Martha L. 'Louise' Jacobs
Mother of Tiffin resident

Martha L. "Louise" (McDaniel) Jacobs, 68, of Kentucky Avenue, Fremont, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at her home.

She was born Aug. 25, 1931, in Warrior, Ala., to the late Carl and Lena Marie (Abel) McDaniel.

Surviving are four sons, Myron Jacobs Jr. and Joe Simmons, both of Fremont, Lenny Simmons Jr. of Tiffin and Ralph Chapman of Texas; two daughters, Myra Jacobs Kohlenberg of Sandusky and Lena Goldenetz of St. Mary's; a brother, Lonnie McDaniel of Tiffin; a sister, Edith Newsome of Alabama; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A son, Richard Chapman Jr., also is deceased.

Mrs. Jacobs had been employed as a clerk at Nickles Bakery for 20 years, retiring in 1995.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Fairmont cemetery, Tiffin.

Visitation at the Wonderly-Horvath Funeral Home, Fremont, is 7-9 p.m. today.

Memorials may be made to the church.

Robert D. Munoz
Val Verde Photography retiree

Robert D. Munoz, 73, of 6177 N. Co. Rd. 25, Fostoria, died at 1:25 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999 at Providence Hospital in Sandusky. He was born on Jan. 26, 1926 to Theodore C. and Ermila (Diaz) Munoz. On March 7, 1947 he married Marjorie A. Hollenbaugh, and she survives in Fostoria.

Other survivors include: two sons, Robert D. Munoz, Jr. of Kings Mountain, N.C., and Mark S. Munoz of Fostoria; three daughters, Mrs. Gloria Bragg of Bay Village, Mrs. Christine Butler of Ida, Mi., and Mrs. Marcia Allen of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother, Richardo Munoz of San Antonio, Tx.; and 13 grandchildren.

A brother, Theodore Munoz, is deceased.

Mr. Munoz served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He was a self-employed photographer at Val Verde Photography for over 20 years, retiring in 1996. He is a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church, Fostoria.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rehoboth United Methodist Church, Fostoria.

There are no visitation hours.

Memorials may be made to the family in care of Mann-Hare Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria, Ohio 44830, where funeral arrangements are being handled.

Jean E. Pfeiffer
Lifelong Tiffin resident

Jean E. Pfeiffer, 80, of 74 W. Perry St., Tiffin, died at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999. She was born in Tiffin on March 10, 1919 to Charles Edward and Hazel (Michaels) Homan. On Oct. 4, 1941 she was married in St. John's United Church of Christ, Tiffin to Richard C. Pfeiffer. He is deceased.

Survivors include: a son, Dan E. Pfeiffer of Lansing, Mi.; a daughter, Mrs. Amy L. Turner of Tiffin; three brothers, Merle and James Homan, both of Tiffin, and Robert Homan of Yakiwa, Wa.; a sister, Mary Ellen Boner of Tiffin; six grandchildren; and a great grandchild.

A son, Marc Alan Pfeiffer, who died in infancy; a brother, Earl Homan; and two sisters, Alice Pfeiffer, and Ruth Fisher, are deceased.

Mrs. Pfeiffer was a Class of 1937 Tiffin Columbian graduate, a homemaker, and member of St. John's United Church of Christ; Y-Wives; and honorary Rotarian.

The Rev. David M. Culp will officiate the 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999 funeral service at St. John's United Church of Christ. Burial will be at Fairmont cemetery.

Visitation hours are from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today at Turner-Engle Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Autism Society of NW Ohio; American Cancer; and/or St. John's United Church of Christ.

Patricia (Pat) Ann Clements
Upper Sandusky resident

Patricia (Pat) Ann Clements, 72, of 721 Chestnut Dr., Upper Sandusky, died at 1:22 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999 in Ohio State University Hospital East, Columbus. She was born in Marion to Robert J. and Marjorie A. (Barrack) Cusick. On Nov. 16, 1946, she married Robert C. Clements. He died Nov. 29, 1997.

Survivors include: a son, Kevin Clements of Columbus; five daughters, Mrs. Sheryl Pfeiffer of Upper Sandusky, Mrs. Colleen Spotts of East Greenwich, R.I., Mrs. Karen Biederman of Bucyrus, Kim Clements of Columbus, and Mrs. Lora Shaffer of Hilliard; a sister, Mrs. Sheila Zuern of Tiffin; and 10 grandchildren.

A son, Robert Craig, and a brother, James Cusick, are deceased.

Mrs. Clements graduated in 1945 at St. Mary's High School, Marion. She was a homemaker and had worked at the former Sears Store in Upper Sandusky. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church; Catholic Ladies of Columbia; Rosary Altar; ABC Mother's League; Tripoli Card Club; and volunteered at both St. Vincent DePaul and St. Peter's Festival, Upper Sandusky.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be officiated by Fr. James Holmer at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Upper Sandusky. Burial will be at St. Peter Parish cemetery.

Visitation hours are from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today at the Bringman-Clark Funeral Home. Biblical Scripture Service to be held at 8:45 p.m. followed by CLC Memorial Service.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Endowment Fund; OSU Research for Infectious Disease; and/or Wyandot Health Foundation.

Frances H. Cahill
Retired secretary

Frances H. Cahill, 76, of 2119 S. Glendale Drive, died at 8:25 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999, in the Autumnwood Care Center.

She was born Dec. 24, 1922, in Toledo, to Cloyd C. and Helen L. (Frary) Cahill. She never married .

She is survived by a sister, Margaret Cahill of Tiffin; two nephews, Steve Wolfe and Michael Wolfe both of Tiffin; and a niece, Mrs. Larry (Elizabeth) Ball of Tiffin.

A sister, Mary E. Wolfe, preceded her in death.

Miss Cahill was a 1940 Columbian High School graduate and a secretary at National Machinery. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church; past matron and member Tiffin Chapter Order Eastern Star 189; member Quarter Century Club; past president of St. Paul's Daughters; and a former Mercy Hospital volunteer.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Greenlawn cemetery with the Rev. Gail Angel officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church or to Mercy Hospital.

The Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Marilyn J. Routzahn
Homemaker

Marilyn J. Routzahn, 65, of 91 Beechwood Drive, died at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, in the emergency room of the Tiffin Mercy Hospital.

She was born in Bloomville Feb. 6, 1934, to Clarence A. and Violet P. (Lowry) Firestone. She married Carlton E. "Gene" Routzahn Nov. 27, 1955, in the First English Lutheran Church.

Survivors include: her husband; a son, Jeffrey of Tiffin; three sisters, Mrs. Edward (Shirley) Nusbaum and Judith Thacker, both of Tiffin, Karen Firestone of Fostoria; and three grandchildren.

Her parents along with a brother, Gaylord Firestone, preceded her in death.

She was a 1952 Columbian High School graduate; an accountant at the former Tiffin State Hospital; and a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

A private funeral will be today at the Barnes Memorial Chapel at Greenlawn cemetery with the Rev. Jan Kucera officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care of Tiffin.

The Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Pauline E. Lucius
Homemaker

Pauline E. Lucius, 91, formerly of 3125 S. CR 591, died at 9:45 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999, at the St. Francis Home in Tiffin.

She was born Aug. 9, 1908, in Seneca County to Adam and Elizabeth (Koepfer) Wank. On Jan. 10, 1934, she married Louis P. Lucius in the St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel. He died Sept. 1, 1971.

Survivors include: five sons, Marion, Eugene, Herman and Leo, all of Tiffin, and Virgil of California; three daughters, Mrs. Emil (Alice) Siegle Jr. of New Riegel, Mrs. Douglas (Rose Mary) Brown of Willard and Helen Ring of Twinsburg; 39 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Preceding her in death were two sons, Joseph and Louis Paul; and two brothers, Harold and Francis Wank.

Mrs. Lucius was a homemaker; a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel; and its Rosary Altar Society.

The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel, with the rosary recited 15 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in the St. Boniface cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Sunday at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, where there will be a Parish Wake Service at 4 p.m.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Jean E. Pfeiffer
Life-long Tiffin resident

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at St. John's United Church of Christ for Jean E. Pfeiffer, 80, who died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999, at her residence.

Visitation will be one-half hour before the service.

The Turner-Engle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

June Martin
Fostoria resident

June Martin, 74, of Lynn Street, Fostoria, died at 2:26 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, in Fostoria Community Hospital.

Arrangements are pending at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Clara Louise Smith
Former county resident

Clara Louise Sprow Roorback Smith, 97, of Savannah, died Friday morning, Dec. 17, 1999, in Kingston Nursing Home, Ashland, after a brief illness.

She was born March 16, 1902, in Seneca County to Albert and Mary Elizabeth (Dillman) Sprow. She had lived most of her life in the New London and Greenwich areas.

Her first husband, Herman Roorback, died in 1959. She then married Don W. Smith, who died in 1973.

She is survived by two daughters, Hazel Lois Koontz of Mission, Texas, and Martha Hord of Greenwich; two brothers, George Sprow of Cleveland and Bert Sprow of Spokane, Wash.; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to both of her husbands, a grandson preceded her in death.

She graduated from Mansfield Business College; worked at the former C. E. Ward Co. of New London and at the former Centaur Tractor of Greenwich; was a homemaker and worked on the family farm; enjoyed raising strawberries and weaving rag rugs; and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church, Savannah.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London, with the Pastor John Bouquet officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the New London funeral home. Burial will follow at Grove Street cemetery, New London.

Visitation also will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Eastman Funeral Home, 49 W. Main St., Greenwich.

Memorials may be given to the family in care of the funeral home.

John B. 'Barney' Davidson
Columbia Gas retiree

John B. "Barney" Davidson, 68, died at 11:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at his home at 5050 S. SR 53.

He was born in Tiffin, Feb. 11, 1931, to the late John Elias and Hilda (Guttenberg) Davidson. On Nov. 21, 1984, in Sycamore, he married Louise Jacoby Roth, who survives.

Other survivors include: four sons, John B. Jr., Mike, Ronald E. and Tim E. Davidson, all of Tiffin; a daughter, Mrs. Robert L. (Linda Sue) Yeater of McCutchenville; a step-son, Michael Roth of Clyde; three brothers, Mark and Ralph Davidson, both of Nevada, and William Davidson of Hoagland, Ind.; five sisters, Mrs. Earl (Winnifred) Ohlinger of Carey, Mrs. Arthur (Mary C.) Welly of Tiffin, Mrs. Don (Irene) Cass of Gillette, Wyo., Mrs. Robert (Jessie) Parley, also of Carey, and Mrs. Jim (Shirley) Ellision of Los Angeles, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and four step-grandsons.

Also preceding him in death were two grandsons, two brothers, Donald and Edward Davidson, and a sister, Rachel Long.

Mr. Davidson, a member of the Catholic faith, retired as a supervisor from Columbia Gas of Ohio, after 35 years of employment. He also was the co-owner of Lo-Jo Racing Stables.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, he was a member of the Seneca County Horsemen, the United States Trotting Association and Eagles Aerie 402, where he was a 40-year member.

The Rev. Roy B. Howell will be the officiant at the 10 a.m. Tuesday service in Trinity United Church of Christ, McCutchenville. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery, Tiffin, where military graveside services will be conducted by the United Veterans Council.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, where Eagles services will be at 8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Mohawk High School, the Oncology Department of Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Community Hospice Care or to a charity of the donor's choice.
