Mildred Sebo
After a courageous battle with cancer, Mildred Sebo passed away at her home on July 8, 2009, surrounded by her family.
Moving to Ohio from her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma, she met and married Milan Sebo.
Mildred, affectionately known as "Millie", served the Ohio Federation of Women's Clubs as Key Note Speaker, State Chairman of Public Affairs Department, General Arrangements Chairman, District Planning Chairman, and District Legislation Chairman.
Mildred was also past president of Sheffield Lake Women's Club, popular installing officer of many surrounding area Women's Clubs, Sheffield Lake's Outstanding Woman of the Year, Worthy Matron - Day Chapter, Mother Advisor for the Assembly of Rainbow Girls, Fourth District President of Women's Clubs, President of Sheffield Lake- Erie District Women's Club, and President of Lorain Women's Club Incorporated. She also served as Brookside High School Parent-Teachers Forum President.
Mildred is survived by by her beloved husband Milan Sebo, .her daughters, Melody Sebo of Lorain, and Linda Sue Glancy of Atlanta, GA; sister-in-law, Wilma Ames, Vermilion, sisters, Sondra Walker, Westlake, Lorraine Panzau, Centralia, IL, Virginia Regaldo, Corpus Christi, TX, and brother Oda Walker, Jr., Vermilion, six grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Mildred was preceded in death by her her son, Gregory M. Sebo (April 2008), parents, Oda and Florence Walker and a brother, Bobby Jack Walker.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 12, 2009 at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 5th St., Lorain, Ohio, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 13, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home led by Reverend James E. Smucker, pastor of the Heritage Presbyterian Church.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Heritage Presbyterian Church, PO Box 834, Amherst, Ohio 44001 or the Salvation Army, 2501 Broadway Ave., Lorain, Ohio 44052.

Anna Dombrowski
Anna (nee Ferencz) Dombrowski, 85 of Sheffield Township passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Denise's Adult Care in Lorain following a long illness.
Mrs. Dombrowski was born in Sheffield Township, OH on June 21, 1922 and was a lifetime resident of the Sheffield Township area.
She was a graduate of Clearview High School in 1939, Lorain Business College, and then attended classes at both Lorain County Community College and Kent State University
She was a lifetime member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church Lorain, Ohio.
Mrs. Dombrowski worked for 9 years as executive secretary for the superintendent of Clearview Board of Education and retired as clerk-treasurer at Clearview Board of Education after 15 years of service.
She was an avid reader of all genres, enjoyed gardening, music, baking and cooking. She was a caregiver for her mother and grandchildren.
Mrs. Dombrowski is survived by a daughter Maria E ( Lawrence) Burgett of Lorain, two granddaughters Amanda C. Burgett of Fairview Park and Anne M. (Paul) Schwartz of Mentor-on-the-Lake, sisters Irene Kacsandi of Sheffield Village, and Ethel Bozik of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her husband Michael J. Dombrowski in 2003, son Michael J Dombrowski Jr. in 1959, her parents John and Anna (nee Holinda) Ferencz, a sister Margaret Schremp, and a brother Robert Ferencz.
Friends may call on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain. Parastas will be at 7:00 PM.
Panachida will be on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at 9:30 AM in the funeral home followed by the Divine Liturgy at 10:00 AM in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 2711 W. 40th Street, Lorain with Father Nicholas Rachford, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
Family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 2711 W. 40th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44053 or donor's choice.

Hazel (Jean) Arlow
Hazel (Jean) Arlow, 77 of Lorain passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2005 at the Gaymont Nursing Center in Norwalk following a long illness.
Mrs. Arlow was born on June 19, 1927 in Pittsburgh, PA and has lived in Lorain since 1950. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Heritage Presbyterian Church and the Hobby Shop Ladies Group at the church. She was also a volunteer at Lorain Community Hospital.
Mrs. Arlow is survived by three sons, David of Bay Village, Jack of Springdale, ARK, and William of Chaffee, NY and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband William J. Arlow on March 4, 1977.
Friends may call at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain on Sunday, April 24, 2005 from 1-3 pm and 6-8 pm.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 26, 2005 at 9:00 am in the funeral home with Rev. James E. Smucker, officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Amherst Township.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Presbyterian Church, 515 N. Leavitt Road, Amherst, Ohio 44001.

