PICKLESIMER Willis Glen Picklesimer, 77, of Galloway, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2002 at his home. He was born February 10, 1925 in Volga, KY, the son of the late Challie and Suna Picklesimer. Willis had attended Mechanicsburg High School, had worked for Midwestern Service & Sales and most recently had been employed by Ohio Grain Elevators. He was also a faithful member of Galloway Presbyterian Church. But above all, he was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Willis is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Juanita; children, Nancy Black, Alan Picklesimer and Beverly (Hobert) Adams; 4 grandchildren, including Shae and Tyler Picklesimer; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lowell (Dorothy), James (Jean) and Max (Marilyn) Picklesimer; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Calling hours 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the SCHOEDINGER NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, where the funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2002 with Rev. Larry Wickliff officiating. Interment to follow at Galloway cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Galloway Presb. PURTEE Evelyn M. Purtee, 80, Monday, September 16, 2002 served Jehovah God as one of His Witnesses for 36 years. Preceded in death by mother Mildred and father Philip Jakeway, daughter Teddy Petrella Merriman. Survived by husband of 66 years, Norman Edward Purtee; daughter, Sylvia Arthur; granddaughters, Tonya Carroll, and Rhonda Petrella Edwards; grandsons, Rick and Dana Petrella; great-grandson, Joey Petrella; sisters, Mary Denison, Betty Ryan, Thelma DeVuono, Shirley Scott; and numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends. REED Esther E. Reed, age 93, formerly of Gahanna, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2002 at Regency Manor Nursing Home. She was a life long member of Peace Lutheran Church and a member of The Altar Circle. She is preceded in death by husband James C. (Jimmy) Reed, Sr., sisters Mary Jones and Frances Heise. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, James and Nancy Reed of Columbus; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and George Guffey of Oklahoma City, OK and Carol and Mike Puchovich of Reynoldsburg; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Deitschle; nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 East Johnstown Road, Gahanna, where the Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, September 19, 2002. ROWE Troy E. Rowe, Sr. "Tex", age 77, of Columbus, died suddenly, Sunday, September 15, 2002. Mr. Rowe was a member the Masonic Lodge, V.F.W. and the American Legion. Troy had retired from Baltimore Gas & Electric. He is preceded in death by his mother, father and brother Doyl Rowe. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Barbara; children, Joy Rowe, Andrea Dicke and Troy E. SIFFORD Edna B. Sifford, 82, returned to Glory on Tuesday, September 17, 2002. Originally from Chattaroy, W.Va., she resided at The Inn at Lakeview, where she had numerous friends. Mrs. Sifford loved Elvis and dancing to the tunes of country music. She often delighted friends and family with her delicious cakes and preserves. She is preceded in death by parents Henry and Ida Bell Collins, husband Emmett, son Emmett Sifford Jr. and daughter Ida Bell Sifford. She will be sadly missed by sister, Thelma (Clyde) Maynard; brother, Jack (Bessie) Collins; daughters, Helen Ramey, Jacqueline Robertson, Sue (Louie) Verde, Kay (Allen) Groff; son, Roger Sifford; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. WEISHOFF Reinhold Ottokar Weishoff "Reggie", age 76, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2002. He was the owner of Weis-Hoff Porcelain Prosthetics for 40 years. Member of the Germania Club and the National Republican Foundation. Former instructor in the Dental School at O.S.U. Survived by his wife of 40 years, Judith; daughters, Lisa (Jim) Cloud and Heidi (Steve) Solace; 3 grandchildren, Emily and Sarah Cloud and Nicholas Solace; 3 brothers; 2 sisters; brother and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, the Bendinelli family and many other family and friends. ARPS Ruth Collicott Arps, formerly of New York City, died on July 29, 2002 at Seabury Retirement Community, Bloomfield, Conn. at age 95. Wife of the late Leslie H. Arps, a founding partner of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. She is survived by four nephews. Mrs. Arps was born in Evansville, Indiana and graduated from The Ohio State University in 1929. She was a past President of the Womens Division of the Legal Aid Society of New York, and an active fund raiser for the New York City YWCA. Mrs. Arps also established scholarships at Indiana State University in memory of her parents, Jacob and Lydia Gemmer Collicott and at The Ohio State University, College of Education, for graduates of Columbus, Ohio public schools and at Oberlin College in memory of her mother and her aunt, Esther Gemmer Wattles. Mrs. Arps will be remembered for the Village Bake Shop in Columbus, Oh. A memorial service will be held at Seabury Retirement Community at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 1, 2002.

BADGLEY Donald F. Badgley, age 79, died July 30, 2002 at Doctors Hospital West. Retired from City of Columbus Sanitation Department. Member El Paso Church of God. Preceded in death by parents, sister Bertha Emerson. Survived by son, Paul (Joanne) Badgley; ex-wife, Zenetta Badgley; sister, Bee Ours of Loraine; brother, Beryle of San Bernardino, Calif.; best friend, Howard Graham; nephews, Ronnie, Jonny and families; nieces, Betty, Florence and families; and a host of friends. BARNETT Dorothy Barnett, age 74, of Powell, died Monday, July 29, 2002 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Born February 9, 1928 in Cleveland to the late Julia and William Racin. Dorothy was a graduate of Cleveland John Hay High School, Class of 1946. She retired from Sears after 16 years of service. Dorothy is preceded in death by her daughter Barbara Ann Barnett. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jim Barnett; children, Stephen William (Ann) Barnett of Mechanicsburg, PA, Saundra Lee (Kenneth) Adams of Streetsboro, OH, Douglas Alan (Renee) Barnett of Temecula, CA; granddaughters, Julia Marie and Amanda Lee Adams. Dorothy was a member of All Saints Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6770 North High St., Worthington, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday August 2, 2002. Pastor Glenn M. BARNHARDT James W. Barnhardt, Jr., Ret. Lt. Col., U.S. Air Force, age 59, of Warsaw, N.C., passed away Monday, July 22, 2002 at Wilmington, N.C. Born May 19, 1943 to Eleanor Barnhardt and the late James W. Barnhardt Sr., Ret. Lt. Col., U.S. Air Force. Mr. Barnhardt had served as Duplin County Manager since May 1996. He received a Bachelor's degree from O.S.U. before entering the U.S. Air Force retiring as Lt. Col. after a 26 year career. He was an avid OSU Buckeye Fan. Following his military retirement, Mr. Barnhardt received his Master's degree from Old Dominion University of Virginia. Mr. Barnhardt was a member of the Clinton Church of Christ, N.C. He is survived by his wife, JoAnne W. Barnhardt of Warsaw, N.C.; 4 step-children; 6 step-grandchildren; mother, Eleanor Barnhardt of Hilliard, Oh.; brother, Tom Barnhardt of Westerville, Oh. Preceded in death by his father Lt. Col. James W. Barnhardt Sr., Ret., sisters Trudie, Kate, Whitney and Virginia Ann Barnhardt. BEHRER Philip Carl Behrer, age 71, went home to be with the Lord after a long courageous battle with kidney disease (F.G.S.). Philip graduated from Bexley High School, Class of "48"; attended The Ohio State University; graduated from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, Class of "51" and Franklin University. Philip served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Philip was a devoted Christian man who served for over 20 years as first elder at the Valleyview and Beacon of Hope Church of Christ in Christian Union. He also served faithfully for many years as a Sunday School Teacher. Philip retired as a Master Lab Technician in organic chemistry from Battelle Memorial Institute in 1992. He received recognition for a Patent as one of the inventors in Abrasion Resistant Plasma Coating and resulting articles in 1988. Philip also retired after 24 years part-time with Big Bear Stores. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl A. Behrer and Elva D. (Hayes) Behrer, daughter Colleen Susan Behrer. He is survived by his wife of 49 years and 9 months, R. Doris Behrer; daughter, Renee (Rev. Paul E.) Fultz of Dayton; son, Rev. Kevin P. (Lora) Behrer; grandchildren, Paul E. II, Nathanael, John-Philip Fultz, Michelle (David) Paul, Alisha, Stephanie and Stacie Behrer; great-granddaughters, Ariel and Kiara Paul; special friends, Rev. Bill and Kathleen Price, along with many other dear friends. He will be greatly missed by his family. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at O.R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 2990 Bethel Rd. BULLOFF Jack J. Bulloff, Ph.D., age 87, of Indianapolis, Ind., formerly of Columbus, Oh. and Albany, N.Y., died July 19, 2002 at St. Vincent Hospital. He graduated in 1939 from City College of New York, B.S. in Chemistry. 