HALL Fred H. Hall, D.D.S., age 81, of Upper Arlington, passed away Monday, August 19, 2002 at his home. He retired as a private practice dentist after 39 years in practice. He was born March 22, 1921 in Columbus, Oh., the son of Dr. Fred E. and Xenna (Hamner) Hall. He was preceded in death by his first wife Josephine Sharp Hall, 1965, second wife Lillian Huddy Hall, 2001, brother Dr. William L. Hall, 1997 and grandson Rob Mohney. He is survived by his daughters, Jacklyn (Mark) Zapert, Columbus, Linda Hall, Charlotte, NC and Nancy (Frank) Eilberg, Rocky River, OH; son, Steven (Cindy) Hall, Upper Arlington; grandchildren, David Mohney, Susan Davis, Eric, Andrew and Douglas Eilberg, Maggie and Patrick Hall; 4 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Fred was a graduate of The Ohio State University and College of Dentistry at The Ohio State University in 1950, where he was a member of Psi Omega fraternity. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He was a member of Northwest United Methodist Church; Community Lodge #684 F&AM; Tri Village Shrine Club; Tri Village Lions Club; Columbus Maennerchor and many national, state and local dental associations. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road. Funeral service 11 a.m. Friday at Northwest United Methodist Church, 5200 Riverside Drive with Rev. Harold Davidson and Rev. Debra Holder officiating. Entombment Union cemetery. HARRIS Earl H. Harris, age 85, born January 10, 1917, Columbus, Oh., died August 5, 2002, Loma Linda, CA. He retired from Buckeye Union Insurance as a printer. He served Eastwood S.D.A. Church as Elder. In 1934, he received the 1st of many golf awards at Bridgeview Golf Course. He was a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Army (3* years). He is survived by his son, Stanley E. Harris, M.D. of Los Angeles, CA; daughter, Carol Camm and son-in law, Dr. Thomas Camm; grandsons, John and Tom Camm of Columbus, OH; sisters, Grace Hall of Buckeye Lake, Ruth Sailor of Gahanna, Norma Coccia (nephew, Mark Coccia) of Westerville, Betty Lou (Dale) Rowe of Sun City, AZ; sister-in-law, Betty Harris; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by wife Beatrice Harris, brothers Albert, Edward and Harry Harris and sisters Eva Shull and Juanita Dick. Memorial Service will be held at the Eastwood Seventh-day Adventist Church, 250 Napoleon Ave., Columbus, OH 43213 on August 24, 2002 at 2:30 p.m. Private internment will be at Riverside cemetery, Sunbury Rd., Columbus, OH. Donations may be made to the Earl Harris Memorial Fund at Eastwood S.D.A. Church.

HARRIS Smith Anthony "Tony" Harris, age 47, passed Sunday, August 18, 2002. Homegoing service Friday 11 a.m. in the chapel of DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Long St. Mr. Harris will lie in state Friday after 9 a.m. at the mortuary, with the family receiving friends 10 a.m. until start of service. Interment Evergreen cemetery.

HOCKMAN Clayton Hockman, age 91, died Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at The Forum at Knightsbridge. He was a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University with a Major in Physical Education. He taught mathematics and physics and coached at both Corning and Thornville prior to being employed by MacMillan Publishing Company in sales. He was a Salesman for 20 years and Regional Sales Manager for 17 years. He served the Order of Kentucky Colonel, and was a 32-degree Mason. His hobbies were officiating basketball and football in both high school and college. He was active in farming in Pickaway County. He served as National President of the Professional Bookmen of America. He was very active in the Bexley United Methodist Church and also served on commissions of the West Ohio Methodist Conference. He married Louise Milgate Hockman on July 21, 1935, and they celebrated their sixty-sixth wedding anniversary last year on July 21. Preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Blanche Hockman, wife Louise "Peg" Hockman and sister Jeannette Chilcote. Survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Mary Ann of Aurora, Oh., Jerry and Sharon of Springfield, Oh.; grandchildren, Diane, David, Traci, Kerry and Erin; 2 great-grandchildren; and brother, Ottie Hockman. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the SCHOEDINGER MIDTOWN CHAPEL, 229 E. State St. Funeral service 11 a.m. Friday at Bexley United Methodist Church, 2657 E. Broad St. Interment Green Summit cemetery in Adelphi, Oh. Contributions may be made to the Bexley United Methodist Church in his memory.

