Emaline Stykemain
Toledo Autolite retiree

Emaline Stykemain, 94, formerly of Stickney Avenue, Toledo, died at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000, in St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.

She was born Dec. 8, 1905, in Henry County, to William and Almeda (Holmes) Stykemain.

Surviving are a sister, Erma Eggers of Napoleon and nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by four sisters, Ruth Fillhart, Alta Waltermeyer, Vera Louise Lee and Fernelia Copeland; and two brothers, Ortez and Robert Stykemain.

Miss Stykemain, a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, downtown Toledo and the North End Prayer Group, Toledo, retired in 1962 from Autolite, also of Toledo.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, where the rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Wendelin Parish cemetery.

Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Wednesday in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Memorials may be made to St. Wendelin Catholic Church or St. Joseph's Church, Toledo.

Monica E. Miller
Retired home health aide

Monica E. Miller, 82, of 574 Southwest St., Bellevue, died unexpectedly Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000, in Providence Hospital, Sandusky.

She was born June 15, 1918, in Bismark, to Edward and Eda (Goldsmith) Ruffing. On Dec. 1, 1951, in Winona, Minn., she married Richard J. Miller, who survives.

Other survivors include: three sons, Charles Shoup of Bloomville, Richard Miller of Castalia and David Miller of San Diego, Calif.; two daughters, Sharon Green of Castalia and Carolyn Reider of Oak Harbor; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Two sisters, Helen Schindley and Lucina Miller; and a brother, Cletus Ruffing, also are deceased.

Mrs. Miller, who worked at the former Bellevue G.E. Lamp Plant for more than 15 years, retired in 1980 as a home health aid in Sandusky.

A member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sandusky and the Immaculate Conception Church, Bellevue, she enjoyed quilting, embroidering, gardening and playing euchre.

The Rev. Robert Tucceri will be the officiant at the 11 a.m. Wednesday service in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Huron.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today in the Foos and Son Funeral Home, 311 W. Main St., Bellevue, where the rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m..

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Cecil Cornett
Retired logger

Cecil Cornett, 63, of 25 Christopher Drive, Fostoria, formerly of 235 Jefferson St., Tiffin, died at 6:11 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000, in the Emergency Room of Fostoria Community Hospital.

He was born Aug. 7, 1937, in Uz, Ky., to the late James Monroe and Ocie (Halcomb) Cornett. His wife, Marsha (Feasel) Cornett, whom he married July 28, 1962, in St. John United Church of Christ, Tiffin, survives.

Survivors also include: three sons, Todd and Cecil Patrick Cornett, both of Tiffin and Steve Cornett of Marion, Ind.; four daughters, Mrs. Richard (Jody Lynne) Sexton of Hallie, Ky., Sue and Erin Corrine Cornett, both of Tiffin and Mrs. Danny (Bobbi) Dixon of Marion, Ind.; five brothers, E.L., John and Ronnie Cornett, all of Tiffin and Jack and Ernie Cornett, both of Kentucky; six sisters, Nora Belle Cardwell, Norma Young and Kathy Company, all of Tiffin, Mary Lou Miller, Linda Reed and Judy Breeding, all of Kentucky; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Penney Elaine Cornett; and a brother, Dempsey Cornett, also preceded him in death.

Mr. Cornett was a self-employed logger.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Rock Creek cemetery.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today and 1-2 p.m. Wednesday in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to his family.

Betty J. Baldwin
Former factory employee

Betty J. Baldwin, 77, of 438 N. Fifth St., Upper Sandusky, died at 12:17 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000, in Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky.

She was born March 25, 1923, in Pitt Township, Wyandot County, to Theodore Lawrence and Bessie G. (Furrow) Barth. On July 29, 1945, in Upper Sandusky, she married Henry N. Baldwin, who preceded her in death March 5, 1987.

Survivors include: two sons, Daniel L. Baldwin of Galvinston, Texas and David A. Baldwin of Upper Sandusky; two daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Mary Jo) Henson of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Mrs. Daniel (Debra) Rall of Upper Sandusky; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Margie Donaugh of Upper Sandusky; and a brother, Bernard W. Barth of Nevada.

Two brothers, Gale and Eugene Barth, also are deceased.

Mrs. Baldwin, who attended Community Christian Church,Upper Sandusky, worked at Universal Molding for 12 years and Bond Plastics for 31 years, both of Upper Sandusky.

She enjoyed making baby blankets, knitting, people watching and gardening.

