She was born April 4, 1918, in Shawnee, daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Harris Arlington, and foster parents Ben and Laura Harris.

WARSAW, N.C. — Lt. Col. Ret. James W. “Jim” Barnhardt Jr., 59, of Warsaw, died Monday (July 22, 2002) at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, following a brief illness.
Visitation and services were at Community Funeral Home in Warsaw.
Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery on Aug. 7.
