GRIFFITH Atlas Griffith, age 86, of Columbus, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2002 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years Robert, daughters Louise Wilson and Debbie Hedger, 3 grandchildren and parents Charles and Ida (Buchanan) Webb. Survived by sons, Clarence Griffith of Ga., Dan (Kim) Griffith of Reynoldsburg and Dennis Griffith of Oh. Memorial service Thursday 8 p.m. at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 3047 E. HADDEN Jeremiah Garvin Hadden, also known as "Hydraulic", "Foots", "Keyman" and in later years as "PaPa", at the age of 86, was called home to Glory, May 4, 2002 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Preceded in death by his mother Sarah Scott, sisters Ellen Miller, Sarah Sanders and grandson Wayne Hadden. He was born in Marietta, S.C. and was educated in the Columbus Public School System. Retired from Columbus Coated Fabrics/Borden Chemical after 30-plus years of service. He was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon and as President of the Usher's Ministry. He was a member of the I.C.U.A.; served as President of the School of Ushering. His hobby was listening to his Police Scanner and he was a member of the "White Castle Club". He leaves to mourn his legacy, his faithful devoted and loving daughter, Rhoda J. Hadden; son, Donald Hadden; brother, Hezekiah Hadden; sisters, Ammer (Tommy) James, Carlene (Frank) Allen, Alta Scott; loving granddaughter, Rhonda Hadden; loving great-granddaughter, Tina (Russell) Turner; great-great-grandsons, Russell Anthony Turner II and James Everett Turner; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, The McKee Family, many, many friends and his Church family. Robertson Sr., brothers Roger Robertson and James P. Robertson Jr. Survived by daughter, Donna (Tom) Gimlich of Bucyrus, Oh.; sons, Donald E. HUBER William A. Huber, age 79, of Columbus, formerly of Worthington, died at home on Sunday, May 5, 2002. Retired after 40 years as Vice President of Columbus Forge and Iron Co., past president of the National Association of Purchasing Management of Columbus, graduate of Worthington High School in 1941, member of New England Lodge #4 F&AM, Scottish Rite, Aladdin Temple Shrine, Secretary of the Shrine Band, Secretary of the Aladdin Car Club, Court #8 Royal Order of Jesters, past president of the Columbus Downtown Lions Club, a Melvin Jones Fellow, of the Lions Club International Foundation, former member of the Columbus Maennerchor and Lederhossen Five, former member of York Country Club and a member of the Hole in One Club. Preceded in death by sister Jane Ann Youngquist. Survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty E. Snyder Huber; daughter, Nancy (David G. Foust) Papineau; sons, John L. (Kim) Huber and William R. HUNT Leafy A. Hunt, 85, Overland Park, Kan., formerly of Columbus, passed away Monday, April 29, 2002, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2002 at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 515 High Street,Worthington, Oh. Burial will be at Glen Rest Memorial Estate, Reynoldsburg. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Friday, May 10 at the funeral home. Mrs. Hunt was born April 13, 1917 in Hamden, Oh., the daughter of Chauncey and Minnie Gibson. She was married to John W. Hunt for 62 years. She spent all her married life in Columbus. She was employed at Tom Johnson's Seafood Restaurant for many years and retired from the Kroger Company. She was preceded in death by her husband John, son John R., parents and brothers Merrell Gibson, Beryl Gibson, Donald Gibson and sister Louise Mather. Mrs. Hunt is survived by her daughter, Ruth Schwenk, Overland Park, KS; daughter-in-law, Orlanda Hunt, Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Michael and Jeanne Schwenk, Salt Lake City, UT, Michele and Michael Morrissey, Dallas, TX, Sgt. Richard Schwenk, US Army, Kosovo, Randall and Vicki Hunt and Terri Leonard of Columbus, OH, Gary and Diane Hunt, Daniel and Julie Hunt of Roswell,GA, Jeanne Smith, Jason Boles, and Jay Jay Boles, Columbus, OH; sisters, Eula Hunt, Port Charlotte, FL, Fern Mather, Freda Phillips, and Ada Snider, Columbus, OH; brothers, Robert Gibson, Columbus, OH and C. Earl Gibson of FL; 15 great-grandchildren and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces, friends and her beloved pet companions, Bogie, Shira, Morgan and Casey. Mrs. Hunt loved her flowers and the warmth they brought to those around her. She always went out of her way to make people feel welcome and comfortable. She was a gracious and giving person who will be sadly missed by her family and friends privileged to know her.

