Edward J. Brady
Edward J. Brady, 83 of Lorain died late Sunday afternoon, October 2, 2005, at the New Life Hospice Center at St. Joseph following a brief illness.
Mr. Brady was born on November 16, 1921, in Lorain and was a lifelong resident. He attended Bowling Green University.
He was a veteran of the US Army serving during WW II. He was a sergeant assigned to the 443rd military Police Prisoner of War Processing Company. He was involved in the battles at Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes and the Rhineland. He earned the EAME Campaign Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, the Good Conduct medal with 3 overseas Service Bars.
Mr. Brady retired in 1984 as a machinist from B.F. Goodrich after 20 years of service. He enjoyed fishing. He maintained a Backyard Wild Bird Habitat and enjoyed all the wild birds that lived there.
He is survived by his wife Betty Jane (nee Bumke) Brady, to whom he was married on April 29, 1950. He is also survived by a daughter Susan Haas of Louisville, KY, sons Kenneth Brady of Houston, TX, Daniel Brady of Sheffield Lake, Edward Brady of Milford, OH and 5 grandchildren.
Mr. Brady was preceded in death by his parents Edward James and Freda Marie (nee Esterle) Brady and a sister June Fisher.
Funeral services and burial was private.
The family suggest that memorial contributions be made to New Life Hospice, c/o Community Health Partners Foundation, 3700 Kolbe Road, Lorain, Ohio 44052.
Arrangements was handled by the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052.

Kathleen N. Jackson
Kathleen M. Jackson, 44 (nee Whitaker) of Lorain passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2005 at Elyria Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Mrs. Jackson was born on March 28, 1961 in Lorain and lived most of her life in Lorain. She was a graduate of Lorain High School Class of 1979. She was employed as a mold operator at Elyria Plastics.
She is survived by two sons; James Whitaker of Lorain and Terry L. Jackson of Avon, her mother Wanda D. (nee McCormack) of Lorain, brothers; Keith Whitaker and Larry McCoy both of Lorain and sister Tracy Hubbard of Lorain.
She is preceded in death by her father Henry Whitaker and a sister Debra Nelson.
Friends may call at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain on Monday, August 29, 2005 from 11:00 AM until funeral time at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at a later date.

Judith L. Walbom
Judith L. (nee Erdy) Walbom, 67 of Vermilion died on Friday, June 10, 2005, at Community Health Partners Hospital & Surgical Center in Lorain, OH unexpectedly.
Mrs. Walbom was born on January 30, 1938, in Lorain, OH and has lived the last 30 years in Vermilion. She was a graduate of Lorain High School. She was employed by Wells Fargo in Sandusky and formerly had worked at Key Bank in Vermilion.
She attended The Chapel in Sandusky. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading and her grandchildren.
Mrs. Walbom is survived by her husband of 46 years William D. Walbom of Vermilion, daughters Laurel Purtell of Reynoldsburg, OH, Christine Smith of Upper Arlington, sons, Brad Walbom of Avon Lake, Darrin Walbom of Plain City, William Walbom, JR. of Vermilion, 12 grandchildren, brother Lance Erdy of Lorain and sister Lauren Roth of Sauk City, WI.
She is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Ella (nee Horvath) Erdy.
Friends may call at Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, OH, on Tuesday, June 14, 2005, from 3:00 to 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at 11:00 am at The Chapel, 4444 Galloway Road, Sandusky, OH, with Rev. Reg Gentery, pastor officiating.
Mrs. Walbom will be buried in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Amherst Township, OH.

Blanche E. Brass
Blanche E. (nee Breeden) Brass, 82, of Lorain died on Monday, April 18, 2005 at New Life Hospice Center at St. Joseph in Lorain, OH following a long illness.
Mrs. Brass was born on August 26, 1922 in Pittsburgh, PA. She moved here as a small child and lived in Lorain most of her life.
She was a charter member of the former Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lorain and a former Worthy Matron of Eastern Star-Day Chapter.
Mrs. Brass had worked at the Lorain Public Library, prior to her marriage and had been a secretary at Lorain Products.
She enjoyed fishing and camping, her family and wintering in Florida for 20 years.
Mrs. Brass is survived by her daughter, Joy Kingsley of Lorain, son, John Brass of Leesburg, FL, 4 grandsons, and 3 great-grandsons.
She is preceded in death by her husband John J. Brass in 2003, her parents Raymond and Mabel E. (nee Adams) Breeden, brothers, Kenneth Breeden and Joseph Downie and a sister Pearl Morgan
Friends may call at the Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, OH, on Friday, April 22, 2005 from 4:00 until memorial service time at 7:00 pm. The Rev. Philip Kunz, interim pastor at the St. John's United Church of Christ will officiate.
Burial will be in Brownhelm Cemetery, Brownhelm Township at a later date.
The Family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Back To The Wild-Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center, P.O. Box 423, 4504 Bardshar Road, Castalia, OH 44824.

