WARREN Robert S. Warren, 50, of Columbus, passed away Sept. 9, 2002 at Grant Hospital. Born April 9, 1952 in Long Island, N.Y. to the late Nathan J. and Barbara Stewart Warren. He was a war veteran. Preceded in death by wife Marilyn. Survived by daughter, Laurie (Jamie) Parks, Ashville; brother, Ned J. Warren, Phoenix, Ariz.; and sister, June Marek, Montana; grandchildren, Michael, Cortnie and Tim. Friends may call Tuesday, September 17 from 6-8 p.m. at the OLIVER FUNERAL HOME, Ashville. ZIGMUND Jean "GiGi" Zigmund, age 78, of Westerville and formerly of Youngstown, Sunday, September 15, 2002 at the Village at Westerville. Born December 29, 1923 in Youngstown, Oh. Lifetime member of Moose Lodge, Youngstown. She worked many years as the "Dough Maker" at Carsonie's Restaurant. Preceded in death by husband Paul L., parents Joseph and Maria Ranno, brother Al Ranno. Survived by son, Frank S. Carsonie of New Albany; daughter, Janice Tiscone of Columbus; grandchildren, Frank W. (Jill) Carsonie, Christy (David) Zadnick, Lisa (Tim) Weisenstein, Mike (Lenea) Candelmo and Cindy Tiscone; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Angie Speziale of Youngstown; brothers, Sam Ranno of Youngstown and Joe Ranno of Summerfield, Fla. ABRAM Duane Griffith "Dewey" Abram, age 75, passed away peacefully at home with his family, Sunday, September 22, 2002. He was born May 12, 1927 in Columbus, Ohio to the late David Griffith and Caroline Terbrueggen Abram. Dewey was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, friend and an inspiration to all he knew. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betty Abram; his daughter, Kimberly Ann Trail and her family, husband Steven, son Andrew and daughter Samantha of Granger, IN; son, Kevin Duane Abram and his family, wife Jill and son Aidan of Boulder, CO. Dewey was a graduate of West High School class of 1945, where he proudly held the office of class president. He served our country in the United States Navy stationed in Yokosuka, Japan. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, then attended the Central Academy of Commercial Art in Cincinnati and taught at the Columbus College of Art and Design. Upon completing his formal education, Dewey spent 11 years in various marketing and advertising roles with key Columbus area businesses before he joined Kight Advertising. After 20 rewarding years at Kight Cowman Abram Advertising as creative director, then vice president and finally managing partner, he created his own consulting business-Dewey Abram, period - where he worked with a few select and cherished clients from the company's inception until his final weeks. During the 52 years of dedication to his career he received well over 300 creative awards including the Columbus Advertising Federation Silver Medal Award for Advertising Man of the Year as well as the coveted CLIO award humbly accepted in New York City. He enjoyed being a member at Leatherlips Yacht Club, Columbus Athletic Club and Brookside Country Club. Dewey was an avid bicyclist (his custom Tour Easy recumbent being his bike of choice). He also had a love for sunrises and was able to share this passion with many by co-founding the Juno Beach Sunrisers with a membership of over 80 devotees. Dewey enjoyed an 'utterly fantastic' life and shared his enthusiasm with everyone he met with his familiar greeting "Hey, it's a great life...isn't it Friends may call Tuesday 6-9 p.m., at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. BENNER Thomas Howard Benner, age 58, of Columbus. September 22, 2002 at The James Cancer Hospital. Born July 30, 1944 in Fort Wayne, Ind. Graduate of Chillicothe High School and The Ohio State University College of Engineering. Air Force veteran with service in Vietnam. Sergeant and language specialist (Mandarin Chinese) with the 6592nd Support Group. Employed as a civil engineer with R.D. Zande & Associates. BERLO Wilbert John "Bill" Berlo, 94, of Columbus, died late Saturday evening, September 21, 2002 at Riverside Hospital, after an extended illness. Mr. Berlo was born May 1, 1908 in Mansfield and was a Mansfield area resident most of his life. He retired in 1973 as Controller for Hartman Electric Manufacturing after serving as Division Manager of Accounting for the Westinghouse Corporation. A graduate of Mansfield High School, Class of 1926, a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and was a member of Masonic Lodge #35, Scottish Rite, Valley of Columbus 32nd Degree, and Order of the Eastern Star. He is survived by a son, Richard "Dick" Berlo, of North Royalton, Ohio; three daughters and a son-in-law, Shirley and Jerry Pollock of Findlay, Ohio, Donna Berlo and Joyce Berlo, both of Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren and their spouses, Marilyn and Jim Vutech of Delaware, Ohio, Diane and Mark Brown of Oxford, Ohio, Catherine Berlo of Broadview Heights, Ohio, and Cynthia and Craig Czepczynski, of North Royalton, Ohio; eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Pearl