Mary Ann (Blicha) Baka, age 75 of Lakewood, Ohio, died peacefully at her niece, Lynette’s residence in Dorset, Ohio early Friday morning. She was born on February 23, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Vasil & Mary (Varga) Blicha.
She was a resident of Lakewood, Ohio since 1987 and worked as a nurse for Lutheran Hospital for over 30 years until her retirement in 2002. She enjoyed gardening, going to yard sales and going out to lunch with friends. In 2011 she moved to Ashtabula County to live with her niece Lynette who was taking care of her.
She is survived by her niece Lynette (Lee) Crawford and their children, Lyle (fiancée, Jordan) and Lawra, a nephew Lawrence (Amy) Jenick and their children, Julia, Jessica, Jenica, and Stuart, and niece Lisa Marie (Eddie) Costella.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Steve Baka, sister Rose Marie Joswick and a brother William Blicha.
Funeral Services will be held Monday (Aug. 5th) at 11:00 A. M. at Saint Mary Byzantine Church, 4600 State Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44109 with Rev. Steven Koplinka officiating. Burial will take place in Holy Spirit Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Saint Mary Byzantine Church, 4600 State Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44109 or to the ACAPL, 5970 Green Road, Kingsville, Ohio 44048. The Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors & Crematory, 49 West Jefferson Street, Jefferson, is handling the arrangements.

Evelyn M. Taft
March 9, 1926 - August 2, 2013
Services: August 7th, 2013 at 11:00 A. M.
Evelyn M. Taft, age 87 of East 26th Street, Ashtabula, (formerly of Jefferson) died Friday at the Country Club Retirement Center. She was born March 9, 1926 in Andover, Ohio, the daughter of Melvin & Louise (Cobb) Eastlake.
Evelyn worked for the Jefferson High School as a cafeteria supervisor for over 30 years before retiring. She enjoyed bowling, camping, playing cards, shuffleboard and needlepoint. She was a snowbird and enjoyed spending her winter months in Florida. However, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the love of her life.
She is survived by her children: Cheryl K. (Willie) Meardith of Orlando, FL, Roberta L. Young of Roanoke, VA, Linda L. (Robert) Langston of Goshen, OH, Richard R. (Debra Druhot) Taft of North Port, FL, Robert C. (Ann) Taft of Jefferson and Carla R. Sires of Everett, WA; a sister Marrietta (Gordon) Totten of Cortland, OH; a brother Charles Eastlake of Chugiak, AK; 13 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carl R. Taft in 1995, and five siblings.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday (Aug. 7) at 11:00 A. M. at the Jefferson Church of the Nazarene, 55 E. Satin Street, Jefferson with Pastor Shirley Deemer officiating. Burial will take place in Oakdale Cemetery in Jefferson.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 P. M. at the Nazarene Church in Jefferson. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, OH, 44004 or to DSAV ( Down Syndrome Association of the Valley, 945 Boardman-Canfield Road, Suite 12, Boardman, OH 44512, envelopes will be available at the church.

Virgina H Lyberger
December 27, 1920 - July 30, 2013
Services: August 5th, 2013 at 1:00 PM
Virginia H. Lyberger, 92 of Kingsville died Tuesday (July 30th) at the Villa On The Lake in Conneaut, Ohio. She was born December 27, 1920 in Danville, Illinois the daughter of Will and Vessa DeMoss.
She is a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Ashtabula; the White Shrine of Jerusalem of Coffeyville, Kansa; the Order of Eastern Star of Coffeyville; the Times Club in Ashtabula and the New Era Club of Kingsville.
She enjoyed word puzzles; making Latched Hook rugs and Crocheting.
Surviving her is a brother, Billy DeMoss of Baldwin, Kansas ; a sister, June Nance of Parson, Kansas; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John E. Lyberger in 1981; her son, John Douglas Lyberger in 1980; a brother, Leo DeMoss and three sisters, Marie, Jewel and Jean DeMoss.
Funeral service will be Monday (August 5th) at 1:00 PM at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 526 West Prospect Rd. Ashtabula with Rev. Dr. Stephen Long of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
Calling hour will be Monday from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to The First Presbyterian Church or to Hospice of the Western Reserve 1166 Lake Ave. Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.

Vance A. Hinkle
Services: at 11:00 AM
Vance A. Hinkle, age 50, E. Union Rd., Lenox Twp., died Saturday evening at his residence from complications of ALS-Lou Gehrig’s disease.
He was born April 25, 1958 in Ashtabula, the son of John Andrew & Margaret J. (Crew) Hinkle and has lived in the Jefferson area all of his life. He was married to Wendy M. Beebe on December 24, 1990 in Jefferson. Mr. Hinkle was a car salesman for many years for Nassief & Crandall Ford. He was currently employed with Praxair in Canton.
He was a charter member of Harvest International Church where he served in many capacities, including vice-chairman of the board. Vance was also very involved with his wife at Harvest Metro Church, the inner city ministry of HIC, and enjoyed the many opportunities where he volunteered in outreach events to minister to the broken and fractured lives of Ashtabula City. He was a wonderful spiritual leader and example to his family, church and community. Vance’s greatest reward was seeing people of Ashtabula City give their lives to the Lord and to be discipled in developing and strengthening their daily walk in Christ.
He was a member of the Jefferson Conservation Club and the NRA. He enjoyed camping, hunting, working on cars and going to stock car races. His most favorite time was with his children, whether it was family time at home, school plays or sporting events, they brought him so much love and joy.
Survivors include his wife, Wendy, five children, Benjamin, Blake, Colton, Lukas & Ariel, his mother, Margaret J. Hinkle of Jefferson & a brother, Jack A. (Marsha) Hinkle of Lenox Twp.
He was preceded in death by his father, J. Andy Hinkle in 1996.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 A. M. at the Harvest International Church, 8623 Center Rd. (St. Rt. 45), Saybrook Twp., with the Rev. Duane E. Ball officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 12-2 & 6-8 P. M. at the Jefferson Home of the Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Harvest International Church, c/o their business office, 604 W. 57th St., Ashtabula, OH 44004.

