CADIZ - Tillie Erdos, 83, of New Athens, died Tuesday (Jan. 6, 2004) at Wheeling (W.Va. ) Hospital. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Vigil services will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Catholic Church, Flushing, with Msgr. John Cymbor officiating. Burial will follow at Longview Cemetery, New Athens. Memorial contributions may be made to New Athens VFD, c/o John Kurucz, P.O. Box 65, New Athens, OH 43981. JOHN J. SARISKY

PARMA - John J. Sarisky, 84, died Tuesday (Jan. 6, 2004) at the VA Hospital in Cleveland. He was born in Caldwell, son of the late Michael and Susan Sarisky. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Hopko Funeral Home, Parma, where services will be 8:30 a.m. Saturday, and also at 9 a.m. at St. Columbkille Church. Burial will be at approximately 1 p.m. Saturday in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Caldwell.

GOLDA E. BLACK

1926-2004

MILFORD - Golda E. Black, 77, of Dunnellon, Fla., and Milford, died Sunday (Jan. 4, 2004) at the home of her daughter in Milford, following a two-year battle with cancer. She was born Jan. 24, 1926, in Oxford, W.Va. A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10 at Norwich Presbyterian Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati or the Norwich Presbyterian Church. Craver-Riggs Funeral Home and Crematory, Milford, is handling the arrangements.

Vella Belle Young Vaughn

1917-2004

NEW PHILADELPHIA - Vella Belle Young Vaughn, 86, of Byesville, died Thursday (Jan. 8, 2004) at Southeastern Med, Cambridge, following an eight-week illness. In keeping with Mrs. Vaughn’s request, there will be no calling hours and services will be private. Burial, alongside her husband, Courtney, will be in Evergreen Burial Park. Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home, New Philadelphia, is handling the arrangements. Memories and condolences may be shared by visiting the funeral home’s Web site, www.geibfuneral.com.

Beatrice Banks Conner

CADIZ - Beatrice Banks Conner, 55, formerly of Cadiz, died Monday (Jan. 5, 2004). Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 10, 2004) at St. James A.M.E. Church, Cadiz. Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, is handling arrangements.

Robert Perkins, 65, of Cambridge died Wednesday (Dec. 31, 2003) at the Red Carpet Health Care Center. There were no calling hours. Graveside services will be Monday (Jan. 12, 2004) at 2 p.m. at Center Cemetery. Arrangements handled by Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge.

Word has been received of the death of David Amos Stevens, 64, of Chula Vista, Calif., who died Thursday (Jan. 8, 2003) at his home. Mr. Stevens was the nephew of Robert W. Amos of Cambridge, whose family founded The Jeffersonian in 1824.