The Rev. Bill Williamson will conduct the 11 a.m. Friday memorial services in the Bringman Clark and Company Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky. Interment will be in Old Mission cemetery, Upper Sandusky.

Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. Friday until time of the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wyandot County or the Wyandot County Heart Support Group, in care of the Bringman Clark and Company Funeral Home, P.O. Box 246, Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.

Eugene Hull
Retired farmer

Eugene Hull, 77, of rural Tiffin, died at11:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, in the Valley View Health Care Center, Sandusky County, Fremont, where he had resided since Sept. 25.

He was born Jan. 5, 1923, in Fremont, to Willard and Fern (Mitchell) Hull. On Jan. 12, 1947, in Old Fort United Methodist Church, he married Beatrice Schaefer, who survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Jerry Hull of Old Fort and Richard Hull of rural Tiffin; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Ralph (Verna Mae) Gillmor of rural Fremont.

Mr. Hull, a retired farmer, was a member of Old Fort United Methodist Church.

A World War II veteran, having served in Japan as an Army paratrooper, he was a 1941 graduate of Old Fort High School.

A lifetime area resident. he also was a member of the Seneca County Farm Bureau and a charter member of the Old Fort Lion's Club.

The Rev. Jerry Wiles will be the officiant at the 10:30 a.m. Thursday service in the Engle-Young Funeral Home of Green Springs. Burial will be in Pleasant Union cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and one hour before the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Valley View Health Care Center or the church.

Paul F. Tiell Sr.
Retired painter

Paul F. Tiell Sr., 77, formerly of Tomb Street, died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000, in St. Francis Health Care Centre, Green Springs.

He was born Jan. 30, 1923, in Fostoria, to Richard and Anna (Calmes) Tiell. His wife, Margaret (Monaco) Tiell, whom he married Feb. 23, 1952, in Tiffin, died Feb. 18, 1983.

Surviving are two sons, Paul and Dennis Tiell, both of Tiffin; a daughter, Maryanne Gillispie of Tiffin; two brothers, Carl Tiell of Findlay and John Tiell of Fremont; five sisters, Mary Lou Betz and Donna Sikora, both of Tiffin, Mrs. John (Betty) Gilliland of Fostoria, Mrs. Ivan (Patricia) Laughl of Akron and Mrs. James (Norma Jean) Sherer of Texas; and three grandchildren.

Also preceding him in death were a brother, Larry Tiell; and a granddaughter.

Mr. Tiell, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, retired in 1989 as a painter for M J Brown, where he had been employed for 50 years.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Painters Local 788.

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Frank A. Murd as celebrant. The rosary will be recited at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to St. Francis Health Care Centre, Green Springs or the American Cancer Society.

Mirian E. (Stutzman) Schibler
Tiffin native

Word has been received of the death of Miriam E. (Stutzman) Schibler, 83, who died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, in Tampa, Fla.

Her husband, Lt. Col. John M. Schibler, preceded her in death.

A native of Tiffin, she attended Heidelberg College and graduated from the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing of Case Western University in Cleveland.

Upon retirement in Kansas City, Mo., she and her husband resided in Punta Gorda, Fla, where they were active in the Elks, the Peace River Power Squadron and the Kansas-Missouri Club.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Kays-Ponger/Royal Palm Funeral Home, Punta, Gorda Chapel. Interment will be in Royal Palm Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Wednesday.

Dean A. Miller
Product design manager

Dean A. Miller, 48, of Wichita, Kan., formerly of rural Berlin, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2000, at his home.

He was born Nov. 26, 1951, in Willard, Ohio, to Forrest and Evva (Bogart) MIller, who survive.

Survivors also include: two sisters, Joy Pooler of Mechanicsburg, Pa. and Gail Miller of Minneapolis, Minn.; a brother, Tim of Suamico, Wisc; two nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins.

A 1970 graduate of Berlin High School, he was a member of the BHS Band and the FFA. He received an associate degree from the Tulsa School of Aeronautics and later received a degree in engineering from the University of Kansas.

He was employed as a product design manager for Raytheon Aircraft Corp., where he was a member of the design team and in charge of product support in the development of the company's new corporate jet, "Premier."

He was an active member of Lincoln Baptist Church, Wichita; worked with and helped young people; designed, built and flew sail planes and enjoyed motorcycling, competitive shooting with a friend and hunting with his brother.

Services were Nov. 22 in the Barbola Funeral Chapel, 282 E. Marquette St., Berlin, Wisc. 54923, with the Rev. Doug Hanback officiating. Interment was in Eureka cemetery, Rushford.

