Ralph G. Fuller
Junior Home alumnus

Word has been received of the death of Ralph G. Fuller, 87, on July 15, 2000, in Ravenna.

He was born Dec. 19, 1912, in Springfield to Henry G. and Anna P. (Jacobs) Fuller. He married Edna E. (Campbell) Searl of Tiffin. She died in 1985.

He is survived by: a son, Ronald Fuller of Streetsboro; two daughters, Constance of Ravenna and Joan Getty of Camp Hill, Pa.; a stepdaughter Donna Neifer of Republic; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.

A brother and two grandchildren preceded him in death.

Mr. Fuller was raised in the Tiffin Junior Home and retired from the Streetsboro school system in 1989.

Services were July 20 at the Wood-Kartright Funeral Home Chapel in Ravenna with the Rev. Steve Chapman officiating.

Donovan Paul Williams
Former Tiffin resident

Donovan Paul Williams, 82, formerly of Tiffin, died July 19, 2000, in Venice, Fla.

He was born Sept. 15, 1917, in Crooksville and moved to Florida in 1978 after serving 30 years as owner/operator of a Tiffin landmark, Club 224. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Venice.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth (Logsdon) Williams; three sons; six daughters; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial Mass was July 31 and a Mass for his Intention will take place at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 26 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tiffin.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Boulevard, Sarasota, FL 34238. His body was donated to medical science research.

John O. Perin
Green Springs native

John O. Perin, 60, of Akron, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000.

He was born June 19,1940, in Green Springs, to Robert and Genevieve (Dietzel) Perin. His mother survives.

Other survivors include his wife of 39 years, Lilah Perin; a daughter, Debbie Badgett; a son, Troy Perin; a brother, James T. Perin; and a niece.

Mr. Perin was employed by the Akron Legal News.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron. Interment will be in Green Springs.

Further arrangements are pending at the Engle Young Funeral Home of Green Springs.

Lilyan Rosenblatt
Former Toledo resident

Lilyan Rosenblatt of Waterford, formerly of Toledo, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000.

Her husband, Alton Rosenblatt, is deceased.

Survivors include: a son, Stan Rosenblatt; three grandchildren; and an aunt.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the Ira Kaufman Chapel, 18325 W. Nine MIle Road, Southfield, Mich. Interment will be in Beth Shalom cemetery-B'nai Israel Section at 1:45 p.m. Monday.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.

Coy Ison
Whirlpool Corp. retiree

Coy Ison, 88, died at 4:20 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, in the Autumnwood Care Center, where he had been a resident since July 14.

He was born March 18, 1912, in Isom-Letcher County, Ky., to William and Dessie (Combs) Ison. On Dec. 21, 1949, in Big Cove, Ky., he married Hama Combs. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Emery "Lee" Ison of Toledo; a grandson; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Sallie Charles and Euna Johnson, both of Medina, and Lola Lettiere of Allentown, Pa.

He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Elisha and Denver Ison; and three sisters, Callie Breeding, Estevah Quillen and Edna McIntosh.

Mr. Ison, a member of the Baptist church, retired from Whirlpool Corp., where he had been employed in the millroom.

The Rev. William "Watson" Combs will be the officiant at the 10:30 a.m. Tuesday service in the Turner Engle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund.

John D. Perin
Computer operator

John D. Perin, 60, of Akron, where he had lived for many years, died at 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, in Summit County, Akron.

He was born June 19, 1940, in Green Springs, to Robert L. and Genevieve (Dietzel) Perin. His mother survives in Green Springs. On May 20, 1961, in West Salem, Ohio, he married Lilah Anne Connelly. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Troy Perin of Akron; a daughter, Debbie Badgett, also of Akron; a niece; and a brother, James T. Perin of Cleveland.

His father is deceased.

Mr. Perin, a 1958 graduate of Green Springs High School, had been employed as a computer operator for the Akron Legal News for many years.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Engle-Young Funeral Home of Green Springs. Burial will be in Green Springs cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour before the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation.

Samuel N. Sager
Basic Retiree

Samuel N. Sager, 88, 89 W. TR 1020, died at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin, where he had been a patient for a day.

He was born Nov. 23, 1911, in Conicville, Va., to Daniel and Nettie (Mumaw) Sager.

His wife, Pauline L. (Rau) Sager, whom he married Dec. 26, 1932, in Tiffin, died Nov. 22, 1999.

Survivors include: two sons, Samuel II and Melvin Sager, both of Tiffin; two daughters, Mrs.Janet Meisner and Mrs. Harold (Grace) Smith, both of Tiffin; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Guy Sager of Fremont.

Also preceding him in death were three children, Charles, Daniel David and Doris Louise Sager; and two sisters, Mrs. Grace Funkhauser and Mrs. Louise Henderson.

Mr. Sager, a memer of the Methodist Church, retired from the Basic, where he had been employed for 32 years. He also worked for the Nickle Plate Railroad and was a buyer and seller of furs.

The Rev. Gary Halstead will be the officiant at the 11 a.m. Wednesday graveside service in Pleasant Union cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour before the service Wednesday in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Kathleen A. (Beisner) Rex
Sister of Tiffin resident

Word has been received of the death of Kathleen Alice (Beisner) Rex, 86, who died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at her home in West Bloomfield, Mich.

