McGLONE Dorothy H. McGlone, age 94, of Hemlock, formerly of Columbus, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2002 at Sunbridge Care, New Lexington. Born October 24, 1907 in Columbus, the daughter of the late James and Minnie Bennett Sells. Mrs. McGlone was formerly employed by Franklin County Children Services and a member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union. Survived by son, Carl (Lou Ann) McGlone, Hemlock; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harold McGlone, sons Robert McGlone and Harold McGlone, brother Marvin Sells and grandson Shawn McGlone. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Saturday and anytime Sunday at the J.E. HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME, Walnut St., Shawnee, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday with the Rev. McINTOSH Polly H. McIntosh, age 98, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2002 at her residence. She retired from Omar's Bakery after more than 17 years of service and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Grove City. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert J. Survived by son, Bynum C. Gibson, Mechanicsburg; grandchildren, Susan J. Gray of Tn., Rosemary (Michael) Pogue of Mi., Robert J. Gibson (fiancé, Jackie Morrow) of Tn. and Stephen R. (Maegen) Gibson of Wi.; great-grandchildren, Crystal, Robert, Tasha, Kimberly, Shawn, Jesse, and Amanda; great-great-grandchildren, Hailiey and Jacquin. POTTER Carol A. Potter nee Landis, age 71, of Columbus, passed away August 22, 2002. Survived by husband of 45 years, Parker B.; children, Parker (Nancy Jo) Jr. of Contoocook, N.H., Suzie (Jim) Feehan and Tom (Pam), both of Columbus and Marianne (Andy) Gibson of Boston, Mass.; grandchildren, Jennifer, Alex, Kelsey and Andrew. ROBERTS Ralph Roberts, 75, of West Jefferson, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2002 in Grant Medical Center. He was born February 26, 1927 in Paintsville, Ky., the son of the late Carman and May (Duncan) Roberts. He retired from Allied Fabricating & Welding. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Alice (DeBord) Roberts; daughter, Cathy (Randall) Woodruff of Lancaster, Oh.; 2 sons, Ralph Jr. of Grove City and Steve of West Jefferson; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lena M. Roberts of West Jefferson; brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Friends may call in the RADER-McDONALD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 W. SHANNON Rita Shannon, age 76, of Columbus, died Friday August 23, 2002 at St. Ann's Hospital. Preceded in death by husband Eugene Shannon. Survived by her daughter, Charmaine Spradlin; son, Henry G. McCulley II; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Cote; sisters, Martha Cote and Carmen Petit, all of Pawtucket, RI. Member of the St. Augustine-Gabriel Catholic Church, where she was actively involved in many ways; she also was a school cook at East Linden and volunteered at the open shelters. WILSON Ancil Leroy "Curly" Wilson, 80, of Groveport, formerly of Reese and Minford, Oh., passed from this earthly life to eternal life with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 22, 2002. He left behind temporarily his wife Ina of 55 years; son, John (Beverly) Wilson of Columbus, Oh.; daughter, Joyce (Rick) Thompson of Canal Winchester, Oh.; grandchildren, Rick (Karen) Thompson Jr., Samantha (Jason) Gang, Heather Thompson (fiance, Mark Clagett), and Jason, Joshua and John Wilson; 5 great-grandchildren, Beth and Samuel Thompson, and Jordan, Cole and Riley Gang; 1 sister, Virginia McCarley of Grove City, Oh.; and many nieces and nephews. Ancil was preceded in death by his parents Rev. John Wilson and Elitha (Siler) Wilson, 3 brothers and 5 sisters. A faithful member of Reese Chapel Church of Christ in Christian Union for 41 years, where he was active in many offices through the years until the time of his stroke. He was serving as janitor of the church for the third time when he became ill. He also was a janitor for Groveport United Methodist Church and the Hamilton Township High School. He was a 1941 graduate of Minford High School, served in the U.S. Navy for 6 years and was a WW II Veteran. Ancil was a retired telegrapher from the Chessie System Railroad. Friends may call Sunday 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, Oh. and 1 hour prior to the service Monday 11 a.m.-12noon at Reese Chapel Church of Christ in Christian Union, 4747 Ridge St., Reese, Oh., where service wil take place at 12noon with Rev. Don Spurgeon and Pastor Jim Huffman officiating. Interment Union Grove cemetery, military graveside rites will eb conducted by the United States Navy. WOOTEN Roscoe Lee Wooten, age 86, passed away August 22, 2002, Sanctuary-Tuttle Crossing Nursing Home. Retired from The Ohio State University and the Church of God Holiness in Ashford, W.Va. as a minister. He attended the West Broad Church of the Nazarene. Roscoe is survived by wife of 66 years, Marie; children, Elizabeth (Paul) Woods, Lee (Jane) Wooten, Clinton (Barbara) Wooten and Roger (Shari) Wooten; 8 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and 3 sisters. Survived by wife, Shari McCune Zeigler; 3 sons, Eric (Janie Blackstone) Zeigler of Grove City, Erin (Tara) Zeigler and Shannon (Michelle) Zeigler, both of Pleasantville; 6 grandchildren, Benjamin, Rachel, Kelsey, Teghan, Conrad and Shylar Zeigler; 2 sisters, Glenna (Jim) Gibson of Ky. and Cathy (Bob) Blackstone of Logan; mother-in-law, Hattie McCune of Pleasantville; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and special friends, Julia Barr, Garry and Bonnie Keith. BANEY Ralph "Jim" Baney, 72, Westerville, Sunday, August 25, 2002. Born in Lancaster on January 2, 1930.
Retired from GE SMD in Worthington. Enjoyed his grandchildren and woodworking.

BARCKERT Karen Jean (Ryan) Barckert, 59, of Columbus, died Sunday, August 25, 2002, at the Convalarium at Indian Run in Dublin, Ohio from complications related to brain tumors. She was born in Lorain, OH, October 6, 1942, to Mary Jane (Campo) and Bert Simo. She graduated from Lorain H.S. in 1960. She earned her Associate in Arts degree from Lorain County Community College (1974), her Bachelor of Science in Education (1975) and two Master of Science in Education (1978, 1982) degrees from The University of Akron. She was an Elementary Reading Specialist in the Amherst School District for 9 years. In 1984, she took a Principal's position at Crestview Elementary in New Waterford, OH. In 1989, she came to Grandview Heights Edison Elementary as their Principal. She retired in 2001 after 12 years at Edison and 27 years in Education. A caring and supportive educator, she always had time for her students, teachers, and staff; hugs and encouragement were part of her daily routine. Her devotion to the children whose lives she touched, determination, and unshakable faith in God have truly been an inspiration. A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly (Barckert) and Brian Garber of Columbus, OH; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Tammy Barckert of Robbinsville, NC; grandchildren, Christopher, Marissa, and Matthew Garber, and Caroline, Savannah, and Kristina Barckert; brothers, David (and Vicki) Ryan of Elyria, OH and Jerry Ryan of Cleveland, OH; sister, Katherine Ryan of Lorain, OH; aunt, Carol Dudukovich of Lorain; and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2002, at Bethel United Methodist Church, where she was a member, 1220 Bethel Road, Columbus, OH, Pastor Tom Keene officiating.