A memorial has been established in his memory.

Thomas Merton Gray
Gray Printing Co. chairman

Thomas Merton Gray, 72, of 3055 Fostoria Road, Fostoria, died at 6:27 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000, in Fostoria Community Hospital.

He was born April 4, 1928, in Tiffin, to the late A. Gordon and Clara (Wertz) Gray. His wife, Nancy Ellen (Cameron) Gray, whom he married Sept. 25, 1954, in the First Presbyterian Church, Fostoria, survives in Fostoria.

Other survivors include: a son, Gordon Thomas Gray of Scarborough, Maine; three daughters, Mrs. Morton (Teresa E.) Hansen of Fostoria, Mrs. Matt (Lisa J.) Fisher of Westerville and Mrs. Brian (L. Cameron) Winter of Avon Lake; a brother, George A. Gray of Fostoria; and seven grandchildren.

A brother, James Gordon Gray; and a sister, Jane Gray-Stone, prececed him in death.

Mr. Gray, past president of the Geary Family YMCA, Fostoria, retired in 1994 as chairman of the Gray Printing Co. in Fostoria, after 42 years of service.

A 1946 graduate of Culver Military Academy, Culver, Ind. and a 1950 graduate of The College of Wooster, he served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder and sang in the choir; Masonic Lodge 288 Free and Accepted Mason, Fostoria Shrine Club, the Valley Creek Lodge, the University Club, Power Squadron, the Fostoria Country Club, Fostoria Area Republican Club and the Rotary Club, where he served as past president, all of Fostoria.

He also was a member of the Catawba Island Club and the Scottish Rite, Valley of Toledo and Zenobia Shrine, both of Toledo.

The Rev. R. Edson Reed will be the officiant at the 11 a.m. Friday service in the First Presbyterian Church.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, where Masonic memorial services will be at 7 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Fostoria Area Community Foundation or the church.

Patsy S. Walter-Valentine
Homemaker/home health care worker

Patsy S. Walter-Valentine, 42 of 4729 CH 35, Sycamore, died early Monday morning, Nov. 27, 2000, at the Howard Collier Scenic River Area, Tiffin.

She was born Dec. 16, 1957, in Bucyrus, to Byron H. and Maxine L. (Pritchard) Snyder. They survive in rural Sycamore. In 1973, she married Jerry Walter and they were later divorced. In 1989, she married Brad E. Valentine, who survives.

Survivors also include: five children, Heather R. Walter of rural Sycamore, Heidi E. Walter Webster of Adrian, Ohio, J.R. Walter Jr. of Dayton, Patience A. Walter of Bucyrus and Christopher A. Walter of Carey; two step-children, Mrs. Donn (Christy) Pahl of rural Sycamore and Mrs. Mark (Danielle) Murphy of Columbus; 10 grandchildren; three brothers, Jerry Snyder of Michigan, Paul Snyder of rural Sycamore and David Snyder of West Virginia; and a sister, Mrs. Jack (Mary) Leib of Norwalk.

A homemaker, Mrs. Valentine also worked in home health care.

She was a member of Sycamore United Methodist Church, and enjoyed shopping and babysitting her grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, with the Rev. Kelly Paul Brown officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the family, in care of the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, 201 W. Saffel Ave., Sycamore, Ohio 44882-0356.

Eva Elizabeth Tucker
Ford Motor Co. retiree

Eva Elizabeth Tucker, 94, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at her home on Fairhome Avenue, Clyde.

She was born June 19, 1906, in Indiana, to Fred and Ada Pearl (McClain) Winslow. Her husband, Ray Tucker preceded her in death in 1976.

Surviving are a son, Roy Halsey of Fairfield; two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Gloria) Gayheart of Alabama and Norma Lairson of Clyde; 34 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Raymond Winslow of Indiana.

She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Esther Dibble; a brother, Paul Winslow; and three sisters, Edith, Ruth and Helen.

Mrs. Tucker, who enjoyed knitting and union activities, retired in 1974 from the Ford Motor Co., Sandusky.

She was a member of the Ford Retirees, where she served as past president, the UAW, Sandusky and was the recipient of the Women of the Month in June 1995 from the UAW International.

She was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star, Clyde.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Foos-Klein Funeral Home, Clyde. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.

Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the family in attendance from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and 11 a.m. Saturday until time of the service.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Memorial Hospital, Clyde.
