Kenneth K. Kirchner
Brother/uncle of Tiffin residents
Kenneth K. Kirchner, 79, of 700 Coulson St., Clyde, formerly of Bellevue, died Monday, March 20, 2000, in the Bellevue Hospital.
He was born in Seneca County Aug. 25, 1920, to Ferdinand F. and Grace (Patton) Kirchner. His wife, Rose (Castrovince) Kirchner, whom he married
May 30, 1955, in Bellevue, died Aug. 19, 1997.
Survivors include: nieces and nephews, Joelle Rose of Medina, Cary Dell of Akron and Guy Dell of Tiffin; and a sister, Mrs. Joseph (Chadyne) Dell, also of Tiffin.
Mr. Kirchner formerly worked at the Sandusky Register, Stevens Printing and for A. Schulman Inc. in Bellevue.
He served as a private first class with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, 1942-46.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Bellevue, and its Men's Choir, American Legion Post 46 and the Bellevue Knights of Columbus.
A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. Robert Tucceri officiating. Burial will be in Bellevue Catholic cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Thursday at the Foos and Son Funeral Home, Bellevue, where the rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Francis A. Kern
General Electric retiree
Francis A. Kern, 68, 2666 E. TR 122, died at 2:05 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2000, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.
He was born in New Riegel June 21, 1931, to the late Anthony J. and Noreen (Lucius) Kern. On Feb. 4, 1956, in St. Joseph Church, Tiffin, he married
Mary Ann Werling. She survives.
Other survivors include: four sons, Larry J. Kern of Middleburg Heights, Kenneth J. Kern of Bowling Green, Ky., Steven F. Kern of Luckey and Ron A. Kern of Tiffin; a sister, Mary Catherine Fox of New Riegel; three brothers, Luke J. and Carl W. Kern, both of Tiffin, and Alvin L. Kern of Findlay; and six grandchildren.
A sister, Rita Ann Kern, also is deceased.
Mr. Kern, a 1949 New Riegel High School graduate, retired as a die caster from the former General Electric Co. in Tiffin.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and American Legion Post 354.
A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. James Say as celebrant. The rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior to the Mass at the church Thursday. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, where military graveside rites will be conducted by the United Veterans Council.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, where a wake service will be at 8:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, the church or Calvert High School.
Virginia L. Aurand
General Electric retiree
Virginia L. Aurand, 79, of 410 Lemert Road, Sycamore, died unexpectedly of natural causes at 8:06 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2000, in the Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus.
She was born March 12, 1921, in Wyandot County, to Homer and Winona (Larick) Markley. Her husband, Alvin E. Aurand, whom she married
July 13, 1940, died April 1, 1997.
Survivors include: a daughter, Mary Ellen Jacobs of Melmore; a son, A. James Aurand of Bloomville; four grandchildren; a brother, Daryl Markley of Bucyrus; and three sisters, Eileen Henry and Vera Stillings, both of Bucyrus and June Bowen of Mt. Gilead.
Four brothers, Robert, Lee, Ralph and Donald Markley, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Aurand, a 1939 graduate of Nevada High School, had been employed at the General Electric for more than 30 years.
She was a member of Lemert United Methodist Church, the G.E. Retirees Club and the Heartland Sewing Group.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home, Bucyrus, with the Rev. Howard Houston officiating. Interment will be in Nevada cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Ward Allen Creeger
Retired G.E. employee
Former Tiffin resident, Ward Allen Creeger, 90, died at 4:20 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2000, in St. Francis Health Care Centre, Green Springs, where he had resided for many years.
He was born in Seneca County Dec. 28, 1909, to James W. and Lydie E. (Miller) Creeger. On Sept. 19, 1934, in Tiffin, he married
Carmen Swander. She died Dec. 3, 1976.
Surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Joel (Audrey Lou) Omlor of Old Fort and Mrs. John (Carol Lynn) Cochie of Fort Worth, Texas; a son, Chris Allen Creeger of Florida; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were two step-grandchildren; five brothers, Otto, Henry, Paul, Jesse and James "Mick," and two sisters, Beulah and Cora.
Mr. Creeger, who lived his lifetime in Seneca County, retired from the General Electric Co.
A Columbian High School graduate, he had attended Tiffin Business University and was a member of Washington Street United Methodist Church, the Elks Lodge and the United Commercial Travelers.
A memorial service will be at a later date in St. Francis Health Care Centre, Green Springs.
Mr. Creeger's body has been donated to the Medical College of Ohio.
