Former Tiffin resident's husband

Word has been received of the death of Carl Schwartz, 73, of Toledo, who died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2000, in Flower Hospital, Toledo.

Surviving are his wife, Jean (Hoffman) Schwartz of Toledo, formerly of Tiffin; five children and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. today in the Foth-Dorfmeyer Funeral Home, Toledo, where the service will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Renae Ann McKee
Infant daughter

Renae Ann McKee, infant daughter of Berry and Heidi (Fredritz) McKee of Carey, died at 11:09 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, where she was born the same day.

Survivors include her parents; maternal grandparents, Raymond and Darlene Fredritz of Upper Sandusky and Nancy Fredritz of Carey; paternal grandparents, Robert and Bonnie McKee of Carey; maternal great-grandparents, Harry and Betty Snook of Carey and Mr. and Mrs. William Fredritz of rural Carey; and paternal great-grandparents, Kenneth and Georgia McKee of Upper Sandusky and John and Rebecca Serin of Vanlue.

Pastor Norman Nethers will be the officiant at the 10 a.m. Wednesday service in the Beach Funeral Home of Carey. Burial will be in McCutchenville cemetery.

Visitation is 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Beth Ann Manges
Sister of Tiffin resident

Word has been received of the death of Beth Ann Manges, 14, of 11741 TR 10, Findlay, who died of natural causes at 8:40 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, in Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.

She was born July 29, 1986, in Upper Sandusky, to James C. and Darlene (Barger) Manges, who survive in Findlay.

Other survivors include: a brother, Benjamin J. Manges of rural Findlay; and two sisters, Christine S. Scott of Tiffin and Sarah G. May of Findlay.

Also deceased are three siblings: James J., Cynthia A. and Ruth A. Manges.

She was a member of Abiding by Faith Assembly Church, North Baltimore, formerly attended Carden Basic School in Findlay and Arlington Elementary School.

Services were Dec. 12 in the Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay, with the Rev. Michael Greene officiating. Burial was in Ebenezer cemetery, Bluffton.

Francis Eugene Russell
Retired insurance agent

Francis Eugene Russell, 98, formerly of 527 S. Sandusky St., died at 12:05 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, 2000, in St. Francis Nursing Home, where he resided.

He was born April 19, 1902, in Tiffin, to Frank and Estella (Reimer) Russell. On Nov. 29, 1947, in St. Aloysius Church, Cleveland, he married Kathryn Mary Fritzpatrick, who died Sept. 13, 1998.

Surviving are a son, Robert J. Russell of Bowling Green; a sister, Helen Wolf of Tiffin; and three grandchildren.

Two brothers, Louis and Bertram; and two sisters, Martha and Mary Alice, also are deceased.

Mr. Russell, a 1920 graduate of Columbian High School and a 1921 graduate of Tiffin University, was employed as an independent insurance man. He had been a former partner with the former Russell Inc. Agency since 1928, retiring in 1967 from the United Insurance Service.

He received the Tiffin University Outstanding Alumnus Citation in 1972; was a former member of the Tiffin Planning Commission and Tiffin Zoning Board of Appeals in 1975; member of Calvert Educational Foundation Board of Trustees in 1977 and member of Tiffin's First Charter Commission.

In June 1979, he was elected as a member of the Charter Review Commission and also was a member of the building committee of St. Francis Lay Advisory Board.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, where he served as former councilman and member of its Holy Name Society; Tiffin Eagles 402, where he served as past president; Tiffin Council 608 Knights of Columbus and Archbishop Schrembs General Assembly Fourth Degree (twice faithful navigator); Tiffin Elks Lodge 94; and St. Francis Lay Advisory Board, where he was a former president.

Mr. Russell served as former director of Tiffin United Way and was a former member of the Independent Insurance Agents of Tiffin, where he served as president and secretary; a former member of the Board of Education of Calvert High School.

He also was a member of the Election Board; served as a committeeman for Precinct F, Third Ward; was a former Seneca County Chairman for the National Federation of Independent Business; and a former member of Tiffin Chamber of Commerce.

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Frank A. Murd as celebrant. The rosary will be at 9:45 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, where Knights of Columbus honor guard will stand in attendance 7-9 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Calvert Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.

Carla R. Mead
Tiffin native

Carla R. Mead, 43, of 619 S. Sandusky St., Bucyrus, died at 4:11 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, 2000, in the Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus, after an illness of several months.

She was born Sept. 18, 1957, in Tiffin, to Daniel and Hazel (Perry) Feight. Her father survives in Bucyrus. Her husband, Brian R. Mead, whom she married June 18, 1988, survives.

Survivors also include: four sons, Jonathan Feight and Andy, Terry and Melvin Mead, all at home; a brother, Ernest "Buddy" Feight of Bucyrus; and two sisters, Charlotte Wickham of Carey and Mrs. Phil (Wilma) Rice of Marion.

Her mother is deceased.

Mrs. Mead, a homemaker, was an avid bingo player and enjoyed plastic canvas crafts

The Rev. Clarence Mullins of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Fostoria, will conduct the 11 a.m. Thursday service in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home, Bucyrus. Burial will be in Crawford County Memory Gardens, Crestline.

Visitation will be Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends and relatives 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, in care of the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home, 215 N. Walnut St., Bucyrus, Ohio 44820.

Joan M. Kramer
Wagner Agency retiree

Joan M. Kramer, 75, 55 Spring Lane, died at 7:32 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18, 2000, in St. Francis Home.

She was born Nov. 7, 1925, in Tiffin, to Richard J. and Anna L. (Ferstler) Borer. On Oct. 9, 1948, in St. Joseph Church, Tiffin, she married William F. Kramer, who died May 10, 1991.

Survivors include: two sons, James Kramer of Maumee and Thomas Kramer of Tiffin; a daughter, Mrs. James (Anne Kramer) Clifford of Branden, Fla.; eight grandchldren and a great-granddaughter.

Mrs. Kramer, a 1943 Calvert High School graduate, was employed as a bookkeeper for the Fred Wagner Agency from 1943-82.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, its Rosary Altar Society, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, St. Francis Home Auxiliary, