BUCKINGHAM Roy C. Buckingham, Jr., 73, of Grove City, OH, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2002 at Mt. Carmel Medical Center. He was born September 12, 1928 in Marion, OH, the son of the late Roy C. and Grace Buckingham, Sr. Roy served in the Air Force, Japan Occupation Forces in Japan and Okinawa. He retired from J. T. Edwards Co. as Vice President of Engineering. Member of the Grove City United Methodist Church, past Scoutmaster, past Vice President of the Grove City Jaycees, past President of "Teens Unlimited" and past secretary of the Grove City Sertoma. Roy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Emma; daughter, Myla Jones; son, Gary (Michele) Buckingham; granddaughters, Amie Jones and Shelby Buckingham; and grandson, Cody Buckingham. Calling hours 12-2 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2002 at the SCHOEDINGER NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City. Graveside service 2:30 p.m. at Concord cemetery, Grove City with full military honors. CALLIHAN Stan "The Man" Callihan, 57, died Monday, August 19, 2002 in Cocoa Beach, Fla. He was born in Ashland, Ky. on January 24, 1945. Stan resided in Cocoa Beach and was employed by Sunbelt Systems Concepts, Inc. in Winter Park. Stan graduated from Paul G. Blazer High in 1963, received a Bachelor's degree from Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, Oh. in 1998 and a Master's in 2001 from Cal Coast. Stan is survived by his wife, Susan Tillman Callihan; 3 sons, Rick and Rob (Michelle) of Columbus, Oh., Ryan (Amanda) of Indialantic, Fla.; his parents, Clyde and Verna of South Shore, Ky.; a sister, Becky (Bruce) Williams of Katy, Tex.; 6 grandchildren; 12 nieces and nephews. Friends are welcome at BECKMAN-WILLIAMSON FUNERAL HOME in Cocoa Beach, Fla. on Thursday, August 22. CARTER Elder Creal Sinclair Carter, age 90, Friday, August 16, 2002 at the Grant Medical Center. He was born April 12, 1912 to Robert Tecumseh and Ida Pepper Carter in Hopkinsville, KY. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1945. He was the Pastor of the Holy Temple Church of God in Christ and also served as the District Superintendent of the Columbus District appointed by Bishop Shelton. In addition he was employed by North American Aviation and Barneby Chaney. Preceded in death by his brothers Walter, Eufala and William, son Robert Carter. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Lorine; daughter, Lorraine Carter of Peoria, IL.; sisters-in-law, Joseph ( Ethel) Cooper of N.Y., N.Y. and Robert Cooper of Columbus, OH.; granddaughter, Sherry Lorraine Allen; 3 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends; special nephews, Isaac Henderson and Raymond Alexander, Jr. Funeral 11 a.m. Thursday, August 22, 2002 at the chapel of C.D. WHITE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 1217 Mt. Vernon Ave. Rev. Robert Callahan, Officiant. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

COLLINS Hugh Kevin Collins, 52, of Lore City, Oh., passed away August 18, 2002, following a battle with nonhodgkins lymphoma. A respected member of the trucking industry for 25 years and an employee of Janco Ltd., Wayne, N.J. He was a true professional to all involved in theatrical over the road transportation business. Preceded in death by parents Dorothy M. Collins and Hugh G. Collins. Survived by brother, Curt; sister-in-law, Ann Collins; spouse, Dawn Bedford; former spouse, Marilyn; daughters, Pamela Collins, Jamie and Jennifer O'Rourke, Alicia Kinser, Jessica and Jennifer Price; nephews, Christopher, Bryan and Matthew Collins; 4 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 23, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 233 S. State St., Westerville, Oh. with a reception following. The reception location will be announced at the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to nonhodgkins lymphoma research at the Arthur G. CUNNINGHAM Sharon A. Cunningham, age 44, of Columbus, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2002 as the result of an automobile accident. She was an associate of Meijer. Survived by her sons, Jeffrey, Jordan and Charles Cunningham; brother, James J. Cunningham; sisters, Sheryl Strobak, Rebecca Lawler and Karen Cunningham; nieces, Nichole Lawler, Jenny and Barb Strobak; nephews, Jeremy Lawler and Ron Strobak. GRAY Bessie McIe Gray, age 87, of Columbus, died Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at Mount Carmel Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born February 28, 1915 in Salem, WV the daughter of Lihue and Martha McIe. She graduated from Salem College, Salem, WV, Class of 1939, and worked as an elementary school teacher until her retirement in 1970. She was a longtime member of Mountview Baptist Church and recently joined Big Darby Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Gray, in 1997; two infant children, two sisters and three brothers. Bessie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Randolph Wiseman of Plain City, OH; grandson, Michael Wiseman of St. Paul, MN; and two-week old great-granddaughter, Samantha Renee Wiseman. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, where the funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2002. Rev. George Miller and Rev. Carl Brown will officiate. Interment will follow at Wesley Chapel cemetery, Hilliard, OH. GREENFIELD Neal William Greenfield, age 80, died Sunday, August 18, 2002 of complications from a brief illness. He is survived by Barbara Corson Greenfield, his wife, whom he loved so much even years before they were married 57 years ago. Also survived by son, Neal William Greenfield Jr. (Nikki) of Northville, Mich.; daughters, Barbara Kay Greenfield-hartung of Columbus and Nancy Margaret Brannon of Huntington, W.Va.; grandchildren, Cory Alexander Greenfield of Albuquerque, N.M., Brian Edward Greenfield of Newport Beach, Calif., Amanda Briar Greenhart and Nancy Lynn Hartung Smyers (David) of Columbus; and missed by a multitude of loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Neal Edward and Callie Pearl Teeter Greenfield, sisters Margaret Bell and Juanita Lucille Bell, brother Edward Teeter Greenfield. Neal was above all a self-sacrificing Christian civic servant. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, a tireless helper who contributed mightily to many institutions. Among his many contributions were principal of several elementary schools in Columbus, Lieutenant Colonel and battalion commander of the 137th Signal Battalion in the Ohio National Guard - retired, veteran of WW II serving in France in the 48th Signal Heavy Construction Battalion, President of the West Ohio United Methodist Men, candidate for 32nd Degree in Tri-village Masonic Lodge, active member of Ohio Elementary Principals Association, Board member of the Franklin County Retired Teachers Association, active in Ohio PTA, Board of Elections Precinct Judge, Past President of South Columbus Optimist Club, Graduate with Master of Education at OSU, member of Pershing Rifles and active member of Maize Manor United Methodist Church. Friends may call Wednesday, August 21 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the WEIR-AREND FUNERAL HOME, 4221 N. High St. (3 blocks S. of Henderson Rd.). HALL Fred H. Hall, D.D.S., age 81, of Upper Arlington, passed away Monday, August 19, 2002 at his home. He retired as a private practice dentist after 39 years in practice. He was born March 22, 1921 in Columbus, Oh., the son of Dr. Fred E. and Xenna (Hamner) Hall. He was preceded in death by his first wife Josephine Sharp Hall, 1965, second wife Lillian Huddy Hall, 2001, brother Dr. William L. Hall, 1997 and grandson Rob Mohney. He is survived by his daughters, Jacklyn (Mark) Zapert, Columbus, Linda Hall, Charlotte, NC and Nancy (Frank) Eilberg, Rocky River, OH; son, Steven (Cindy) Hall, Upper Arlington; grandchildren, David Mohney, Susan Davis, Eric, Andrew and Douglas Eilberg, Maggie and Patrick Hall; 4 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Fred was a graduate of The Ohio State University and College of Dentistry at The Ohio State University in 1950, where he was a member of Psi Omega fraternity. He was a member of Northwest United Methodist Church; Community Lodge #684 F&AM; Tri Village Shrine Club; Tri Village Lions Club; Columbus Maennerchor and many national, state and local dental associations. HENN Patricia Ann Henn, age 72, of Columbus, died Monday, August 19, 2002 at her home. Survived by daughters, Bonnie (Jim) Mannering and Rebecca Ann Johnston-Garvin; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; brother, William Henry (Cleo) Garvin and sister, Jane (Bruce) Goldflies. She was a public health nurse in Middletown from 1957-59, and worked at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford from 1960-1993, where she intitiated the candystriper program. HIGGINS Donald P. Higgins, age 60, Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at the residence. Groundskeeper for The Ohio State University. Member CWA Local Union 4501. Survived by daughter, Paula (Raymond) Carter of Columbus; son, Jim Higgins of Delaware, Oh.; grandsons, Raymond Jr. and Randol Carter; brother, James Higgins of Akron, Oh.; several cousins and dear friends; special friends, Sam Crisco and Tammie "Sweetie" Post; cats, Spot and Baby Kitty. HOCKMAN Clayton Hockman, age 91, died Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at The Forum at Knightsbridge. He was a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University with a Major in Physical Education. He taught mathematics and physics and coached at both Corning and Thornville prior to being employed by MacMillan Publishing Company in sales. He was a Salesman for 20 years and Regional Sales Manager for 17 years. He served the Order of Kentucky Colonel, and was a 32-degree Mason. His hobbies were officiating basketball and football in both high school and college. He was active in farming in Pickaway County. He served as National President of the Professional Bookmen of America. He was very active in the Bexley United Methodist Church and also served on commissions of the West Ohio Methodist Conference. He married Louise Milgate Hockman on July 21, 1935, and they celebrated their sixty-sixth wedding anniversary last year on July 21. Preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Blanche Hockman, wife Louise "Peg" Hockman and sister Jeannette Chilcote. Survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Mary Ann of Aurora, Oh., Jerry and Sharon of Springfield, Oh.; grandchildren, Diane, David, Traci, Kerry and Erin; 2 great-grandchildren; and brother, Ottie Hockman. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the SCHOEDINGER MIDTOWN CHAPEL, 229 E. State St. Funeral service 11 a.m. Friday at Bexley United Methodist Church, 2657 E. Broad St. Interment Green Summit cemetery in Adelphi, Oh. Contributions may be made to the Bexley United Methodist Church in his memory.

HOLDREN Charles L. "Buzz" Holdren, 76, of Columbus, died Monday, August 19, 2002 at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus. Service will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the ROBERTS FUNERAL HOME-SHERWOOD CHAPEL with the Chaplain Paul Fink officiating. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. He was born April 5, 1926 in Union Furnace, Oh. to John and Gladys (Hall) Holdren. He married Nellie Shipman on March 30, 1967. She survives. He was a member of the Pentecostal church and retired from Roco Paper Co. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons, Donald and Clifford Holdren; step-children, Irma and Charles Smith, Norma and Tommy Brown, and Barbara Smith, all of Columbus; sisters, Dorothy (Robert) Jones of Marshallville, Alice P. Kelper and Sue Scott of Orrville and Mary Jones; brothers, Dale (Marilyn) Holdren, Jim (Helen) Holdren, all of Logan, Oh., Joe of Columbus and Bob, Willard and David. A brother John Holdren died previously.
