EIS Carrie S. Eis, age 78, Sunday, September 15, 2002 at Franklin Woods Convalescent Home after a courageous battle with cancer. Retired from D.C.S.C. Preceded in death by husbands Donald Charles Cray and Carl L. Eis, parents Albert and Deborah Stauffer, brother Frederick Stauffer and sister Ruth Parkins. Survived by daughter, Ruth Cray Bell; grandchildren, Lisa Stafford, Christopher Bell and Lori (Eric) Metcalf; 3 great-grandsons; 3 great-granddaughters; sister, Ida Tompkins; many nieces and nephews; good friends and neighbors. FARMER Robert A. Farmer, Jr., age 74, of Pataskala, Oh., passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at his residence. He was born in Newark to the late Robert A. Sr. and Helen Farmer. U.S. Veteran. He had retired from Kaiser Aluminum in Newark with over 30 years of service. Preceded in death by his wife Inez Farmer, daughter Patricia Taylor and brother Gerald F. Farmer. Survived by children, Robert and Terri Farmer of Reynoldsburg, David and Mary Farmer of Pataskala and Gloria and Claude Robinson of Columbus; 9 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley (Bill) Anderson, Jean (Bill) Kreider and Scheryl (Bob) White; sister-in-law, Bonnie Farmer; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends; his faithful companion, Ginger. FASO Creeta V. Faso, age 75, of Columbus, died Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at Columbus Health Care Center. Mrs. Faso was a member of Slater's Branch Freewill Baptist Church. Creeta is preceded in death by her husband Augustine Faso, Sr., parents Joe and Lonia Dotson and her daughter Rita Joe Simpson. She is survived by her children, Saundra Jean (Fred) Greene and Augustine (Michelle) Faso, Jr.; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 6 brothers and 3 sisters. FIGLESTAHLER Dwight E. Figlestahler, age 74, of Whitehall, passed away Monday, September 16, 2002, Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Born November 13, 1927. Retired from Kroger in 1990 with over 42 years of service. Veteran of WW II serving in the US Navy. Preceded in death by daughter Kelly Jo Durst (Figlestahler), parents John and Grace Figlestahler, mother-in-law Goldie Green, sister Garnet Schrader, brother Richard Figlestahler. He is survived by his loving wife, Jo-Anne of 54 years; sons, Michael (Marilyn) Figlestahler and Tracy Figlestahler; brother, Paul (Martha) Figlestahler of Reynoldsburg; sister-in-law, Betty Cosner of Columbus; many nieces, nephews and friends. FRALEY A funeral service for Leonard Phillip Fraley was held 1:30 p.m. on September 18, 2002 at the PORTER FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Rev. Dortha Ross and Rev. Ron Reynolds, Pastors of the Mt. Sterling First Church of the Nazarene, officiated. Special rememberances were given by uncle, Rev. David Hackney. During the service His Eye is on the Sparrow and Amazing Grace was sung by soloist, Betty Gray and accompanied on the organ by Connie Lindsey. Those serving as pallbearers with burial in Sunset cemetery were Brian White, Dwight Lewis, Tim Hogan, Gary and James Voelker, Kevin Steed, and Carl Roose. Leonard Fraley, 43, of Columbus died September 14, 2002 at his residence.