She was born Oct. 7, 1913, in Mannington, W.Va., to Henry S. and Matilda Beisner. In 1940, she married Willard Rex, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include a sister, Marie Shepherd of Cleveland; a brother, Edward Beisner of Tiffin; 11 nieces and nephews; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Margaret Brighton and Tillie Mae Shepherd; two brothers, Henry D. and Howard W. Beisner; and a nephew.

An avid golfer and bingo player, Mrs. Rex spend her winters in Florida.

The family moved to Tiffin in 1915 and she graduated in 1931 from Tiffin Columbian High School.

Marcus M. 'Mark' Schlachter
Schlachter Garage co-owner

Marcus M. "Mark" Schlachter, 92, formerly of Carey, died at 6:45 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, in the Wyandot Manor, Upper Sandusky, where he resided.

He was born Nov. 22, 1907, in Big Spring Township, Seneca County, to William and Lucy (Poppenberg) Schlachter. His wife, Emma Etta (Orians) Schlachter, whom he married Dec. 1, 1927, in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Elyria, died Jan. 4, 1991.

Surviving are: three daughters, Mrs. James (Peggy) Myers, Mrs. Marilyn Orians and Mrs. Erlene Orians, all of Carey; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Three brothers, Alfred, Virgil and Joseph Schlachter; two grandsons; and three sisters, Olivia Metzger, Hilda Schlachter and his twin, Mercedes Thiel, also are deceased.

Mr. Schlachter, the co-owner of Schlachter Garage in rural New Riegel, retired in 1982.

He was a member of the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, Carey; Catholic Knights of Ohio Branch 52, New Riegel; National Riflemen's Association and bowling leagues in Carey and Upper Sandusky.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, with the Rev. Tom Orians S.A., officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Carey.

Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, where a Christian wake service will be at 8:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wyandot County, Franciscan Mission Association or Our Lady of Consolation School, in care of the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey, OH 43316-1169.

Sue E. Riley
Crescent Mfg. Co. employee

Sue E. Riley, 56, of 314 Clay St., Green Springs, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at her residence.

She was born May 4, 1944, in Tiffin, to Frank W. and Esther (Shook) RIley. Her mother survives in Bloomville.

Other survivors include: two brothers, James E. Riley of Naperville, Ill. and John D. Riley of Kingsport, Tenn.; and four nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Ms. Riley, a denial technician, was employed at Crescent Mfg. Co. in Fremont.

She was a member of Bloomville United Church of Christ, Ladies of the Moose 809, Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the UAW.

Memorial services took place Monday evening in the Foos-Klein Funeral Home, Clyde, with the Rev. David Cult officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Bloomville.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Memorial Hospital, the church or a charity of the donor's choice.

Aileen Roberta Amos
Former restaurant owner

Aileen Roberta Amos, 85, formerly of Limerick Road and West Maple Street, Clyde, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, in the Elmwood Nursing Home, Green Springs.

She was born Sept. 9, 1914, in Fremont, to John and Anne (Haley) Wurzel. She first married Arthur Thomas and he preceded her in death. She later married Donald Amos, who also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: a son, Charles Thomas of Clyde; two daughters, Marna Barto of Old Fort and Doris West of Tiffin; a sister, Florence Wasserman of Fremont; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Anne; two brothers, Charles and Robert Wurzel; and two sisters, Margaretta Hall and Helen Williams.

Mrs. Amos owned and operated the former Aileen's Restaurant on South Main Street in Clyde for many years.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the Foos-Klein Funeral Home, Clyde, where services will be at 10 a.m. Friday. Deacon William Ulmer will officiate. Burial will be in Bellevue cemetery.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Betty Wilson
Teacher's aide/crossing guard

Betty Wilson, 70, of West Street, New Haven, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, at her residence, following a long illness.

She was born July 6, 1930, in Bucyrus, to the late Jason O. and Gladys May (Wilson) Cress. On Nov. 16, 1952, in Bucyrus, she married Charles E. Wilson, who survives in New Haven.

Survivors also include: four sons, Roger A. and James D. Wilson, both of Willard and Thomas A. and Glen C. Wilson, both of New Haven; a daughter, Ruth A. Allen of Willard; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild; three brothers, her twin brother, William F. Cress of Mansfield and Jack L. and Ronald J. Cress, both of Bucyrus; and four sisters, Ionamay Tennent of Ashley, Ohio, Dorothy Wilson of Willard, Mary Cress of Bucyrus and Virginia Knecht of Port Clinton.

A granddaughter, Amy Lee Only, died in 1993.

Mrs. Wilson, a teacher's aide and a crossing guard for seven years, enjoyed flowers.

She was a member of New Haven United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women; the Sunshine Club, Live Wire Club and Farm Women, all of New Haven.

Services will be at 11 am. Wednesday in the New Haven United Methodist Church, where the body will lie in state after 10 a.m.. Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery, New Haven.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in the Lindsey-Kocher Funeral Service, Willard.

Memorials may be made to New Haven United Methodist Church for handicapped access.
