ANDERSON Lossie Mae Anderson, passed away Friday, May 31, 2002 at Lutheran Village Care Center. Retired in the cleaning industry. Preceded in death by parents Brodus and Catherine Blann. Survived by daughter, Alta (Raymond) Young of Fayetteville, NC and sons, Franklin and Roger Little both of Columbus; 3 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. ANDERSON William Rex Anderson, also known as "Dee", age 41, passed away suddenly, Sunday, June 2, 2002 at Grant Medical Center. Mr. Anderson attended Marion Franklin High School and was a member of the Stagehands Local 12. "Dee" was preceded in death by his father David Anderson, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Anne Anderson; grandmother, Ada Phillipp; brothers, David (Debby) Anderson, Jr., Richard (Pam) Anderson and Kenneth Devine; nephew, Jesse Paul Anderson; niece, Lauren C. CARIDAS Mr. Donald Edward Caridas, age 78, of Winter Springs, Fla., passed away Sunday, June 2, 2002. Mr. Caridas was a bus driver for the Central Ohio Transit Authority for over 30 years. He was Protestant and a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II. He is survived by his brother, William Caridas; sister, Barbara Delaney; 3 step-daughters; 7 grandchildren. CUNNINGHAM John Kientz Cunningham, 77, of The Plains, Oh. died at his home Sunday, June 2, 2002. The son of Belford B. and Florence Kientz Cunningham, he was born October 2, 1924 in Glouster, Oh. His mother died seven days after his birth. He was raised in his grandparents' home by his Aunt Eva Kientz. He was a graduate of Glouster High School and Ohio University. During WW II he served in the North Atlantic Wing of the Air Transport Command, Army Air Force. In 1983 he retired from his position as superintendent of the Poston Power Plant where he has worked for 32 years. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Donna King Cunningham; son, John and Joan Cunningham of Athens; three daughters, Jan and Tom Hodson of Athens, Jean and Paul Wildeck of Amesville, and Jill Cunningham of Athens; grandchildren, Sarah and Ryan Ball, Chapel Hill, N.C., Jack Cunningham, and special friend, Rachel Moorehead, North Port, Fla., Brigid Cunningham, Columbus, Oh., Lauren Hodson, Athens, and Clare Wildeck, Amesville; brothers, Frank Cunningham of Denver, Colo., Richard Cunningham of Burbank, Ca.; and half-brother, Harper Cunningham, Livonia, Mich. DiROSARIO Mary Louise DiRosario, age 94, of Worthington, died Sunday, June 2, 2002 at Mayfair Village Nursing Center. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Frank T. DiRosario. Mary Louise was a graduate of North High School and her memberships include St. Michael Church, the St. Charles Mother's Club, St. Michael's Choir, the Ohio State Mother's Club and the Elizabethan Guild. Her survivors include her sons, Thomas F. (Maud), Philip (Barbara), all of Columbus and John (Inez) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren, Gregory DiRosario, Claudina (Jim) Snopik, Douglas DiRosario of Columbus, Michael and Philip DiRosario of Colorado Springs, Colo.; great-grandchildren, Preston and McKenzie DiRosario of Colorado Springs, Colo., Madison and Nathan Snopik of Columbus; and her dear friend, Alice Heller. FALK Lt. Col. Carl R. Falk, U.S.A.F., (Ret.), age 80, Saturday, June 1, 2002 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Lt. Col. Falk served our country in Europe in WW II and was a member of the Military Order of World Wars, Senior V.P. of the Armed Forces Community Relations Council, the 155th A.C.&W., the 37th Division Signal Co., National Sojourners, the American Legion, a life member of V.F.W. Post #2398, and Aladdin Shrine. He is preceded in death by his wife Evelyn. Survived by sister, Betty (Joseph) Sanfillipo; brother, Robert (Betty) Blatt; and many nieces and nephews. GAETH Former State Senator M. Ben Gaeth, 81, Lima, Oh., died Sunday afternoon, June 2, 2002 at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, Oh. Ben was born on June 1, 1921 in Oak Harbor, Oh. to Charles A. and Sophene (Millinger) Gaeth and was raised on a farm near Oak Harbor. He and his wife, Thelma, who survives, moved from Defiance to Outlook Pointe, 2075 N. Eastown Rd. in Lima last August. He was born the youngest of 13 children…and is survived by a brother, John in Westlake, Oh. and sister, Mrs. Marie McCarthy in Traverse City, Mich. Also surviving him are his 3 children, John (Annette) Gaeth in Lima, William (Bonnie) Gaeth in Naperville, Ill. and Mrs. Gretchen (Chris) Landes in Hilliard, Oh.; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Mr. Gaeth graduated from Salem-Oak Harbor High School. After graduating from Bowling Green State University with a B.S. Degree - Business Administration, in 1943, he enlisted as an officer into the U.S. Navy Reserve, and married Thelma John on October 29, 1943. He served in both the Atlantic and Pacific areas on LST duty during WW II and was the recipient of the Purple Heart. In 1946, Ben owned and operated the Mobil Gas Service Station at Symonds Chevrolet Sales in Defiance. In 1947, he operated a chewing gum machine franchise with the Ford Gum and Machine Company. Ben's public service began in 1962 when he was appointed as the Safety Director of the City of Defiance serving from 1962 - 1965. In 1965 he was elected Mayor of Defiance and served three consecutive terms from 1965 to 1974. In November of 1974 he was elected to Ohio Senate serving the First District (one of the largest districts in Ohio including 10 northwest Ohio counties). He was re-elected five times, serving for 24 years, retiring at the end of 1998. While in the Senate, he was Chairman of the Agriculture, Commerce and Labor Committee, Vice-Chairman of Highways, Transportation and Local Government Committee, and member of the Energy, Natural Resources and Environment Committee, the Unemployment Compensation Advisory Commission, the State and Local Government Commission, the Used Tire Recovery Task Force, the Drought Assistance and Relief Team, Statewide Motor Carrier Advisory Committee and others. Mr. Gaeth was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Defiance, Oh., where he served as an Ordained Elder plus he was a member of Kettering Country Club. He was past President, Ohio Municipal League, past President of Mayors' Association of Ohio. Member of Masonic Order, American Legion, AmVets, Rotary Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Order of the Purple Heart, Defiance Area Chamber of Commerce, past President, United Way of Defiance, BPO Elks, Eagles, Loyal Order of Moose, served as Defiance County G.O.P., Finance Chairman and member of various other organizations. Service will be held Friday, June 7 at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Defiance, Oh. Interment will follow at Riverside cemetery in Defiance. Calling hours will be Thursday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the MAST-MOCK-HOFFMAN FUNERAL HOME, 529 Jefferson Ave., Defiance, Oh. and 1 hour (10-11 a.m.) prior to the service at the church on Friday. Preferred memorials are to the First Presbyterian Church or to the donor's choice.

HILLEN Billy Lew Hillen, age 78, of New Marshfield, Oh., died at Doctor's Hospital, Nelsonville, Oh., early Sunday afternoon, June 2, 2002. Born Chauncey, Oh., March 7, 1924, son of the late Clarence and Clara G. Champlin Hillen. He was a retired welder for Fruehauf Trailer Manufacturing of Columbus, Oh. A veteran of the Army having served in the European Theatre. Survived by brother, Darrel (Flossie) Hillen, New Marshfield, Oh.; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Donna Rogers, Glouster, Oh. He was preceded in death by sisterS Beulah Foreman and Wanda Windland, brothers Russell and Clarence B. Hillen. There will be no visitation or funeral service at the deceased request. JONES William Chalmers Jones, age 82, died May 31, 2002 in Juno Beach, Fla. after an extended illness. Born in Columbus, Oh. and lived in the Jupiter, Fla. area the past 27 years. Prior to moving to Fla. he resided in Gahanna, Oh., where he retired with Rockwell International in 1975. He was active in the Mifflin Presbyterian Church in Gahanna for 16 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Jupiter/Tequesta. He also served as a trustee on The Harry C. Moores Foundation and was a WW II Army Veteran. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Ruth E. Jones and his second wife Mary Jones. Surviving family members are sister, Marjorie Fry of Fla.; son, Kirk; daughter, Cheryl Davis; daughter-in-law, Deborah Jones; grandchildren, Carrie J. Jones and Mary E. Jones, all of Columbus, Oh.; plus several loving and caring nieces and nephews in Fla., Okla. And Ind. Burial by cremation and ashes will be interned at Riverside Memorial Park, Jupiter, Fla. Graduate of Steubenville Central Catholic High School and Mount Carmel School of Nursing, where she began her 42 year devoted career as a Registered Nurse and Nursing Supervisor.
