AMRINE Frank Baily Amrine Jr., 82, of 700 Fourth St., died Wednesday, August 21, 2002 at 8:29 a.m. at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born February 29, 1920 in Bridgeport, Oh. to Frank Baily and Gertrude Marie Muhleman Amrine Sr. He had resided in Marietta since November, 1945. He was Vice President, Treasurer and Director of the Airolite Co. from November, 1945 until his retirement in May, 1991. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II, serving from November 19, 1941 to January, 1946. He served in the Pacific Theatre on 2 campaigns, Leyte and Okinawa. He served as Captain and Gun Battery Commander and Battalion Intelligence Officer. After his discharge, he served in the U.S. Army Reserves as Major, A.U.S. until 1953. Frank was a 1936 graduate of Bridgeport, Oh. High School and a 1940 graduate, with Honors, from Marietta College. He was Student Body President from 1939 to 1940 and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Delta Upsilon Social Fraternity. He was past Director of The Citizens National Bank, Central Trust Co. and Bank One in Marietta. Past President, Marietta College Alumni Association. He was involved with Marietta Y.M.C.A., Kootaga Area Council, Boy Scouts; was a member of Rotary Club of Marietta, where he was past District Governor of Rotary International. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 64 and a life member of V.F.W. Post 5108. He had served on the Republican National Committee. He also was a member of Marietta College Athletic Founders Board, 1930's Representative, the M Team Hall of Fame Committee, Endowment Committee, Allohak Council, Boy Scouts of America, Senior Active member of Rotary Club and member of Marietta Country Club. Some of the honors and recognitions Frank received over the years were the Marietta College Student Rotarian in 1939, Marietta Jaycees "Young Man of the Year" in 1952, Silver Beaver Award, Boy Scouts of America in 1962, Paul Harris Fellow Award, Rotary International in 1978, Eisenhower Commission, Republican Party in 1997 and the Association of Ohio Commodores in 1990. Frank was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Marietta. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Murray Amrine, whom he married on July 18, 1942; 1 daughter, Mary Virginia Groves and her husband, William of Marietta; 7 sons, Robert Michael Amrine and his wife, Alice of Kingwood, Tex., Patrick Donald Amrine and his wife, Susie of Waterford, Timothy Norman Amrine and his wife, Lorie of Marietta, David Leigh Amrine of Cincinnati, Frank Murray Amrine and his wife, Jo Ellen of Louisville, Ky., John Frederick Amrine and his wife, Tonia of Marietta and James Meredith Amrine and his wife, Karen of Marietta; 36 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Frederick M. Amrine of Mountain Lakes, N.J. and William J. Amrine and his wife, Gloria of Joshua Tree, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother George Robert Amrine, 2 grandchildren Matthew and Christopher Coffman and a daughter-in-law Donna Amrine. Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Christ United Methodist Church, Marietta, with the Rev. Charles A. Martindell officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park with full military honors. Donations may be made to the Rotary Foundation in care of Rotary Club of Marietta, P.O. BOWSHER Eleanor L. Craig Bowsher, Ageless, Tuesday, August 20, 2002 in Naples, Fla. Preceded in death by her father and mother Curtis and Ella (Stewart) Laughlin, daughter Joellen Conrad, beloved husband John M. Bowsher and cousin Marian Maddux. She was graduated from Columbus School for Girls, attended Connecticut College for Women and received a B.Sc. degree from The Ohio State University. She was the fourth woman to receive a CPA degree in the State of Ohio and the first woman to be appointed to the Ohio State Board of Accountancy, where she served 5 years, the last year as President. She was a partner in the firm of Parker, Bolon & Craig, Alexander Grant & Company, Craig, Clark, Schaeffer and Hackett, Certified Public Accountants, and later practiced Public Accounting under the name of