BARNESVILLE — Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, Barnesville, for Madge M. White, 73, of Barnesville, who died Tuesday (Jan. 9, 2001) at Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cambridge.

The Rev. John Gibson will officiate. Burial will be in Crestview Cemetery, Barnesville.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She was born Sept. 30, 1927, in Barnesville, daughter of the late Lloyd and Dollie (Partlow) Starr.

Mrs. White retired from General Motors Corp. in Columbus. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Willis and John Starr.

She leaves two sisters, Rosalie Hinkle of Columbus, and Mrs. Donald (Donna) Ryan of Cambridge; several nieces and nephews.

Patty Sue Gray services

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Bundy-Law Funeral Home, Cambridge, for Patty Sue Gray, 59, of Cambridge, who died Tuesday (Jan. 9, 2001) at her home.

The Revs. Scott Low and Jimmy Gibson will officiate. Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Guernsey, P.O. Box 1165, 9711 East Pike, Cambridge, OH 43725.

Mildred Calendine services

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Miller-Huck Funeral Home, McConnelsville, for Mildred Nevada (Hayes) Calendine, 80, of Zanesville, who died Monday (Jan. 8, 2001) in Zanesville.

The Rev. Dr. Terry Litton will officiate. Burial will be in McConnelsville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Bundy-Law Funeral Home, Cambridge, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Miller-Huck Funeral Home, McConnelsville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Foundation of Zanesville or Scottish Rite Masons of Cambridge.

Annabelle Aikin services

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Bundy-Law Funeral Home, Cambridge, for Annabelle Aikin, 86, of Cambridge, most recently a resident of Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, who died Monday (Jan. 8, 2001) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center.

The Rev. Dr. Ronald Fleming and Dr. Quentin Knauer will officiate. Burial will be in North Salem Community Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She was born Sept. 24, 1914, in North Salem, daughter of the late Fred R. and Della J. (Jones) Mathews.

Mrs. Aikin had worked at RCA, where she served as a group leader. She also worked at Heller Brothers, Kinston Conley, NCR and the former Guernsey Memorial Hospital.

She was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church, The Mother Singers and Presbyterian Women at the Second Presbyterian Church, where she also served as a deacon.

She sang with The Land O Lakes Ladies Barber Shop singing group and sang tenor with a double quartet with the Barber Shop Harmony.

She was preceded in death by three brothers.

She leaves her husband of 61 years, George Kenneth Aikin of Cambridge. They were married Aug. 19, 1939, by the Rev. Olen Hall, a friend of her husband’s.

Also surviving is a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Rodney (Janet) Carabillo of Newington, Conn.; three grandchildren, Douglas Carabillo, Mrs. Christopher (Elizabeth) Wylie and Adrianne Carabillo.

Memorial contributions may be made to Unity Presbyterian Church, 130 N. Seventh St., Cambridge, OH 43725.

Joseph F. Ickes

CALDWELL — Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, for Joseph F. Ickes, 85, of Pleasant City, who died Tuesday (Jan. 30, 2001) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge.

Pastors Dan Hinkle and Jim Blanton will officiate. Burial will be in Halley’s Ridge Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

He was born April 2, 1915, in Mineral City, son of the late Edward and Margaret (Daniels) Ickes.
Mr. Ickes was a member of Local Union 95 Plumbers and Pipefitters in Cambridge. He was a U.S. Navy Sea Bee veteran and a member of Derwent Church of Christ in Christian Union in Derwent.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathlyn F. Ickes, who died April 5, 1988; a daughter, Connie Hill; and three brothers, Max, Jim and Mervin Ickes.

He leaves a son, Ted Ickes of Kimbolton; three daughters, Mrs. Walter (Rose Marie) Fish and Mrs. Garland (Kathy) Harper, both of Pleasant City, and Mrs. Bernard (Juanita Faye) Hill of Canton; a son-in-law, Willard Hill of Canton; two sisters, Sarah Bruce of Canton and Margie Morgareidge of Caldwell; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and close friends.

Dolores June Baker

MARIETTA — Dolores June Baker, 73, of Vincent, died Tuesday (Jan. 30, 2001) at Marietta Center.

She was born May 11, 1927, in Whipple, daughter of the late Clifford C. and Beulah Margaret (Smith) Goodwill.

Mrs. Baker was a 1944 graduate of Salem Liberty High School. After graduation she moved to Dayton, where she worked at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.

She was postmaster at Elba for several years. She and her husband made their living playing music for square dances and weddings. They were known as The Mid-Nite Ramblers.

They had moved to Florida, where she worked in the Palm Beach post office and later moved back to Washington County, where she worked at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital, then at Herbal Alternatives until the time of her illness.

She enjoyed quilting, genealogy and was an avid reader. She was a supporter of Waterford High School. She was active in the Washington County Republican Women’s Club and Stepping Stones of Ohio Valley College.

She was preceded in death by a son, Sean Anthony Baker, and his two children, Tabatha and Travis, who were killed in an automobile accident in 1982. Also deceased is a sister, Sharon Lea Goodwill Lewis.

She leaves her husband, Walter Amos Baker, whom she married Feb. 16, 1946; a son, Dr. David Walter (Peggy) Baker of Dothan, Ala.; three daughters, Mrs. Kevin (Linda Fivecoait) King of Lower Salem, Mrs. Bert (Ellen) Dix of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Tony (Sharon Anne) Baumgard of Vincent; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Jack (Ramona Goodwill) Schofield of Whipple; two brothers, Charles Cary (Mary) Goodwill of Las Vegas, Nev., and Vaughn Edward (Sharon) Goodwill of Portland, Ore.; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley and Peoples Funeral Home, and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lower Paw Paw Church of Christ, where services will be 11 a.m. Saturday with her son, Pastor David Baker, and Minister Steve Fuchs officiating. Calling hours will also be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, prior to services.

Burial will be in Salem Township Cemetery.
