Ronald N. Watson
Bloomville Quarry foreman
Ronald W. Watson, 58, of 24 Earl St., Bloomville, died at 11:13 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
He was born in Republic, Sept. 30, 1940, to Daryl and Mable (Shawberry) Watson. His father survives. His wife, Jeanne (now Jeanne Watson Wayt), whom he married
in April, 1966, survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Chad Watson of Bloomville; a step-daughter, Mrs. Lane (Dee) Hempfield of Marion; a daughter-in-law, three nieces and three nephews; a sister, Mrs. Myron (Blanche) Walters of Fostoria; a brother, Charles Watson of Bloomville; and three grandchildren.
His mother is deceased.
Mr. Watson, a member of the Ohio and National Paint Horse Associations and the International Union of Operating Engineers, was employed as a foreman at the Bloomville Quarry, where he had worked for 22 years.
Services in the Lindsey-Olds Republic-Bloomville Funeral Home, rural Bloomville, will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Jeffrey King officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Bloomville.
Visitation at the funeral home will be 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

William R. Stauffer
Retired construction foreman
William R. Stauffer, 84, formerly of 68 Duchess Lane, died at 5:20 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, in Autumnwood Care Center.
He was born April 23, 1914, in Beaverdam, Ohio, to Virgil and Alice (Candler) Stauffer. On Oct. 10, 1936, in Wood County, he married
Corleen Thome, who preceded him in death Aug. 30, 1981.
Survivors include: a son, William S. Stauffer of Tiffin; two daughters, Janis C. Kirby of Tiffin and Mrs. Edwin (Pamela) Young of Republic; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Madeline Stauffer of Tiffin.
Also preceding him in death were a son, Jeffrey Stauffer, who died in 1993; and two sisters, Creta Margraf and Geraldine Kirchner.
Mr. Stauffer, who had attended the Tiffin schools, had been employed as a construction foreman. He helped build bridges on the Ohio Turnpike and helped in the construction of Davis-Besse Nuclear Plant.
A World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran, having served in the Aleutian Islands, he was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion and the AMVETS, all of Tiffin.
He had moved to Tiffin as a very young child.
Graveside services by the United Veteran's Council will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Greenlawn cemetery.
There will be no visitation. The Turner-Engle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Piano Fund of Autumnwood Care Center or a charity of the donor's choice.
Carl W. Hines
Retired machinist
Carl W. Hines, 83, formerly of 4th St., Upper Sandusky, died at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, in the Wyandot Manor Nursing Home, Upper Sandusky,where he had resided for the last few months.
He was born in Hardin County, Oct. 21, 1915, to Max and Eunice (Straw) Hines. His wife, Lolama (McDannell) Hines, whom he married
Aug. 8, 1938, in Maysville, Ky., survives.
Survivors also include: two sons, Dennis of Ney, Ohio and David of Upper Sandusky and their wives; a daughter, Mrs. Stephan (Judy) Reiser of Oregon City, Ore.; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Maurice (Pauline) Smith of Tiffin.
A brother, Paul and a sister, Vergene Thompson, also are deceased.
Mr. Hines, a machinist for more than 40 years, retired from Worthing Industries in 1982. He also owned and operated H & M Novelty in Upper Sandusky and surrounding towns for many years prior to his retirement.
