Margaret Herlan Busch
Former Tiffin resident

Margaret Herlan Busch, 74, of Westerville, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, in Riverside Hospital.

She was born Aug. 30, 1925, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Wesley and Gertrude Herlan.

Surviving are: a sister, Mrs. Evan (Dot) Christopher; children, Fred and Eric Busch, Tayna Ramos and Myra Busch Goetz; and grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were two brothers, John and Laurice Herlan.

Mrs. Busch, who had lived in Buffalo, N.Y., most of her life and also in Logan, Tiffin, Cincinnati and Columbus, received her bachelor's degree in journalism from Ohio University in 1975.

Her flair for language showed in her writing, reading and love of games and crossword puzzles. She helped with many of her children's activities, serving as a Cub Scout leader, Girl Scout leader and Sunday school teacher.

She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts and designing jewelry.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. April 28 at the Innis House, Inniswood Metro Gardens, 940 S. Hempstead Road, Westerville.

Memorials may be made to the Inniswood Garden Society, 940 S. Hempstead Road, Westerville..

The Moreland Funeral Home, Westerville, is in charge of arrangements.

Charles J. Baker
U.S. Marine Corps, retired

Charles J. Baker, 78, died at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at his residence at 8459 CR 140, Findlay.

He was born in Toledo Dec. 8, 1921, to Earl R. and Elsie A. (Hall) Baker. On May 11, 1946, in Tiffin, he married Helen Huth. She survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Joseph M. Baker of Kissimmee, Fla., and William C. Baker of Findlay; four daughters, Gail Fisher, Diane Radabaugh and Linda Smaltz, all of Findlay, and Susan Wells of Mt. Blanchard; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A sister, Jean Knipp, is deceased.

Mr. Baker, who served as administrator of the Marlesta Nursing Home for 20 years, retired from the U.S. Marine Corps after 24 years. He served in the Korean Conflict and in Okinawa, Japan, as well as in the United States.

He was a life member of the following: Elks Club 75, Moose Lodge 698, Eagles 2118 and AMVETS Post 21.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay. Burial will be in Knollcrest at a later date.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Ann M. Wolfe
Native of Tiffin

Ann M. Wolfe, 90, of 14587 Maplewood Drive North, Largo, Fla., died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000 in the Sun Coast Hospital, Largo.

She was born in Tiffin Nov. 5, 1909, to Clase and Mary (Krupp) Ross. Her husband, Rolland E. Wolfe, whom she married Feb. 2, 1929, in Akron, died Feb. 10, 1988.

Survivors include: three nieces, two nephews and many grand nieces and nephews.

Two sisters, Hilda Reinhart and Emma Rex; and three brothers, Ralph, Paul and Harold Ross, are deceased.

Mrs. Wolfe, a member of St. Jermone Catholic Church, Largo, had been employed in accounting at the Ohio Edison Co., Akron. She moved to Largo in 1975 from Akron.

A memorial Mass will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. James K. Say as celebrant. The rosary will be recited at 12:40 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.

There will be no visitation. The Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Henry L. Luzadder Jr.
Cooper Tire employee

Henry L. Luzadder Jr., 53, of 2248 McCutchenville Road, Fostoria, died at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, in the Bowling Green Manor Nursing Home.

He was born Dec. 1, 1946, in Fostoria, to Henry L. Sr. and Glada R. (Smith) Luzadder. His mother survives in Fostoria. On June 21, 1990, in the former Bethel United Methodist Church, Fostoria, he married Dawn Watson. She survives in Fostoria.

Survivors include: a son, Jacob Luzadder at home; three daughters, Ashlee Luzadder at home, Terrie Durain of Grand Rapids, Ohio, and Denise Luzadder of Fremont; two sisters, Mrs. Douglas (Nadine) Niswander and Ellen Luzadder, both of Fostoria; and five grandchildren.

His father died in April 1984, and a sister, Sophia Luzadder, also is deceased.

Mr. Luzadder, a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam era, worked as a tire builder for Cooper Tire in Findlay. He previously had been employed at Union Carbide in Fostoria for 10 years.

Pastor Lex DeLong will be the officiant at the 10:30 a.m. Friday service in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Interment will be in Weaver cemetery, Bloom Township, where military graveside rites will be conducted by the United Veterans of Fostoria.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.

Florence A. Fosty
Long-time Fostoria resident

Florence A. Fosty, 91, of 1335 N. Union St., Fostoria, died at 10:05 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, in Fostoria Community Hospital.

She was born Aug. 29, 1908, in Alvada, to Fred and Lavina (Boes) Nye. Her husband, Willis E. Fosty, whom she married May 14, 1945, in St. Peter's Catholic Church, Alvada, survives in Fostoria.

