Steve Beko
TUCSON, Ariz. — Steve Beko, 77 passed away June 5th, 2009 in Tucson, Arizona.

He is survived by wife of 55 years, Renee Beko; 5 children, 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

He was honored with a military burial.

Steven L. Tolliver
GREENWICH — Steven L. Tolliver, age 36, of Greenwich, died Sunday, June 14, 2009 at his home.

He was born May 23, 1973 in Oberlin, Ohio. Steve was a lifelong resident of rural Greenwich. He was a 1992 graduate of New London High School.

He worked at Oney's Milky Way Farm in Greenwich, Eureka Coach in Norwalk, Norwalk Steel and a metal fabricator for Norwalk Precast Mold. Steve was an avid four wheeler, motorcyclist and loved the outdoors.

He is survived by wife, Amber (Duffield) Tolliver, whom he married August 9, 1996; four children, Holley, Katey, Ashley and Steven John Tolliver; parents, Doug and Karen Tolliver of Greenwich, Ruth and Scott Anderson of Wellington; brother, Wayne Tolliver of Columbus; sister, Kimberleigh Anderson of Wellington; maternal grandmother, Betty Storrow of Wellington, maternal stepgrandmother, Barb Anderson of Wellington, mother and father-in-law, John and Tina Duffield of Greenwich; sister-in-law, Amanda Duffield of Greenwich; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shelby Leigh Tolliver, paternal grandmother, Aline Oney, maternal grandfather, Frank Storrow, and maternal step grandfather, Corwin Anderson.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Bethel Baptist Church, 575 US 250 N., Savannah, Ohio with Pastor John Bouquet officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery.

Memorials if desired may be given to the Steven Tolliver Benevolent Fund at any FirstMerit Bank branch.

Eileen Marie Glaser
DOYLESTOWN — Eileen Marie Glaser, age 34, died unexpectedly June 17, 2009.

She was born March 29, 1975 in Lorain to Mark and Patricia (Maher) Glaser. A resident of Doylestown and formerly of South Amherst, she was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and attended Ida Sue & Nick Amster Workshop.

She was preceded in death by brother, Patrick A. Glaser; grandparents, Charles and Mary Glaser and Harry and Cathryn Maher.

She is survived by parents, Mark and Patricia Glaser of Doylestown; brothers, Kenneth (Lisa) Glaser of Uniontown, Edward Glaser of Doylestown; sisters, Bridget (David) Barnes of Taylorsville, Kentucky, Jean (Kevin) Smith of Vermilion, Emily (Floyd) Leighliter of Wooster, Sarah Glaser and Steven Nelisse of the City of Green; and numerous nieces and nephews; her cat, Mel; and dog, Murphy.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 11 a.m., Fr. David McCarthy celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, 44230; Rosary Friday at 5 p.m.

Sherry Jean Shine
LORAIN — Sherry Jean Shine (nee Coleman), 68, of Lorain, died at her home unexpectedly on May 29, 2009 and went home to be with the Lord.

She was born October 28, 1940 in Lorain, Ohio to the late Raymond and Teresa Coleman. She was a graduate of Lorain High School Class 1958-B.

She worked at Smith and Gerhart, Head Start, Higbee's, Lorain National Bank, and Lorain Products. She also modeled in her early years.

Sherry leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory, two sons, Todd Coleman Sr. of Lorain and Scott Coleman of Avon; a daughter, Celeste Greenhill (Stephan) of Virginia; a sister, Janice Collins Chapman (Victor) of Lorain; a brother, Kevin Coleman of Elyria; a foster sister, Geraldine Rucker of Elyria; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by parents, Raymond Coleman and Teresa (nee Holiday) Coleman; and a brother, Bruce Coleman.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 11, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 12 noon at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1516 E. 30th St. in Lorain. Rev. Donald K. Young, pastor, officiating. Burial will be private.

Arrangements entrusted to Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 2652 Broadway Ave., Lorain, Ohio 44052.

Allan G. Septaric
LORAIN — Allan G. Septaric, age 73, of Lorain died Tuesday. Visitation Sunday 4 to 8 pm in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel.

Jean E. Stitak
Meals on Wheels Volunteer Age 83
Born: April 13, 1919
Died: June 3, 2002
JEAN E. STITAK (nee Knight), age 83, of Lorain died Monday June 3, 2002 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center West after a brief illness. She was born April 13, 1919 in Lorain, where she was a lifelong resident, and a 1937-B graduate of Lorain High School.