Nancy J. Hilton
Nancy J (nee Schmidt) Hilton, 43 of Medina formerly of Lorain died on Saturday, May 28, 2005, unexpectedly.
Ms. Hilton was born on November 11, 1961, in Lorain, OH and had lived in Lorain until 2 1/2 years ago when she moved to Medina. She was a graduate of Lorain Admiral King High School and had completed two years of study at Lorain County Community College.
She was an administrative secretary for 14 years at Lorain Correctional Institute. She enjoyed roller skating and the out-of-doors.
Ms. Hilton is survived by her son, Nathan D. Hilton at home, daughter, Misty A. Rollins of Shakopee, MN, mother Josephine M (nee Depaola) Schmidt of Lorain, brothers John J. Schmidt of Oberlin, Russell A. Schmidt of Cartersville, GA and Robert R. Schmidt.
She was preceded in death by her father Russell R. Schmidt in 1976.
Friends may call at Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, OH, on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 from 10:00 am until funeral time at 11:00 am.
Nancy J. Hilton will be buried at Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain, OH.

Beth K. Stocker, 97

Beth Kilpatrick Stocker, died August 23, 2005 at her home, Kendal at Oberlin, Ohio.
She was born March 15, 1908 in Faribault, Minnesota.
She graduated at age 20 from Ohio University with a BS in Biology. From 1928-1935, she was employed as a research bacteriologist by the New York City Board of Health Research Laboratories, working on the development of vaccines. She married C. Paul Stocker in 1930 and moved to Lorain, Ohio in 1935. She remained there until 1993 when she moved to Kendal at Oberlin retirement community.
In 1979 she established The Stocker Foundation and served as president of the board until 2003. Beth’s personal philanthropy was quiet but significant and reflected strong personal and family values. Stocker was a long-time community leader and volunteer. She was a 70 year member of First Congregational Church UCC of Lorain and of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). Among her many civic involvements over the years, she had a leadership role in Girl Scouts of Erie Shores, Lorain YWCA, Lorain Palace Civic Center, LCCC Foundation, Round Table, Wimodaughsis, Alpha Pi Sigma, Sorosis and Eastside Literary Club. She was also an active volunteer at Kendal.
Over the years she was recognized for her volunteerism and leadership, including Woman of the Year (Quota Club 1968); Women of Achievement (YMCA 1998); and the Eric C. Nord Leadership Award (Leadership Lorain County 1999). IN 2003, Ohio University presented her with an honorary doctorate of humane letters degree. In 2005, LCCC honored Stocker by naming their art gallery, The Beth K. Stocker Art Gallery and she was also honored by Camp Timberlane Girls Scouts of Erie Shores. Ohio University also awarded her with a Founders Citation for her exemplary service to O.U.
Beth especially enjoyed time with her families and friends, reading, world travel and gardening.
Beth was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, C. Paul Stocker, her parents Walter M. and Nancy Elizabeth (Smith) Kilpatrick, brother Walter S. Kilpatrick (Pat) and great-grandson Samuel Stocker Norton. Beth is survived by her daughters Nancy Woodling (Reese), of Tucson, AZ; Jane Norton (Ben G.), of Lorain, Ohio and Mary Ann Dobras (Darryl), of Tucson, AZ; eight grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; a nephew, and two nieces.
Friends may call Friday 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain. A memorial service will be held at Kendal at Oberlin Saturday August 27th at 2:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to First Congregational Church UCC of Lorain Endowment Fund, Residents Assistance Fund (RAF) at Kendal, or a charity of your choice.

