COOK Wilma Eleanor Marshall Cook, 85, of Columbus, Oh., formerly of Wheeling, W.Va., died Sunday, August 4, 2002 at the Whetstone Gardens and Care Center, Columbus, Oh. She was born March 15, 1917 in Wheeling, W.Va., daughter of the late Elisha and Edith Majors Marshall. Wilma was a Jehovah's Witness. She was a retired furrier for Montaldo's Furs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence A. Cook, 1956, 2 sons Lawrence M. and Randall R. Cook, 5 brothers and 1 sister. Surviving are sons, Clark Cook and his wife, Phyllis of Columbus, Oh. and David Cook of Miami Beach, Fla.; daughters, Jean Lehman and her husband, Calvin of Columbus, Oh., Jane Becht and her husband, Lyle of Sioux Falls, S.D., Judy Augustus and her husband, Michael of Columbus, Oh.; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters, Eileen Fonner of Fort McCoy, Fla. and Regina Yockey of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service 2 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2002 at the Kingdom Hall, 1190 E. Hudson St., Columbus, Oh. Arrangements by KEPNER FUNERAL HOME, Wheeling, W.Va.

DAVIS Vernon W. Davis, 75, of Delaware, died Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born October 7, 1926 in Pittsburgh, PA to William G. and Mabel (King) Davis. He was a WW II Army veteran. He is survived by 7 sons, Vernon Davis Jr., Keith (Cindy) Davis, Eric Davis, all of Delaware, Dennis Davis of Colo., David (Jennifer) Davis and Terry (Donnilynn) Davis, both of Columbus and Larry (Rose) Davis of Springfield, OH.; 1 daughter, Sherie (Gerald) Day of Delaware; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Betty L. Davis and his parents. FORAN JoAnne E. Foran, 72, of E. Broad St., Columbus, passed away Monday, August 5, 2002 at the home of her friend. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the SECOR FUNERAL HOME, Willard, Oh., where the funeral will be held Thursday 1 p.m. Burial Greenwood cemetery, Willard. FOUNDS Josephine E. Founds, age 89, of Pickerington, Wednesday, August 7, 2002 at her residence. Born August 26, 1912 in Baltimore to the late Lloyd and Elmina (Sparr) Belt. She was a 1930 graduate of Liberty Union High School, and the Grant School of Nursing in 1933. She worked for many doctors, hospitals and nursing homes in the Columbus area, did private nursing, and worked for the Red Cross until she retired. Member of Peace United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by her husband Roy in 1982, sisters Floy Belt Buchann, Sorais Belt Fitzgerald, brothers Orville, Clifford and Arthur Belt, nephew James Storts. Survived by sisters-in-law, Ruth Founds Braskett and Helen Founds; nieces and nephews. There will be no service. Private interment will be at Arlington Field of Honor. Arrangements by DWAYNE R. GLOVER Thomas L. Glover, age 61, of Westerville, Oh., passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at his residence. He was born September 21, 1940 in Covington, Va. to the late E. Dayton and Frances (Ray) Glover. He graduated in 1958 from Covington High School in Covington, Va. and a 1964 graduate of Virginia Polytechnical Institute in Mechanical Engineering. He was employed for two years at Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co.; from 1966 to 1982 he was employed at B.F. Goodrich in Troy, Oh. as a General Manager of Aerospace Technology; from 1983 to 1988 was president oo Lincoln Corp. in St. Louis, Mo.; and from 1988 to the present time he was owner and president of TLG Electronics in Columbus, Oh. He is survived by his wife, Sally A. (Ballard); 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas L. and Missy Glover Jr. of London, Oh., David and Julie Glovcer of Troy, Oh.; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Michael Peppo of Troy, Oh.; 1 step-son and wife, Roderick and Karen Cheney of Troy, Oh.; 1 step-daughter and husband, Marty and Andrew Herron of Costa Mesa, Ca.; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, David Ray and Linda Glover of Clayton, N.C., J. Donald and Terri Glover of Milledgeville, Ga. and D. Ronald and Pat Glover of Florence, S.C.; 1 sister, Louise G. Lipes of Covington, Va.; 5 grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Saturday, August 10, 2002 at 2:30 p.m. at the FISHER-CHENEY FUNERAL HOME, Troy, Oh. with Pastor Gill Krouse officiating. GOTSCHALL Jeffrey Lloyd Gotschall, 47, passed away Monday, August 5, 2002 at his residence. Jeff was a professional theatrical photographer for the Ballet Met, Opera Columbus, Otterbein College Theatrical Department, Columbus Dance Theatre, Zivilie, and the OSU Department of Dance. Jeff was employed for 20 years as a medical equipment and supplies salesman. He was also a lector and usher at St. Margaret of Cortona Catholic Church. Jeff is preceded in death by his sister Rebecca Gotschall and mother-in-law Marcelle A. Kulka. Surviving Jeff is his loving wife of 24 years, Andrea Gotschall; daughters, Emily Ann Gotschall and Molly Beth Gotschall; parents, H. Dale and Margaret J. (Pfeiffer) Gotschall; brothers, Douglas Gotschall, Mark (Jodi) Gotschall and Brad (Donna) Gotschall; maternal grandmother, Ruth E. Pfeiffer; and father-in-law, Robert (Diane) Kulka. Also surviving Jeff are numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family will receive friends at the JOHN QUINT & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Ave. on Friday, August 9, 2002 from 5-9 p.m. with a prayer service at 8 p.m. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2002 at St. Margaret of Cortona Catholic Church, 1600 N. GROSSMAN Mindy Grossman, of Columbus, passed away August 5, 2002. Survived by daughter, Leah Grossman; son, Noah Whipple; parents, Roger and Frances Whipple; brother, Mark S. HARPER Karl W. Harper, 76, Washington C.H., Tuesday in Columbus. World War II Navy veteran. Survived by wife, Nancy; daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Dave Houchen of Litchfield, Mich., MaryAnn and Sam Victor of Hilliard; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Carl (Betty) Weis of Cincinnati. Funeral Saturday at 2 p.m. at KIRKPATRICK FUNERAL HOME in Washington C.H. Burial in Sugar Creek Baptist cemetery. Visitation one hour prior to the service on Saturday. HARRISON Herbert H. Harrison, age 75, of Columbus, suddenly Tuesday, August 6, 2002, Grant Hospital. Retired Warehouseman, D.C.S.C. Survived by brother, Clifford Harrison, Worthington; nephews, Richard and Michael Harrison; niece, Hope Powers; 2nd cousin, Barbara Chesbrew, Columbus. HEFLIN Ralph E. Heflin, 41, of Columbus, passed away Friday, August 2, 2002 at O.S.U. East Hospital. He was a HVAC technician. Preceded in death by father Richard P. Heflin. Survived by his mother, Phyllis J. Ohde; his brothers, Richard (Deborah) Heflin, Ronald (Sandra) Heflin and Randel (Karen) Heflin; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2002 in the chapel at Green Lawn cemetery.

HUGHES John L. Hughes, "Pawdy", 79, of Columbus, died 9:30 p.m. August 5, 2002 in The Ohio State University Hospital following an extended illness. He was born December 6, 1922 in Pickens Co., Ala., to the late Lular W. and Lillie B. Ward Hughes. On December 17, 1949, he married the former Esther B. Lett, who survives. Also surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Maria (Donald) Ragland, Columbus; son and daughter-in-law, John (Katrina) Hughes, Germany; daughter, Deborah Carter, Columbus; grandchildren, Mark, Tiffany and Chase Ragland, Summer Henson, Lewchaana, Misty, Fleetwood and Michael Carter, John and Johnita Hughes; great-grandchildren, Stephon and Malin Ragland, Elante and Lewis Carter-Moore, Monet Carter and Arthur Harris Jr.; brother, Larry (Alice) Hughes, Irvine, Calif.; sister, Odesta Thomas, Massieville, Oh.; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Payne Hughes and Lydia Conley Hughes; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by 8 brothers and 1 sister. Mr. Hughes accepted Christ at an early age. He was a retired concrete finisher and a member of the Concrete Finishers Union Local 132. He also was a member of the Kennedy Lodge 93 F&AM. Mr. Hughes served his country in the Army during WW II. Friends may call 11 a.m. Friday at HALLER FUNERAL HOME, 1661 Western Ave., Chillicothe, where funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2002 with Bishop Melvin Maughmer officiating. JONES Dr. James C. Jones, age 75, of Westerville, Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at Mt. Carmel Hospital East. Retired chiropractor. Former member of Linden Northeast Lions Club. Survived by daughters, Julie Turk of Westerville and Jennifer Zidar of Bexley; sons, John Jones of Westerville and Jim Jones of Pittsburgh, PA.; 11 grandchildren; brother, Charlie Jones; sister, Altha Myers, both of Newark, Oh. No Visitation. Graveside service and burial will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2002 at Blendon Central cemetery at the corner of Hempstead and Dempsey Roads, Westerville. KAISER Christine Marie (Burke) Miller Kaiser, 85, died at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Oh. on August 7, 2002. She was born on March 8, 1917 in Springfield, Oh., the only child of Robert L. Burke and Marie (Mechlin) Burke. Most recently, Chris was a member of Clermont Retirement Village in Columbus where she will be remembered as an ardent conversationalist and for the love of growing flowers. She was the widow of the late Daniel (Don) Kaiser, who died in April 2002. They raised five children and celebrated 50 years of marriage (November 2001). Before Clermont, Don and Chris lived for forty years on Renner Road near Hilliard-Rome Road in Norwich Township. Christine lived with a passion for life that included a fondness for poetry, family events and playing cards, as well as, over 60 years as a Democratic Poll Worker in Franklin County (Dispatch, B. Carmen, 10.31.1999). A 1935 graduate of Lakewood High School (Cuyahoga County), she also attended Columbus West High School. She married the late Inglis Miller in Columbus in 1935, and they had 3 children, Susanne, Robert and Inglis, Jr. Christine and Daniel Kaiser were married in 1951, and they had one son, Daniel N. Kaiser and a daughter from a prior marriage, the late Nancy E. (Kaiser) Agriesti. Christine was preceded in death by one daughter Nancy E. (Kaiser) Agriesti, late wife of Daniel Agriesti of Galloway and one son, the late Robert E. Miller of Milan, Oh. She is survived by one daughter, Susanne Miller Fondaw and husband, James of Milan, Oh.; and two sons, Inglis Miller, Jr. and wife, Linda of North Carolina, and Daniel N. Kaiser and wife, Cathy of Columbus. Christine also leaves 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Kaiser dedicated her life to Jesus Christ, and in recent years, she attended Xenos Christian Fellowship in Columbus. Viewing will be Friday 7-9 p.m. and Saturday 10-11 a.m. A funeral is scheduled for Saturday 11 a.m., August 10, 2002 at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Hilliard, Oh. with interment following at Wesley Chapel cemetery, Hilliard, Oh.

