Harold Arnold
Harold K. "Shorty" Arnold, 77, Barnesville, Ohio, died Saturday at OVMC in Wheeling, W. Va. He was born Oct. 7, 1925 in Fairview, Ohio, son of the late Roy and Cora Brock Arnold.
He served on the Barnesville Volunteer Fire Dept. for 36 years including 25 years as Fire Chief, before retiring in 1999. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of Fairview Methodist Church. He was a 50 year member and past master of Friendship Lodge #89 F&AM; Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge; and member of Belmont Co. LEPC and EOC Board.
Preceded in death by his wife, Nellie M. Baker Arnold, brother, Clyde Arnold and sister Shirley Ilene Arnold.
Surviving are his daughter, Patty Wees and husband Dennis of Barnesville; brother, Kenny Arnold of Florida; sisters, Marian Bohandy and Mildred Beck, both of Barnesville; and three grandchildren, Bradley Wees of Columbus, Ohio, Brent (Lorrissa) Wees of Flushing, Ohio and Brian (Army) Wees of Bethesda, Ohio.
Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday and services at 11 a.m., Thursday at Campbell - Plumly - Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio, with Rev. Frank Ledvinka officiating. Burial follows in Crestview Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Barnesville Volunteer Fire Dept.
military graveside services conducted by Belmont County Veterans Council of VFW.

Mary Meager
Mary Baroch Meager, 85, of 32nd Street, Shepherd Arms Apartments, Bellaire, Ohio, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003 at Heartland Lansing Care Center, Bridgeport.
Mary was born April 14, 1918 at Bellaire, Ohio, the daughter of the late Karel and Lena Adamek Baroch.
She was a member of the Bellaire United Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Meager on July 25, 1994; her two brothers, Carl and Rudy Baroch; her daughter-in-law, Sandra Jo Meager, Aug. 30, 1987.
Mary is survived by her son, Arnold L. Meager of Bridgeport, Ohio; her brother, Frank Baroch of Las Vegas, Nevada; her sister, Irene Mokros of Bellaire, Ohio; her two grandson, Jay Meager and his wife Dana of Bridgeport, Ohio, Kevin Meager and his wife Jackie of Elida, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, Ohio, where services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Donald G. Upson, officiating.
Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Bellaire, Ohio.
Memorial contributions in Mary's memory may be made to the Bellaire Emergency Squad.

Cali Zbysienski
Cali Marie Zbysienski, infant daughter of Michael and Heather Marie Ambrose Zbysienski of Neffs, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003 in East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by paternal great-grandfather, John F. Zbysienski.
Surviving in addition to her parents, are paternal grandparents, John Thomas Zbysienski of Wheeling and Belle Jeffers of Zepher Hills, Florida; maternal grandparents, William Ambrose of Kinsman, Ohio and Lesly Flowers of Courland, Ohio; paternal great grandmother, Brenda Joyce Zbysienski of Neffs; maternal great grandparents, Harold and Mary Weese of Kinsman, Ohio; paternal great-great grandmother, Mary Jane Olinski of Neffs.
Friends received at the Bauknecht - Altmeyer Funeral Home, 441 37th Street, Bellaire, Ohio, Tuesday, 11 a.m., until time of services at 1 p.m., with Father Gary Zalenski, officiating. Interment in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.

Clara Aspenwall
Clara Waller Aspenwall, 76, of Mt. Pleasant, Ohio, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003 at Wheeling Medical Center.
She was born July 30, 1927 in Piney Fork, Ohio, daughter of the late John "Jack" and Zenita Harriman Waller.
Clara was a member of the Dillonvale Presbyterian Church where she served as a trustee and was a graduate of Smithfield High School.
In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and John Waller.
Surviving are her husband, William Aspenwall; one son, Timothy Aspenwall of Bethesda and St. Petersburg, Fla.; one daughter, June Rhodes of Naples, Fla.; and two grandsons, Eric and Alex Rhodes of Powder Springs, Georgia.
Clara's visitation will be held Tuesday, 7 to 9 p.m., at Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second St., Dillonvale, Ohio. Friends are then invited to attend her funeral services on Wednesday at 10 a.m., at the mausoleum chapel of Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio, with Reverend Mary Jane Knapp officiating.
Memorial contributions in Clara's memory may be made to the Dillonvale Presbyterian Church, 52 Smithfield St., Dillonvale, Ohio 43917.