FRESE (HORNING) Mrs. Carlyn Horning Frese, age 50, of Dallas, Tex., passed away September 16, 2002 in Plano, Tex. She was born December 18, 1951 in Cincinnati, Oh. to Curtis and Janet (Curtin) Horning. She married Ray Frese on June 23, 1973 in Westerville, Oh. She received her BS Degree in Nursing from Duke University and her Masters Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Texas Women's University. Mrs. Frese was a dedicated community volunteer with Family Outreach, National Charity League, numerous Plano ISD committees, PTO's, and school booster organizations. She was an active member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church, and a former member of Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church, where she was also very active. She is survived by her husband, Ray Frese of Dallas, Tex.; son, Bradley Frese of Denver, Colo.; daughters, Laura Frese and Mandy Frese, both of Dallas, Tex.; mother, Janet Horning of Westerville, Oh.; brother, David Horning of Arlington, Oh.; sisters, Amy Marschall of Raleigh, N.C. and Liz Weiler of Lawrenceville, Ga.; as well as numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2002 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church with Dr. Robert Hasley officiating. There will be a memorial service at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2002 at the Little Turtle Country Club. Arrangements are under the direcion of TURRENTINE-JACKSON-MORROW FUNERAL DIRECTORS. GARDNER Barbara R. Gardner, age 57, died Sunday, September 15, 2002 from injuries received in an auto accident. Graduate of Danville High School in 1963, and Kent State University in 1967. Survived and loved deeply by her children, Susan of Columbus, OH and Brian of Howard, OH; grandson, Logan of Mt. Vernon, OH; father, Harold Smith of Mt. Vernon, OH; companion, Michael Callaghan of Howard, OH; brothers, Donald Smith of Mt. Vernon, OH and Charles Smith of Oscola, MI. Preceded in death by her mother Mary Smith and her sister Nancy Smith. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. at the O'SHAUGHNESSY FUNERAL HOME, 405 E. GRAHAM Eugene D. Graham, 72, died September 14, 2002 in Columbus, OH. Born in Akron, Oh. He was a graduate of North High School in Akron and a graduate of the University of Akron, where he served as president of his fraternity, Phi Delta Theta, and vice-president of the student council. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve. After 10 years in the automobile business, he entered into business as a Ford dealer in 1962, and established eight successful dealerships in Akron, Mentor, Dayton, Kent, Columbus, and Schenectady, NY. Gene was the owner and operator of Graham Ford, Columbus, Oh. Despite his many obligations in business and family life, he found time to commit an immense amount of time to community and professional service. He served nine years as member and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Akron University. In recognition of his lifelong commitment to the University, he was awarded an honorary doctoral degree. He served as the Ford National Dealer Council Chairman, and member of and President of the Board of Trustees of the Akron Automobile Association. He served as board member of the Catholic Service League, the Akron Better Business Bureau, the Phi Delta Theta Alumni Association, and the Akron Regional Developmental Board. He was preceded in death by his parents Rebecca J. and Lewis J. Graham, brothers James, Robert, and William Graham and his sister Gertrude. He was a beloved and steadfast husband to his wife of 46 years, Marie (Karg); and a loving parent to his daughters, Sue Seibert and Cindy (Jack) Freudeman; his son, Tim (Alexandra). He was the kind and loving grandfather of Brandon and Ryan Seibert, Kelly, Kate, and Allison Freudeman, and Theodore and Ian Graham. He leaves behind eight nieces, daughters of his late brothers, his brother-in-law, Rev. William Karg, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James F. and Joanne Karg. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at 12Noon at St. Sebastian Catholic Church. Interment in the Holy Cross cemetery. GREEN Clyde R. "Skip" Green, age 75, of Obetz, died Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at the Kobacker House. He retired from the Ohio State University Hospital where he worked as an electrician for 18 years, former employee of White-Westinghouse, member of Moose Lodge #11, school bus driver for Hamilton Township Schools, former caretaker of Walnut Hills cemetery. Skip also was a life member of the V.F.W. and American Legion, serving in the United States Navy during WW II and the Korean Conflict. Skip is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Rose Green; his daughter and son-in-law, Lois Ann and Jerroll Pope of San Antonio, Tex.; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Bert (Mardge) Green of South Bloomfield; sisters, Elizabeth (Pete) Coleman of Lancaster, Virginia (Emerson) Grant of Pleasantville, Lucy Mae (Frank) Plants of Canal Winchester; many nieces and nephews. HARDIE James A. Hardie, M.D., age 84, of Upper Arlington, Sunday, September 15, 2002 at Grant Hospital. Preceded in death by parents Robert and Lillie Hardie, brothers Cameron and Robert Hardie. Survived by wife of 27 years, Marva; children, Suzanne Hardie, Bruce (Laura) Hardie and Roberta Gydosh; step-son, Gerald Dixon; grandchildren, Paige and Carly Gydosh and Jillian Hardie; step-grandchildren, Amanda (Glen) Day, Amy Dixon and Matthew (Katie) Vanderboegh; nieces, Sheila (Robert) Snoke and Bonnie Lynch; nephew, Malcolm (Barbara) Hardie; and many other relatives and friends.
