Janet DeFelice
Janet A. DeFelice, 85, of Bel-Capri Apartments, Bellaire, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004 in Wheeling Hospital. She was born March 2, 1918 in Adrain, Upshur County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Ralph M. Wilfong and Lillie Simmons Baker.
Janet was a retired waitress at several Ohio Valley Night Clubs and a life member of the Sons of Italy #754 of Bellaire.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger H. DeFelice Sr., in 1986.
Surviving are a son, Roger H. DeFelice, Jr., and his wife Mary, of Bellaire; several cousins, family members and friends.
Friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home and Crematory, 441 37th Street, Bellaire, Friday noon until time of service at 1 p.m., with Pastor Donald Cordery officiating.
Interment in Powhatan Cemetery, Powhatan Point, Ohio.
Memorial contributions to the donor's choice.

John R. Diehl
John Robert Diehl, 71, of High Street, Benwood, W. Va., died Tuesday Feb. 24, 2004 at his home.
John was born June 12, 1932 in Wheeling, a son of the late Elmer F. and Anna Heffron Diehl.
He was a retired roofer for Mansuetto Roofing, was a member of St. James Catholic Church, McMechen, where he was a former altar server and was a U.S. Army and Marine Veteran of the Korean War. He was also a member of the V.F.W., American Legion, Cave Club, Wheeling and Alcoholics Anonymous.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Diehl and two sisters, Mary Swanek and Catherine Diehl.
Surviving are his loving wife of 34 years, Patricia Ann Olnick Diehl; a daughter, Michelle Nolan and her husband Jerry of Bridgeport; three sons, Harold Gregory Olnick of Richmond, Va., Paul Ishmael McCombs of Milwaukee, Wisc., and Isaac Newton McCombs of Wheeling; a brother, Charles E. Diehl of Wheeling; four sisters, Anna Kohler and her husband Charles of McMechen, Agnes Miller and her husband John of Elm Grove, Jacqueline Hunt of Wheeling and Dolores Grzben and her husband Daniel of Baltimore, MD; four grandchildren, Jerry Jr., Sean, Gabrielle and Nicholas Nolan and several other grandchildren, nieces and nephews. John was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by all.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 214 Marshall Street, McMechen, where a vigil service will be held at 3:45 p.m., Friday.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004 at St. James Catholic Church, McMechen, with the Rev. Joseph Hayden S.J. as celebrant. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, with full military honors provided by the Moundsville Veterans Honor Guard.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to either St. James Catholic Church, McMechen, or Valley Hospice.

Virginia Rogers
Virginia C. Rogers, 78, Porter, Texas, formerly of Piedmont, Ohio, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004 at Pine Shadow Nursing Home in Porter, Texas. She was born May 25, 1925 at Brookside, Ohio, daughter of the late Steve and Zelma Bost Pitner.
She was a Presbyterian by faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Rogers (Oct. 2000); four brothers, Andrew, George, William and Steve Jr. Pitner; and a sister, Doris Cameron.
Surviving are two sons, Danny Swabado and his wife, Carrie, Spring, Texas and William Swabado Jr. and his wife, Betty, of Porter, Texas; a daughter, Carol Ann Wynn and her husband, David, of Spring, Texas; three brothers, Ronald and his wife, Nancy, of St. Clairsville, Duane, of Bethesda, Ohio and Jack, and his wife, Frances, Panama City, Florida; two sisters, Juanita Zeroski and her husband, Ted, of Ramsy, Ohio, Ramona Zelent and her husband, Art, of Adena, Ohio; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Friends will be received Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Adena, Ohio, where services will be held Saturday morning at 11 a.m., with Rev. Robert Merritt officiating. Burial follows at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.

Shirley Neuman
Shirley Ann Neuman (nee Miller), 68, of Cleveland, Ohio, and formerly of Wheeling, West Virginia, beloved wife of Wilbert J. Neuman; loving Mother of David Neuman (Linda), Sharon Eckhardt, Deborah Sidol (John), and Terry Neuman (Estrella); dearest grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of two; dear sister of Alethea Rucki, George Miller, Howard Miller and Robert Miller. Passed away on Monday, Feb. 16, 2004 in Lakewood, Ohio. No funeral services were held.
Cremation by Busch Crematory.
The Busch Family Funeral Chapel, 4334 Pearl Road, Cleveland, Ohio, served the family.

Peter Korthals
Peter H. Korthals, 57, of Delaware, Ohio, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2004 at Kobacker House President of Korthals Co., Inc. of Powell.
Survived are his wife, Marilyn; son, Dan, of Powell, his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Theodore Korthals, of Dublin.
Friends may call at the Schoedinger Worthington Cha- pel, 6699 N. High St. (1/2 mile south of I-270) Friday, 5 to 8 p.m.
At the request of the family there will be no funeral service.
Contributions may be made to Kobacker House, 3595 Olentangy River Rd., Columbus, OH 43214 in the memory of Peter H. Korthals.

