Ruby L. Warwick
Former Clyde homemaker

Ruby L. Warwick, 78, formerly of Duane Street, Clyde, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, in the Bellevue Care Center.

She was born Feb. 15, 1921, in Middlesboro, Ky., to Wade and Minnie (Immas) Smith. On Sept. 10, 1938, she married Edward Warwick, who died July 28, 1959.

Surviving are six sons, Carl L., James E., Tommy W. and Bobby A. Warwick, all of Clyde, Ricky L. Warwick of Fremont and Jerry Warwick of Dayton; four daughters, Peggy Black of Bellevue, Delores Collins of Clyde, Norma Dugger of Florida and Donna Carter of Green Springs; a sister, Dorothy Langford of Kentucky; 42 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a son, Billy Jo Warwick; brothers, Carl, Bill James and John; and a sister, Annie.

Mrs. Warwick was a homemaker.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Foos-Klein Funeral Home, Clyde, with the Rev. James E. Caskey officiating. Burial will be in Ellsworth cemetery, York Township.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Dessa L. Taylor
Sister of Tiffin resident

Dessa L. Taylor, 72, of Crestwood Drive, Willard, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, in the Hillside Acres Nursing Home, Willard, following a lengthy illness.

She was born Sept. 7, 1927, in Attica, to Edward and Nova B. (McKibben) Chinell. Her husband, Donald G. Taylor, also is deceased.

Survivors include: three daughters, Jacqueline Sims of Naples, Fla., Barbara Cox and Janet Tipton, both of Willard; a son, Russell Taylor of Plymouth; 15 grandchildren; a brother, John Chinell of Tiffin; and a sister, Ruth Lutz of Attica.

Also deceased are two brothers, Charles and Gail Chinell.

Mrs. Taylor, who grew up in Attica and lived most of her adult live in Willard, retired from the Hillside Acres Nursing Home, Willard.

She was a member of Women of the Moose and the American Legion Auxiliary and attended the First United Methodist Church, Willard..

The Rev. Ken Gifford will conduct the 11 a.m. Saturday service in the Secor Funeral Home, Willard.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Lung Association or the donor's choice.

Dorothy Marie Brubaker
Burgoon homemaker

Dorothy Marie Brubaker, 83, died Tuesday evening, Jan. 18, 2000, at her home at CR 12, Burgoon.

She was born in Burgoon Dec. 17, 1916, to Frank and Florence (Kelly) Cramer. On Oct. 12, 1935, in Monroe, Mich., she married Carl Brubaker. He survives.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Norma Jean Havens of Fremont and Patricia Nieset of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Joyce Feasel of Lambertville, Mich.; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Roy, and a sister, Mabel Dundore..

Mrs. Brubaker, a homemaker, was a 1934 graduate of Jackson Burgoon High School and a member of its Alumni Association.

A lifetime member of the Burgoon United Methodist Church and its former Women's Missionary, she also was a member of the Harrison Trail Farm Council, the Grandmothers Club and other clubs.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Nopper-Karlovetz Mortuary, 900 North St., Fremont, where friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today. Burial will be in Smith cemetery, Burgoon.

Memorials may be made to the church or Hospice of Memorial Hospital, Fremont.

John H. Butcher Sr.
Carey native

John H. Butcher Sr., 53, of 1441 Lebanon Road Apt. L110, Nashville, Tenn., died at 5:25 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, in the Summit Medical Center, Nashville.

He was born in Carey June 26, 1946, to the late G.W. and Mildred M. (Williams) Butcher. His wife, Joyce A. (Emerine) Butcher whom he married Nov. 27, 1965, in the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, Carey, survives.

Survivors also include: two daughters, Mrs. Douglas (Theresa L.) Hughes and Mrs. Randy (Paula M.) Luzader, both of Findlay; a son, John H. Butcher Jr., also of Findlay; and six grandchildren.

A brother, Ricky Butcher, also is deceased.

Mr. Butcher was employed as a collector for the Nashville Adjustment Bureau for the past seven years. Prior to that he worked as an insurance salesman for Western-Southern and American General Life Ins. Co. in the Carey and Findlay area for 10 years.