KETCHUM John W. Ketchum, died June 30, 2002 in Phoenix, Ariz. Born and educated in Piqua, Oh., Johnny served in the Army in WW II in both the Phillipines and Japan. In 1948 he moved to Columbus where he opened his own business as a Manufacturers' rep for ventilating and finishing company, this was to become the Ketchum and Walton Company that is still operating under the same name. He is survived by his wife, Sally; brother, Al (Betty); nephew, Perry (Helen); nieces, Mary (Pete) Dykhouse and Barbara (Dick) Mitchell. Johnny was preceded in death by his only son, William Ritter Ketchum. Johnny was known as "Mr. Volleyball" in Columbus for all he put into the sport. Started at age 16 playing and fell in love with it; he played into his 50's with the local YMCA and earned honorable mention All-American in 1951 and 1952, and was instrumental in bringing the United States Volleyball National Open Championships to Columbus in 1952. He encouraged young players he encouraged, Doug Beal, is now the coach for the U.S. Men's National Team which plays around the world. He served as the Chairman of the YMCA Volleyball Council for many years, and was extremely active in the United States Volleyball Association, serving on committees for the National Tournament Site Selection, Public Relations, Olympic Selections and player and team eligibility, served as Vice-President, 1962-1969. He also represented the National Council of YMCA's on the USVBA Board. In 2000 he was instrumental in bringing the Nationals back to Columbus, and to his surprise found that they were dedicated to him. Johnny was known for his gourmet cooking ability, his very true Tenor voice and his comedic talents. He was in Vaudvillities for over 35 years. He was a member of Scioto Country Club where he was very active in tennis. He contributed much of his time to Kiwanis, and for 40 years didn't miss a meeting if he was in town. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to any childrens' charities, USAVB or American Cancer Society. Most of all he will be remembered for his kind and thoughtful treatment of any and all who met him. A Memorial Service will take place in early September.

LENT Donald E. Lent, age 63, Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at his residence. Retired from Allen Refractories in May 2001. Survived by wife, Margaret; children, Theresa (William) Pugh, Alison (Mark) Detty, Dawn (Adam) Thompson and Shawn (Teri) Lent; 15 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; sisters, Joy (Kenny) Yeagle, Shirley (Scott) McCollister and Liz Robinson; nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday 7-9 p.m. and Friday 10-11 a.m. at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL, 4019 E. Livingston Ave., where the Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Friday. Rev. LITTLER Edward Lee Littler, age 78, of Columbus, died unexpectedly Sunday, August 4, 2002 at his home. He was born August 20, 1923 in Pioneer, Oh. and was raised in Springfield and Bellfontaine. He Graduated from Zanesfield High School and served in the Merchant Marine during WW II. He worked on the railroads and was a salesman for several companies, including Jewel Tea. Retired from the US Postal Service. Member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Preceded in death by parents Charles and Esta Littler, wife Dorothy L. Littler and nephew Gene Watkins. Survived by son, Christian Littler; sisters, Gracetta Williams of Reynoldsburg and Mary Alice Watkins of Bellfontaine; nephew, Larry Williams of Columbus; brother-in-law, Jerry Dover of Phoenix; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Dover of Upper Arlington; and many friends, and his blue and gold macaw, Spice. Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER CLEVELAND AVENUE CHAPEL, 2741 Cleveland Avenue, where funeral service will be held Friday August 9, 2002 at 10 a.m. Interment Kingwood Memorial Park. Rev. G.A. Haubrich officiating.