HOWELL Murriel Marie Howell, 82, passed away Friday, August 16, 2002 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Served on the Mothers Board at Seventh Ave. Baptist Church. Survived by sons, James (Diane) Hairston and David (Barb) Hairston; daughters, Elsie Hairston and Sandra Cole, all of Columbus and Marvine (Richard) Thomas of Circleville; 17 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2002 at the Seventh Ave. Baptist Church, 28 E 7th Ave. Pastor Emmett Moore Jr. eulogizing. Family will receive friends at 10 a.m. until time of service. HUFFMAN Oscar Huffman, born March 4, 1916 in Carter County, Ky., died August 21, 2002 at home. Retired from C&O Railroad. A member of the Southeast Conservation Club. He served in C.C.C. Preceded in death by wife Mary (Fannin) Huffman, parents Orville and Georgia (Bradshaw) Huffman, sister Bertha Leslie, brother Walter W. Huffman, son-in-law Garland Copley. He is the loving father of Charles (Gladys) Huffman of Columbus, Virginia Copley of Columbus; step-son, Don (Naomi) Cantrel of Defiance, Oh.; grandchildren, Teresa (David) Perry, Ronda (Brian) O'Reilly, Bobby Huffman Jr., Mark (Tammy) Franklin and Michael (Sherri) Franklin; 7 great-grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 9 step-great-grandchildren; special friend, Anna Massey. Visitation will be held at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 1346 S. High St., Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Additional visitation Friday 6-9 p.m. at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson, Ky., where the funeral service will be held Saturday 2 p.m. Interment Fannin cemetery in Boltsfork, Ky. KELLENBERGER Velma F. Kellenberger, age 92, of Westerville, Monday, August 19, 2002 at home. Registered Nurse. Member of Church of the Messiah United Methodist, Westerville Senior Center and 20 year volunteer of Life Care Alliance. Preceded in death by husband George C. and daughter Regina L. Kellenberger. Survived by daughters, Mary Louise Kellenberger of Gahanna and Carol (Robert) Hartwell of Richmond, KY.; granddaughter, Kimberle (Chris) Prunty of Orlando, Fla.; brother, Ralph Sturtz of Sycamore, Oh.; good friend, Marlene Carnahan of Westerville. KOHAR Michael A. Kohar Sr., age 58, of Lancaster, beloved, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, died Wednesday, August 21, 2002 at his home. He was a member of St. Mary Church and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman whose greatest pleasure was spending time at his cabin. Michael chose the sign industry to display his artistic talents. His career included 20 years at Vacuform Industries in Columbus and most recently at Signal Sign Corporation in Lancaster. Michael is survived by his wife, Linda L. Kohar; son and daughter-in-law, Michael A. and Michelle Kohar Jr. of Columbus; son, Trevor Brack of FL; daughter, Stacy Brack of Muncy, PA; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and David Mitchell of Dayton; 2 grandchildren, Chase Mitchell and Conner Brack; sister, Jean (Bill) Fairchild of Reynoldsburg; 2 brothers, John (Pat) Kohar of Reynoldsburg, Lawrence (Ms. Mel Ward) Kohar of Canal Winchester; 3 nieces; 1 nephew; 4 great-nieces and 2 great-nephews. His parents John and Margaret Kohar preceded him in death. Funeral Mass will be held 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Church in Lancaster with the Fr. Donald E. Franks officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph cemetery in Columbus, Oh. Friends may visit from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the SHERIDAN FUNERAL HOME in Lancaster. LAYTON Clay L. Layton, 27, went home on Friday, August 16, 2002. Graduate of Independence High School. A veteran of the U.S. Navy. Survived by mother, Shirley I. Gibson; brother, Jesse E. LINK Vinal Thurston Link, age 87, of Brown Twp., Sunbury, died Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at Manor Care of Westerville. Born October 8, 1914 in Kingston Township to Frank and Elsie (Barton) Link. A 1932 graduate of Brown High School. Retired dairy farmer. In later years he bred, owned, trained and drove Standardbred Horses. Member St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, United States Trotting Assn., Delaware County Horseman Assn., Sunbury Masonic Lodge #400 and 32nd Degree Mason, and Order of Eastern Star Columbia Chapter #33. Also member of the Delaware County Pioneers. Survived by daughter, Donna (Elwood) Caudill of Sunbury; son, Richard (Mary) Link of Connersville, Ind.; grandchildren, Lizabeth (Mark) Jones of Lawrenceville, Ill., Kevin (Cami) Caudill of Meridian, Id. and Kathleen (Chris) Davis of Camdenton, Mo; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Cody and Sierra Caudill, Trent and Ben Jones and Adam Davies; sisters, Ann Daugherty of Chicago, Charlotte Pittman of Kilbourne; brothers, Kenneth of Sunbury, James of Kilbourne and William of Delaware; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Preceded by wife Edna (Krieger), sisters Pearl Baker, Lucille Welch and Zella Terry and brother Raymond. LUST Raymond E. Lust, age 90, of Westerville, Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at St. Ann's Hospital. Member of Church of the Master, American Legion Young Budd Post 171, President Ye Ole Buzzards Club. Retired from U.S. Postal Service and retired Master Sergeant from Ohio National Guard. Preceded in death by wife Ruth, parents Leonard and Eva Lust, 5 brothers Lauren, Carroll, Chester, Herbert and Gerald, 2 sisters Gladys and Harriet. MELICK Paula A. Melick, age 49, of Canal Winchester, died August 20, 2002 at Grant Medical Center. Born October 22, 1952 in Newark, Oh., daughter of Helen (Ashcraft) and the late Paul Banks. Survived by husband, Gary Melick of Canal Winchester; mother, Helen Banks of Hanover; son, Jason (Brittany) Melick of Columbus; daughter, Adrienne (Todd) Carter of Columbus; brother, Mark Banks of Hanover; sisters, Beverly Amos of Newark, Sally Lewis of Newark, Pamela Broseus of Utica and Terri Sidle of Newark; nieces and nephews; numerous aunts and uncles. MICKEY Kathryn A. Mickey, age 53, of Hopedale, Oh., formerly of Columbus, died Tuesday, August 20, 2002, Trinity West Emergency Room, Steubenville, as the result of an automobile accident. She was born May 20, 1949 in Gallipolis, Oh. She was a rural route mail carrier serving Route #4 for United States Post Office, Cadiz. MILLER John B. Miller, 81, passed away August 18, 2002. Mr. Miller was born in Akron. While serving in the U.S. Army during WW II and in Korea, John lived in various locations in the United States and Germany before retiring. He retired from the Army as a Sgt. Major after 21 years of service. John was a member of VFW (Reynoldsburg) and St. Andrews United Methodist Church, Columbus. Preceded in death by his parents Winfield Scott and Mary Elizabeth Miller, sister Bessie J. McElwain and brothers Paul and Lewis Miller. He is survived by his wife, Jessie Miller of Gahanna, Oh.; son, John S. (Jennifer) Miller of Columbus; daughters, Rebecca J. Miller of Lake Mary, Fla. and Sandra J. MININNI Carmen E. Mininni, age 90, Wednesday, August 21, 2002 at Kobacker House. Owner of Carmen's Tailor Shop, tailor at Caskey's Cleaner and retired from Walker's Men's Store where he was Head Tailor for 35 years. Member of Fly Town Italian Club and the Guild Athletic Club. Preceded in death by wife Mollie P., parents Raymond and Francesca Mininni, brothers Olindo Colaprete and Guido Mininni, sisters Josephine Petrasio and Lucy Lattanzio. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Nina and Dr. Jonathan Price of Dublin; grandchildren, Kelli (Daniel) O'Reilly, Kevin (Erica) Taylor, Julie (Kenneth) Schaefer and Zachary Price; great-grandchildren, Mackenna, Olivia, Sophia and Christopher; several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Gina Mininni. McGHEE Donna D. McGhee, age 60, of Powell, died Wednesday, August 21, 2002 at home. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving family, husband of 34 years, Dr. P. Timothy McGhee; children, Patricia (Steve) Rocca of Gahanna, Elizabeth (Mike) Belcher of Richmond, VA, Christopher (Jeanne) Byrley of Cleveland, Tami (Brian) Ewing of Boston, MA; 7 grandchildren; sister, Judy (John) Kovach of St. Petersburg, FL; and sister-in-law, Judi (Pete) Park of Colorado Springs, CO. She was a 1957 graduate of Bishop Watterson High School, and a 1960 graduate of Mt. Carmel School of Nursing. She was an R.N. at Mt. Carmel Medical Center for 6 years. After retiring she become a hospice nurse with Mt. Carmel and, subsequently, with Riverside Hospice until 1996. She was also a member of Christ Child Society. Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2002 at THE RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 West Olentangy Street (on Powell Road, * mile east of Sawmill Pkwy.), 792-1471. Chaplain Steve Rice will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. Friday and 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be in Donna's memory to Hospice at Riverside/Grant and Mt. Carmel Hospice.
