Annabelle Mae Ulrich
Harpster homemaker

Annabelle Mae Ulrich, 74, died at about 8 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2000, at her residence at 17238 Beckett Drive, Harpster.

She was born in Wyandot County, April 2, 1926, to Robert J. and Mabel A. (Carpenter) Feeley. On June 16, 1946, in the Trinity United Methodist Church, Upper Sandusky, she married Donald F. Ulrich, who survives.

Other survivors include: a son, David E. Ulrich of Eaton, Colo.; a daughter, Rebecca Hemchak of Bellevue; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Donald (Rachel) Miller of Findlay.

A granddaughter, Daleen, is deceased.

Mrs. Ulrich, a homemaker, also assisted her husband in farming.

She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Marion; a volunteer for the American Red Cross at the hospital and a culinary judge at the fair.

Her hobbies included reading, interior decorating, flowers and baking.

Pastor Weston Jones will be the officiant at the 11 a.m. Friday service in the Bringman-Clark and Company Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky. Burial will be in Old Mission cemetery, Upper Sandusky.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the church or a charity of the donor's choice.

Sue E. Ruehle
Sister of Tiffin area residents

Sue E. Ruehle, 58, of 402 Southwood Drive, Elyria, formerly of Seneca County, died at 9:37 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2000, in the Cleveland Clinic.

She was born in Seneca County, Jan. 1, 1942, to Claude C. and Helen (Cramer) Taylor. Her mother survives in rural Tiffin. Her husband, Darl D. Ruehle, whom she married May 26, 1962, survives.

Survivors also include: two sons, John D. Ruehle of Cabot, Ark. and Gregory D. Ruehle of Plano, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Omar (Jennifer) Nieves of Elyria; six grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Jane Roberts, Mrs. Ralph (Jean) Kieffer and Mrs. Burdette (Ruth) Schneider, all of the Tiffin area.

Preceding her in death were her father, who died July 21, 1995; a daughter, Sandra Sue Ruehle; and a son, Bryan Taylor Ruehle.

A homemaker, Mrs. Ruehle, also worked 12 years in the Midview High School cafeteria, Grafton.

She enjoyed reading, baking and babysitting grandchildren and doing volunteer work at local hospitals.

A 1959 Mohawk High School graduate, she was a member of LaPorte United Methodist Church, Elyria. She also attended Columbus Business College.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore. Burial will be in Rock Creek cemetery, Seneca County.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

A memorial service also will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday in LaPorte United Methodist Church, Elyria.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or a charity of the donor's choice.

Robert G. 'Bob' Franks
Cooper Tire/Rubber employee

Robert G. "Bob" Franks, 40, died at 6:10 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at his home on Webster Street.

He was born in Bellevue Nov.9, 1959, to Robert H. Franks and Rosella A. (Springer) Kiesel. His mother and stepfather, Thomas D. Kiesel, survive in Tiffin.

Other survivors include: his fiance, Lois Digby; two children, Robert "Bobby" and Megan S. Franks, both of Wurzburg, Germany; and four sisters, Mrs. Steven (Peggy) Kammeyer of Defiance, Mrs. David (Brenda) Dotson of Tiffin, Barbie Jo McDonald of Lawrenceville, Ga., and and Deb Franks of Fremont.

His father is deceased.

A 1978 graduate of Columbian High School, Mr. Franks was employed in maintenance at Cooper Tire and Rubber Co.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in St. Paul's United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Gail Angel officiating.

Memorials may be made to his children's college fund.

Robert G. 'Bob' Franks

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul's United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Gail Angel officiating, for Robert G. "Bob" Franks, 40, who died at 6:10 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at his home on Webster Street.

Memorials may be made to his children's college fund.

Gretchen M. Lusk
Fostoria homemaker

Gretchen M. Lusk, 97, of Nichols Street, Fostoria, died at 12:07 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2000, in the Fostoria Community Hospital.

She was born in Gilboa Oct. 21, 1902, to Ora and Louisa (Burton) Ulrich. In 1921, she married Lee M. Lusk. He died Feb. 22, 1968.

