TRIGUBA The remarkable spirit of Marvin Triguba took flight from his body on September 1, 2002, leaving behind a world made more beautiful and special by his presence. He was born November 14, 1930 in Chicago, Ill., but moved to New York City as an infant. He lived there until his marriage in 1959, to Anne FitzRandolph, and they made Ohio their home from that time to the present. Marvin was a gifted artist, even in childhood. He began formal studies of art at the age of seven continuing through the High School of Art and Design, The New York School of Advertising Design, and Alfred University, where he earned a degree in Fine Art. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force, where he worked as a graphic artist. Stationed in France, he took up fencing, and became an international fencing champion. Upon graduation from Alfred University, he was employed as a graphic designer by the Taylor, Smith and Taylor Co. of Chester, W. Va. After 18 years in East Liverpool, Oh., the company was purchased by Anchor Hocking, and the Triguba family moved to Lancaster, Oh. His gifts for portraiture were extraordinary, earning him local, regional and national recognition. His subjects included corporate heads, as well as private individuals and even the country music star, Minnie Pearl. His work and technique was featured in five books on colored pencil, and he taught art in his private studio for many years. He was a friend and a teacher, who shared his skills and knowledge with all he met. He was a husband of 43 years to Anne, whom he met when they were both art students at Alfred University. In their life together, he made it possible for her to realize all her dreams. He was her hero in every way. He was father to Teri Sue (Brad) Williams of Ft. Lauderdale, Mark (Cindy) Triguba of Westerville, and Greg (Karen) Triguba of Denver, Colo. His love for his family was all-consuming and his pride in them was a great happiness. He was grandfather to Taylor Anne, Lucas Chandler and Brice Allen Williams, of Ft. Lauderdale, and Tatiana Christine and Katarina Anne Triguba of Westerville. They brought a special joy to his life. He was brother to Andrea (Doug) Braasch/Triguba of Calais, Vt. He was predeceased by his parents and an older sister. Through his long history of serious heart disease, it was his support system at Grant Hospital that enabled him to live, and maintain a good quality of life. The amazing knowledge and skills of doctors and nurses there kept him alive against all odds on many occasions. They called him a miracle man; but they made the miracles happen. Their compassionate and loving care gave comfort and hope to Marvin and his family, whose love and everlasting gratitude goes out to Dr. Scott Phillips, Dr. Bruce Fleishman, Dr. Seth Rials, and the staff of the Heart Failure Clinic, Jeanie, Lisa, Barb, Kelly, Erin, Gayle and Sharon. It is not possible to name all those who have cared for him and his family, but that great host of friends include the entire staff of Grant's 6th Floor, the staff at Tri-County Family Physicians, and even the Valet Service at Grant, whose thoughtfulness and kindness eased his family's stress during difficult times. Most recently, he and Anne were the recipients of the tender loving care of the staff and volunteers of the Hospice of Fairfield County. Their competent and compassionate care gave much comfort to the family, and enabled them to come to his death with dignity and acceptance. The family suggests those who wish to remember him with memorial gifts do so with Hospice of Fairfield County. Marvin's legacy to this world is one of beauty, gentle grace, remarkable wit, and uncompromising love. It was his wish that there be no religious services or memorials, but the family will observe a private celebration. Cremation has already taken place; and burial will be at sea at a later time. Friends may call on the family at the residence on Thursday, September 5, 2002 from 2 - 7 p.m. For more information, call (740) 653-5687. He is now free to soar into the heart and soul of the universe he loved so much. Those who loved him will keep watch and rejoice to see him dancing among the stars.