He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church, LeVergne, Tenn.

Pastor Stephen Marcum will be the officiant at the 2 p.m. Sunday service in the Stombaugh Memorial Funeral Home, Carey. Private burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.

Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, in care of the Stombaugh Memorial Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey, OH 43316-1169.

Hildegarde M. Sertell
Tiffin homemaker

Hildegarde M. Sertell, 84, of 15 Grammes St., died at 9:35 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, in the Emergency Care Center of Tiffin Mercy Hospital.

She was born June 20, 1915, to Nicholas and Catherine (Kinn) Reinhart. On June 27, 1945, she married Francis A. Sertell in St. Joseph Catholic Church. He survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Nicholas Sertell of Springfield; two sisters, Irma Clouse and Evelyn Del Turco, both of Tiffin; and two grandchildren, Beth and Mary Sertell.

Preceding her in death was a sister, Barbara Reinhart.

Mrs. Sertell was a 1933 graduate of Calvert High School. She was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church; Rosary Altar Society at the church; Allen Eiry Senior Center; and was a volunteer at St. Francis Home and Tiffin Mercy Hospital.

The Rev. James Say will officiate the 11 a.m. Monday service at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph cemetery.

Visitation hours will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.

The rosary recited at the church at 10:45 a.m. Monday.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Edna A. Capell
Resident of Attica

Edna A. Capell, 81, of 6074 US 224 W., Attica, died at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at Riverside Hospital, Columbus. She was born July 29, 1918, to the late William T. and Pearl (Fast) Hershiser. On Oct. 21, 1939 she married Arthur Capell. He survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Ronald A. Capell of Cary, N.C., and Lyle E. Capell of Willard; a daughter, Carol J. Capell of Grand Blanc, Mich.; a sister, Aleda Peck of Willard; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Velma Wilcox and Aura Baldosser.

Mrs. Capell was a 1936 graduate of Willard High School, a homemaker and worked many years at the Village Pastry in Willard. She was a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church, the Missionary Society of the church and the Huron County Farm Bureau.

The Rev. Stephen Holliday will officiate the 11 a.m. Saturday service at the Willard First United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Bethel cemetery, Attica.

Visitation hours are 2-4 and 7-9 tonight at the Lindsey-Kocher Funeral Home, Willard.

Memorials may be made to the Richmond United Methodist Church and/or the Mercy Hospital of Willard through the funeral home.

Marcella B. 'Sally' Gabel
Former Ole Zim's employee

Marcella B. "Sally" (Lilley) Gabel, 90, formerly of 7 W. Market St. and also of Fremont, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, in St. Francis Home.

She was born in Coldwater Aug. 20, 1909, to George and Matilda (Ahlers) Heinrichs. She married Harold "Bud" Lilley June 1, 1938. He died Feb. 7, 1964. She married Walter Gabel Feb. 16, 1974. He died March 4, 1993.

Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. George (Doris) Daniel of Sycamore, Mrs. Louis (Janet) Schwartz of Columbus; a stepson, Charles Gabel of Fremont; two stepdaughters, Mrs. John (Janet) Schueler of Bloomville and Mrs. William (Mary) Hershey of Henderson, Nev.; 10 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Clarence Heinrichs of Attica.

She follows in death an infant son, Donald Lilley; a brother, Walter Heinrichs; and a step-great-grandson, Ryan Schueler.

Mrs. Gabel was a homemaker; packaged tools at Calvan Tools in Fremont; assisted with catering; and was employed with Ole Zim's Wagon Shed in Fremont and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella at Our Lady of the Pines Circle, the Marian Society at St. Joseph Church, Fremont, St. Francis Home Auxiliary, St. Francis Villa Maria Senior Guild at Green Springs, Golden Threads at Fremont Memorial Hospital, Kiwanis Manor Senior Community Center; former active member of Fremont St. Joseph's Catholic Church and St. Michael's Catholic Church in Gibsonburg.

The funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank Murd officiating and burial following at 2 p.m. in St. Lawrence cemetery, Gibsonburg.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, where a wake service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service Monday with the rosary being recited at 10:15 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to St. Francis Home or to a favorite charity in her memory.

Anna S. Ison
Tiffin homemaker

Anna S. Ison, 81, formerly of 7 Beechwood Drive, died at 4:58 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, in the Autumnwood Care Center, where she had been a patient since April 8, 1997.

Mrs. Ison was born June 29, 1918, in Whitesburg, Ky., to Lenville and Belle (Rouark) Cornett. She married Jonah Mitchell, who died. She later married Reese Ison, who is also deceased.

Survivors include: five sons, Donald V. Mitchell, Jerry Ison and Jeff Ison of Tiffin, Dan Ison of Morristown, Tenn., and David Ison of Dayton; four daughters, Mrs. Carmel (Patricia) Hampton of Whitesburg, Ky., Mrs. Donald (Betty) Hall of Tiffin, Mrs. Willis (Wanda) Wagner of Morristown, Tenn., and Margaret Ison of Texas; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Mattie Whitaker and Mrs. Grace Cornett, both of Whitesburg, Ky., Mrs. Maude Pilkington of Gastonia, N. C., and Mrs. Ben (Jean) Allen of Florence, Ala.

She follows in death two brothers, Monroe and Kinard Cornett; and two sisters, June Fugate and Mae Gibson.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Southern Freewill Baptist Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home with the Rev. Watson Combs officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairmont cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and one hour before the service Monday.

Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Fund.

Michael Brandon Raitz
Stillborn son

Michael Brandon Raitz was stillborn at 7:13 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000. He was the son of Gerald Allen Raitz Jr. and Christi Ann (Bland) May, who both survive.

Also surviving are four brothers; two sisters; maternal grandparents, Ernest and Patricia Bland of Tiffin; and the paternal grandparents, Gerald and Charlene Raitz also of Tiffin.

Private graveside service will be today in St. Mary's cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

The Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mary E. Aldrich
Fostoria resident

Mary E. Aldrich, 78, of Park Avenue, Fostoria, died at 3:18 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, in Fostoria Community Hospital.

She was born March 7, 1921, in Shadyside to Dr. Ewing D. and Sarah (Hart) Piper. She married Oliver H. Aldrich in Fostoria April 14, 1951. He died Sept. 20, 1982.

Survivors include: two daughters, Barbra and Jane Aldrich of Charleston, S. C.; and a sister, Mrs. Carl (Eleanor) Armstrong of New Philadelphia.

She follows in death a son, Joseph Aldrich; and a brother, Miles Piper.

Mrs. Aldrich was a 1939 graduate of Shadyside high school and a 1942 graduate of The Ohio State University with a bachelor of science degree in education. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Jane Washington Chapter of the Daughters of American Revolution.

Graveside services will be conducted at Knollcrest cemetery (formerly Memory Gardens) near Arcadia at 1:30 p.m. Monday with the Rev. R. Edson Reed officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Betty J. Foos
Former nursing home co-owner

Betty J. Foos, 78, of Farnum Street, Clyde, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, in St. Francis Health Care Centre, Green Springs.

She was born Dec. 20, 1921, in Bellevue, to Clarence E. and Ilah (Heyman) Colvin. On June 22, 1956, she married Harold A. Foos, who preceded her in death July 10, 1995.

Surviving are: four sons, Tom and Terry Hansen, both of Clyde, David Foos of Fremont, and Tim Foos, also of Clyde; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Winland and Sue Gardner, both of Clyde.

A brother, Robert Colvin, also is deceased.

Mrs. Foos, a 1939 graduate of Bellevue High School, operated the former Betty's Nursing Home and was part owner of Colvin Nursing Homes Inc., both of Clyde.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Clyde, and many of its organizations including the United Methodist Women, the Afternoon Circle and the History and Records Committee.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Foos-Klein Funeral Home, Clyde, where services will be on Tuesday, with the time pending. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.

Memorials may be made to the church.