Survivors include: three daughters, Mrs. Harold (June) Pelton of Fostoria, Mrs. Louis (Audrey) Kimmet of Republic and Mrs. Harry (Margie) Slayter of Findlay; a sister, Marciene Ball of Spencerville; 20 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were a son, Dale L. Lusk; two brothers, Virgil and Don Ulrich; two sisters, Dorothy Pickens and Alta Mahoney; and a great-grandchild, Regina Pelton.

A homemaker, Mrs. Lusk enjoyed crocheting, gardening and flowers.

The Rev. Edmond Zickefoos will be the officiant at the 1:30 p.m. Friday service in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in Knollcrest cemetery, near Arcadia.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Alberta A. Bishop
Green Springs homemaker

Alberta A. Bishop, 71, of 213 W. Perry St., Green Springs, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, in Memorial Hospital, Fremont.

She was born Nov. 24, 1928, in Mt. Ayr, Iowa, to Edward and Edna Wood. Her husband, Robert J. Bishop Sr., whom she married Nov. 26, 1947, in Iowa, survives in Green Springs.

Survivors also include: a son, Robert J. Bishop Jr. of Clyde; two daughters, Linda Benfer of Sycamore and Dorothy Camarata of Fremont; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a brother, Ronald Wood of Iowa; a sister, Erma Harris of Kellerton, Iowa; and four half brothers.

Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Shirley and Pauline.

Mrs. Bishop, a former member of the Green Springs Fire Department Auxiliary, was a member of Green Springs United Methodist Church and Green Springs American Legion Post 295 Ladies Auxiliary, of which she was past president.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Foos-Klein Funeral Home, Clyde. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Clyde E. Wickman
Long-time Excello employee

Clyde E. Wickman, 73, of 25 Christopher Drive, Fostoria, died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2000, in the Fostoria Community Hospital.

He was born April 4, 1927, in Hancock County, to Ray A. and Mabel M. (Basel) Wickman. His first wife, Marjorie (Hockenberger) Wickman, died in 1984. He later married Dolores Jones, who survives in Fostoria.

Other survivors include: a daughter, Loretta Wickman of Michigan; a son, Kenneth Wickman of Mesa, Ariz.; and a sister, Mrs. Marion (Wilma) Sherman of Fostoria.

Mr. Wickman, a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, had been employed at the Excello (Airfoil Textron) in Fostoria, for more than 30 years.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in Graham cemetery, Wayne.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where a Christian wake service will be at 8:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Wayne Rickle
Rural McCutchenville resident

Wayne Rickle, 64, of 1419 SH 53 North, McCutchenville, died at 4 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2000, in Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky. Arrangements are pending at the Walton Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore.

Frank W. Linder
Former Bellevue resident

Frank W. Linder, 73, of Norwalk, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at his home after a long illness. He was born March 2, 1927, in Milan to Edwin and Victoria (Long) Linder. He married Agnes L. Phillips Nov. 5, 1949, in Bellevue. She survives.

Other survivors include: six sons, Andrew F., Steven J., and Edwin C. Linder, all of Norwalk, Allen R. Linder of Milan, Gerald E. Linder of Collins, and Marvin J. Linder of Wakeman; four daughters, Linda Lou Huey and Tina Marie Davidson, both of Norwalk, Victoria Rose Zipfel of Louisville, Ky., and Rita Ann Linder of Norwalk; a sister, Viola Englert of Norwalk; 22 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were twin sons, Charles and Martin Linder, and two brothers, Robert and John Linder.

Friends will be received 9-10:30 a.m. today at the family residence, 1547 Old State Road, Norwalk, where the body will lie in state. The Mass of Christian Burial will beat 11 a.m. Friday at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, Peru Twp., the Rev. Nelson Beaver, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Foos-Klein Funeral Home, Clyde is in charge of the arrangements.

Lola Fling
Fremont resident

Lola Fling, 81, of 1685 Countryside Drive, Fremont, died at the Countryside Continuing Care Center, Fremont, at 12:10 a.m., Thursday, May 18, 2000. She was born May 4, 1919 to Joel and Cora (Hatley) Hartsell. On Feb. 19, 1944 she married Gerald W. Fling. He died Aug. 13, 1991.