KIDWELL Opal K. Kidwell, 92, born September 18, 1909 in Prospect, Oh., passed away May 5, 2002 at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mt. Vernon, Oh. She retired from Kroger's in Columbus after 28 years of service. She is preceded in death by husband Arthur R. Kidwell, parents Jacob and Daisy Hoffman, Marion, OH, brother George, three sons-in-law and two grandchildren. She is survived by 7 children, Eleanor Boehm, Lancaster, VA., Everett (Bea) Kidwell, Hollywood, FL, Floyd (Sue) Kidwell, Calif., Carl (Teresa) Kidwell, Columbus, OH, Charles (Mary Jane) Kidwell, Delaware, OH, Thelma (Jim) Cherrington, Mt. Vernon, OH, Virginia Wathley, Johnstown, OH.; 28 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 30 great-great-grandchildren; 3 nieces; 4 nephews; and dear friend, Thelma Hahn. She was a member of Lorraine Chapter #1 O.E.S. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2002 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, where the funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2002. LUCICH Dorothy M. Lucich of Irvine, Calif., a native of Columbus, Oh., died May 4, 2002, at Mt. Carmel Medical Center. "Dotti" attended local Catholic schools, graduating from St. Mary of the Springs Academy. She worked as a dental assistant, model, dancer, secretary, and office manager; but once her children were born, they became the focus of her life. She was very active in the schools her children attended, especially in Calif. where she was on the board of the Brentwood School Mothers' Club and held various offices for eleven years. She has been a member of the Juniors of the Social Service, The Pageant of the Masters, Festival of the Arts in Laguna Beach, The Nixon Library, San Diego Zoological Society, among other organizations during the past thirty years in Calif. Dorothy was preceded in death by her father James Kuhn, her mother Helen Alexander Kuhn, and her brother James W. Kuhn. Surviving are her husband, Bernard of Irvine; children, Dori (Clint) Lewis of Houston, Jim (fiancée, Nene) Lucich of San Diego, and Jeff (Virginia) Lucich of Austin; six grandchildren, Trevor, Tyler, and Cody Lewis; Ryan, Dylan and Katelyn Lucich; aunts, Romaine Riggin of Cincinnati and Dorothy Alexander of Columbus; one niece, Lisa Wider of Reynoldsburg; and cousins, Rita Alexander, Phyllis Bishop, Jerry Converse and Madeleine Jo Wharton, of the Columbus area; John Riggin of Cincinnati, Madalene Hubbell of Cleveland; along with several other cousins outside Ohio; and a myriad of friends throughout the country. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., as well as on Thursday beginning at 10 a.m. Family and friends will travel in procession to Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel, on the grounds of St. Joseph cemetery, 6440 S. MARSHALL William E. Marshall, 62, of Columbus, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2002 at his home. A loving husband, father and grandfather who was an avid OSU fan. He is survived by loving wife of 41 years, Pat; children, Steve (Barb) Marshall, Mike Marshall, Gary Marshall, Rick (Jackie) Marshall and Terri Marshall; he will be sadly missed by his 22 grandchildren and extended family; sisters, Marilyn (Bill) Hannan, Patty (Mike) Straight and Carol Ray; sister-in-law, Alice Marshall; and dear friend, Betty Dygert; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Warren and Margaret Marshall and brother Larry Marshall. McCOY Sharon "Jeannie" McCoy, age 54, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on April 9, 2002 in Acworth, Ga., formerly of Columbus, Oh. Preceded in death by her father Brady Clinton McCoy, her grandparents and uncle Gene Donahue. Jeannie is survived by her mother, Naomi Walters of Bradenton, Fla.; brother, Mike (Terre) McCoy of Grove City, Oh.; niece, Melissa (Steve) Callahan; nephew, Brad (Betsy) McCoy; 3 great-nephews, Cody McCoy, Luke and Justin Callahan; many relatives and friends. PACE Betty L. Pace, age 72, of Grove City, passed away Monday, May 6, 2002 in El Cajon, Ca. She was an associate of Franklin Co. Children Services for many years and a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Evans Chapter #191 O.E.S. in Canal Winchester, and former past matron of the O.E.S. in Keystone Hts., Fl. She was preceded in death by her husband William N. Pace. Survived by her children, Gary (Colleen) Pace of Orient, William N. (Patricia) Pace, Jr. of Galloway and Nila (Gene) Woodard of Ashland; grandchildren, Ann, Greg, Josh, and Amy; sister, Mary Hall of Columbus.