1953 graduate of Rensselaer Poly Technical Institute, Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry. He was a Junior Scientist at Los Alamos National Laboratory, worked on the Manhattan Project. Research Associate at Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus, Oh. 1956-1968 where he was involved in the development of Xerography (Photocopying) - Professor and Director of Science and Technology studies at State University of New York at Albany, 1968-1976. Chief Consulting Scientist for the New York State Legislature Commission on Science and Technology in Albany, N.Y., 1985-1992. Co-Author of 18 books on Physical Chemistry. Authored over 100 Journal articles. Originator of 29 patents in Physical Chemistry. 1992-until his death he was self employed as an Independant Consultant Dr. Jack J. Bulloff, FAAAS, FAIC. J. Bulloff, Consulting. U.S. Army Chemical Corp, 1942-1944, U.S. Army Medical Corp. in the European Theater, 1944-1946. Member American Chemical Society, A Fellow in the American Institute of Chemists. A Fellow in the American Association for the Advancement of Science and New York Academy of Sciences. (A Fellow is the highest level of membership in the organization). Preceded in death by wives Gertrude Scher Bulloff and Florence Gutin Chall Bulloff. Survived by daughter, Dorie Lee Bulloff; sons, Aaron Harley Bulloff and Steven Marc Bulloff; 4 grandchildren. Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2002 in Beth Moses cemetery, Pinelawn, Long Island, N.Y. CAMPBELL Rev. Deborah Lynn (Rogers) Campbell, 54, of DeGraff, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002 at 2:57 a.m. at her home. Born on October 28, 1947 in Montgomery Co., Oh., She was the daughter of Lee and Vanice "Van" Wenger Rogers of Trotwood. She married David H. Campbell on August 19, 1967 in Trotwood, Oh. and he survives. Preceded in death by grandson Nicholas Christian Sauer. Survivors also include a son and partner, David Todd Campbell and Colleen Carpenter of Carrboro, N.C.; 2 daughters, Deborah Tamar Campbell-Sauer and Chris Sauer and Dena Terese Campbell, all of Columbus, Oh.; 3 grandchildren, Zakiya Simone Campbell, Logan Lee and Andrew David Sauer; 2 brothers, Dean W. and Becky Rogers of Brookville, Oh., Douglas W. and Cheri Rogers of Pickerington, Oh.; 1 sister, Dian and John Travis of Centerville, Oh. She was a 1965 graduate of Trotwood-Madison High School, a 1980 Bachelor of Science graduate of Miami University, a 1987 Master of Arts graduate of United Theological Seminary. She was a candidate for Doctor of Ministry degree, Wesley Seminary, Washington, D.C. Pastored Huntsville United Methodist Church, Hopewell United Methodist Church and Rum Creek United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday School for 5 years at Maplewood United Methodist Church. She also served in the Ginghamsburg United Methodist Church and West Ohio Conference of United Methodist Church. She was also a homemaker. The family will receive friends at the REXER-RIGGIN-MADDEN FUNERAL HOME, DeGraff, Oh. on Friday, August 2, 2002 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The service will be held at the Huntsville United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 3rd at 11 a.m. with calling 1 hour before the service. The Rev. Bryan Meadows and Rev. Stan Ling will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Servant Leadership School, 1640 Columbia Rd. N.W., Washington, D.C. 20009 or to Tricare Hospice, 205 Palmer Ave., Bellefontaine, Oh. 43311. CARTER Berneda (Whetstone) Carter, age 96, died Monday, July 29, 2002 at Heartland of Centerville. She was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Jessie Whetstone, her husband Garfield Carter and her sons-in-law Wesley Vanover and Harry Crable. She was retired from Mead Corporation. Her daughters, Nancy Vanover of Centerville and Margie Crable of Columbus, Oh.; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren, survive her. She was a member of the Grace Methodist Church and celebrated her fifieth anniversary as a member of the OES Chapter 419 in Chillicothe, Oh. Her family wishes to thank the staff of Heritage and Heartland Hospice for their care of our mother and grandmother including their concern for her family. There will be a graveside service at the family plot in Greenlawn cemetery in Chillicothe, Oh., Saturday, August 3 at 11 a.m. Arrangements by the WESTBROCK FUNERAL HOME.
