Raymond F. Weber Sr.
Clyde Whirlpool retiree

Raymond F. Weber Sr. of Center Street, Bellevue, died Tuesday April 13, 1999, at his home following a long illness.

He was born Dec. 21, 1923, in Bellevue to Mr. and Mrs. Fred (Harriet Andecover) Weber. He married Barbara Beck on Feb. 1, 1943, in Sandusky. She died in 1996.

Surviving are: a son, Raymond F. Weber Jr. of Sandusky; two daughters, Betty Jane Saylor of Green Springs and Carol Ann Denman of Marion; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Weber retired from Whirlpool, Clyde Division in 1981, after 37 years of service.

He was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Bellevue, and a member of Bellevue Moose Lodge 238, Eagles 490 and VFW Post 1838, Bellevue.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. John's Lutheran Church, with Pastor David Wietelmann officiating. Burial will be in Bellevue cemetery. The body will lie in state after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.

Friends will be received at the Foos and Son Funeral Home, Bellevue 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, where Bellevue Moose Lodge 238 will conduct services at 7 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the church or the American Kidney Fund.

Sherman M. Daugherty
Whirlpool retiree

Sherman M. Dougherty, 82, of Elmdale Ave., Clyde, more recently of Arbors of Clyde, died Thursday, April 15, 1999. He was born March 17, 1917, to Searl Burton and Rose (Wechter) Daugherty. On April 25, 1945, he married Beulah J. Michaels. She died Feb. 23, 1996.

Survivors include: two sons, Daniel of Brunswick and B. Scott of Sheffield Lake; two brothers, Charles of Trotwood and Donald of Norwalk; a sister, Mrs. Leon (Bertha) Riley of Norwalk; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were: four brothers, William, Fred, Paul and Robert Daugherty; two sisters, Kathryn Newberger and Rose O'Hara.

Mr. Daugherty attended Norwalk Schools and was a World War II Army veteran who served in the Pacific Theatre. He worked for the Whirlpool Corp., retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, VFW and American Legion, all of Clyde.

The Rev. Jeff Nordhaus will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Saturday service at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clyde. Burial will be in McPherson cemetery, Veterans Section.

Visitation hours are 2-4 and 7-9 tonight at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde.

Military graveside services will be by the Clyde American Legion and Clyde VFW.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church.

Caroline E. Nycum
Retired Findlay OBES employee

Caroline E. Nycum, 86, of 809 Hawthorne Road, Findlay, died at 8:25 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, 1999, at Winebrenner Village, Findlay. She was born Aug. 7, 1912, to Ralph H. and Arsana (Beck) Moyer. On Feb. 4, 1934, she married Glenard C. Nycum. He died in January 1984.

Surviving is a sister, Bonita A. Moyer of Findlay.

Ms. Nycum was retired as an employment services representative for the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services. Memberships included: St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Findlay; past president of the Business and Professional Women's Club of Findlay and Hancock County, and past member of the National Honor Society at Findlay High School.

Private family services are under the direction of Coldren-Crates Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery.

Frederick D. Law
Retired welder

Frederick D. Law, 79, of Bethesda Care Center, Fremont, died at 1:09 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 1999. He was born July 18, 1919, to Earl B. and Nora Jane (Meachem) Law. In February 1949, he married Peggy L. Clarkston. She is deceased.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Deborah A.) Billet of Bettsville and Mrs. Richard (Darlene A.) Smith of Pleasant Hill; a brother, Charles Law; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were two brothers, Charles and Sherman Law, and a sister, Marie Howard.

Mr. Law served in the U.S. Navy, during World War II and until 1951. He retired as a welder.

There will be no services. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery, Jackson, Ohio. Engle Funeral Home of Bettsville in charge of arrangements.

Terri L. 'Toby' Young
Resident of Tiffin

Terri L. "Toby" Young, 48, of 506 E. Perry St., died at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, 1999. He was born Nov. 17, 1950, to Carl R. and Thelma (Shuck) Young. They are deceased.

Surviving are four brothers, Richard E. of Tiffin, Thomas E., Ronald A., and David L. Young, all of Findlay; and five sisters, Mrs. Duane (Phyllis) Vogel of Fostoria, Mrs. Donald (Sharon) Shock of Republic, Mrs. Larry (Marcia) Myers, Mrs. Thomas (Vicki) Nye, and Mrs. Robert (Karen) McConaha, all of Tiffin.

Preceding him in death were two brothers and a sister.

The Rev. Benny Fitch will officiate the 10 a.m. Saturday graveside service at Fairmont cemetery.

There are no visitation hours. Arrangements are being handled by Turner-Engle Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.

Beryl L. Seitz
Former Tiffin resident

Beryl L. Seitz, 88, of Campbell, Ky., formerly of 27 Hancock St., died at 10:42 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, Ky. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Msgr. Edward Dunn officiating. Further arrangements are pending at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.

Edward J. Werling Jr.
Resident of Tiffin

Edward J. Werling Jr., 74, of 79 Wentz St., died at 11:16 a.m. Thursday, April 15, 1999, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home. The funeral Mass will be Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church. Further arrangements are pending at the funeral home.

John L. 'Roy' Henderson
Resident of Bloomville

John L. "Roy" Henderson, 80, of 16 S. Prospect St., Bloomville, died Wednesday morning, April 14, 1999, at Med Central Mansfield Hospital, after a brief illness. He was born July 12, 1918, in Dunkirk to Frank and Hazel (Wilson) Henderson. He married Margaret Hansen. She is deceased. He married Florence Minzer July 10, 1954, in Bloomville. She survives.

Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Estella Fisher of Fremont; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were a son, Michael; a daughter, Sandra; and five brothers, Paul, David Ray, Joseph, Benjamin and an infant brother.

He was a member of the Bloom Township Volunteer Fire Department and a World War II Army veteran. He was co-owner of Roy's Marathon in Bloomville, retiring in 1978.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Lindsay-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR. 19, Bloomville, with the Rev. Gary Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Gibsonburg West Union cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Edward J. Werling, Jr.
National Machinery retiree

Edward Jopseph Werling, Jr., 74, of 79 Wentz St., Tiffin died at 11:16 a.m., Thursday, April 16, 1999, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. He was born on June 11, 1924, in Tiffin to Edward J. Sr., and Leona (Fredritz) Werling. On Nov. 25, 1948, he married Iretha Rose Taylor in St. Mary Catholic Church, and she survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Michael Werling of Olney, Ill., and Stephen Werling of San Antonio, Texas.; four daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Renee) Sand, Mrs. Joseph (Madeline) Scherger; Theresa Warnement and Margaret Werling, all of Tiffin; two brothers, Robert Werling of Stuart, Fla., and Eugene Werling of Tiffin; five sisters, Mrs. Paul (Donna) Riemer of Tiffin, Mrs. Lambert (Regina) Gassner of Tiffin, Mrs. Francis (Mary Ann) Kern of Tiffin, Mrs. Robert (Joyce) Mortimer of Melbourne, Fla., and Mrs. Jack (Rita) Myrann of Pheonix, Ariz.; ten grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and three step-great grandchildren.

Preceded in death were: a sister, Madeline Kiesel; three brothers Paul, Harold and Gerald Werling; and a granddaughter.

Mr. Werling worked for National Machinery for 33 years and retired in 1988 as a machinist. Memberships included: St. Mary Catholic Church; Knights of Columbus 3rd degree; Eagles Lodge Aerie 402 of Tiffin; National Machinery Quarter Century Club, and formerly active in the Boy scouts.

The Rev. Frank Murd will officiate the 1:30 p.m. Monday service at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tiffin. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic cemetery.

Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin.

A wake service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday; Quarter Century Club will meet at 7 p.m. Sunday, and the Rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior to the Funeral Mass on Monday.

Memorials may be made to: St. Mary Catholic Church; Eaglewood Care Center of Carey; or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Terri L. 'Toby' Young
Tiffin resident

Beryl L. Seitz
Former Tiffin resident

Beryl L. Seitz, 88, of 7957 Hwy. 55, Campbellsburg, KY, formerly of 27 Hancock St., Tiffin, died at 10:42 p.m., Wednesday, April 14, 1999. She was born to William and Mary (Scott) Shelt. She married Howard G. Seitz in Tiffin; he died in 1961.

Surviving include: two sons, Michael Seitz of Tiffin, and Donald Seitz of Campbellsburg, Kent.; a brother, William Shelt of Tiffin; nine grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Preceded in death were: two brothers, Donald and Warren Shelt; and two sisters, Mrs. James (Roberta) Haeflet and Juanita Shelt.

Mrs. Seitz was a 1928 Calvert High School graduate. She worked in the cafeteria at St. Joseph's Elementary and at Calvert High School cafeteria. Later she worked as the librarian at Calvert High School, she worked for the school system for approximately 20 years. Her memberships included: St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Rosary Altar Society.

The MSGR. Edward Dunn will officiate the 11 a.m. Monday funeral service at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph cemetery.

Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to Calvert High School Libarary.

Alton G. Drew
Area resident and farmer

Alton G. Drew, 77, of 1707 Walnut St., Fostoria, formerly of 1076 Carrie Lane, Fostoria, died at 9:50 a.m., Friday, April 16, 1999. He was born March 4, 1922, to Roscoe and Florence (Brandberry) Drew.

Surviving include five sisters, Betty Baker, Marjorie Burns, Joan Simpkins, Barbara Schubert, and LaDonna Burns, all of Tiffin and Mrs. Warren (Della) Overly of Fostoria.

Preceded in death were: three brothers, Charles, Earl, and Edward Drew; and a sister, Nancy Drew.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be at Weaver cemetery.

Visitation hours are from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Thomas P. Haspeslagh
Attica resident

Thomas P. Haspeslagh, 56, of 6524 Egypt Road, Attica, died at 7:20 p.m., Thursday, April 15, 1999, at St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee after a short illness. He was born Aug. 9, 1942, to the late Paul Haspeslagh and Helen (Hahler) Haspeslagh, who survives in Attica. Thomas was married June 15, 1973, to Mary Ann (Kieffer), who survives.

Surviving include: two sons, Joseph T. Haspeslagh of Willard, and Charles F. Haspeslagh of Attica; two sisters, Mrs. Cynthia Hillis of Willard, and Jocelyn H. Haspeslagh of Attica; four brothers, Arthur Haspeslagh of Woodbury, Minn., Roger and Sonie Haspeslagh of Willard, James and Belinda Haspeslagh of Tiro, and Michael Haspeslagh of Attica; two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Alice) Carpenter of Willard, and Mrs. Richard (Linda) Hastings of Macclenny, Fla.; and three grandsons: Christopher, Michael and Eric Hillis of Willard.

Preceded in death was a brother, Ronald Haspeslagh.

He was a graduate of Attica High School, class of 1960, then worked at Attica Lumber for 34 years and farmed. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus where he served as Past Grand Knight and the Measure up Champaign, supporter and member of the Seneca East FFA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with The Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will be in the Sts. Peter and Paul cemetery, Attica.

Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Home, 1295 W. Tiffin St., Attica, where a Rosary service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Masses, or the K of C through the funeral home.