Also surviving are her mission son, Father Fabian of Uganda; a sister, Ida Arend of Findlay; and nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were three brothers, Charles, Urban and Casper Nye; and two sisters, Susan and Leona Nye.

A homemaker, Mrs. Fosty was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and its Rosary Altar Society.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, where the rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Peter Parish cemetery, Alvada.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where the rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to St. Wendelin Schools Educational Foundation.

Winona M. Overholt
Autumnwood Center resident

Winona M. Overholt, 88, formerly of 1107 S. Sandusky Ave., Bucyrus, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, in the Autumnwood Care Center, following a brief illness.

Arrangements are pending at the Wise Funeral Service, Bucyrus.

Henry Lowry
Father of Tiffin dentist

Henry Lowry, 88, of 3379 Main St., Mineral Ridge, Ohio, formerly of Ewing Rd., Boardman, died Wednesday evening at Glenview Manor Nursing Home. He was born June 2, 1911 in Kent, Ohio to Salvatore and Theresa (Billette) Lowry. His wife, the former Carmel R. Christine, whom he married June 19, 1937, died November 2, 1993.

Survivors include: A son, Dr. Sal P. Lowry of Tiffin; two sisters, Antonette Pizzulo of Girard, and Elizabeth Candella of Austintown.

Preceding him in death were: a son, Anthony; and two brothers, Frank and Sam Lowry.

Mr. Lowry was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II receiving: The Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Unit Emblem, Euro-African-Middle Easter Campaign Medal, and The Belgian Fourragere. He retired in 1976 as a manager for Penn Ohio Towel Company, formerly Youngstown Steel Door, after 36 years. He was a member of Saint Charles Church and a member of The Boulevard Golf League and an ardent golfer.

Funeral services will be held at 12, noon, Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000 at the Fox Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Youngstown, OH, Phone (330) 788-5044.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Margaret Herlan Busch
Former Tiffin resident

Margaret Herlan Busch, 74, of Westerville, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000 at Riverside Hospital after a long fight with cancer. She was born Aug. 30, 1925 in Buffalo, N.Y.

Surviving include: a sister, Mrs. Dot Christopher; two sons, Fred Busch, and Eric Busch; two daughters, Tayna Ramos, and Myra Busch Goetz; former husband, John Busch; grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were: parents; Wesley and Gertrude Herlan; two brothers, John and Laurice Herlan.

Mrs. Busch proudly received a Bachelor's Degree in journalism from Ohio University in 1975. Her flair for language showed in her writing, reading and love of games and puzzles. She helped with many children's activities serving as Cub Scout Leader, Girl Scout Leader and Sunday School Teacher.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, April 28, 2000 in the Innis House at Inniswood Metro Gardens, 940 S. Hempstead Rd., Westerville. A memorial service will also be held at a later date in Buffalo, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Inniswood Garden Society, 940 S. Hempstead Rd., Westerville, OH. 43081. Arrangements are being handled by the Moreland Funeral Home in Westerville.

Jack Keith Hehr
General Electric Company retiree

Jack Keith Hehr, 70, of 517 N. Sandusky St., Tiffin, died at 7:48 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000 at St. Vincent Hospital, Toledo. He was born April 27, 1929 in Tiffin to Rudolph C. and Eva L. Scheidegger.

Survivors include: two brothers, Robert L. Hehr of Cincinnati, and Joseph T. Hehr of Tiffin; two nieces and two nephews; along with several great nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hehr was a 1948 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School, he attended Heidelberg College for three years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and attained the rank of Sergeant. Mr. Hehr retired in April of 1984 after 36 1/2 years at General Electric Company Tiffin. Memberships included: Trinity United Church of Christ, Upper Sandusky; Moose Lodge; VFW; Kiwanis Club and was active at the Allen Eiry Senior Citizens Center, all of Tiffin. Mr. Hehr tutored students in Spanish at his home, enjoyed raising canaries and other tropical birds.

The Rev. Cathy Wirth will officiate the Graveside Service at 12, noon, Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000 at the Old Mission cemetery, Upper Sandusky.

Bringman-Clark & Co. Funeral Home are handling the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, Upper Sandusky and/or The Seneca County Commission On Aging, c/o Bringman-Clark & Co. Funeral Home, P.O. Box 246, Upper Sandusky, OH. 43351.

Charles Ivan "Tiny" Robinson
Retired Hayes Albion Company employee

Charles Ivan "Tiny" Robinson, 77, of 80 Bobb St., Tiffin, died at 1:35 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000 at his home. He was born May 31, 1922 to Charles Henry and Minnie M. (Coolidge) Robinson. On Sept. 28, 1940 in the Second United Church of Christ he married Esther Correll, and she survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Charles J. Robinson of Tiffin, and Jeffrey J. Robinson of Findlay; four daughters, Mrs. Linda Lovitt, Ms. Pamela Brown, Ms. Doreen Allbaugh, all of Tiffin, and Mrs. Patricia Marker of St. Robert, MO.; 14 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were: four brothers, Francis, Lester, James, and Lloyd Robinson; three sisters, Alta Bird, Nina Brewer, and Lena Rittenhouse; and an infant daughter, Deborah Anne Robinson.

