Veteran U.S. Navy WW II Pacific Theater. Preceded in death by wife Wilma "Billie" and son Gail. Survived by sons, Glen England, Brooklyn, N.Y., Gene (Tamara) Beaird, Columbus; grandsons, Jeremy Tudor and Michael Stephenson; close companion, Alberta Hall; and all her family nieces, nephews and friends. BROCK Meredith Rhodes Brock, age 92, died at Westminster Towers in Bradenton, Fla., on June 11, 2002. Retired Engineer for the City of Columbus. Member of the Masonic Lodge No. 30 F&AM. Preceded in death by beloved wife Alice Evans Brock to whom he was married 70 years. Survived by loving daughter & son, Judy (Jim) Bush and M. Robert (Yvonne) Brock; eight loved grandchildren, Jim (Lisa) Bush, Erin (Dr. Carl) Bates, Shannon (Honorable Scott) Van Der Karr, Allison Bush, Brenda Bush-Sayre, Martin (Vicky) Brock, Teri (Joel) Serowoky and Dale (Debbie) Brock; nine great-grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his happy, fun-loving personality and tireless help to family, friends and neighbors. He had a love of music and played the organ and wrote poetry, some of which was published. As an avid golfer, he belonged to the elite group of "hole in one." At a young age, he loved flying and eventually owned his own plane. Family has requested no calling hours. Private entombment Green Lawn cemetery. BURKE William Burke, age 78, June 12, 2002 at Columbus Health Care Center. Retired from Defense Construction Supply Center. Member St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church and The Knights of Columbus. Veteran US Navy. Preceded in death by parents, son Patrick Michael Burke, one brother and two sisters. Survived by wife, Florence Burke; daughter, Lisa (Greg) Ferrence; granddaughter, Amanda Ferrence; sister, Kathleen Winters; numerous friends, nieces and nephews. BUTT Robert "Bob" Butt, age 79, of Columbus died Wednesday, June 12, 2002 at Pataskala Oaks Care Center, Pataskala, Ohio. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2002 at CROUSE-KAUBER-SAMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 225 N. Main St., Johnstown, Ohio. Burial will be in Green Hill cemetery. Mr. Butt was born December 7, 1922 in Johnstown, Ohio to the late Roy and Daisy Mae Alberry Butt. He was owner of the Le-High Carryout, member of the US Army during WWII, a horse owner and loved to race horses. Survived by daughter, Rhonda (John) Thomson of Pataskala; son, Robert Caldwell of Springfield, Ohio; two brothers, Harold (Ruby) Butt of Hilliard and Francis (Wanata) Butt of Oxford, Ohio; sister, Tina Stefka of Johnstown; one grandson; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife Wilda Hubbard Butt and one brother Floyd Butt. Family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2002 at the funeral home. CARMEAN Mary Patricia "Patty" (Powers) Carmean, age 76, of Grove City, went to be with her Lord on Monday, June 10, 2002. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and a graduate of Holy Family High School. Preceded in death by her parents Patrick and Florence Powers, an infant daughter Regina, and a sister Helen F. Campbell. Patty is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Robert Carmean; her beloved children, Daniel (Maureen) Carmean of Grove City, Pamela (Robert) Toms of IN, Robert (Janette) Carmean of Orient, Timothy and Michael Carmean of Athens and Barbara (Jeffrey) Johnson of Galloway; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 584 West Broad St., Columbus. Fr. Shawn Corcoran officiating. Interment St. Joseph cemetery. CARTER Mary Eldora Carter, age 78, of Columbus, died Monday, June 10, 2002 at Arlington Court Nursing Home. She is preceded in death by her husband William S. Carter and her parents George A. & Esther (Thompson) Righter. Her survivors include her cousins, David Thompson, Georgia Summer, Mary Huiett & Dorothy Heffner and many friends. She was a member of the Chicago Avenue Christian Church and the Anchor Class as well as the Redman Lodge, Souix Tribe No. 128. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2002 at the RUTHERFORD-SCHROYER FUNERAL HOME, 1278 West Broad Street, Columbus, with the Rev. Ed Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 7-9 p.m.