Robert E. Enos
January 1, 1929 - January 21, 2009
Services: January 24th, 2009 at 3:30 AM
Robert E. Enos, age 80, Sheffield Rd., Sheffield Twp., died Wednesday morning at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Hts.
He was born January 1, 1929 in Ashtabula, the son of Manuel A. & Marion J. (Fassett) Enos, Sr. and has been an Ashtabula Co. resident all of his life. Mr. Enos was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict. He is a retired employee of Glenbeigh Hospital and formerly worked at the Donahoe Center.
Mr. Enos is a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and enjoyed flower gardening, fishing, woodworking and being with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce A. (Buchtinec) Enos, whom he married on June 21, 1975 in Plymouth Twp., a son, Claude L. (Roberta) Kobernik of Sheffield Twp., two grandsons, Nicholas & Bradley Kobernik, five brothers, William & Roy Enos of Ashtabula, Manuel Enos of Cincinnati, Charles Enos of Florida, & William Peterson of Florida and a sister, Joan Taylor of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five sisters, Winifred Peterson, Mary Estes, Patricia Prince, Joyce Sawyer & Christa Lee Gilmer.
Services will be held Saturday at 3:30 P. M. at the Jefferson Home of the Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson with the Rev. Fr. Joseph Ruggeri officiating.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 2-3:30 P. M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family, envelopes will be at the funeral home. Guest register book and obituary on-line at fleming-billman.com.

William B. Brainard
September 3, 1926 - January 18, 2009

William B. “Bill” Brainard, age 82, Kathleen Dr., Jefferson, died Sunday evening at his residence following complications with cancer.
He was born September 3, 1926 in Ashtabula, the son of Harold A. & Alma W. (Whiting) Brainard and has lived in Lenox Twp. and Jefferson all of his life. Mr. Brainard was a graduate of Jefferson High School and was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving in World War II. He was married to Elizabeth J. “Betty” Oliver on August 19, 1950 in Jefferson and they have been married for 58 years.
Mr. Brainard’s work history started at Reliance Electric where he was the Federal Marine Coordinator form 1952-1972. From 1972-1989 he was an Expeditor Agent in the transporting steel industry, working for George Transfer, Riverside Transport, Besel Transportation & Transall. Following his formal retirement in 1989 Bill has worked part-time at Hickory Grove Golf Course and has been a driver and assistant with Fleming Funeral Home and now the Fleming & Billman Funeral Homes the past 19 years.
He attended the Eagleville Bible Church, was a member of the American Legion, VFW Post #3334, the Army-Navy Union, the East Ashtabula Club & former member and past president of the Jefferson Exchange Club. Bill was always involved in athletics, previously coaching Little League, Pony League & American Legion Baseball. He was the organizer of Clinton Drugs Basketball team where he played and managed, he played baseball for Andover AC and for Meade Motors in Jefferson. His softball teams he played for included Hershey Products in Ashtabula & Jefferson Bank, Cozier Container & Lawson Grocery in Jefferson.
Bill was an avid Jefferson Area High School sports fan and ran the clock for Jefferson football games for many years. He was a referee and football official for OHSAA for 30 years, serving as president of NEOA Association in 1962 and was past commissioner of the Grand River Conference. Mr. Brainard was a charter member of the Hall of Fame Committee and was inducted in the Ashtabula County Football Hall of Fame in 2007.
Survivors include his wife, Betty, two sons, Richard W. Brainard of Las Vegas, NV and Scott A. (Sheri) Brainard of Austin, TX, daughter-in-law, Karen Brainard of Columbus, three grandsons, Shaun (Fiancee`, Karlie Schnieder) Brainard and Chad (Amber) Brainard both of Columbus and Ryan Brainard of Austin, TX and his step-mother, Dee Brainard Moore of Lenox Twp.
He was preceded in death by parents, Harold in 1985 & Alma Floris in 1989, step-father, Al Floris in 1983, sister, Jean Landi in 1999 and half-brother, Bobby Brainard in 1989.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 A. M. at the Jefferson Home of the Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with Pastor Bill McMinn of the Eagleville Bible Church officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery where Geneva Post #6846 and Jefferson Post #3334 will provide full military honors. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 P. M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eagleville Bible Church Building Fund, 2373 Eagleville Rd., Jefferson, OH 44047 or to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, OH 44004.
