Sentinel Rd., Cherry Valley Twp., died Tuesday afternoon from injuries sustained from an accident with her horse.
She was born December 16, 1991 at Euclid Meredian Hospital and resided in Painesville prior to moving to Cherry Valley Twp. five years ago.
Sarah was a member of St. Joseph Calasanctius Church in Jefferson, the Wild ‘n’ Wooly 4-H Club, loved her horse and to draw, read and write. She was a girl with a great amount of self-confidence and loved people.
Besides her parents, William & Anita, she is survived by a sister, Laura A. Kness at home and a brother, Daniel O’Connor of Jacksonville, N. C., her grandparents, Emily F. Kness of Euclid and Anton & Dorothy Constantin of Orange Park, Fla. & several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Her grandfather, John R. Kness, preceded her in death.
Calling hours will be held from 12:00 to 1:15 P.M. on Friday at Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio.
The funeral mass will be held Friday at 1:30 P. M. at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, 32 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Fr. Stephen Wassie officiating. Burial will be in Cherry Valley Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family, in care of William & Anita Kness, 2615 Sentinel Rd., Dorset, Ohio 44032. The Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, is handling arrangements.

Earl G. Wright
Thursday, May 20th, 2004
Earl G. Wright, 77, of Clay St., Jefferson and also a resident of Dunnellon, Fla., died Tuesday morning at the Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala, Fla.
He was born November 2, 1926 in Ashtabula, the son of Burt & Clara (Fockler) Wright and has been a Conneaut and Jefferson area resident all of his life, wintering in Florida the past 12 years.
He was a graduate of Michigan State University and was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving in World War II. He was married to Helen R. Gollon on November 27, 1974 in Conneaut. Mr. Wright was a salesman for the Kennametal Corp. in Latrobe, Pa., retiring in 1992.
Mr. Wright was an avid hunter and fisherman, served as President of the Kingsville High School P.T.A.in 1957, was President of the Conneaut Rotary Club in 1959-1960 and was President of the Conneaut-Lakeville Chamber of Commerce in 1962.
Survivors include his wife, Helen R. Wright, two children, James Wright of Sheffield Twp. & Kathleen “Kitty” Dilauro of S. Euclid, three step-children, Sandra Rhoads of Ashtbula, Steven Rhoads of Tallahassee, Fla. & Marcie Rhoads Pollock of Montverde, Fla., two grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a brother, Lyle Wright of Mesa, Ariz. & two sisters, Lorna Davis of Kingsville Twp. & Irene Grabenstien of Savannah, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Joyce Dunn and a step-son, Michael Rhoads.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 A. M. Saturday at the Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Charles E. Althoff of St. John’s Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Friday from 7-9 P. M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to WCVJ Christian Radio Station, P. O. Box 112, Jefferson, Ohio 44047, envelopes will also be at the funeral home.

Helen M. Czayka
Tuesday, May 18th, 2004
Helen M. Czayka, 87, Mechanicsville Rd., Harpersfield Twp., died early Monday morning at her residence.
She was born April 29, 1917 in Cleveland, the daughter of Stanislaw & Rozalia (Gorniak) Molenda and has lived in Austinburg and Harpersfield Townships most of her life. She was a 1935 graduate of Geneva High School and was married to Steve Czayka on October 28, 1939 at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church in Jefferson.
Mrs. Czayka enjoyed gardening, reading, playing scrabble, dancing at Jewel’s Dance Hall in her early years and being with her family.
Survivors include three daughters, Rose-Ellen Czayka & Stephanie A. (Brent Mihalick) Czayka, both of Harpersfield Twp. & Connie B. (Dennis Tisdell) Earl of Mesa, Ariz., three grandchildren, Stephanie Sue Czayka, Vickie B. Burcham & Daniel S. Misener and two great-grandchildren, Jacob Fertig & Svetlana Misener, a sister, Genevieve Jesionowski of Austinburg Twp. and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Steve in 1975, a sister, Anna Gurgul and six brothers, Joseph, Casimir, John, Stanley, Felix & Mitchell Molenda.
The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A. M. Friday at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, 32 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Fr. Stephen Wassie of the church officiating. Burial will be in Small Mechanicsville Cemetery, Austinburg Twp.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 7-9 P. M. at the Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with prayer services at 8:45 P. M.

Lyle A. Cowan
Wednesday, May 12th, 2004
Lyle A. Cowan, 61, E. Erie St., Jefferson, died early Tuesday morning at the Jefferson Medical Associates (Jefferson Geriatric Center) after a lengthy illness with cancer.
He was born September 21, 1942 in Sidney Center, N. Y., the son of Raymond S. & Juanita V. (Griswold) Cowan and has resided in Jefferson since 1992, coming from San Jose, Calif.
Mr. Cowan was a model train, plane & car enthusiast and also radio controlled planes and computers.
Survivors include his father, Raymond S. Cowan of Jefferson, two sisters, DeEtta M. (Richard) Decker of Conneaut and Darla-Rae (Ronald) Harju of Jefferson and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita in 1996 and two brothers, Ronald Cowan in 1976 and Clinton Cowan in 1997.
Memorial services will be held Monday, May 17, 2004 at 8:00 P. M. at the Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson. No visitation will be observed. Contributions may be directed to the family in care of DeEtta Decker, 347 Jefferson St., Conneaut, Ohio 44030.

W. Troy Livingstone
Monday, May 10th, 2004
W. Troy Livingstone, 36, Jackson St., Jefferson, died unexpectedly Saturday at his residence.
He was born December 23, 1967 in Cleveland, the son of William H. & Mary Jo (Stiff) Livingstone and has lived in Jefferson the past three years, previously living in Geneva. He was a 1986 graduate of Madison High School and was an Ironworker with Ironworkers Local #17.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Madison and Jefferson Eagle Aerie Lodge #3881, was always active with his children, coaching both sons in baseball, loved bull riding, line dancing, fishing and collection antiques.
He is survived by his wife, Gina M. (DeMark) Livingstone, whom he married on September 21, 2002 in Jefferson, two sons, Dalton Wade Edwards & Ryan Christopher Matti, his parents, William & Mary Jo Livingstone of Eloy, Ariz. & two sisters, Cheryl A. Eubank of Geneva and Carol D. Brown of Eloy, Ariz.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 A. M. at the Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with Fr. Dave Ireland of St. Justin Martyr Church in Eastlake officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday evening from 6-9 P. M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family in care of Gina Livingstone, 248 Jackson St., Jefferson, Ohio 44047, envelopes will also be at he funeral home.
