Gordon H. Adams, 78 of Allen Ave. Ashtabula died Sunday (May 27th) at his home. He was born November 9, 1928 in Ashtabula the son of Lloyd E. and Olga M. (Alexander) Adams.
He was a 1946 graduate of Ashtabula High School. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict from October 1950 to August 1953. He retired in 1982 from General Tire.
Gordon enjoyed bowling and getting together with his co workers on Tuesday morning at the Lunch Box. He also enjoyed meeting his many friends at Allemans, Lakeway and Harbor McDonalds.. He also liked to ride his bike whenever he could.
He is survived by a sister, Katherine Drda of Kingsville; one niece, Loree Leslie of Ashtabula; two nephews, Mark (Emma) Drda of Dorset and Craig Drda of Kingsville. He also has five great nieces and nephews, Wendy Baker, Jennifer and Shelly Leslie, Eric and Jackie Drda; four great-great nieces and nephews, Julie and Erik Coy, Alexia Fisher and Jacob Woodworth; and two cousins, Barbara (Ronald) DiDonato and George (Juanita) Adams. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Glenn.
At his request there will be no calling hours or service. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 526 W. Prospect Rd. Ashtabula is in charge of arrangements.

Bonneita G. Luke

Bonneita G. Luke, 96 of Myrtle Ave. Ashtabula died Sunday (May 27th) at Villa At The Lake in Conneaut, Ohio. She was born June 14, 1910 in Ashtabula the daughter of Charles and Ina (Bromley) Cobb.
Mrs. Luke was a member of Harris memorial Presbyterian Church of Ashtabula. She was also a member of the Lake Shore Artist and taught china painting, she was also an antique dealer for many years.
Surviving her is a daughter, Patricia (Merle) Chambers of Ashtabula; two sons, Steven (Sally) Luke of Boise, Idaho and Thomas (Jan) Luke of Prescott, Arizona; eight grandchildren, Renee’ Houlihan of Arizona,, Debbie Cronrath of Phoenix, Arizona, Thomas Luke of Florida, Danny Luke of Oregon, Steven P. Luke of Florida, Diana Eyraud of New York and Darrel Chambers of Geneva; fourteen great grandchildren; two great- great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas C. Luke in 1974; two sisters, Nieta Grady and Lillian Rhonda and four brothers, Percy, Clarence, William and Robert Cobb and a granddaughter, Leah Luke.
Private Graveside services will be at Saybrook Cemetery with Tim Kraus officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave. Ashtabula, Ohio. The Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 526 W. Prospect Rd. Ashtabula is in charge of arrangements,

Margaret E. Sneary

Margaret (Kelly) Sneary, 88 of Woodman Ave. Ashtabula died Sunday (May 27th) in the Hospice Unit at Ashtabula County Medical Center. She was born November 4, 1918 in Thompson, Ohio the daughter of George W. and Florence (Rice) Kelly and was a lifetime resident of Ashtabula.
She married her husband Oren W. Sneary on May 31, 1939 and her funeral will be on their anniversary He had worked for the New York Central Railroad and on Conrail until his retirement in 1975.
Margaret was a 1937 graduate of North Kingsville High School and a 50 year member of the Pythian Sisters. She was active in the YMCA, in bowling, girl scouts and volunteering at the senior center and at Ashtabula County Medical Center.. She also worked at Carlisle’s warehouse for several years. She and her husband did much traveling during his 21 years of retirement.
Surviving her is her son, Dale W. (Kathy) Sneary of Mentor, Oh.. daughters, Alta M. Stingle and Sara K. Fink of Ashtabula; her sister Agnes (Emerson) Heinz of Chardon and brothers, William H. Kelly of Ashtabula and Jerry (Barbara) Kelly of Cleveland; thirteen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1997; her son Dean L. (Esther) Sneary in 2004; her sisters, Evelyn Loyd, Mary Ann Johnson, Dorothy Estep and brothers, George W. Kelly and John Joseph Kelly.
Funeral service will be Thursday (May 31st) at 2:00 PM at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 526 W. Prospect Rd. Ashtabula with Rev. Michael Legg of the First Church of the Nazarene officiating.
Calling hours will be Wednesday (tonight) from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home and on Thursday from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Church of the Nazarene, 1820 South Ridge Rd. West Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.

