Betty Louise Long
(1922 - 2003)

Betty Louise Long, 81, of Bryan, died Sunday, May 25, 2003, at Community Hospitals of Williams County-Bryan.
Born May 6, 1922, at Newark, to Louise (Palmer) and Allen Lawrence, she married Carl F. Long, and he survives in Bryan.
She had worked as a restaurant officer as a civilian employee of the U.S. government, and later as a cashier and greeter at Kmart. A volunteer at Community Hospital of Williams County. She was a member of the Women's Welcome Club and Faith United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, James (and wife, Connie) Metcalf of Bryan and Mark (Carol) Metcalf of West Palm Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren, Michael, Steven, Tricia Metcalf and Autumn Poe; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, James Wesley Metcalf.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the Rice-Burr Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Susan Roads to officiate. Burial will be on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Fountain Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Faith United Methodist Church or to the donor's choice.

Ethel G. "Dolly" Brewer
(1928 - 2003)

MONTPELIER - Ethel G. "Dolly" Brewer, 75, of Montpelier, died Tuesday morning, May 27, 2003, at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home, Montpelier, following a lingering illness.
Born Feb. 17, 1928, at Montpelier, to Charity (Smalley) and Charles E. Oxender, she married Robert L. Brewer, and he preceded her in death in November 1974.
A lifelong Montpelier resident, she was a 1946 graduate of Montpelier High School and had retired in 1988 as a waitress with the Ohio Turnpike Restaurants.
Surviving is a son, Steven (and wife, Robin) Brewer of Montpelier.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the Wilson-Geesey Funeral Home, Montpelier.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Don Harris to officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Montpelier.
Memorials may be made to the Williams County Kidney Foundation.

Paul E. "Casey" Jones
(1917 - 2003)

HICKSVILLE - Paul E. "Casey" Jones, 85, of Hicksville, died Saturday, May 24, 2003, at Hickory Creek of Hicksville where he was a resident since 1998.
Born June 21, 1917, at Paulding County, to Grace (Rothgib) and Charlie Jones, he married Doris Keller on Jan. 21, 1945, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 18, 1990.
He had worked at Crook-Miller Company, Hicksville, and had retired from Par-tee Company in Spencerville, Ind.
Surviving are a brother, Ray (and wife, Becky)  Jones of Hicksville, and a sister, Mildred Hughes of Coldwater, Mich.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Frank and Robert Jones.
Visitation will be held today from 5-8 p.m. in the Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville.
A memorial service will follow at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the family.

M. Bernice Kralicek
(1909 - 2003)

RACINE, Wisc.- M. Bernice (Renpaul) Kralicek, 93, of Racine, died Sunday, May 18, 2003, at Franciscan Villa, South Milwaukee.
Born Aug. 3, 1909, in Racine, to Emma (Hoffman) and Louis B. Renpaul, she married John C. Kralicek Sr. on Aug. 9, 1928, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 1977.
A lifelong Racine resident, she was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church and was involved for many years with the Girl Scouts.
Survivors include her children, John (and wife, Jennie) Kralicek of Bryan, Ohio, Bernice Tuttle of Racine; four grandchildren, John (Paula) Kralicek III of Golden, Colo., Mrs. Mark (Susan) Cramer of Holgate, Ohio, Mrs. Steve (Dawn) Jacobson of Franksville and Brian Tuttle of Racine; two stepgrandchildren, Craig (Heather) Bair and Mrs. Ryan (Tricia) Finchum; five great-grandchildren, Mrs. Bill (Cindy) McCorkle, Zach and Brewer Cramer, Emily and Ryan Jacobson; sisters, Mrs. James (Violet) Yorgan of Racine, Jenny Andersen of Kalamazoo, Mich.; a brother, Gerald Renpaul of Racine; sisters-in-law, Scotty Renpaul and Gloria Kralicek; brother-in-law, Harold Petersen, all of Racine; nieces, nephews and many other relatives.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Eleanor; a sister, Virginia Johnson; brother, Bernard Renpaul; and son-in-law, Fred Tuttle.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. in the Maresh-Meredith and Acklam Funeral Home, 803 Main St., Racine, and Thursday at the St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave., Racine, from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in the church. Interment will be held at Graceland Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Lucy's Catholic Church or to the donor's favorite church.

Carson S. Stickney
(1920 - 2003)

Carson S. Stickney, 82, of rural Bryan, died Monday, May 26, 2003, at Community Hospitals of Williams County in Montpelier following a lingering illness.
Born July 4, 1920, at Northwest Township of Williams County, to Clara (Hideman) and Ross Stickney, he married Donna M. Young on March 18, 1961, at Angola, Ind. and she survives. A World War II Army Air Corps veteran, he was a commercial artist for the Aro Corporation in Bryan, retiring in 1978 with 25 years of service. He was the designer of the Aro Corporation logo at that time.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Kirk Stickney of Bryan and Kent (and wife, Heidi) Stickney of Cincinnati, and two grandchildren, Riley and Grady Stickney of Cincinnati. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leland Stickney, and two sisters, Martha Stickney and Margaret Greene.
Services will be private with burial in the Edon Cemetery. Service arrangements are by the Krill Funeral Home in Edgerton.

Katherine "Kitt" Widener
(1949 - 2003)

Katherine "Kitt" Widener, 53, of Defiance, died early Sunday, May 25, 2003, at the Harborside Healthcare Center of Northwest Ohio-Bryan.
Born Dec. 1, 1949, at Wauseon, she was the daughter of Laura (Pierce) and Kenneth Brown. A social worker for 5 County Drug and Alcohol, she was a 1996 graduate of Northwest State Community College, Archbold, and a 2001 graduate of Defiance College, Defiance. She was a member of the National Association of Social Workers, the ADAMhs Board, Alumni of Northwest State Community College, Phi Theta Kappa and the National Guild of Hypnotists.
Surviving is a son, David F. (and wife, Gwen) Widener of Valrico, Fla.; two daughters, Kara Swalley and Mrs. Jason (Kristina) Gehring, all of Bryan; five grandchildren, Steven Widener of Toledo, Damian Swalley, Angel Swalley and Devin Jasso, all of Bryan, and Audrey Widener of Valrico, Fla.; three brothers, Clifford "Skip" (MaryJane) Brown of Fayette, David (Melissa) Brown of Warren and Kenneth "Bud" (Geraldine) Brown of Delta.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Robert Brown; and three sisters, Donna Ballin, Patricia Altman and Barbara Smith.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home, Bryan.
Services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home with Deborah Campbell to officiate. Burial will follow at the Tedrow Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family c/o Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home.