J. (Rieder) Berlo, second wife, Mary (Hachten) Berlo and his parents Jacob and Catherine S. (Hans) Berlo. BRATCHER Lucille Bratcher, age 78, of Johnstown, on Sunday September 22, 2002 at Mt. Carmel Medical Center. Born in Gratiot, OH to Floyd and Elda Snider. CARONIS John Peter Caronis, age 64, of Worthington, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 21, 2002 following a thirty-three year battle with Parkinson's Disease. He is survived by his children, Christi Caronis-Pomeroy (Keith) and Dawn Caronis-John (Jason); precious grandchildren, Cayden Pomeroy and Sydney John; former wife, Marita; brother, George Caronis; sister, Angelina Karayianis (Dino); many nieces and nephews. John was a 1956 graduate of North High School and a 1961 graduate of Capital University. He was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church. John retired after 20 years of service to the public school system. He taught 6 years at North High School where he served as football coach and track coach. John taught history at Grandview High School and was Assistant Principal and Athletic Director. He was a wonderful and caring father to his children. He adored and laughed with his grandchildren. He had special relationships with everyone he came into contact with. He will be greatly missed. Funeral service and a celebration of his life will be held Tuesday 10 a.m. at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL 6699 N. COUGHLIN Clara M. Coughlin (nee Amicon), age 98, Sunday, September 22, 2002, at the Inn at Lakeview. A longtime resident of Seton Square North, she was a private duty nurse for Dr. Pritchett and Dr. Williard, also serving as a volunteer for many years at Mt. Carmel Medical Center where she was a lifetime member of the Mt. Carmel Auxiliary. She is preceded in death by her husband Henry W., parents John and Teresa Amicon, brothers John, Tony, and Lawrence, sisters Alvina, Mildred, and Catherine, son-in-law Ted Wallace. She is survived by daughter, Mary Ann Wallace; sons, Henry "Hank" and Albert "Al" (Lois); 11 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sisters, Stella Pardi, Lenore Kennedy, and Sr. Ann Teresa Amicon, S.N.D. FISHER Ruth H. Fisher, age 100, of Columbus, passed away, Saturday September 21, 2002 at Eastland Care Center. Member of the Wilson Avenue Church of the Nazarene. Survived by grandchildren, Linda (Bill) Werner, Jeff (Diane) Bell, Ronald (Linda) Bell, Randy (Debbie) Bell, Tom Craycraft, Tim (Evie) Craycraft, Doug (Kitty) Armbrust, and Gary Armbrust; 14 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter; son-in-law; Ronald Bell; daughter-in-law Bobbie Armbrust. HECHESKY Eugene "Gene" T. Hechesky, age 72, passed away September 22, 2002 at Grant Hospital. He was nationally known for his skills as a piano technician. A lover of classical music. Gene is survived by his wife of 53 years, Virginia; daughters, Susan (Edward) Ryan of Pickerington, Kay (Robert) Cirino of Westerville, Carol (Steve Moore) Hechesky of Ashville; son, Thomas (Lennie) Hechesky of Columbus; grandchildren, Ed Ryan, Matt Ryan, Erin (Brian) Neubauer, Leigh Ann Hechesky, Lindsey, Kristy, and Todd Moore, Danny Cirino; brother, Harry (Doris) Hechesky; sister, JoAnne Attinger; nieces and nephews. JOHNSON Leslie V. Johnson, age 87, died Friday, September 20, 2002 at Heartland of Marysville. Born October 13, 1914 in Ashtabula, Ohio. Retired from Norfolk & Western Railroad. Preceded in death by parents Elmer and Bernice (Farr) Johnson, wife Catherine (Green) Johnson in 1989, daughter Carol Johnson, brother Harold Johnson, and special friends Valetta Blackstone and Juanita Haybron. Survived by children, Patricia (Domnic) Garbo of Loraine, Timothy (Charlotte) Johnson of Richmond, Virginia,and Thomas (Kathleen) Johnson of Plain City; nine grandchildren; sister, Geraldine Wilkes of Huron. KLINE Cheryl Lynn Denton Kline, 53, of Lakeview, Oh., died September 20, 2002 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Born August 1, 1949 in Bloomington, In. She was a graduate of Westerville South High School (1967) and The Ohio State University (1971). Former instructor at Hocking Technical College from 1975-77, and retired agent from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification from 1977-1985. Former member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal and St Elizabeth Catholic Churches. She loved to play bingo and cards. Preceded in death by grandparents Richard Denton, Edith Denton, Robert Criswell and Frances Criswell. She is survived by her husband, Charles Ted Kline; parents, George F. and Sarah L. Denton; sons, Michael (Shirley) Kline, Frank (Patte) Kline; daughters, Lisa (Jeff) Bryan, Susan (Vince) Mantle, Kirsten (John) Gibbons; brothers, George F. Denton, Jr., Jay R. (Lisa) Denton, Brian L. (Nancy) Denton, Scott Denton; sisters, Joann (Jeff) Gaylor, Linda Denton, Betty Lou (Danny) Lynch; brother-in-law, Richard Kline; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 7 nephews; 5 nieces and one grandniece.