Mr. Robinson, a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II, attended Beaverton, Michigan schools and retired in 1986 as a tool & die setup man at Hayes-Albion Company, Tiffin, prior to that he worked as a cook at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin. His memberships included Kingdom Hall, Jehovah's Witnesses, an avid golfer, deer hunter, and fisherman, active in the Tiffin Moose Lodge in the late 1960's and early 1970's, serving as Junior Governor.

The Elder Fred Akers will officiate the funeral services to be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000 at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mexico cemetery, Mexico, Ohio, with military graveside rites by the United Veterans Council.

Visitation hours are from one hour prior to the services Saturday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Robert A. Burns
Retired National Machinery employee

Robert A. Burns, 74, of 2640 Courtly Dr., Fostoria, died at 6:13 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee. He was born Jan. 31, 1926 in Fostoria to Frank and Agnes (Weinandy) Burns. On May 6, 1951 he married Catherine M. Lonsway, she died July 9, 1981, then married Phyllis A. Teopas on June 15, 1984, and she survives in Fostoria.

Other survivors include: four daughters, Mrs. Mary Kay Lonneman of Cincinnati, Mrs. Barbara M. Decker of Tiffin, Mrs. Carol M. Gottfried of Tiffin, and Mrs. Michelle M. Cottingham of Cold Spring, KY; a stepson, Mark B. Teopas of Sylvania; a brother, James Burns of Fostoria; seven sisters, Mrs. Mary Lou Cool, Mrs. Eileen Lucious, Mrs. Betty Moes, Mrs. Phyllis Hulderman, and Mrs. Donna Altwies, all of Fostoria, Mrs. Marjorie Brentlinger of Wapakoneta, and Mrs. Theresa Karns of Bloomdale; and 11 grandchildren.

Mr. Burns retired from National Machinery, Tiffin as a machinist after 38 years employment. Memberships included: St. Wendelin Catholic Church; Quarter Century Club; Eagles Club; Moose Lodge; and Burger King Breakfast Crew, all of Fostoria and he was an avid golfer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 21, 2000 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Parish cemetery, Tiffin.

Visitation hours are from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m., Sunday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria. A Christian wake Service will be held at 8:30 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home, and a Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m., Monday at the church.

James E. Crum, Sr.
Clyde resident

James E. Crum, Sr., 73, of North Woodland Ave., Clyde, formerly of Whites Landing, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000 at Firelands Hospital. He was born Feb. 12, 1927 to an unknown Crum and Georgia Crum Petit. On Aug. 20, 1968 he married Marjorie Zitzer Young, and she survives.

Other survivors include: a son, James E. Crum, Jr. of CA.; a stepson, Nicholas E. Young, III of Clyde; a daughter, Martha Jane Butler of CA.; two brothers, Clifford Crum of Whites Landing, and Everett Crum of CA.; two half brothers, Charles Petit of Cincinnati, and Lawrence Petit of TX.; and three grandchildren.

Preceded in death were: a grandchild; three sisters, Gladys Williams, Alma Louden, and Hazel Hall; and two brothers, Walter and Adam Crum.

Mr. Crum was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WW II from Nov. 1, 1945 through May 12, 1948. He had his education in West Virginia and owned Jim and Margo's Store in Whites Landing, retiring after 23 years in 1993. He was a member of VFW in Texas.

Private family services will be held with the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home handling the arrangements. Burial will be in McPherson cemetery, Clyde.

Memorials may be made to School of Hope Sandco Industry, Fremont.

Shirley E. Lewis
Former Tiffin resident

Word has been received of the death of former Tiffin resident Shirley E. Lewis, 77, of Corunna and Winter Garden, Fla., who died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000.

She was born in Buffalo, N. Y., Oct. 20, 1922, to Lawrence J. and Esther M. (Loersch) Barry. She met her husband of 54 years, Harry W. Lewis, a Navy pilot, in Corpus Christi, Texas, and was married Aug. 29, 1946, in East Aurora, N.Y. He served as the former Seneca County executive to the Put-Han-Sen Council, Boy Scouts of America. He survives in Corunna.

Other survivors include: a son, Barry A. of Corunna; a daughter, Mrs. Dan (Gail) Shafer-Crane of Lansing; four grandchildren; and a cousin.

Mrs. Lewis served in World War II as a Navy W. A. V. E., was a life-long Episcopalian, worked as a medical records secretary for a number of years at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in Grand Rapids; and as a registrar for the Boy Scouts of America.

A memorial service was conducted Jan. 22 in Swartz Creek, Mich.