Following retirement he owned and operated Hines Saw Sharpening out of his home.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where he had been a member for more than 70 years; Warpole Lodge 176 Free and Accepted Masons, BPOE 93, where he was a life member and Bud's Social Club, all of Upper Sandusky.
He also enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and feeding and watching the birds at his home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Lucas Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Jerry Elsholz officiating. Interment will be in Old Mission cemetery, Upper Sandusky.
Visitation at the funeral home will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, where Masonic Memorial services will be at 8:45 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the church, Warpole Lodge 176 F & AM or the donor's choice.
Faye Ann Draper
Infant daughter
Faye Ann Draper, infant daughter of Michael James Lewis of San Diego, Calif. and Kristy Mae Draper of 105 1/2 E. Findlay St., Carey, was stillborn at 4:13 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, at the Naval Medical Center, San Diego.
Survivors include her parents; maternal grandparents, Hal and Beverly Turnbell and maternal great-grandparents, James and Anna Mae Draper, all of Carey.
Graveside Scripture services were 3 p.m. Saturday in St. Mary's cemetery, Carey, with the Rev. Peter Damian Massengill officiating.
Memorials may be made to O.L.C. School Trojan Booster Association or Carey High School Athletic Department, in care of the Stombaugh Memorial Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey, OH 43316-1169, who were in charge of arrangements.
Margaret M. Daniel
Rural Willard homemaker
Margaret M. Daniel, 89, of 5936 Greenfield Section Line Road, Willard, died at 2:52 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, in Mercy Hospital of Willard.
She was born Feb. 17, 1910, in Bellevue to Joseph and Catherine (Ausberger) Schriner. Her husband, Leo G. Daniel, preceded her in death in 1990.
Surviving are a son, Raymond Daniel and his wife of Willard; a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Ruthann) Hohman of Bloomville; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a brother, James Schriner of Clyde; and two sisters, Dorothy and Hilda Daniel, both of Willard.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Andrew and Lawrence Schriner.
A homemaker, Mrs. Daniel was a member of St. Sebastian's Catholic Church andits Altar Rosary Society.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Sebastian's Catholic Church, with the Rev. William G. Hoyng officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, Bismark.
Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral service, 1295 W. Tiffin St., Attica, where a Rosary service will be at 8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to masses or to the Altar Rosary Society, in care of the funeral home.
Wayne A. Breitigan
Former truck driver
Word has been received of the death of Wayne A. Breitigan, 61, who died Friday morning, Feb. 26, 1999, at his residence in Golden Gate, Fla.
He was born Jan. 4, 1938, to the late Franklin A. and Gladys (Johnson) Breitigan.
Surviving are a brother, Paul P. and two sisters, Mrs. James (Kathleen) Spaun of Tiffin and Dorothy Frederick of Findlay.
A brother, Robert M. and an infant son, Timothy Lynn, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Breitigan, a former Tiffin resident and career truck driver, retired to Naples, Fla. in 1991.
Memorials may be made to Hospice or a charity of the donor's choice.

