AGNES G. (KUNCZT) ZUPKO
AGNES G. (KUNCZT) ZUPKO, 86, of Colerain, Ohio, died Friday, July 6, 2001, at East Ohio Regional Long Term Care, Martins Ferry, Ohio.
She was born in Carmen, Ohio on Saturday, September 26, 1914, a daughter of the late Michael J. and Anna V. Berher Kunczt.
Agnes was a retired cook for East Ohio Regional Hospitaal and a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Colerain, Ohio.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Paul P. Zupko, four brothers; George, Joseph, Michael and Anthony Kunczt, three sisters; Gazella Stanko, Anna Kunczt and Lena Muldowney.
Agnes is survived by her daughter, Pauline A. Neely, Wellsburg, W. Va., a son, James P. Zupko, Colerain, Ohio, her daughter, Marilyn K. Zupko, with whom she resided, four grandchildren including her beloved granddaughter, Lynna Neely, two great-grandchildren, her sister Marie Parker, Pittsburgh, Pa., several nieces and nephews and her extended family Ann and Dr. Ortiz of Colerain, Ohio.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was Celebrated Monday, July 9, 2001, at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Colerain, Ohio with Father Thomas Magary as the celebrant.
Interment followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, Martins Ferry, Ohio.

JAMES E. OLDENBURG
JAMES E. OLDENBURG, 55, of Hanover Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Tuesday, September 24, 2002, at his residence.
Jim was born on Friday, November 22, 1946, the son of the late Edward Oldenburg and Evelyn (Buffington) Lecher who survives him of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
He was a retired truck driver for West Side Trucking, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He served two enlistments in the U. S. Army and two tours of duty in Vietnam, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Vietnam Service Medal. He also served a tour of duty in the U. S. Coast Guard. He was a member of the V.F.W., St. Clairsville Post and the Disabled American Veterans of Bellaire.
In addition to his father Jim was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Balistrieri.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Shirley (Kilgore) Oldenburg, four daughters; Melissa Oldenburg, Reston, Va., Krista Ruhland and her husband, Aaron of Columbia, S. C., Catherine Oldenburg of the home, Jamie Clark, Maryland, one sister, Kathryn Rohde and her husband Gerald of New Port Richie, Fl. Also surviving are one grandson, Alex Oldenburg, Reston, Va. and one granddaughter, Myssiah Heath of Martins Ferry. Also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 27, 2002, with Rev. William O. Webster officiating.
Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va., with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Martins Ferry Christian School, 710 So. Zane Highway, Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935.

RUTH ELIZABETH (WAGNER) COSS
RUTH ELIZABETH (WAGNER) COSS, 87, of Vine Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio, formerly of Colerain died Saturday, September 21, 2002 at East Ohio Regional Long Term Care.
She was born in Wheeling, W. Va. on Monday, February 1, 1915, a daughter of the late Charles E. and Lucretia (Meek) Wagner.
Ruth was a member of the Colerain Presbyterian Church, Colerain, Ohio where she served as an Elder and taught Sunday School. She also was a member of the Womens Bowling Association and a life long Purple Riders Athletics Booster.
In addition to her parent, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester M. Coss, one daughter, Sandra Lou Brown, three brothers; Charles, Robert and Paul Wagner and also one infant grandson, William Coss.
Surviving are three sons; Charles E. Coss and his wife, Diana of Steubenville, Chester C. Coss and his wife Mary of McMechen, W. Va. and Dennis Coss of Martins Ferry, one sister, Betty Lou Briggs, McMechen, W. Va., one nephew, John Briggs, Warwood, W. Va., one daughter in law, Carol A. Coss of Moundsville, W. Va., four grandsons; Charles M. Coss of Steubenville, Mark Coss and T. J. Coss of Moundsville, Scott Coss of Cameron, W. Va., one granddaughter, Michelle Coss of Steubenville and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 25. 2002 at Colerain Presbyterian Church, Colerain, Ohio,with the Rev. Thomas Arstrong officiating. Interment followed in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.

GEORGE STRIZAK, JR.
GEORGE STRIZAK, JR., 81, of Barton Road, Colerain, Ohio, died Monday, October 28, 2002, at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, W. Va.
He was born on Wednesday, March 16, 1921, a son of the late George and Julia Timko Strizak.
He was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., Martins Ferry plant.
He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and received the Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, American Theater Service Medal and a Purple Heart.
He was a member of the Eagles and D.A.V., both of Bellaire, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Michael, John and Steve Strizak; and a granddaughter, Jill Marie Strizak.
Surviving are his wife, Olga Diaz Strizak; a son, George J. Strizak and his wife, Phyllis, of Cincinnati, Ohio; a brother, Joseph Strizak and his wife, Marge, of Bellaire, Ohio; a grandson, Ryan Strizak; two granddaughters, Sharon and Michelle Strizak, all of Cincinnati.
Funeral services were held at the funeral home Friday, November 1, 2002 at 11 a.m.
Interment followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Bellaire, Ohio, with full military honors by the Belmont County Council of the American Legion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Frances Cabrini Church Memorial Fund, P. O. Box 38, Colerain, Ohio 43916.