Benjamin F. Bellisario III
Benjamin F. Bellisario III, 53, of Lorain died early Tuesday morning, December 27, 2005 in the home of his mother following a one year illness.
Mr. Bellisario was born in Lorain, OH on March 11, 1952. He was a 1970 graduate of Avon Lake High School. He had been employed by the Spitzer Hotel as an executive chef. He enjoyed gardening and watching football. He was a avid supporter of the Cleveland Browns.
He is survived by a daughter: Valerie M. Bellisario of Lorain, son: Benjamin F. Bellisario, IV of Lorain, 6 grandchildren, his mother Donna J. (nee Clark) Bellisario of Avon Lake, sisters Christine M. Boyd, Gina L. Bellisario both of Avon Lake, Debbie A. Sivert of Sheffield Lake, brothers Ken Bellisario of Ontario, CA, Ron Bellisario of Lorain, Don Bellisario of SanDiego, CA, Mike Bellisario of Sheffield Lake and Bob Bellisario of Lakewood, OH, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn A. (nee Shullick) Bellisario in 2002, his father Benjamin F. Bellisario, Jr, in 1994 and a grandson Benjamin F. Bellisario V in 2002.
Friends may call Thursday, December 29, 2005 at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052 from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 30, 2005 at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Rev. Daniel O. Divis, pastor of St. Mary Church in Lorain, officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemtery Lorain.

Robert M. Hilton
Robert M. Hilton, Jr, 24 of Lorain passed away on Friday, September 23, 2005, at his father's home following a lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis.
Mr. Hilton was born on October 5, 1980, in Lorain and was a lifelong resident. He attended the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Lorain.
He was a NASCAR enthusiast, a big fan of the late Dale Ernhardt, enjoyed working on cars, skating and rollerblading.
He is survived by his wife, Holly A. (nee Coutch) Hilton, father Robert M. Hilton, Sr of Lorain, mother Victoria Salva of Lorain, brothers, Jason and Nathan Hilton both of Lorain, sister Tracy Norton of Lorain, maternal grandmother Rev. Virginia Salva of Lorain, paternal grandfather Danny Lake of Shaker Heights, OH and several aunts and uncles.
Mr. Hilton was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Jackie Lake in 1999 and a maternal grandfather John Salva in 2005.
Friends may call at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
Funeral services will be on Monday, September 26, 2005, at 11:00 am in the funeral home with his grandmother Rev. Virginia Salva and Rev. Howard Carroll, pastor of Mt. Olive Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will be on Tuesday, September 27, 2005, at 11:00 AM in the Berlin Cemetery in Berlin, Ohio.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron, 1 Perkins Square, Akron, OH 44308.

Carrie Louise (nee Brainerd) Stone
Carrie Louise (nee Brainerd) Stone, 87 of Vermilion died on Friday, April 8, 2005, at New Life Hospice Center at St. Joseph in Lorain, OH following a long illness. Mrs. Stone was born on September 15, 1917, in Lorain, OH. She lived in California the majority of her life and moved back to this area in 2001. She was a graduate of Lorain
High School and the Oberlin Business College. She was a financial officer for the military serving at the Presidio and Fort Baker in California retiring in the mid 1980's.
She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Wave Crest Collectors Club and International Cambridge Carnival Glass Association. She was an avid roller skating enthusiast and won numerous awards.
Mrs. Stone enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers and Carnival Glass. She and her late husband traveled across the country to various auctions and flea markets searching for additions to her collections.
She is survived by a niece and caregiver Dawn Sutfin of Elyria, 3 other nieces and 2 nephews and many great nieces and nephews.Mrs. Stone is preceded in death by her husband G. Wesley Stone in 1990, her parents Fleming B and Carrie Louise (nee Hayes) Brainerd SR, and twin brothers Fleming B Brainerd, Jr. and Edward H Brainerd. He was also preceded in death by a nephew, Capt. Fleming B. Brainerd III, who was killed in action in Vietnam in 1965.
A memorial service will be held on April 21, 2005, at 4:00 PM at First Congregational Church, 423 Washington Ave., Lorain, OH, with Rev. Carl Richter, pastor, officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
