WELCH Lottie Madel Welch, 77, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 19, 2002 from the Beverly Health & Rehab Center. She was a former member of Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Church of Youngstown, OH until relocating to Columbus where she united with the Church Of Christ of the Apostolic Faith where her son is Pastor. Her love for Christ was exhibited in her service as she served with the Senior Citizens Auxiliary, and various other organizations. Mrs. Welch is preceded in death by her parents Maple and Matthew Sims, husband James Wesley Welch, son Charles Lundy, sisters Ellen Moore and Benita White, brothers Norman and Matthew Sims, Jr. Left to cherish her memory are sons, Dr. Julius P. (Charlie Kay) Lundy of San Antonio, TX, Dr. Eugene (Elaine) Lundy of Westerville, OH and Norman W. Lundy of Youngstown, OH; daughters, Marie L. Lundy of Campbell, OH, Sandra E. (MC) Wayman of Swansea, IL, Brenda C. Johnson of Uniontown, OH and Vera E. Welch of Reynoldsburg, OH; sisters, Dorothy (McCauley) Halliburton of Ripley, TN, Sarah Lavender and Lucille (Almond) Truitt, both of Detroit, MI; 33 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; godchildren, Samuel and Elaine Hinkle, both of Heath, OH, Leroy Franklin, Liberty, OH, Malcolm Tanksley and Jessica Gamble, both of Columbus, OH, Willie McKinney and Rochelle McKinney, and Michelle Franklin, all of Youngstown, OH and Yvonne Westerfield of Patasakla, OH. Celebration Service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2002, Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Presiding Bishop Norman L. Wagner of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Officiating. WOLF Julian Wolf, 68, of Bucyrus, died Sunday at home. Owner and operator of Julie's Bar and Restaurant in Bucyrus for several years. Survived by wife, Julie; six children; seven grandchilden; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother; one sister. Funeral service will be held Wednesday 11 a.m. at the MUNZ-PIRNSTILL FUNERAL HOME, 215 N. Walnut St., Bucyrus and friends may call on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorials may be made to Crawford County Hospice through the Funeral Home.

WOLFEL Harold Weldon Wolfel, age 72, of Columbus was called home to be with the Lord September 20, 2002. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Born September 6, 1930. Preceded in death by his parents Walter John and Bertha Elizabeth. Retired truck driver for Steward and Silver and Fireproof Block of Columbus. Survived by his wife of 48 years, Geneva; sons, Harold (Betty) of Columbus, Gerald (Kathy) of Pickerington, Thomas (Kimberly) of Columbus and Michael (Carla) of Commercial Point; and two daughters, Beverly, and Diana (Teddy) of Gahanna; fifteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral service 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave with Pastor Jim Webb officiating. Burial Obetz cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 23, 2002 at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc. in his memory. ABRAM Duane Griffith "Dewey" Abram, age 75, passed away peacefully at home with his family, Sunday, September 22, 2002. He was born May 12, 1927 in Columbus, Ohio to the late David Griffith and Caroline Terbrueggen Abram. Dewey was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, friend and an inspiration to all he knew. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betty Abram; his daughter, Kimberly Ann Trail and her family, husband Steven, son Andrew and daughter Samantha of Granger, IN; son, Kevin Duane Abram and his family, wife Jill and son Aidan of Boulder, CO. Dewey was a graduate of West High School class of 1945, where he proudly held the office of class president. He served our country in the United States Navy stationed in Yokosuka, Japan. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, then attended the Central Academy of Commercial Art in Cincinnati and taught at the Columbus College of Art and Design. Upon completing his formal education, Dewey spent 11 years in various marketing and advertising roles with key Columbus area businesses before he joined Kight Advertising. After 20 rewarding years at Kight Cowman Abram Advertising as creative director, then vice president and finally managing partner, he created his own consulting business-Dewey Abram, period - where he worked with a few select and cherished clients from the company's inception until his final weeks. During the 52 years of dedication to his career he received well over 300 creative awards including the Columbus Advertising Federation Silver Medal Award for Advertising Man of the Year as well as the coveted CLIO award humbly accepted in New York City. He enjoyed being a member at Leatherlips Yacht Club, Columbus Athletic Club and Brookside Country Club. Dewey was an avid bicyclist (his custom Tour Easy recumbent being his bike of choice). He also had a love for sunrises and was able to share this passion with many by co-founding the Juno Beach Sunrisers with a membership of over 80 devotees. Dewey enjoyed an 'utterly fantastic' life and shared