Burial service for Harvey Thomas Valentine, 75, of Massillon, who died Friday, Feb. 24, 1999, has been changed to 10-11 a.m., March 8 in St. Mary's cemetery, Tiffin. The Heitger's Funeral Home, Massillon, is in charge of arrangements.
Josephine A. Fraley

Former Tiffin resident, Josephine A. Fraley, 66, died at 9:20 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at her residence at 643 Bennett St., Findlay.
She was born in McCutchenville, Dec. 9, 1932, to the late William and Flossie (Sowers) Bland. On Dec. 31, 1952, in Ebenezer United Brethern Church (now Ebenezer United Methodist), she married
Billy B. Fraley Sr., who is deceased.
Surviving are two children, Bill B. (Gloria J.) Fraley Jr. of Tiffin and Anita H. Strang of Findlay; two grandchildren, four step-grandchldren and eight step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Beatrice Frasure of Tiffin and Mrs. Don (Fern) Smith of Florida.
Also preceding her in death were five brothers and a sister, Idell Long.
A retired nurses aide, Mrs. Fraley had lived in Findlay for three years.
Services in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. David Mills officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery.
Visitation at the funeral home is 7-9 p.m. today.

Eleanore J. 'Ell' Ickes

Eleanore J. "Ell" Ickes, 69, of CR 41, Fremont, died in Memorial Hospital, Fremont, Monday, March 1, 1999.
She was born in Fremont, Oct. 19, 1929, to the late Nicholas and Katherine (Gross) Oprie. Her husband of 47 years, Donald Ickes, whom she married
Feb. 25, 1952, in Knoxville, Tenn., survives in Fremont.
Other survivors include: three sons, Daniel and Christopher Ickes, both of Tiffin and Robert Ickes of Fremont; five daughters, Lynn Foos of Burgoon, Deborah Hunker of Tiffin, Virginia Belcher of West Salem, Ohio, Brenda Lemke of Toledo and Rebecca Watt of Clyde; two sisters, Charlotte Nitschke of Fremont and Margaret Novak of Westland, Mich.; 16 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Three brothers, Joseph, Nicholas and Eli Oprie and four sisters, Mary Kaeming, Ann Gergin, Catherine Camarata and Jean Lorentz, are deceased.
A homemaker, Mrs. Ickes also worked at H&M Bakery. She was an avid ClevelandIndians and Browns fan.
The Rev. Ted Miller will be the officiant at the 11 a.m. Thursday service in the Wonderly-Horvath Funeral Home, Fremont. Interment will be in St. Joseph cemetery.
Visitation at the funeral home will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Lowell H. Harris

Lowell H. Harris, 37, died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, at his home at 1510 North St. C, Fremont.
He was born in Youngstown, Feb. 18, 1962, to the Rev. Ewell H. and Annie L. (Smith) Harris, who survive in Fostoria. In 1985, he married
Ngozi Okeke and they were divorced. She survives in Findlay. He also was married
to Susan Bennett, and they also were divorced. She survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: two sons, Lowell H. Harris Jr. of Findlay and Emmanual Harris of New York; a daughter, Sheneice M. Harris of Findlay; a sister, A. Laurene Harris of Haines City, Fla.; and his grandmother, Gladys V. Mayberry, also of Haines City.
A 1981 graduate of Fostoria High School, Mr. Harris worked as a laborer for 14 years with Church & Dwight Division of Arm & Hammer in Old Fort.
He was a member of the Greater St. James Church of God, Fremont and formerly served as a youth musician at the First Baptist Church in Fostoria.
The Rev. T.A. Smith will be the officiant at the 1 p.m. Friday service in the First Baptist Church, Fostoria. Interment will be in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday and at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Alma (Hoyles) Welling

Alma (Hoyles) Welling, 89, of Tiffin, died at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, 1999, in the Autumnwood Care Center.
She was born July 3, 1909, in Huron County, Willard, the daughter of Charles V. and Rosa (Moes) Hoyles.
A niece, Leona Bors of Waverly, survives.
Her brother, John W. Hoyle, is deceased.
A farmer, Mrs. Welling was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella and Catholic Ladies of Columbia.
A funeral Mass in St. Joseph Catholic Church will be 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rosary recited at 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home will be 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday.
Memorials may be made to the Seneca County Homeless Coalition.
Eva G. Brill-Sherman
Retired sales clerk
Former Tiffin resident, Eva G. Brill-Sherman, 101, died at 9:30 p.m. Monday, March 1, 1999, in The Arbors at Clyde.
She was born in Wood County, March 3, 1897, to Ernest F. and Bertha (Frankfother) Matthews. Her first husband, William J. Brill, whom she married
Feb. 18, 1917, died in 1954. She later married
, Clarence Sherman, who preceded her in death in 1979.
Survivors include: two step-daughters, Mary Louise Hoppes of Tiffin and Iretha Sherman of Clyde; a sister, Mary Card of Gladwin, Mich.; a brother, Clifford T. Matthews of Beaumont, Texas; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were two sons, Robert and John Brill; a grandson, Jerry Brill; a great-grandson, Greg Mellott; two brothers and a sister.
Her daughter-in-law, Ruth Brill, resides in Tiffin.
Mrs. Sherman, a member of Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church, retired as a sales clerk from People's Store and Uhlman's.
She also was a charter member of the United Methodist Women of Pleasant Ridge.
Services in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home will be 2 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. James Mussman officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge cemetery (Egbert's).
Visitation at the funeral home will be noon-2 p.m. Thursday.