Stanley C. "Bud" Johnson
Stanley C. "Bud" Johnson, 66 of Lorain died early Sunday morning, November 13, 2005, at Community Health Partners and Surgical Center in Lorain following a long illness.
Mr. Johnson was born in Lorain, OH on April 16, 1939. He was a lifelong resident of Lorain. He was a graduate of Lorain High School and a US Air Force veteran. He was a member of the St. John United Church of Christ in Lorain.
He worked as a machinist at American Crucible retiring in 2002 after 38 years of service. He was an avid Ohio State University fan, enjoyed all Cleveland area sports teams and liked to hunt and fish.
Mr. Johnson is survived by daughters: Pamela Jenkins of Savannah, GA, sons: Richard Johnson of Amherst, OH and Michael D. Johnson of New Port Ritchey, FL, step daughter: Deborah Standen of Lorain, 5 grandchildren, sisters: Katherine Plumb of Lorain and Marlene Koethe of Columbus, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Dorothy (nee Ehrlich) Johnson.

Funeral service at St. John United Church of Christ, 715 Reid Ave., Lorain, OH, at 10:30 AM on Friday, November 18, 2005, with Rev. Philip Kunz, pastor officiating.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery Lorain, OH.

Ruth C. Walters
Ruth C. Walters, 96 (nee Rice) died on Thursday, September 15, 2005 at Kingston of Vermilion in Vermilion, OH following a long illness.
Mrs. Walters was born on September 19, 1908 in Lorain, OH and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a graduate of Lorain High School Class of 1926B. She was a member of the Christian Temple-Disciples of Christ Church. She was active in the Christian Women's Fellowship and had been a former organist at the church.
She enjoyed her winter home in the Florida Keys, reading and working crossword puzzles.
Mrs. Walters is survived by her three daughters, Susan Cardonick of Citrus Springs FL, Faith Laidlaw of Sheffield Village, Luellyn Roberts of Amherst, sons, Richard Walters of Valley City, OH, Thomas Walters of Amherst, Jeffrey Walters of San Rafael, CA, 19 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 32 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Llewellyn T. (Lefty) Walters in 1991, her Parents Floyd and Faith (nee Kehren) Rice and sister Cleo Fredebaugh.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2005 at 11:00 am in the Christian Temple-Disciples of Christ Church, 940 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052 with Rev. Bradley J. Donahue, pastor, officiating.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Temple-Disciples of Christ Church, 940 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052.

Wanda R. Brown
Wanda R. (nee Engle) Brown, 54 of Lorain died early Friday, October 28, 2005 at New Life Hospice Center at St. Joseph in Lorain.
Mrs. Brown was born on November 4, 1950 in Harlan, KY but lived most of her life in Lorain. She was a graduate of Admiral King High School. She had worked as a cashier at both Walmart and Revco Drug Store.
Most recently she was a homemaker.
She enjoyed camping and taking the grandchildren to the State Fair.
Mrs. Brown is survived by three sons: Gary W. Brown, Richard A. Brown, Gerald A. Brown, Jr. all of Lorain, 5 grandchildren, mother Verda M. (Nee Simpson) Engle of Lorain, 4 stepchildren, and 12 step grandchildren, brothers Jesse W. Engle of Nebraska, William M. Engle of Lorain, Rodger K. Engle of Amherst, James H. Engle of Indianapolis, David of Sheffield Lake, sisters Phyllis Henderson of Amherst, Donna Jones of Elyria and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald A. Brown, Sr. on July 16, 2004 and her father Jesse Engle.
Friends may call on Monday, October 31, 2005 from 7-9 pm at Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, November 1,,2005 at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Pastor Michael D. LeBuhn pastor of the Church Of God, Sheffield, officiating. Burial will be in the Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township, Ohio.

Charles R. Knight
Charles R "Dick" Knight 83, of Lorain died on Wednesday, August 3, 2005, at Mill Manor Nursing Home in Vermilion, OH following a brief illness.
Mr. Knight was born on February 20, 1922, in Lorain, OH living here all of his life. He graduated in the class of 1940A from Lorain High School.
He entered into the Army on October 1942. He served with the 974th Engineer Maintenance Company, receiving the Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with 4 Bronze Stars.
Mr. Knight worked as a mechanic with SBS Transportation until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the VFW Post # 1079 in Elyria. He enjoyed woodworking and crossword puzzles.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Angela J (nee DeMarco) Knight, his three daughters, Patricia Ann Hennes of Akron, OH, Grace Marie Knight of Lorain, OH, and Barbara Jo Sanborn of Lorain, OH, his four sons, Charles Arthur Knight of Erie, PA, Michael Anthony Knight of Olmsted Falls, OH, Richard Anthony Knight of Dallas, TX, and William Paul Knight of Lorain, OH, 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren
Mr. Knight is preceded in death by a granddaughter Leslie Knight, parents Charles W. and Veletta (nee Meade) Knight, brothers Paul Knight and William Knight, and sisters Jean Stitak and Jacqueline Swable.
Visitation is Friday, August 5, 2005, from 4-8 P.M. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 West 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2005, 9:00 am in the funeral home followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in St. Mary Church, corner of 8th Street and Reid Avenue, Lorain, OH with Reverend Daniel O. Divis, pastor officiating.
Charles R. Knight will be buried at Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Amherst Twp., OH with full military honors provided jointly by American Legion Post # 30 and VFW Post 451.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to New Life Hospice, c/o Community Health Partner's Foundation, 3700 Kolbe Road, Lorain, Ohio 44052.
