B. Margarite Staib
Former Tiffin resident

B. Margarite Staib, 89, of 1776 Drew Ave., Columbus, formerly of Tiffin, died at 10:32 a.m. Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, in Beverly Health and Rehabilitation, Columbus.

She was born Feb. 25, 1911, in Findlay, to Alva P. and Rose E. (Thornton) Wisebaker. Her husband, Richard N. Staib, whom she married Oct. 16, 1937, in St. Mary Catholic Church, died July 11, 1981.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Carol) Eichner and Mrs. William (Virginia) Harrison, both of Columbus; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A brother, Marshall Wisebaker; and an infant sister, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Staib, a 1929 graduate of Columbian High School, retired as a sales clerk from the S.S. Kresge Co., Tiffin, after 30 years of employment.

A former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin and a former St. Joseph Girl Scout leader, she was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Columbus and St. Joseph Rosary Altar Society.

The Rev. James Say will be the celebrant at the 11 a.m. Thursday funeral Mass in St .Joseph Catholic Church. The rosary will be recited at the church at 10:45 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today in the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.

LaVon C. Albert
Former resident of Tiffin

Former Tiffin resident, LaVon C. Albert, 65, of Scottsdale, Ariz., died unexpectedly Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, in Dayton.

Her husband, Louis W. Albert, preceded her in death in 1983.

Surviving are her six children, Timothy D. Albert of Las Vegas, Nev., Renee A. Parker of Chester, S.C., Teresa M. Golik of Andover, Kan., John C. Albert of Mason, Ohio, Michelle D. Brickner of Ashland, Mass. and Denise A. Brown of Centerville, Ohio; and eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Albert was a member of Saint Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Scottsdale.

A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Chapel of the Incarnation Parish Center, Centerville.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to Saint Goretti Health Care Ministry, 6261 N. Granite Reef Rd., Scottsdale, Ariz., 85250.

The Tobias Funeral Home, Far Hills Chapel, Dayton, is in charge of arrangements.

Eldon R. Folk
Former Seneca Wire employee

Eldon R. Folk, 68, of 1231 Perrysburg Road, Fostoria, died at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, in Heartland of Holly Glen, Toledo.

He was born April 12, 1932, in Fostoria, to the late Howard and Evelyn (Cole) Folk.

Surviving are three sons, Robert J. and Michael E. Folk of Bloomdale and James R. Folk of Rudolph; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

A brother, Vernon "Whitey" Folk, also is deceased.

A member of Eagles 430, AmVets 69 and VFW 421, Mr. Folk had worked at Seneca Wire in Fostoria for 15 years.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, with the Rev. Robert Carpenter officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to a local Hospice organization or the American Cancer Society.

Craig A. Young
Self-employed logger

Craig A. Young, 38, 1300 W. CR 6, died at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, in a woods north of Carey in a logging accident.

He was born May 2, 1962, in Tiffin, to Charles A. and Marilyn J. (Chandler) Young. They survive in rural Sycamore. On Oct. 31,1987, he married Norma (Cornett) Young, who also survives.

Other survivors include: three stepchildren, Jerry Cornett of Whitesburg, Ky., Mr. Tracy Thomas of Marion and Mrs. Kevin (Rhonda) Chapman of Marysville; six step-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Joyce) Weaver of rural Tiffin and Mrs. Steve (Joann) Riedlinger of rural Sycamore.

A brother, Lynn A. Young, died in 1965. A step-grandson also is deceased..

Mr. Young, a self-employed logger, was a member of the Protestant faith and Tiffin Eagles.

He graduated in 1980 from Mohawk High School.

The Rev. Kelly Paul Brown will be the officiant at the 10 a.m. Friday service in the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore. Interment will be in Pleasant View cemetery, Sycamore.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to his family, in care of the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, 201 W. Staffel Ave., Sycamore, OH 44882-0356.

Bernard M. Seel
Retired Seneca Wire supervisor

Bernard M. Seel, 79, died at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at his home on Elwood Avenue, Fostoria.

He was born Aug. 7, 1921, in Henry County, to Monroe and Ethel (Rose) Seel. He first married Joan Powell in 1942. They were divorced. He married Helen "Joyce" Stoner April 6, 1974, in Monroe, Mich. She survives in Fostoria.

Survivors also include: two sons, Bernard "Kris" Seel Jr. of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Douglas Seel of Fostoria; two daughters, Mrs. Gene (Gloria) Peluso and Mrs. Kyle (Cheryl) Young, both of Fostoria; a stepson, David Stoner of Stryker; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Steve (Deb) Holman of Fostoria and Cathy Stoner of Mesa, Ariz.; two brothers, David and Herman Seel, both of Kissimmee, Fla.; 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.

Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Norman, Vernon and Harold Seel, and a grandson.

Mr. Seel, a 1940 graduate of Arcadia High School, retired in 1986 as a supervisor from the Seneca Wire in Fostoria, where he had been employed for 39 years.

A World War II U.S. Army veteran and a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star, he was a member of VFW Post 421 and American Legion Post 73, both of Fostoria.

The Rev. Donald Goodwin will conduct the 10 a.m. Saturday service in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria, where military honors will be conducted at the graveside by the Joint Veterans Group of Fostoria.

Visitation will be 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

Gerald H. Cox
Retired electrician

Gerald H. Cox, 69, of Sinclair Street, Bellevue, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, in the Bellevue Hospital.

He was born Oct. 29, 1931, in Ironton, to the late Floyd and Minerva (Eagle) Cox. On Nov. 17, 1956, he married Martha Polack. She survives.

