Marguerette M. Commerford
Retired waitress

Marguerette M. Commerford, 80, of 521 Brown St., Clyde, died Sunday, April 30, 2000, in Parkview Care Center, Fremont, following a long illness.

She was born March 2, 1920, in California, to Mr. and Mrs. Samuel

Card. Her husband, Ernest Commerford, preceded her in death.

Survivors include: a daughter, Sharon Elder of Clyde; a son, Frank Commerford of California; two grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Card, also of California.

Mrs. Commerford, worked as a waitress in California, retiring many years ago. She enjoyed puzzle books, sewing and making hook rugs.

Visitation is 10:30 a.m. today until time of the service at 11 a.m. today in the Foos-Klein Funeral Home, Clyde. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Aurora C. Renteria
Fostoria homemaker

Aurora C. Renteria, 79, died at 7:35 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2000, at her residence at 1290 Perrysburg Road, Fostoria.

She was born in Linares, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, May 18, 1920, to Fructoso and Manuela (Reyes) Cardenas. On June 1, 1942, in Mexico, she married Miguel Renteria Sr. He died Sept. 1, 1992.

Survivors include: five sons, Rafael Renteria of Progreso, Texas, Joe Renteria of Fostoria, Armando Renteria of Ropesville, Texas, Frank Renteria of Mission, Texas, and Mike Renteria, also of Ropesville; five daughters, Mrs. Frank (Yolanda) Cortez and Mrs. Alfredo (Maria Elisa) Perez, both of Fostoria, Guadalupe Renteria of Forestburg, Texas, Mrs. Pedro (Amalia ) Gonzalez of Relampago, Texas, and Mrs. Juan (Aurora) Lopez of Lawrenceville, Ga.; two sisters, Juanita Sepulveda and Elmina Nacianceno, both of Linares, Nuevo Leon; 37 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A grandson is deceased.

Mrs. Renteria, a resident of Fostoria for nine years, was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Progreso, Texas.

Family visitation was Tuesday in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Visitation also will take place later this week in the Hawkins Funeral Home, Weslaco, Texas, with a funeral Mass in Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Weslaco.

Memorials may be made to Bridge Hospice, in care of the Hoening Funeral Home, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, OH 44830, which is in charge of arrangements.

Mabel L. Kissling
Sister of Tiffin residents

Mabel L. Kissling, 80, of 218 W. Oakwood Ave., Bucyrus, died at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2000, at the home of her son, with whom she lived the past five years. She had been ill the past several years, but her death was unexpected.

She was born in Tiffin June 18, 1919, to John and Margaret Fretz. Her husband, Harold Kissling, whom she married March 16, 1957, died July 5, 1994.

Surviving are two sons, John S. Kissling of Bucyrus and H. Robert Kissling of New Washington; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a brother, George Fretz of Tiffin; and two sisters, Inez Frankenfield and Helen Baker, both of Tiffin

A brother, Russell Fretz, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Kissling, who had attended the Tiffin schools, cleaned houses for various families in the area and worked at several local restaurants.

Pastor Melanie H. Haack will be the officiant at the 11 a.m. Friday graveside service in Nevada cemetery.

Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Friday until time of the service at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home, Bucyrus.

Memorials may be made to the Cancer Society or the Diabetes Foundation, in care of the funeral home.

James M. "Wink" Wenzke
Former Fostoria resident

James Michael "Wink" Wenzke, 54, of Wichita Falls, Texas, died there Saturday, April 22, 2000.

He was born in Toledo Nov. 8, 1945, to Louis Edward and Eleanor (Gants) Wenzke, who survive in Fostoria. His wife, Debora (Clark) Wenzke, also survives in Wichita Falls.

Other survivors include: a son, Jason of Fostoria; two brothers, Dennis Carroll and Thomas Louis Wenzke, both of Fostoria; and a sister, Judy Ann Wenzke, also of Fostoria.

Mr. Wenzke, who worked for Don Fields Construction in Wichita Falls, had been employed as a foreman/supervisor for the former Flechtner Meat Packing Co. in Fostoria.

A 1963 graduate of St. Wendelin High School, Fostoria, he had attended St. Joseph's College in Indiana.