There will be no visitation. The Engle-Young Funeral Home of Green Springs is in charge of arrangements.

Joseph Anthony Reino
Native of Tiffin
Word has been received of the death of Joseph Anthony Reino, 65, of 2943 Manhatten Ave., La Cresenta, Calif., who died Tuesday, March 21, 2000, in La Cresenta.
He was born Feb. 28, 1935, in Tiffin to John and and Carmella Reino. In 1960, he married
Patricia Catalyne. She preceded him in death in 1990.
Surviving are two daughters, Donna Reino and Kathy Mainburg, both of the Los Angeles area; a granddaughter; two sisters, Maggie Schirack and Phil Colatruglio, both of Tiffin; and a brother, Sam Reino of Scottsdale, Ariz.
Two brother, Frank and Anthony Reino, also are deceased.
Mr. Reino, a 1953 graduate of Calvert High School and a graduate of Tiffin University, where he remained an active alumnus, moved to Los Angeles in 1956.
He worked for the Bank of America and also for Chicago Title Co.; owned a Shaky's Pizza franchise and eventually became the chief financial officer for United Title Insurance Co.
A memorial Mass will be at 8:30 p.m. Friday in St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, to coincide with a Mass and memorial service in the Holy Redemption Church, Montrosa, Calif.
Memorials may be made to Calvert High School, Tiffin University, the Seneca County Heart Association or the donor's choice.
Donald G. Karbler
Retired restaurant owner/operator
Donald G. Karbler, 75, who wintered in Fremont and lived in Leavenworth, Wash., died Tuesday, March 21, 2000, at his home on CR 212, Fremont.
He was born in Riley Township, Sandusky County, Nov. 19, 1924, to Glenn and Pearl (Stout) Karbler. His first wife, Lucille (West) Karbler, died July 4, 1981. On Aug. 22, 1982, he married
Janet (Haubert) Smith, who survives.
Other survivors include: two step-sons, Matthew Smith of Monroe, Mich. and Rudolph Smith of Fremont; three step-daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Teresa) Sidot of Fort Wayne, Ind., Mrs. Dennis (Laurie) Smith of Fremont and Roberta Wolf of Fort Worth, Texas; and 12 step-grandchildren.
A sister, Viola Monday, is deceased.
Mr. Karbler, who attended Riley and Fremont Schools, was the owner and operator of DJ'S Country Corner Restaurant. He retired in 1989 and left the area.
He also had been employed as a caretaker at Hassel Tippel's Marsh (now Pickeral Creek Hunting Club) and the Ottawa Hunting Club.
An avid outdoorsman, he was a member of the National Rifle Association and Lake Wenatchee Rec Club in Washington.
The Rev. Robert B. Quillen will be the officiant at the 10:30 a.m. Friday service in the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde. Interment will be in Oakwood cemetery, Fremont.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ethel May (Lowe) Bucklew
Former factory worker
Ethel May (Lowe) Bucklew, 79, of Hammer Street, Clyde, died Wednesday, March 22, 2000, in the Countryside Continuing Care Center.
She was born June 20, 1920, in Millersburg, to Clifford and Ora (Tharp) Lowe. Her husband, Harold H. Bucklew, whom she married
Oct. 1, 1937, died Feb. 6, 1981.
Survivors include: two sons, Larry and Charles Bucklew, both of Clyde; a daughter, Mrs. Marcus (Virginia) Gullett of Vickery; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Esther McGrady of Clyde, Lucille Gray of Massillon and Ruth Kline of Loudenville; and two brothers, Denver Lowe of Lake Charles, La. and Earl Lowe of Clyde.
A son, Ronald Bucklew; a granddaughter; five brothers, Alfred, Charles, Clarence, Robert and John Lowe; and two sisters, Hannah Rudy and Pauline Smith, are deceased.
Mrs. Bucklew, who attended Harvest Temple, had been employed as a laborer at the Clyde Kraut, Bendix and the Howard Zink Co.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the MItchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.
Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Harry H. Montgomery
Tiffin resident's father
Harry H. Montgomery, 72 of 7888 Fairview Road, Piqua, died at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2000, in the Upper Valley Medical Center.
He was born in Bellefontaine Nov. 25, 1927, to the late Sheldon H. and Iona (Birt) Montgomery. He married
Margaret I. Gertner Aug. 27, 1950, in Piqua. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Jeffery D. Montgomery of Fletcher; four daughters, Mrs. Cathy L. Townsend of Piqua, Mrs. Rebecca S. Kimmet of Tiffin, Mrs. Nancy C. Lussier of Oakwood, Ga., and Mrs. Kimberly A. Ramer of Piqua; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Fay Richardson of Montreal, Canada.