Other survivors include: his children, Gloria Canode and Jim Hatlay, both of Bellevue, Mrs. Larry (Debra) Allen of Texas, Gerald Patrick Cox, Brenda Homer, Mrs. Robert (Louise) Gonzales, Mrs. Mark (Christine) Missler and Mrs. Jeff (Florence) Jones, all also of Bellevue; two brothers, Bill Cox of Ashland and Ellis Cox of West Virginia; 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, Gene and Robert Cox, and a sister, Charolette Cox, preceded him in death.

Mr. Cox, who retired in 1973, had been employed as an electrician for the N & W Railroad and formerly at US Steel.

A Korean Conflict U.S. Army veteran, he was raised in the Baptist faith and received his education in the Ironton Schools.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Auxter Funeral Home, Bellevue. Interment will be in Bellevue cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Frank Navarro Sr.
General Dynamics retiree

Frank Navarro Sr., 70, of 208 Potter St., Fostoria, died at 4 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, in the Fostoria Community Hospital.

He was born May 20, 1930, in Fostoria, to the Rev. Raymond and Sylvia (Compos) Navarro. His wife, Enedina "Dina" (Torres) Navarro, whom he married Nov. 28, 1949, in Adrian, Mich., survives.

Survivors also include: three sons, Frank Jr., Richard R. and Michael Navarro, all of Fostoria; a daughter, Mrs. Ronny (Elizabeth) Ramsey of Fostoria; 28 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Manuel (Candelaria) Vallejo of Texas and Mrs. Alfredo (Librada) Amador of Adrian, Mich.

Mr. Navarro, a member of the Fostoria Assembly of God Church, retired in 1991 from General Dynamics in Lima. He had previously worked at the Fostoria Founday.

A U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict, he worked for Pinkerton Security at American Standard in Tiffin, after he retired.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, with Pastor Charles M. Jarvis officiating. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria, where military graveside services will be conducted by the United Veterans of Fostoria.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Gerald Paul Hahler
Retired farmer

Gerald Paul Hahler, 49, of Scottwood Road, Willard, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at his home.

He was born March 18, 1951, in Willard, to the late Gilbert and Florence (Brown) Hahler. His wife, Linda J. (Bogner) Hahler, whom he married April 23, 1971, survives.

Survivors also include: three daughters, Mrs. Shane (Lisa) Tipple and Mrs. Brian (Bridget) Falter, both of Tiffin, and Mrs. Phil (Mary) Bisignano of Republic; a son, Craig Hahler of Attica; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Roger Hahler of Attica; and a sister, Ann Bahnsen of Columbia, Tenn.

Mr. Hahler, a retired farmer, worked as a press operator at Bellevue Mfg. and also for Norwich Township.

He was a member of St. Sebastian's Catholic Church and the Bellevue Eagles.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Sebastian's Catholic Church, Bismark, with the Rev. John M. Nagele officiating. Burial will in in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. Friday in the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, 1295 W. Tiffin St., Attica, where the rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Glenn Junior Sowers
Retired tree service owner

Glenn Junior Sowers, 78, formerly of 300 E. Saffel Ave., Sycamore, died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at 274 Jackson St. in Tiffin. Arrangements are pending at the Walton Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore.

Bonita G. Howard
First Avenue homemaker

Bonita G. Howard, 61, 196 First Ave., died at 4:21 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, in the Autumnwood Care Center, where she had been a patient since Oct. 18.

She was born July 6, 1939, in New England, N.D., to the late George and Mercedith (Hummell) Braun. She was divorced.

Surviving are three sons, Kerry and Dale Howard, both of Sidney, Mont., and Robert Howard of Shelby, Mont.; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Cindy) Acree of Tiffin and Mrs. Kevin (Bonnie) Oakley of Emporia, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Wallace Braun of Savage, Mont.; and two sisters, Mrs. Rex (Joy) Churchill and Darlene Rhodes, both of Sidney, Mont.

Two brothers, Richard and Kerry Braun, an infant, also are deceased.

Mrs. Howard, a member of the Baptist faith, was a homemaker.

A Sidney, Mont., High School graduate, she had resided in Tiffin since 1996, coming here from Sidney.

The service will take place in Sidney and burial will be in Sidney cemetery. The Fulkerson Funeral Home, Sidney, is in charge of arrangements.

The Turner-Engle Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Ila Marie Rimelspach
Former Fremont resident

Ila Marie (Bartholomew) Rimelspach, 89, of Toledo, formerly of the Fremont area for the past 50 years, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, in Parkcliffe Community, Toledo.

She was born June 6, 1911, in Bucyrus, to Alexander Bartholomew and Frances F. Solze. On Aug. 2, 1937, in St. Ann's Church, Fremont, she married Norbert Joseph Rimelspach. He survives in Toledo.

Other survivors include: three sons, Jerry Rimelspach of South Bend, Ind., Ron Rimelspach of Toledo and Rick Rimelspach of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a daughter, Joann Torres of Napoleon; a sister, Rachael Wolfe of Fremont; six grandchildren, a step-grandchild and seven great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were four brothers, Admar, Dewey, Vaude and Claude; and three sisters, Icey, Lela and Mary.

Mrs. Rimelspach, a homemaker, also worked as a secretary for the Agricultural Adjustment Administration during the Great Depression, where she met her husband.

A graduate of York High School and Tiffin Business University, she served as a library assistant at Stamm School and as a Camp Fire leader at St. Ann's.

She was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons, University of Detroit Women's Guild and the Parents Club of Bowling Green State University.

Chaplain Hal Mills will be the officiant at the 10:30 a.m. Saturday service in the Wonderly-Horvath Funeral Home, Fremont. Interment will be in St. Joseph cemetery, Fremont.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, any reading group or the donor's choice.