BETTY E. (PORTER) MYERS
BETTY E. (PORTER) MYERS, 85, of Sharon Road, Colerain, Ohio, died Friday, November 29, 2002, at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, Ohio.
She was born in Wheeling, W. Va., on Sunday, August 12, 1917, the daughter of the late James A. and Eulus (Crebs) Porter.
She was raised by her maternal aunt Hilda Porter.
She was retired from the former G. C. Murphey Co., Wheeling, W. Va.
Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Friendly Class of the church of Martins Ferry, Ohio and a member of the Eastern Star and former member of the Wheeling Symphony.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Donald S. Myers; one daughter Mareth Martini; two brothers, James and Raymond Porter and one son-in-law, John Kaiser.
Betty is survived by one son, James Myers and his wife Cheryl of Pleasant Grove, Ohio; two daughter, Donna L. Kaiser and Nancy Myers,both of Colerain, Ohio; two sister-in-laws, Ruth Fitch, Harrisville, Ohio and Lucille Myers, St. Clairsville, Ohio; son-in-law Robert Martini, Glendale, W. Va.
She is also survived by 9 grandchildren Melissa Patterson, Brenda Kaiser, Brian Kaiser, Denise Tennant, Lisa Wilson, Robert Martini, Jr., Jamie Myers, Chad Myers and Jeff Myers and 12 great grandchildren, Justin Patterson; Veronica, Zachary and Katie Novak; Michael, Steven, Mark and Robbie Tennant; J. R. and Camryn Wilson; Connor and Emily Myers.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 3, 2002, at 11 A. M., with Pastor Van D. Fisher officiating.
Interment followed in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
Family request donations to American Institute for Cancer Research, 1759 R Street, N.W., P. O. Box 97167, Washington, D.C. 20090-7167.

RAY E. DAWKINS
RAY E. DAWKINS, 75, formerly of Martins Ferry and Belmont, Ohio, died Saturday, December 7, 2002 at Crestview Health Care Center, St. Clairsville, Ohio.
He was born in Bellaire, Ohio on Sunday, June 19, 1927, a son of the late Rose V. Dawkins.
Ray was retired from R. & F. Coal Co, Cadiz, Ohio.
He served in the U. S. Army during World War II.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one daughter Elizabeth Rose Dawkins.
Surviving are his wife, Ina Jo (Walton) Dawkins; two sons, Kenneth Dawkins and his wife, Earlene of Pleasant Grove, Ohio; Richard R. Dawkins and his wife, Cheryl of Middlebourne, Ohio; two daughters, Joyce L. Moulton and her husband John of Martins Ferry, Ohio; Judith L. Faust and her husband Jeff of Brownsburg, Ind.; sister, Wanda Young of Bridgeport; two grandsons, Richard Dawkins, Paris, Texas and John Dawkins, Middlebourne.
Also surviving are two great grandsons.
Funeral services were held at the convenience of the family. Interment followed in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry, Ohio.
Family request donations to American Lung Assoc. of Ohio, 1950 Arlingate Lane, Columbus, Ohio 43228 or Black Diamond Girl Scout Council, 2106 Lumber Ave., Wheeling, W. Va. 26003.

JOSEPH PERONI
JOSEPH PERONI, 83, of Delia Ave., Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Sunday, December 22, 2002, in East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry.
He was born in Glenco, Ohio on Saturday, December 13, 1919, son of the late Dominic and Dora Peroni.
Joseph was the former owner of Select Market, Martins Ferry.
He also served two enlistments as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence and Elmer Peroni; and two sisters, Irene Davenport and Alice Emmett.
Surviving are two daughters, Heidi Vail, wife of Charles of Morsehead, N.Y. and Debra King of Wheeling, W. Va.; one brother, Samuel Peroni, husband of Kay of Martins Ferry; three sisters, Jennie Bartok, wife of Alex of Rayland, Ohio, Inez Jasenac, wife of John, of Brilliant, Ohio and Nancy Peroni of St. Clairsville, Ohio; and one grandson, Garett M. Vail of Boston, Mass.
Funeral service and interment in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio, were held at the convenience of the family.