A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 13, in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the church.

The Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, is in charge of local arrangements.

Alfred Wesley Borowsky
Norfolk/Western Railroad machinist

Alfred Wesley Borowsky, 75, of 447 Buckingham Drive, Bellevue, died Tuesday, May 2, 2000, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.

He was born July 26, 1924, in Conneaut, Ohio, to Alfred M. and Blanche (Mansfield) Borowsky. On Oct. 20, 1956, in Angola, Ind., he married Gladys Jones. She survives.

Survivors also include: five sisters, Mrs. John (Esther) Agey of Phoenix, Ariz., M. Ruth Bailey, Mrs. Alfred (Twila) Morrison of Conneaut, Mrs. Charles (Lorraine) Rath of New Port Riche, Fla. and Alma Boser of Olean, N.Y. ; and nieces and nephews.

Mr. Borowsky had been employed as a machinist for the Norfolk and Western Railroad.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Bellevue Assembly of God Church, with Tim Davis and Pastor Hastings, co-officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn cemetery, Huron.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the Foos and Son Funeral Home, Bellevue.

Memorials may be made to the Bellevue Assembly of God Church.

Rodney Alan Breitigam
Tiffin resident's brother

Rodney Alan Breitigam, 37, of 14077 CR 26, Findlay, died late Monday afternoon, May 1, 2000, of injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident at the Intersection of CR 330 and TR 214, Findlay.

He was born March 30, 1963, in Findlay, to L. Wayne and Donna M. (Fisher) Breitigam, both survive in Findlay. His wife, Dawn (Dillon) Breitigam, whom he married Dec. 15, 1984, survives.

Other survivors include: a daughter, Feather and two sons, Joshuah and Marcus, all at home; a brother, Roby Alan Breitigam of Findlay; a sister, Mrs. Jason (Robin) Heaster of Tiffin; and his paternal grandfather, Ralph E. Breitigam of Findlay.

Mr. Breitigam, a journeyman millwright since 1992 at Honeywell in Fostoria (formerly Allied Signal), had also been an apprenticed millwright under this father at Whirlpool, where he also once worked.

He was a member of Fostoria Moose Lodge, Arlington Band Parents, Arlington S.S.O.; SoHanCo Sportsmen Club, U.C.O.A., life member of the NRA; Turkey Hunters Group, Ottawa Harley Davidson Owners Group, where he was a life member; National Harley Davidson Owners Group, U.A.W. Local 533, where he was a current committeeman and past skilled trades representative.

He also served as a former Allen Township Volunteer Fireman; as a softball coach of Arlington's Young Miss Softball Black Team; as a 4-H adviser and as a certified ODNR hunting instructor..

A 1981 Findlay High School graduate, he was a state finalist in carpentry trades in Vocational/Industrial Trade competition.

He also was a member of Parkview Church of Christ, where he assisted in construction of the new church; was a life member of the North American Hunting Club and was the recipient of a blue belt in Tae Kwon Do.

The Rev. Mark Snavely will be the officiant at the 1 p.m. Friday service in the Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, Findlay. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, near Arcadia.

Visitation will be 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday until time of the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Breitigam Children's Fund, in care of the Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Ave., Findlay, OH 45840.

Donald E. Best
Webster Industries employee

Donald E. Best, 46, of 4361 W CR 52, died Tuesday morning, May 2, 2000.

He was born to Paul E. and Marilyn (Harlett) Best April 27, 1954, in Tiffin. He married Debra A. Brose May 25, 1979, in Tiffin.

Survivors include: his mother of Tiffin; his wife; two sons, Christopher P. and Joshua D., both at home; a brother, John D. of Tiffin; and a sister, Mrs. Frederick (Mary) Schleter of Tiffin.

Mr. Best was a pattern maker at Webster Industries Inc. and a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church.

The rosary will be recited at 10:15 a.m. followed by the funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank A. Murd officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Friday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to his children, or masses, or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Carol Jean Adams
Planning Commission secretary

Carol Jean Adams, 65, of Ocala, Fla., and formerly of Bloomville and Lagrange, Ind., died at 3:58 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2000, in Munroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala, Fla.

