AUGENSTEIN Alice Mae (Howells), age 74, went triumphantly home to be with her Lord on Friday, June 7, 2002, in Columbus. Member of Linworth (Clintonville) Baptist Church for over 27 years where she faithfully worked with the children in Sunday School, Moppets and nursery, and was active in the church choir, ensembles and as soloist. Executive Board Officer, Baptists for Life of Central Ohio. Retired from F.& R. Lazarus. Graduate of West High School and Baptist Bible College, Johnson City, N.Y. Preceded in death by parents Pauline and Walter Howells, and brothers Thomas, Harry, Jack and Frank. Survived by sister, Dolores and brothers, James and George. Beloved wife of Edwin (Warner) Augenstein, married for over 47 years; cherished mother of Paula (Al) Kluczynski, David (Lora) Augenstein, Lois (Kevin) Huff, Sharon (Greg) Moran of Mich., John (Holly) Augenstein, and Stephen (Julie) Augenstein of Ill. Dearly loved grandmother of Jim and Mike Hammond; Jonathan Kluczynski, Emily, Nathanael, and Jacobsen Augenstein; Timothy and Rebecca Huff; Baker, Regan and Riley Moran; Grant Augenstein; greatly anticipated grandchild from son, Stephen and Julie; many other family members and dear friends. CHERRY Jessie Lee Cherry, 92, June 6, 2002 in Arlington, Va. Formerly of Columbus. Retired school teacher. Member of Fairmoor Presbyterian Church. Preceded in death by husband William F. Cherry. Survived by daughters, Diane K. Cherry, Columbus, and Nancy (Roger) Fones, Arlington, Va.; brother, J.W. Taylor of Tennessee; nieces and nephews. Entombment Green Lawn cemetery. CONRAD Joseph A. Conrad, age 87, Saturday, June 8 2002, at Friendship Village of Columbus. Born July 20, 1914 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Xavier and Jeannette Czonstka. Graduated from Loyola University of Chicago with a Ph.B. in 1937 and a JD in 1940. Admitted to the Bar of the State of Illinois. A member of Pi Alpha Lambda fraternity. Retired from the Western Electric Co. (now Lucent Technogolies) in 1980 after 36 years of service. Former president of the Central Ohio Chapter of the Institude of Internal Auditors. A long time member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, where he was the founding president of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, an office he held for 26 years. Recently, a member of St. Elizabeth parish. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years Genevieve in January, 2000 and his sisters, Regina (John) Klest and Mary Ann (Edmund) Zelman. He is survived by daughters, Sister Jeanne, O.P. of Columbus, Christine (Charles) Stoltz of Trenton, Mich., Catherine (William) Dotzauer of Worthington, Marie (Joseph) O'Toole of Lansdale, Pa.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brother, Norbert (June) of San Benito, Tex.; brother-in-law, Joseph (Lillian) Parks; sisters-in-law, Marian Jacobs, Roseann Gray, Veronica Paprocki, all of Chicago; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Veteran WW II. Survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Billie; children, Cynthia J. McCandless, Dr. Steven Brian (Karen) England, Cathryn J. (B.J.) Vest; grandchildren, Sean McCandless, Joshua, Cereda and Caitlin Vest, Nicholas England; brothers, Eldon (Rosemary) and Melvin (Nancy) England. Was an employee of Ohio Malleable Plant for 20 years and retired from OSU Hospital with 10 years of service. Preceded in death by son Michael Fain. Survived by devoted wife, Pauline; son, Jonathan Fain; daughters, Debra, Cynthia, Jeretta, Donna and Paula Fain, and Lisa (Jerome) Osbourne, all of Columbus; sisters, Elizabeth Cain of Dante, Va. and Mary K. Fain of Bronx, NY; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services 11 a.m. Tuesday, Mt. FOREMAN Robert G. Foreman, 79, of London, died Saturday, June 8, 2002, 1:40 p.m. at Doctor's Hospital West. He is survived by his wife, Betty Morris Foreman; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Harry Sheridan of London, Shelby and Robert Nichols of Plain City; son and daughter-in-law, R. Michael and Sharon Foreman of Amanda, Ohio; step-daughter, Patty (Dennis) Boerger of Plain City; sister, Sue Green of London; grandchildren, Lisa Hill, Shawn Bennett, Carol Conn, Kay McSeveny, Jason and Kevin Foreman; step-grandchildren, Drew Boerger and Ann Boerger; 19 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Dorothy "Dot" Foreman, son Meredith Eugene Foreman, sister Mary Littleton and grandson Eddie Sexton. He spent most of his life as a resident of Grandview Heights and was an active member of Boulevard Presbyterian Church. Retired employee of Carson Pirie Scott. Preceded in death by parents Fern and Marie, brother Neil and son Jerry. He was a devoted and loving husband, survived by his wife of 55 years, Alice; sons, Dean of Columbus and Randy (Barbara) of Chillicothe; grandsons, Billy, Brian and Scott; good family friend, Jim Sims; many brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. HARPER (COLDREN) Nancy A. (Coldren) Harper, age 72, of Upper Arlington, died Saturday, June 08, 2002 at Kobacker House after a courageous battle with her illness. She was born January 22, 1930. Nancy is survived by her husband of 53 years, John E. Harper; daughters, Tari Harper, Holly (Geoff) Wingard, Robin (Larry) Hastings; grandchildren, Andrew, Natalie, Addie, Destiny, and Mick; sister, Pat (John) Haldi; brother, William (Wanda) Coldren; and many nieces and nephews. She was a loving wife, gracious mother, giving grandmother, and friend to all. HIRSCHBERG Erika Anna Hirschberg, born Plattner, in Vienna, Austria on February 7, 1923, died at Riverside Hospital on June 7, 2002. To the end she maintained her intelligence, humor and love of music and independence. Her absence leaves a huge hole in the lives of her loving family.