She was employed in the Blueprint Dept. at the former Thew Shovel in Lorain.

Since 1941 she has been a parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lorain. She was also a member of the St. Anne’s Lodge branch of the First Catholic Slovak Union. For 18 years she volunteered with the Meals on Wheels program at First Lutheran Church. She enjoyed visits to the Lorain Senior Center, making macramé chairs, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Thomas G. Stitak of Lorain; sons: Thomas Stitak Jr., Kevin Stitak, and Kurt Stitak, all of Lorain; daughter: Veletta Tusa of Greensboro, GA; 9 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandsons; brothers: Charles “Richard” Knight and Paul Knight, both of Lorain; and sister: Jacqueline Swable of Pompano Beach, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Veletta (nee Mead) Knight; brother: William Knight during World War II.

Clara T. Miller
Registered Nurse Age 92
Born: December 11, 1909
Died: June 7, 2002
Clara T. Miller (nee Marren), 92, of Lorain, died peacefully Friday June 7, 2002 at the Kingston of Vermilion.

She was born December 11, 1909 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

She was a graduate of St. Mary High School in Lorain and the St. Joseph School of Nursing in Lorain.

Mrs. Miller worked as a registered nurse and night supervisor at St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain for 25 years retiring in 1975.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Vermilion and the Salvation Army Keenagers where she played piano during the Keenagers performances.

Mrs. Miller enjoyed playing cards, bingo and reading

She is survived by her son James (Judy) Miller of Amherst, daughters: Susan Darby of Stow and Judy Stanfield of Vermilion; stepson Gene (Ann) Miller of Vermilion and stepdaughter Donna Cline of California; 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; her special nephew T (Mary Jo)Miller of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Burton Miller in 1989, brothers Thomas Marren and John Marren and sisters Mary Clark, Winifred Miller and Anna Haas.

Evelyn R. Peters
Eastern Star Member Age 88
Born: September 7, 1913
Died: June 8, 2002
Evelyn R. Peters (nee Renninger), 88, of Avon Lake, died suddenly Saturday June 8, 2002 at her home.

She was born September 7, 1913 in Delaware, Ohio and had resided in Avon Lake since 1993. She had lived in Tavares, Florida from 1966 to 1993 and Fairview Park prior to that.

Mrs. Peters was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Avon Lake and the Fairview Park Chapter of the Order of the Easter Star #528 in which she was a 50-year member.

She is survived by her sons: Jack R. Fair of Lorain and Ronald Fair of Cincinnati; daughter Barbara Jackson of North Ridgeville; stepdaughter Jeannine Rowe of Carlsbad, California; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Philip Peters in 1982, parents J.W. and Edith (nee Blodgett) Renninger and sister Helen Takacs.

Susan Katonak
Charter Member of Christ Lutheran Church Age 101
Born: January 11, 1901
Died: June 29, 2002
Susan Katonak, (nee Kolesar), age 101, of Lorain, died Saturday June 29, 2002 at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph following a brief illness. She was born January 11, 1901 in Mala Poloma, Czechoslovakia and had been a resident of Lorain since 1924. She was a charter member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church and served as past treasurer of the church board. She was also a member of the Circle One group of the church. She was an accomplished rose gardener and was proud to care for a variety of viable rose bushes in excess of 50 years old. Additional interests included cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, knitting, and embroidery.

She is survived by her daughter: Mary Homenik of Avon, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and one great, great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband: George Katonak in 1970, by her daughter: Suzanne Berens in 1999, by her parents: George and Mary (nee Szarnak) Kolesar, along with 8 brothers and sisters.

Mary Lou Zudell
Zion Lutheran Church Member Age 76
Born: March 23, 1926
Died: June 30, 2002
Mary Lou Zudell (nee Cooper), 76, of Wakeman, died Sunday June 30, 2002 at the Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness.

She was born March 23, 1926 in Parkersburg, West Virginia and had resided in Wakeman since 1971 moving from Lorain.

Mrs. Zudell was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lorain and the Altar Guild and Mother’s Club of the church. She enjoyed crocheting and crafts.

She is survived by her daughters: Myra Barrett of Akron, Kathryn Zudell of Elyria and Ruth Ann Bowman of Seaside, California; sons: J. Keith Zudell of Gallup, New Mexico and Dale E. Zudell of Wakeman; 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and sister Charlyn Savastuk of Sandusky. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph B. Zudell in 1994 and parents Carl and Garnet (nee Hamilton) Cooper.
