Carl Runion
Retired mechanic

Carl Runion, 90, 250 Charlotte St., died at 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000, in the Ruffing Family Care Center.

He was born in Bloomville Aug. 24, 1909, to Benjamin and Minnie (Roy) Runion. On Aug. 10, 1927, in Genoa, he married Viola Elizabeth Taylor. They were divorced. She died in 1956. His second wife, Eleanor Runion, whom he married in 1947, died in 1986.

Survivors include: three sons, Gerald, Edward and Richard Runion, all of Tiffin; five daughters, Gloria Fitch, Ida Bell, Alice Fitch, Carol J. Webb and Rita Fitch, all of Tiffin; three sisters, Sarah Fish of Tiffin, Ruth Lawrence of Norwalk and Mabel Arden of Oceola; 45 grandchildren, 84 great-grandchildren and 47 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were four sons, Lyle, Dale, Carl Jr. and Kenneth Runion; four brothers, Frank, Robert, Al and Clary Runion; a sister, Betty Bloomfield; and a stepdaughter, Ellen Runion.

Mr. Runion retired as a mechanic from Mohawk Motors.

Private family services will be Wednesday in the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, with the Rev. Al Wilkes officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care.

Laura I. Overmier
Tiffin homemaker

Laura I. Overmier, 79, 2320 W. CR 6, formerly of 165 Eighth Ave., died at 1:40 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, in the Ruffing Family Care Center of Tiffin.

She was born in Toledo April 11, 1920, to Alva and Sarah A. (Bowersox) Burns. Her husband, Carl N. Overmier, died March 11, 1987.

Surviving are: three sons, Daniel Overmier of Upper Sandusky, Carl N. Overmier Jr. of Tiffin and Oliver A. Overmier of Alvada; a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Laura Jean) Wilson of Bloomville; three sisters, Mildred Brown of Green Springs, Margaret Brown and Mrs. Russell (Lois) Overmier, both of Tiffin; two brothers, James and John "Pete" Burns, both of Tiffin; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were a daughter, Patricia Ateha, and a brother, Clifford Burns.

A homemaker, Mrs. Overmier was a memberof St. Mary Catholic Church.

She also was a member of the Bloomville American Legion Auxiliary, Tiffin Women of the Moose, Eagles Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and the women's group of AMVETS.

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary Catholic Church, where the rosary will be recited at 9:45 a.m. The Rev. William Rose will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, where a wake service will be at 3:45 and Eagles Auxiliary services at 7:30.

Memorials may be made to the church.

Anne E. Hanna
Tiffin native/retired teacher

Anne E. Hanna, 79, formerly of Lima, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000, at her residence in Naples, Fla.

She was born in Tiffin Aug. 7, 1920, to Howard W. and Clara (Bork) Pennell. On Nov. 19, 1949, she married Frank Hanna. He died June 15, 1999.

Survivors include: four daughters, Elizabeth R. Dale of Delaware, Ohio, Mrs. Larry (Patricia S.) Gross of Lima, Mrs. Richard (Mary M.) Dailey of Dublin and Mrs. Matthew (Amy F.) Tewers of Northwood.

Two daughters, Catherine "Katie" and Judith Anne "Judy" Hanna, also are deceased.

Mrs. Hanna, who had been a director at St. Rita's School of Nursing, retired as a teacher from the Lima City Schools.

A graduate of Heidelberg College and the University of Dayton, she was a member of Catholic Women's College Club, Westside Swim and Racquet Club, St. Charles Catholic Church, Lima and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Naples

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Charles Catholic Church, with the Rev. Mike Dandurand officiating. Burial will be in Gethsemani cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Hogenkamp Rousculp Funeral Home, 900 W. Grand Ave., Lima, where a parish wake service will be at 8.

Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Home, Little Sisters of the Poor, Oregon, Ohio; St.John the Evangelist Catholic Church Building Fund, Naples, or St. Charles Church.

Donald B. McDannell Sr.
Melmore Garage owner

Donald B. McDannell Sr., 61, of 166 Clark Road, Sycamore, died at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, in the Emergency Care Center of Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.