She was born Jan. 13, 1935, in Tiffin, to Clifford Dornan and Marjorie C. (Hyter) Heckerd. On Nov. 6, 1954, she married William F. Adams. He survives.

Also surviving are: a son, Rick of Ocala, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Jim (Cindy) Haman of Tiffin; three grandchildren; and a sister, Jane Koselke of Lenexa, Kan.

Her parents and a son, Kris, are deceased.

Mrs. Adams was a 1952 graduate of Old Fort High School; secretary for Lagrange, Indiana's Planning Commission; of the Protestant faith; a member of the Eastern Star, Bloomville, and the American Legion Auxiliary, Tiffin.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home with the Rev. William Smith officiating and burial in Pleasant View cemetery, Sycamore.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Northwestern Ohio; or to the American Diabetes Association, Northwest Ohio Service Area.

Otto "Gordy" Hensinger
Bellevue resident

Otto "Gordy" Hensinger, 77, of 224 Lyme St., Bellevue, died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, in the Bellevue Hospital.

He was born April 14, 1923, in West Lodi, to Otto K. and Edith "Ferne" (Zehring) Hensinger. He married Mary Straub June 27, 1980, at Republic.

Survivors include: his wife; his first wife, Wanda L. Bohlin of Tiffin; a son, David Hensinger of Tiffin; three daughters, Mrs. Jim (Sandra) Schleter and Sue Story of Tiffin, Mrs. Mike (Cheryl) Hammond of Flat Woods, Ky.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Ray (Lorna) Buie of Bellevue; 11 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dean Hensinger of Bellevue and Tom Hensinger of Oklahoma; five sisters, Mrs. Bob (Sharon) Sours and Margene Hensinger of Bellevue; Mrs. Tom (Ilona) Churchill of Green Springs, Pat Trumpower of West Lodi, and Gwen McGuckin of Wellington.

His father and a sister, Dona White, preceded him in death.

He served in the Army and retired from Erie Suppliers of Bellevue.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Foos and Son Funeral Home, Bellevue, with the Rev. Henry Seibert officiating. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens, Tiffin.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, American Lung Association, or Seneca County Humane Society.

Herman F. Fisher
Former Tiffin resident

Word has been received that Herman F. Fisher of St. Louis, Mo., and formerly of Tiffin, died Wednesday, May 3, 2000.

He was born Oct. 27, 1899, to Francis X. "Frank" and Mary (Herman) Fisher. He married Mary Nolan of St. Louis. She died in 1997.

Surviving are three sisters, Lydwin Fisher of St. Francis Home, Tiffin, Mrs. Leslie (Justine) Tallmedge of Los Angeles and Mrs. Richard (Grace) Bush of Sun City West, Ariz.

Preceding him in death were a brother, Henry Fisher; and two sisters, Beatrice Fisher and Genievieve Fisher.

Mr. Fisher retired from the U.S. Army as a captain, having served during World War II, and was employed by the Standard Oil Co. in Tiffin.

Memorial services will be at a later date.

Shirley Ann Hay
Lifetime Willard resident

Shirley Ann Hay, 63, of Townline Road 12, Willard, died Monday, May 1, 2000, at the St. Vincent Hospital.

She was born Jan. 14, 1937, in St. Stephens, to Clem and Eleanor (Schriner) Steinmetz. She married Frederic Hay April 26, 1958. He survives.

Also surviving are: a son, Ken Hay of Attica; three daughters, Shelly Marrone of Wichita, Kan., Becky Miller and Renee Bridgford of Attica; six grandchildren; two brothers, Neal Steinmetz and Bob Steinmetz, both of Willard; six sisters, Germaine Stevens, Irene Hershiser and Joanne Steinmetz, all of Willard, Helen Beamer of Bellevue, Esther Postema and Mary Gross of Shelby.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, George "Sonny" and Don Steinmetz.

She was Team Leader of Environmental Service at Mercy Hospital in Willard and a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Willard.

The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Willard, with the Rev. Melvin Verhoff officiating.

Visitation will be 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Secor Funeral Home, 202 W. Maple St., Willard, where a prayer service will be at 8:45.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