Eleanor L. Craig. She served as director of many corporations and trustee and chairman of a number of pension and profit sharing trusts and charitable foundations. She was a lecturer at tax seminars, including the New York University Tax Institute, and the author of articles on pension and profit sharing plans for corporate house organs. She was a founding member of Childhood League and served as president and in many other capacities, including a long period of service on their financial board. At the time of her death she was a member of Assisting Board III. She was also a member of Women's Board of Columbus Museum of Art and served as editor of their monthly publication, a member of Scioto Country Club, Columbus Club, Royal Poinciana Golf Club of Naples, Fla., Delta Delta Delta sorority, Beta Gamma Sigma Honorary Fraternity, and OSU President's Club. She was a Founding Member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Upper Arlington. She is survived by cousins, Betty Lou and Frank Gaines of Jacksonville, Fla., Winifred and William Kimble of Columbus, Oh., Jack and Joy Bauserman of Tallahassee, Fla., Edward and Cynthia Gaines of Jacksonville, Fla., Ward Gaines of Tacoma Park, Md., Elizabeth and Robert Crosby of Atlanta, Ga., Bradford and Debbie Maddux of Baton Rouge, La., Carter and Cynthia Maddux of Lafayette, Calif., Lee and Suzanne Kimble of Virginia Beach, VA; Grant Kimble of Columbus, Oh., Bethany and Scott Rupert of Atlanta, Ga.; and nieces and nephews, Barbara and Jay Shapiro of Hastings on Hudson, NY, Robert and Sally Bowsher of Vestal, NY, Nancy and Walter Madej of Columbus, Oh.; and many caring and wonderful friends. CHATTOS Esther L. Chattos, 78, of Centerburg, Friday, August 23, 2002. Born August 24, 1923 in Delaware County to the late Cecil and Mable (Ross) Bricker. Graduate of Sunbury High School Class of 1941. FAHRENHOLZ Everett "Bill" Fahrenholz, age 89, of West Alexandria, Oh., died suddenly Thursday, August 22, 2002 at St. Ann's Hospital in Columbus, Oh. He was born in Preble County on January 12, 1913 to John and Addie Fahrenholz. He graduated from West Alexandria High School in 1930 and Capital University in 1936 where he played football. He was a WW II Army Air Force Veteran, discharged May 8, 1946. He graduated from Franklin University Law School in 1949 and practiced law in Hilliard, Oh. for a short time. He was a teacher and coach at Amanda High School and Hilliard High School near Columbus, Oh. and started the football program at Hilliard. His teams won 3 Franklin County Championships in 9 years at Hilliard. After obtaining his law degree, he moved to West Alexandria, Oh. and practiced law in Eaton, Oh. and served as Preble County Prosecutor from 1952 until 1972. He received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from The Ohio State University in 1966. He was active in community and school programs throughout his life and was one of the early members of the Quarterback Club and the swimming pool board, which built the Twin Valley swimming pool. He was an avid fan of all the sports programs at Twin Valley South and loved to walk and played tennis well into his 70s. He continued to work as a lawyer in Eaton until his retirement this year. He was a prominent member of the Democratic Party, a member of the James E. Ryan Post #322 of the American Legion, King Hiram Lodge #88 F&AM and Salem Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jane; his daughter, Nancy Fahrenholz, Wickford, R.I.; his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Shirleann Fahrenholz, W. Alexandria, Oh.; grandchildren, Dr. John and Anna Fahrenholz, Nashville, Tenn., Mariann Fahrenholz, Columbus, Oh., Jacob Fahrenholz, Wickford, R.I.; great-grandchildren, Isabella and William Fahrenholz; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Fahrenholz, Las Vegas, Nev., Clara Miller, Columbus, Oh.; niece, Marilyn (Bob) Tuvell, Las Vegas, Nev.; nephew, Greg (Cindy) Miller, Columbus, Oh. KELLEY James Larkin Kelley, 81, of Columbus, passed away Friday, August 23, 2002 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was a member of Overbrook Presbyterian Church, The New England Masonic Lodge #4, the Scottish Rite and an Army Veteran of WW II. He was a 1941 graduate of Central High School and attended O.S.U. He retired after 25 years of service from Battelle. He is survived by loving wife of 57 years, Virginia; son, Steve Kelley, (Susan Robison); granddaughter, Erin Kelley (Gary Grzechowiak); sister, Rosemarie Hogan; sister-in-law, Pauline Scott; numerous nieces and nephews; many friends and neighbors. He is preceded in death by parents James and Nina Kelley, and brother John (Maria) Kelley. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, August 26, 2002 at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd. KOHR Paul T. (Ted) Kohr, 80, of Upper Arlington, died August 22, 2002 at First Community Village. He was retired as a partner in the commercial real estate firm Kohr, Royer, Griffith and was a resident of Upper Arlington since 1949. Ted was born and spent his early years in Grandview Heights, where he was a member of the Rooks High School fraternity. He then attended Washington and Lee University for 2 years, then served as a B-17 pilot in WW II until he was shot down and captured in Europe. After the war he graduated from The Ohio State University, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was a member of First Community Church for more than 60 years, where he chaired the Board of Deacons and served on numerous other committies and was a long time member of the Men's Wednesday Breakfast Group and Couples Circle #25. He was an Interlake sailor at Leatherlips Yacht Club. Ted belonged to a number of professional associations, including the Institute of Real Estate Management, served as president, the Columbus Apartment Association, serving as president, and the Building Owners and Managers Association. He served on the boards of directors of Friendship Village and the Big Brother Association, and was a trustee for the Upper Arlington Chamber of Commerce. Civic service included the Upper Arlington Tree Commission, volunteer at the Upper Arlington Library, and the Optimist Club. Ted was preceded in death by his parents Paul H. and Inez Phenegar Kohr, brother Thomas P. Kohr and nephew Paul T. Kohr II. He is survived by his wife, Martha; son, Tim (Lynne) Kohr and grandsons, Todd and Matt of Upper Arlington; daughter, Jennie (Pat) Nester and granddaughters, Kate and Sara and grandson, Jacob of Traverse City, Mich.; sisters-in-law, Alice Kohr of Upper Arlington and Sara Ann Flohr of Portsmouth, Oh. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 26 at 1 p.m. at First Community Church. Family will receive friends following the service. MICKLEY Chuck Mickley, age 61, of Columbus, died Thursday, August 22, 2002 in Cleveland. Chuck retired this July from Vet's Memorial. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Judy Mickley and by his children, grandchildren and many friends. MILLER Jack E. Miller, 62, of Columbus, passed away, Friday, August 23, 2002 after a long battle with Diabetes at his home. A member of the Darbydale Nazerene Church and a veteran Corporal for the U.S. Marine Corp. Preceded in death by infant son Mark Allen and parents Russell C. Miller and Beulah Hill. Survived by devoted wife of 43 years, Thelma R. (Conley) Miller; children, Phillip (Cathy) Miller, Jackie (Bob) Brinkley, Charity Weaver and Scott (April) Miller; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; brother, Russell of Johnstown; sisters, Avendell (Denny) of Calif. and Ruth (Jerry) of Sunbury; half-sister, Charlene of Washington; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. MITCHELL Marian B. Mitchell, 71, of Estero, Fla., died August 22, 2002 at Hope Hospice of Ft. Myers, Fla. Mrs. Mitchell had been a resident of Estero since 1988 coming from Dublin, Oh. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Wild Cat Run Country Club of Estero, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary June 6, 2002. Marian is survived by her husband, Lee A. Mitchell of Estero; 2 daughters, Linda Kirk of Columbus, Oh. and Denise (William) Anderson of Delaware, Oh.; brother, Kenneth Breckenridge of Grove City, Oh.; sister, Irma Furniss of Harrisburg, Oh.; 2 grandchildren.