Goldie Montgomery
Goldie V. Mountain Montgomery, 78, of Plantation, Florida, formerly of Bellaire, Ohio, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2004 in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. She was born April 13, 1925 in Chicago, Ill., a daughter of the late John and Antonia Vidas Shubat.
Goldie was a retired Clerk of the County Court, a member of St. John Catholic Church, Bellaire, and a member of the former Child Guidance Club.
In addition to her parents, Goldie was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Abbey" Mountain.
Surviving are three children: Rocky Mountain and his wife, Penny, of Plantation, Fla., Toni Juskey and her husband, Frank, of Orlando, Fla., Maureen Vekasy and her husband, Paul, of Pittsburgh, Pa., and four grandchildren: Michelle, Mat- thew, Elizabeth and Katie.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Bauknecht - Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 441-37th Street, Bellaire.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 a.m., at St. John Catholic Church, Bellaire, with Monsignor Gene Mullett as celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Bellaire.
A vigil service will be held on Friday at 6:30 p.m., in the funeral home.
Memorial contribtuions may be made to the Vitas Hospice Charitable Fund, 5420NW 33rd Ave., Suite 100, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309.

Olive E. Kirkpatrick
Olive Elizabeth Kirkpatrick, 90, of Moorefield died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004 in Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz.
She was born Jan. 17, 1914 in Dennison, Tuscarawas County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Lyle Mallernee and Ada Howell Mallernee.
Mrs. Kirkpatrick was a 1934 graduate of Freeport High School. She was a member of the former Moorefield United Methodist Church where she was treasurer from 1981 to 1996. She belonged to the United Methodist Women and was currently a member of the Piedmont United Methodist Church. She helped with the activities at the Moorefield Community Center and was part of the Noodle Club, which made and sold noodles to benefit the community center. She enjoyed planting a flower garden.
She is preceded in death by her husband Paul Bryan Kirkpatrick on May 23, 1996. They were married Sept. 5, 1935. She was also preceded in death by a son Floyd Kirkpatrick in 1976; sister Veda Marsh in 1994; a brother Charles Mallernee, and a granddaughter Cynthia Kirkpatrick.
Surviving are a son, Lyle Kirkpatrick of Cadiz and a daughter, Karen Becker of Akron; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held in the funeral home Saturday, Feb. 28, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004 in Koch Funeral Home, 216 S. High St., Freeport with Pastor Al Hoder officiating. Burial will follow in Moorefield Cemetery, Moorefield.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Piedmont United Methodist Church.

Charles 'Bill' Rinkes, Sr.
Charles William "Bill" Rinkes, Sr., 79, of Cadiz -Harrisville Road, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004 at his home.
He was born March, 4, 1924 in Harrisville.
Bill was a life-long resident and farmer of Harrison County. He retired from Consolidation Coal Company, Georgetown Mine, Local 7690 in 1981 after 40 years. He was a member and elder of the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Harrisville, and advisor of the "Stick with It 4-H Club" and active in the Polled Hereford Association. He loved square dancing and round dancing with his wife and also enjoyed restoring antique furniture.
He was preceded in death by his parents Chester and Elizabeth Yost Rinkes and a brother Don Rinkes.
Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who is survived by his wife of 59 years Martha (Dunlap) Rinkes; three sons, Charles William Rinkes, Jr. and his wife (Karen) of Harrisville, Bruce Dunlap Rinkes and his wife Lynn of Holton, Kansas, Ross Allen Rinkes and his wife Millie of Dechard, Tenn.; a daughter Martha Lou Packer and her husband Bill of Harrisville; a sister Ethel Cross and her husband Monte of Moorefield; a brother Dean and his wife Jean of Harrisville; 11 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; five step grandchildren.
Friends are welcome on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Borkoski Funeral Home, 555 E. Market St., Cadiz.
Friends will then be received at the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Harrisville on Monday, March 1, 2004 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. with Reverend Barry Hall officiating.
Burial in Olive Branch Cemetery, Harrisville.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Covenant Presbyterian Church, State Route 250, Harrisville, Ohio 43974.

Edna Oxley
Edna V. Oxley, 83, of Steubenville, formerly of Dillonvale, Ohio died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004 in Trinity Medical Center West.
She was born Feb. 24, 1921 in Bethesda, Ohio, a daughter of the late Delbert and Edna Travis Lucas. She was also preceded in death by her husband Noah J. Oxley, Sr., a daughter Eva Cassels; four brothers, John, Dallas, Dexter and Frank Lucas; two sisters, Regina Lucas and Vava Martin; stepson Eugene Oxley and great grandson Austin Butler.
Surviving are five daughters, Carol Freeman of Canton, Betty (Clyde) Cassels of Dillonvale, Karen (Richard) Butler of Rayland, Shirley Oxley of Mingo Junction, Sharon Evans; three sons, John Freeman and Tommy Freeman of Belmont, Edward Oxley of Tiltonsville; a step son Reverend Noah J. Oxley, Jr. of Lorain; step daughter Mary Ann Otto of Euclid; three sisters, Violet Perkins of Lima, Faye Kuthy of Bethesda, Genevieve Armstrong of Barnesville and three brothers, Joe Lucas of Barnesville, Darrell and Lawrence Lucas of Bethesda; 31 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
Friends may call Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home, Inc., 107 Hill St., Smithfield, where services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m., with her step son Reverend Noah J. Oxley, Jr. officiating and burial will follow in Northern Cemetery, Smithfield.