CHANEY Elsie F. Chaney, age 85, of Sabina, Ohio, died Tuesday June 11, 2002. Surviving are children, Richard (Ellen) Chaney and Stephen (Roxane) Chaney all of Columbus. Funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Sabina Church of Christ, Sabina, Ohio. CHAPMAN Ardis Ellis Chapman, age 92, of Columbus, died Sunday, June 9, 2002 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Born December 21, 1909 in Belle Center, Oh. to the late Claude Renick and Estelle (Williams) Ellis. Ardis is preceded in death by her husband Edward Michael Chapman and son Richard Owen Chapman. She is survived by her children, Elaine (Philip) Clark of Worthington, Michael (Arvella) Chapman of Centerburg, Hayden (Norma) Chapman of Columbus, Stefen (Corrine) Chapman of Troy, Oh. and Bronwen (Wayne) Schuetz of New Braunfels, Tex.; 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, very good neighbors and friends. She was formerly a secretary at Epworth United Methodist Church. Ardis was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of 1812, Ohio Geneological Society, Society of First Families of Ohio, the Ohio Historical Society and the Welsh Society of Central Ohio. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2002 at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High St., Worthington, 614-885-4006. Interment Fairview cemetery, Belle Center, Oh. CIRONE William Michael "Blu" Cirone, age 54, of Gahanna, on Monday June 10, 2002 at his residence. Retired after 31 years with Ameritech. Veteran U.S. Marine Corp, Viet Nam, Purple Heart recipient. Member of Communication Workers of America Local No. 4320. Preceded in death by mother Mary A. Cirone. Survived by wife, Nina Cirone and her children, Christopher Poches, Wendy Poches, Scott (Samantha) Poches; grandchildren, Taylor, Alexander and Lillian; father, Michael A. Cirone. Memorial Service 5 p.m. Saturday June 15, 2002 at New Life Community Baptist Church, 3690 Stygler Road, Gahanna. Contributions may be made to the family care of the church in Blu's memory. COLLIER Carolyn Sue Collier, age 57, died June 11, 2002 at Grant Hospital. Preceded in death by parents Melvin and Myrtle Howard, brother Donald, sisters Bobby Jean and Katherine. Survived by husband of 33 years, Eskel; sons, John (Brenda) Collier and Charles (Kathy) Collier; daughter, Nina (Jeff) Gregg; grandchildren, John "Bubby" Collier Jr., Ashley Collier and J.J., Cory and Nikki Gregg and 3 others; three brothers; three sisters; and many other friends and family. CRAMTON Kathryn Cameron Redkey Cramton, age 102, of Martinsville, Ohio died June 12, 2002 at her home. Her husband, John Heber Cramton died Feb. 10, 1990. They were married Dec. 16, 1926 in Hillsboro, Ohio. Mrs. Cramton is survived by daughter, Maxine Cramton of Columbus; one son, James H. Cramton of Martinsville; a granddaughter, Julie (Bryan) Holland of Cincinnati; a grandson, John H. Cramton of Columbus; a sister, Dorothy M. Koch of Wilmington, Ohio; and 3 great-grandchildren. Service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2002 at Martinsville United Methodist Church, Martinsville, Ohio with Rev. Michael Barthel officiating. Burial will follow in I.O.O.F. cemetery, Martinsville, Ohio. Friends may call at the church of Monday, June 17, 2002 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. time of service. DAILEY Richard A. Dailey, age 61, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2002. Veteran of US Army. He was an outdoorsman and loved to fish and hunt. Preceded in death by parents Leonard and Margaret, and four brothers. Survived by daughters, Vicky, Robin (Steve) Rakes, and Cheryl; son, Tracy; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brothers, David and "Babe"; many nieces and nephews.