his enthusiasm with everyone he met with his familiar greeting "Hey, it's a great life...isn't it Friends may call Tuesday 6-9 p.m., at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. ALBRECHT Veda M. Albrecht, 72, September 22, 2002 at University Hospital. Retired employee of University Hospital. Longtime member of First Baptist Church and attended Big Darby Baptist Church. BANBURY Emily Jean (Wilson) Walburn Banbury, age 68, of Jackson, Oh., died Sunday, September 22, 2002 at the Holzer Medical Center, Jackson. Born March 4, 1934 in Jackson, Oh. to the late Charles E. and Lucile (Scurlock) Wilson. She was a Homemaker and a member of the Grace United Methodist Church of Jackson. Survived by husband, Jack Banbury; 2 sons, Richard (Christine) Walburn of Galloway, Oh. and Joe (Teri) Walburn of Columbus, Oh.; daughter, Roxane Shewsbury of Columbus, Oh.; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; also surviving 4 sisters, Kathleen Woollet of Coalton, Oh., Ann Clark of Jackson, Oh., Dora Wilson of Byron, Mich. and Jane Wyant of Springfield, Oh. Preceded in death by parents and 3 brothers Floyd Wilson, Charles "Eddie" Wilson and David Wilson, infant son Jerry Lee Walburn and grandson Carl Walburn. BENNER Thomas Howard Benner, age 58, of Columbus. September 22, 2002 at The James Cancer Hospital. Born July 30, 1944 in Fort Wayne, Ind. Graduate of Chillicothe High School and The Ohio State University College of Engineering. Air Force veteran, 1964-1968, with service in Vietnam. Sergeant and language specialist (Mandarin Chinese) with the 6592nd Support Group. Employed as a civil engineer with R.D. Zande & Associates. Preceded in death by father Gail Benner and sister Sharon Breen. Survived by wife, Connie Curtin Benner; son, Nick Benner; mother, Sara Carroll. BENNETT Richard E. Bennett, 71, Friday, September 20, 2002 following a brief illness. He was born June 5, 1931 and was a retired machinist with Metal Forge Manufacturing. He was a Army Veteran. Survived by his children, Regina, Max, Gaynetta, Richard, Coraleen, James Bennett; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces; 2 sisters, Freda Bennett, Thelma Kroger; 1 brother, Esco Bennett. BRATCHER Lucille Bratcher, age 78, of Johnstown, on Sunday September 22, 2002 at Mt. Carmel Medical Center. Born in Gratiot, OH to Floyd and Elda Snider. CASLOW Florence Lee Caslow, 64, of Los Fresnos, Tex., passed away Monday, September 23, 2002 at her residence. She is survived by her husband, Earl H. Caslow of Los Fresnos, Tex.; 4 children, Terri Sopha of Los Fresnos, Tex., Kenneth Hamlin, Rodney Hamlin and Robert Hamlin; 2 step-children, Delana Pence and Earl H. Caslow Jr., all of Columbus, Oh.; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Shirley A. Valentin; 1 brother, William Knight. She was involved in community service work and the American Red Cross for 30 years of service as a volunteer in Columbus, Oh. and Brownsville, Tex. CLEVELAND Rhodes J. Cleveland, 74, of Johnstown, died at Riverside Methodist Hospital on Sunday, September 22, 2002. Rhodes was born in Johnstown on November 3, 1927. He was a WW II Navy Veteran. CONKLIN Geneva G. Conklin, 92, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 22, 2002. Geneva was devoted to her family, friends, homemaking, and Marion's First United Church of Christ, where she had been a member for over 60 years. Everyone who knew Geneva responded to her enthusiasm for life and her willingness to help. "Birdie" would break into song spontaneously, making her world a happier place. Geneva was born February 21, 1910 in Marion, Oh. and was married to Leroy J. Conklin on March 29, 1931. She was preceded in death by her husband and her infant son Gene Allen Conklin. She is survived by 3 sons, Glenn (Sherry) Conklin of Columbia, Md., James (Sharon) Conklin of Westervile, Oh. and Robert (Cheryl) Conklin of Lancaster, Oh.; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer (Kevin) Reinhardt, Cynthia Conklin, Kent Conklin, Drew Conklin and Matt Conklin; 1 great-grandson, Jack Reinhardt; and long time friend, Marguerite Marble of Marion, Oh. Carmel Medical Center where she was a lifetime member of the Mt. Carmel Auxiliary. FAIRCHILD-MOCHEL Mary F. Fairchild-Mochel, 89, of Marion, Oh., born May 4, 1913 in Marion, died 2:30 p.m. September 22, 2002 at Maplewood Nursing Home. Preceded in death by father James Nelson Thomas and mother Barbara (Kirby), 1st husband Harlen Emery Fairchild whom she married in 1929 and died in 1975 and 2nd husband Arthur Mochel whom she married in 1968 and died in 1984 and brother James Nelson Thomas Jr. Co-owner and operator of Fairchild's Gulf Station and Grocery for 25 years. Member St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cardington, where she was involved with the Piece Makers. Performed mending work for East Lawn Manor. A faithful caregiver to family and friends, Mary was a wonderful woman and loved very much by those she touched. Survived by sons, Richard H. (Marilyn) Fairchild of Prospect, Jerald F. Fairchild of Marion and Larry A. (Mary Ellen) Fairchild of Fostoria; daughters, Mrs. Dick (Anna F.) Greer and Janet F.