He was born Oct. 1, 1938, in Lovely, Pa., to the late Merle and Hattie (McClucas) McDannell.

Surviving are three sons, Don H. McDannell of McCutchenville, Darrell M. McDannell of Republic and Christopher L. Brown of Defiance; a daughter, Mrs. Meadina Creeger of Tiffin; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Ronald H. McDannell of rural Sycamore and Merle McDannell of Gettysburg, Pa.; and a stepsister, Mrs. William (Mary Catherine) Gaydis of Windbur, Pa.

Three sisters are also deceased.

Mr. McDannell, a member of the Protestant faith, had been the owner of the Melmore Garage since 1964.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, with the Rev. Andrew Angel officiating. Interment will be in Nevada cemetery, Wyandot County.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Gloria H. Eddingfield
Tiffin resident's sister

Word has been received of the death of Gloria H. (Katterheinrich) Eddingfield, 68, of 2827 Whippoorwill Ave., Elida, who died at her home Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, after an extended illness with cancer.

She was born April 7, 1931, near New Bremen, St. Mary's Township, Auglaize County, to the late Victor and Amanda (Topp) Hirschfeld.

On Aug. 4, 1951, she married Howard G. Katterheinrich. He died March 31, 1991. On May 30, 1992, she married Francis M. "Eddie" Eddingfield, who survives in Elida.

Other survivors include: three sons, Dennis Katterheinrich of New Knoxville, Wayne Katterheinrich of Cridersville and Vaughn Katterheinrich of Lima; a daughter, Mrs. Russell (Ronda) Hart of Indianapolis, Ind.; two stepsons, Michael Eddingfield of San Antonio, Texas, and Steven Eddingfield of Indianapolis; 12 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Wallace Hirschfeld of Marion; and two sisters, Mrs. Dan (Eldora) Orwig of Tiffin and Mrs. Don (Shirley) Luedeke of New Bremen.

Mrs. Eddingfield, a homemaker, was a member of the Gideons, Lima Baptist Temple and its choir, Women's Prayer Fellowship and the Visionaries (a missionary craft group). She also taught Sunday school at the church.

A 1949 graduate of Memorial High School, St. Marys, she attended nurses training at Memorial Hospital, Lima.

She also enjoyed music and entertained at many social functions on the keyboard.

Services were Dec. 31 in the Lima Baptist Temple, with burial following in Pilger Ruhe cemetery, New Knoxville.

Memorials may be made to St. Rita's Hospice Care or the Gideon Society, in care of the Gilberg Funeral Home, 225 W. Monroe St., New Bremen, OH 45869; or a charity of the donor's choice.

D. Myrial Stoldt
Homemaker/former bookkeeper

D. Myrial Stoldt, 73, of 207 N. Liberty St., Attica, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 5, 2000, in Providence Hospital, Sandusky.

She was born July 17, 1926, in Chatfield Township, Crawford County, to the late Berleman and Velma (Ziegler) Sheerer. On May 10, 1948, she married R. James Stoldt. He survives.

Survivors also include: a son, Robert J. Stoldt of Weston; two daughters, Linda Stoldt and Barbara Bayer, both of Attica; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

She also was preceded in death by a baby brother.

Mrs. Stoldt, a homemaker, also worked as a bookkeeper for B.H. Sheerer Farm and Home Supply and Sheerer & Stoldt Inc. in Attica,.

She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Attica, its Dorcas Circle and Women's Group; Alpha Iota Sorority, Order of Eastern Star, Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, with the Rev. James Barkenquast officiating. Burial will be in Attica-Venice cemetery, Attica.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR 19, Bloomville, and 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be made to the church, Seneca East Public Library or a charity of the donor's choice.

Corinne H. Walliser
Tiffin Developmental Center retiree

Corinne H. Walliser, 98, formerly of 55 Gross St., died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, in St. Francis Home, where she resided.

She was born April 28, 1901, in Reed Township, Seneca County, to Laurence and Ida (Daniel) Schoen. On June 28, 1921, in Reed Assumption Catholic Church, she married Alphonse Walliser. He died Oct. 29, 1954.