Preceding him in death were two sisters.
Mr. Montgomery retired Jan. 1, 1985, as an inspector for the B.F. Goodrich Co. in Troy. He was a member of the Green View United Church of Christ, the Riverside R.C. Hawks Radio Controlled Airplane Club and was an Amateur Radio Operator for 50 years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during World War II.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home, with the Rev. James M. Oates officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park, where military honors will be provided by the VFW Post 4874.
Visitation will be 5-8 tonight in the funeral home.

Ruth Leah Company
Tiffin Junior Home alumna
Ruth Leah Company, 90, of 24 Teakwood Drive, died at 12:20 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2000, at Harborside Health Care Center, Swanton. She was born Aug. 31, 1909, to Ira and Ada (Cheek) Whitfield. They died during the 1918 flu epidemic. She was raised at the Junior Home in Tiffin. On April 3, 1929, she married
Edward T. Company in St. Joseph Catholic Church. He died Dec. 2, 1989.
Survivors include: a son, Ronald Company of Vero Beach, Fla., a daughter, Mrs. Carol Murphy of Toledo; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were: a son, Thomas Company; two sisters, Alma Bach and Jean Leffler; and two brothers, Alton and Willis Whitfield.
Mrs. Company was a 1927 Junior Home Graduate and also attended Tiffin Business University. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed over 40 summers on Lake Erie with her family.
The Rev. James Say will officiate the private service. Burial will be at St. Joseph cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home of Tiffin.

Orin James Lawrence
Former area resident
Orin James Lawrence, 81, of Montgomery, Ala., formerly of Bloomville and rural Fostoria, died Sunday, March 19, 2000, in Baptist Hospital in Alabama. He was born Sept. 14, 1918, to John and Emma Edna (Bishop) Lawrence. He is survived by his first wife, Florence Evelyn Swartz, whom he married
Oct. 25, 1946.
Other survivors include: two sons, Richard and Orin James II, both of St. Cloud, Fla.; two daughters, Linda Lawrence Smith of Clearwater, Fla., and Ida Burgens of Rutledge, Ala.; three brothers, Wilbur Lawrence of Laurel Hill, Fla., John Lawrence of Clemson, N.C., and Arlo Lawrence of Winterhaven, Fla.; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were: his stepmother, Minnie E. Fulton; his second wife, Mabel E. (Ziegler) Lawrence, whom he married
June 28, 1969, and who died Sept. 23, 1998, and by a great-granddaughter, Jessica Nicole Lott.
Mr. Lawrence served in World War II as a U.S. Army sergeant in the 26th Fighter Command, in the Panama Canal Zone, and was awarded the American Theatre Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He had been employed by Shunk Mfg., Bucyrus, City Electric Dept., by Chris Banks Boat Co., both of Kissimmee, Fla., and by Dr. Garlo of Bloomville and by Leo Wilkinson of Bloomdale, both as farm renter-operator. He had retired in Kissimmee, Fla. Memberships included: Ohio State Grange; Modern Woodman of America (since 1938); Warpole Masonic Lodge, 176, of Upper Sandusky (for 60 years); and the United Church of Christ in Florida.
Memorial services will be Thursday at the Conrad Thompson Funeral Home, Kissimmee, with the Rev. Nathan Blackwell officiating.

Mary E. Craig Foor, 85, of Fostoria, died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2000, at her home. She was born April 5, 1914, to David N. and Florence (Hattery) Crist. She married
Robert Foor. He died in March 1987. Her first marriage was to Lloyd C. Craig, who died in 1982.
Survivors include: a son, Harold Craig of Fostoria; two stepsons, Ed "Bud" Foor of Fostoria and Robert Foor of Louisiana; a daughter, Lucille A. Bowsher of Harrod; a stepdaughter, Ann Ward of Fostoria; two brothers, Bill Crist of Wapakoneta and Bert Crist of Bluffton; three sisters, Ethel Thomas of Fostoria, Lova Brandenberry of Bloomdale and Jane Reier of Wapakoneta; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild; 35 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were: two sons, Dwain N. Craig and Kenneth G. Craig, and a grandchild.
Mrs. Craig Foor was a homemaker and retired production operator at Excello Co. in Fostoria, retiring in 1976. She was a member of High St. United Methodist Church in Fostoria.
The Rev. Jeffery Waite will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Monday service at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be at Knollcrest cemetery, Arcadia.
Visitation hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