Survivors include: two daughters, Brenda K. Fling and Rhea K. Martin, both of Fremont; a sister, Vassie Cranford of North Carolina; three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Grover and Cletus Hartsell, and two sisters, Arlene Hartsell and Faye Smith.

Mrs. Fling is a 1937 graduate of Oakboro High School, Oakboro, N.C. She worked in sales for 10 years at Kaminsky Jewelers, and was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Fostoria.

The funeral will be private, with no visitation. Burial will be at Knollcrest cemetery, Arcadia.

The Mann-Hare Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Grace United Church of Christ or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Earl Richard Smyser
Retired Basic employee

Earl Richard Smyser, 84, of 411 Kansas St., Green Springs, died at 3:32 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2000, in Fremont Memorial Hospital. He was born May 12, 1916, to George W. and Carrie (May) Smyser. On Oct. 3, 1959, he married Cora M. (Shiley) Selvey. She is deceased.

Surviving are two sons, Stanley Selvey and Sanford Selvey, both of Green Springs; a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Burns of Tiffin; a brother, Kenneth Smyser of Tiffin; two sisters, Rena Marie Durst of Clyde and Lois Delene Kinsworthy of Monroe; 35 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four sons, Manley, Robert, Harold and Richard Selvey; a brother, George W. Smyser Jr.; and two sisters, Ilda and Zella Smyser.

Mr. Smyser was a graduate of J.O.U.A.M. class of 1934 and retired from Basic Co., Maple Grove. He is a veteran, having served during World War II in the Middle East. He is a member of Green Springs VFW 6067; Green Springs American Legion 295; and Basic Quarter Century Club.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Engle-Young Funeral Home, Green Springs. Burial will be at Green Springs cemetery.

Military graveside services will be conducted by the Green Springs veterans.

Visitation hours are 2-4 and 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Green Springs EMS or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Wayne L. Rickle
McCutchenville resident

Wayne L. Rickle, 64, of 1419 SR 53 N., Mccutchenville, died at 4 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. He was born May 27, 1935, to Lee E. and Florence (Farthing) Rickle, both deceased. On Dec. 27, 1953 he married Ilah M. Barth. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Jeffrey W. Rickle of Upper Sandusky; a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Payne of McCutchenville; two brothers, Leonard Rickle of Findlay and Billy Rickle of Wharton; three sisters, Mrs. Treva Bakies of Carey, Mrs. Bernita Runion of Tiffin and Mrs. Betty Bardon of Chicago, Ill.; and two grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were five brothers.

Mr. Rickle was a 1953 graduate of Wharton High School and former manager of U.S. Commission Co., McCutchenville, for 17 years. He was a farmer and former owner of Rickle Trucking Co., and worked for 10 years at Guardian Industries. His church affiliation was protestant. He raised and raced standardbred race horses. He was a member of Upper Sandusky Elks Lodge 83, Tiffin Moose Lodge 846 and Tiffin Eagles Aerie 402.

The Rev. Roy Howell will officiate the 2 p.m. Sunday funeral at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore. Burial will be at Bethel cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Wyandot County Cancer Society and/or Wyandot County Heart Support Group or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Elma L. Hahn
Tiffin homemaker

Elma L. Hahn, 93, of 51 St. Clair St., Tiffin, died at 2:40 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2000, at Autumnwood Care Center. She was born Nov. 28, 1906, to Charles and Catherine (Biehler) Beck. On Aug. 17, 1929, she married Harold W. Hahn. He died June 13, 1989.

Surviving are nieces and nephews: M. Blair Alsip and Miriam Frankart, both of Tiffin, Barbara Dryfuse of Republic; and many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Arlington Beck; three sisters, Mabel Beck, Mary Beck Alsip and Catherine Beck.

Mrs. Hahn was a 1926 Columbian High School graduate, she was a homemaker and member of Trinity United Church of Christ.

Deacon William Fahrenbruck will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Saturday services at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home. Burial will be at Greenlawn cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ or to the charity of the donor's choice.
