ARNOLD Gene C. Arnold, age 76, of Columbus, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2002. He was a WW II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. Gene was preceded in death by his parents Harley and Maybelle Arnold and his wife in 1999 Donna Arnold. He is survived by his sons, Terry (Molly) Arnold of West Chester, OH, Chris (Lin) Arnold of Plain City, Philip Arnold of London, OH; brothers, Richard A. (June) Arnold of Delaware, OH and Irvin (Joann) Arnold of Gahanna; grandchildren, Tricia (Brian) Kellenbarger, Tim Arnold, Amber Arnold, Mitchell Arnold, Carrie Troesch and April (Jon) McMillan; and great-grandchildren, Isaac and Gabe McMillan. BEAVERS Doris Jean Beavers, 66, of Grove City, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2002 at her home after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born icon May 8, 1936 in Columbus, the daughter of the late Ova and Anna Hayes. She attended the Grove City Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed her puppies Buddy and Mikey. However, her greatest love of all was being continuously dedicated to her family. Doris is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 35 years, Larry; sons, Chuck Gaver and Scott Beavers; step-son, Charlie (Marci) Beavers; step-daughters, Cindy (Bob) Geyer and Chris Beavers; 10 grandchildren; brother, Marvin (Mary) Hayes; sister, Ruby (Pearl) Hix; mother-in-law, Lorene Beavers; many nieces and nephews and countless special friends that were consistent with their support. Doris is preceded in death by her parents, son Gary Gaver and brothers Don, Bob and Danny Hayes. CAMPBELL Our dearest and loving mother, Elizabeth C. Campbell, died Wednesday, October 30, 2002 in Columbus. Born February 26, 1920, near Celina to the late Elizabeth Speiler and Edward H. Pulskamp. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband Roy J. Campbell, who died in 1978. She is survived by her children, E. Ann (Bruce) Hall of Germantown, Md., Claudia M. (Richard) Barrett of Galena, Oh., Paula J. Campbell of Locust Valley, N.Y., Brad A. (Debbie) Campbell of West Jefferson, Oh. and Mary K. (James) Kirk of Delaware, Oh.; grandchildren, Kerry, Karna, Kelly, Rick, Roy, Rob, Derek, Benjamin and Amber; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Jarett, Olivia and Anthony. A world champion typist in 1939, Elizabeth's speed was 210 words per minute on her manuel Underwood typewriter. A former CCD teacher, she was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Peace Church. DUNAWAY Connie D. Dunaway, affectionately called "Connie Mom" by her family and friends, 92, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2002 at Morning View Care Center. She was a member of the First Church of God, Anderson, Ind. Connie enjoyed working with crafts especially making quilts and stools, where she continues making them in heaven. She is preceded in death by husband Rev. H. Clay Dunaway, sisters Frances Adkins and Clara Barnes. Survived by son, William E. (Jean) Dunaway; daughter, Dona Byrd; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren. EKWALL David B. Ekwall, age 40, of Columbus, Thursday, October 24, 2002 at home. ELDER Lowell L. Elder, age 76, of Upper Arlington and Naples, Fla., died unexpectedly Wednesday, October 30, 2002. He was born icon in Mark Center, Oh. on February 8, 1926 the son of Levon and Gladys (Worthington) Elder. Served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II in the China/Burma Theater (CBT), then earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the OSU College of Engineering in 1949. He worked for Columbia Gas System Services Corp. in the Research and Engineering Department for 38 years, retiring in 1987. He developed and chaired the First National Codes and Standards for High Pressure Piping, was a member of the National Board of Directors of Mechanical Engineers and was elected a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Lowell received many technical and national work-related awards. A volunteer at Riverside Methodist Hospital, he was also a member of Sherwood Lodge #620 F&AM, the Scottish Rite, and Shrine. Lowell enjoyed fine European sports cars – especially BMWs. He was a longtime member of the Sports Car Club of America and recently received a prestigious national award of appreciation. He also liked walks in Lane Road Park and along the beach in Naples, jazz, ice cream, popsicles, and reading stacks of magazines and sharing minute details of articles. Lowell will also be remembered for his sense of humor and love of the Buckeyes. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by wife, Margy Ann Elder. Survived by wife, Gussie Dye-Elder; daughters, Debbie (Abner) Bagenstose of Dublin, OH and Nancy (Donald) Trepashko of Glenview, IL; step-son, Doug (Becky) Gerrard of Cincinnati, OH; and grandchildren, Scott (Cheryl) Bagenstose and Mike (Rachel) Bagenstose, both of Cincinnati, OH, Nancy (Greg) Kidder of Arlington, VA, Ella and Billy Trepashko of Glenview, IL, and Chris Gerrard of Cincinnati, OH. The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. Sunday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road. FRIZZELL Ralph Berkley Frizzell, age 67, of Wellston, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2002, at his residence. He was born icon in Columbus, Oh. on January 12, 1935, son of the late Clark and Mary Mounts Frizzell. Mr. Frizzell was a former Supervisor and cabinet maker at Allied Sink Top in Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Jacquelynn Knapp Frizzell; sons, Randall Frizzell and Jeffrey Davis, both of Columbus; daughter, Peggy Stephens of Columbus; sisters, Mildred Armstrong and Phyllis Rosecrans, both of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandchildren, Kristine Rundall of Daytona Beach, Fla., Cynthia Mills of Canal Winchester and Joseph Berkley Davis of Columbus; as well as 3 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Rebecca Frizzell. At the request of Mr. Frizzell, his body was donated to the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