Surviving are: two sons, Don Walliser of Tiffin and Paul "Pete" Walliser of Dunedin, Fla.; two daughters, Emma Nagel of Willard and Anna Miller of Marywood; six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Virginia Walliser; two brothers, Norbert and Walter Schoen; and three sisters, Marie Hovis, Elizabeth Schoen and Clara Lofland, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Walliser retired in 1971 from the Tiffin Developmental Center after 17 years of employment in the Pines Shop.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, its Rosary Altar Society and the Daughters of Isabella.

The Rev. Msgr. Edward Dunn will be the celebrant at the 11 a.m. Friday funeral Mass in St. Joseph Catholic Church, where the rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, where a wake service will be at 3:45 p.m.

Memorials may be made to St. Francis Home, the church or a charity of the donor's choice.

Helen M. Coe
Retired registered nurse

Helen M. Coe, 95, died at 3:20 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000, in St. Francis Home, where she had resided for the past 22 years.

She was born in Woodville Nov. 15, 1904, to Joseph A. and Susan (Rhynn) Kirsch. Her first husband, Earl J. Lewis, died in 1970. She later married Gordon Coe, who died in 1977.

Surviving are a niece and cousins.

A sister also is deceased.

Mrs. Coe, a 1925 graduate of St. John's Hospital, Cleveland, had been employed as a nurse, working at St. Vincent, Mercy and Toledo Hospitals, retiring in 1969. She also did private duty nursing.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Francis Chapel, with the Rev. Richard Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery, Toledo.

Visitation will be one hour before the service Friday at St. Francis.

Memorials may be made to St. Francis Home.

The Turner-Engle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Linda J. Dillon
Fostoria resident

Linda J. Dillon, 43, of 1290 Perrysburg Road, Fostoria, died at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at the Medical College of Ohio, Toledo. She was born Aug. 7, 1956, to Fred Fraley, who is deceased, and Beatrice J. (Brady) Fox, who survives in Fostoria. She married Gary L. Dillon. They were divorced. He survives in Fostoria.

Other survivors include: a son, Jeremy L. Dillon of Findlay; two daughters, Mrs. Lesley Rumschlag and Tammy L. Dillon, both of Fostoria; a stepmother, Marlene (Burrow) Fraley of Fostoria; three sisters, Mrs. Deborah Watkins of Rawson, Mrs. Jennifer Sherman and Mrs. Rebecca Hopple, both of Fostoria.

Preceding her in death was her stepfather, Lowell H. Fox.

Mrs. Dillon was a homemaker and member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Moose Lodge 1567 and Eagles Club 430, all of Fostoria.

The Rev. Lucinda Hunter will officiate the 11 a.m. Saturday funeral at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Interment will be at Memory Gardens in Arcadia.

Visitation will be 5-9 tonight at the funeral home.

Nancy L. Wenner
Republic resident

Nancy L. Wenner, 66, of 407 Kilbourne St., Republic, died Thursday evening, Dec. 30, 1999 in the emergency room at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin, after a sudden illness.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Republic United Church of Christ with the Rev. Jeffrey King officiating.

The Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, of Republic and Bloomville, are in charge of the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Republic United Church of Christ.

Robert W. Ethell
Retired cook

Robert W. Ethell, 63, of 330 Water St. died at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at his residence.

He was born July 15, 1936, in Columbus to Wayne F. and Louise (Hossler) Ethell. He married Charlotte Bixler Feb. 25, 1979 in Findlay. She survives.

Also surviving are an adopted son, Chris Wagner of Tiffin; a stepson, Richard Charles Brashares of Titusville, Fla.; three stepdaughters, Cherl Brooks of Findlay, Lori Christopher of Hershey, Pa., and Tabatha Puckett of Defiance; and 16 step-grandchildren.

His parents and a stepson, Gary Eugene Emmons, preceded him in death.

He was a retired cook and a retired truck driver; a past member of the Moose; and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

A memorial Mass is at 10 a.m. today in the St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank A. Murd officiating.

There is no visitation.

Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