Clyde Yockey
Clyde E. "Jack" Yockey, 88, of Lewisville, Ohio, died Sept. 28, 2003.
Visitation, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, with services at 11 a.m., Wednesday, at Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, Ohio.

Jennie Beavon
Jennie E. Beavon, 59, of 14 East 36th St., Shadyside, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003, in Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling.
She was born Oct. 30, 1943 in Bellaire, a daughter of Violet E. Germania Gross, a resident of Shadyside and the late Robert R. Gross.
Jennie was a retired registered nurse from Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio and attended The Lincoln Avenue United Methodist Church in Shadyside.
Surviving, in addition to her mother a resident of Shadyside, is a son Jason Beavon of Naperville, Ill.; two step-sons, Kevin (Tonya) Beavon of Ketterington, Ohio and Clark (Melanie) Beavon of Franklin, Tenn.; two step-grandsons and two step-granddaughters.
Friends received Saturday 6 - 8 p.m., Sunday 2 - 4 p.m and 6 - 8 p.m., at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home, 441 37th St., Bellaire, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, with Rev. Donald Perks officiating.
Interment in Belmont County Memorial Park.

Alfred Fankhauser
Alfred Fankhauser, 89, of Market Street, Clarington, Ohio, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003, in Belmont Community Hospital.
He was born March 2, 1914, in Clarington, the son of the late Luther and Edna Stieb Fankhauser.
He was a retired postmaster for Clarington, a member of Clarington United Methodist Church, Osiris Temple in Wheeling, Valley of Cambridge Scottish Rite, Clarington Eastern Star and Masonic Lodge, American Legion Post 760 in Hannibal, and a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of World War II and Korea.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Katherine Roberts Fankhauser, and a son Andrew Roberts Repco.
Survivors include his wife Mary Craig Fankhauser; three daughters Karen (Robert) Fankhauser-Hawkins of Virginia, Jean (Don) Gehrig of Clarington, Cathy (Bob) Watson of Shadyside; one son, Craig (Terri) Ollom of Powhatan; one brother Russell Fankhauser of Woodsfield; 8 grandchildren, Kirk (Pam) Fankhauser, Amy (Tom) McFarland, Christina (Jason) Henthorn, Ann (Brian) Smith, Brian Gehrig, Matthew Gehrig, Natalie Gehrig, Chad Ollom; five great-grandchildren; Shaye Fankhauser, Joshua and Robbie McFarland, Kayla and Brian Smith.
Family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home, 125 Clarinda Dr., Clarington, where services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m., with Rev. Richard Wilson and Rev. Wendy Erb officiating.
Masonic and Eastern Star services will be held on Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
Interment in Clarington Cemetery, Clarington, Ohio, where American Legion Post 760 will perform military graveside services.

Lydia Foster
Lydia F. Wheatly Foster, 87, of Dalton, Ohio; formerly of Shadyside, Ohio, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003 at the home of her brother in Barnesville, Ohio.
Lydia was born Oct. 20, 1915 at Barnesville, Ohio, the daughter of the late William C. and Nellie Hennings Wheatley.
She was a retired registered nurse from the former Bellaire City Hospital.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John Foster and two sisters, Blanche King and Luci Marmie.
Lydia is survived by her two brothers, John Wheatley of Barnesville, Ohio, Walter Wheatley of St. Clairsville, Ohio; her nieces and nephews, Charles A. Wilson of St. Clairsville, Ohio, Richard King of Moundsville, W. Va., Joseph Livorno of Fairborn, Ohio, John Livorno of Columbus, Ohio, Ronald Stephens of LasVegas, Nevada, The Rev. Jeff Wheatley of Cincinnati, Ohio, Becky Schindler of Liberty Center, Ohio, Joanne Davis and Willa Schreffler, both of Minerva, Ohio, Carol Eberhard of San Diego, Calif., Glady Ackerman of Barnesville, Ohio, Loa Prout of Balitmore, Maryland, and Helen Mann of Las Vegas, Nevada; several great nieces and great nephews.
Friends are invited to attend the visitation at the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, Ohio, on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m., with Lydia's nephew, The Rev. Jeff Wheatley, officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