H. Bruce High
Tuesday, May 29th, 2007
H. Bruce High, 79of West 48th St. Ashtabula died Sunday (May 27th) at University Hospitals of Geneva. He was born September 30, 1927 in Cleveland, Ohio the Son of Howard C. and Erla Ida High and has lived in the Ashtabula area most of his life.
He was a 1946 graduate of Ashtabula High School; he attended Ohio State University and attended the Eastman Kodak School of Photography.
He was employed with Nichols Department Store for 16 years working as a salesman in the Photo Department.
Surviving him are his wife, Annabelle (Little) High whom he married on November 19, 1955; a brother, Clinton J. (Phyllis) High of New Jersey; two sisters, Doris (Clifford) Taft of Ashtabula and Janet (Paul) Lehmann of Geneva and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard High and Erla Ida (High) Smith and by a sister Faith High in infancy.
Funeral services will be Friday (June 1st) at 2:00 PM at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 526 W. Prospect Rd. Ashtabula with Rev. John Germaine of the First United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Thursday (May 1st) from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to the family.

Linda M. Huston
Monday, May 28th, 2007
Linda M. Huston, 53, W. Walnut St., Jefferson, died Sunday afternoon at the Carington Park Nursing Home in Ashtabula.
She was born July 27, 1953 in Ashtabula, the daughter of Calvin L. & Ruth E. (Shuart) Huston and has lived in Jefferson all of her life.
She was a graduate of Jefferson Area High School.
Ms. Huston worked as a part time attendant at Steven’s Laundry.
She was a member of the Jefferson United Methodist Church.
Ms. Huston is survived by a sister, Kathy J. (Scott) Camp of Williamsfield Twp., three nieces, Cindy, Debbie & Judy, great nieces & nephews, L. J., Ryan, Kasey, Brandon, Jordan, Heidi, Brittany & Alexander and a cousin who was her guardian, David Shuart of Ashtabula.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Thursday at the Jefferson Home of the Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson with the Rev. Meredith Coleman of the Jefferson United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 10-11 A. M. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed the Jefferson Area High School Athletic Boosters, 125 S. Poplar St., Jefferson, OH 44047, envelopes will also be at the funeral home.

Mildred R. Sylak
Friday, May 25th, 2007
Mildred R. Sylak, 87 of Roaming Shores, died Wednesday June 20th at the Hospice House of the Western Reserve in Cleveland, where she had been a patient for the past 11 days.
She was born on December 9, 1919 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Benjamin & Myrtle (Pabst) Harry and has lived in this area since 1972 coming here from Youngstown, Ohio. She married Stanley F. Sylak on January 12, 1939 in Youngstown, where she was a employee for the Youngstown Credit Bureau for 30 years before retiring.
Mildred was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Jefferson, and enjoyed sewing, reading, movies and traveling and especially loved being with her family.
She is survived by three children, Jean M. Sylak of Cleveland Hts., Judie D. (Robert Boggs) Sylak of Roaming Shores and Robert S. (Maureen) Sylak of Munson Twp., five grandchildren, Larissa Faulkner, Kelly Boggs, Kristin Boggs, Benjamin Sylak and Jonathan Sylak, seven great-grandchildren, Ali, Alexander, Andrew, Serena, Cooper, Sydney and Aiden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Stanley in 1988, brothers, Charles Harry & Warren Harry in childhood.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 30th at 1:00 P.M. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Jefferson, 41 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson with the Rev. William Spangler officiating.
Burial of ashes will be held at Morgan Union Cemetery in Rock Creek.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Jefferson home of the Fleming & Billman Funeral Homes, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Stanley & Mildred Sylak Memorial Endowment at the First Congregational United Church of Christ or to the charity of your choice. Envelopes will be available at the church.

Roger A. Camp

Roger A. Camp, 65 of Footville-Richmond Rd. Lenox Twp. died Monday (August 18th) at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
He was born October 14, 1942 in Chardon, Ohio the son of Harold Frederick and Martha A. (Gaylord) Camp and has been a lifetime area resident.
He was a veteran of the Army during the early 1960’s. He enjoyed listening to music, fishing and family picnics.
He had been employed with Glastics Corporation of Jefferson for twenty fours prior to his retirement.
Surviving him are his wife, Mary Jane Camp whom he married October 8, 1974; a son Allen Roger (Rebecca) Camp of Lorain, Ohio; a daughter, Hallie Shipley of Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio five step children, Bennett Norfleet of Ashtabula, Mark Eimers of North Kingsville, Donna Jean Ramey of Florida, Brenda Ramey of Florida and Antonia Ramey of Lenox Twp; several grandchildren, two brothers, Richard (Dorothy) Camp of Geneva and Bill (Barb) Camp of Hartsgrove; and two sisters, Jeanette (Francis) Brewer of Ashtabula and Edith Sanborn of Ashtabula.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
At Mr. Camp’s request there will be no services.
The Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 49 West Jefferson St. Jefferson is in charge of arrangements.
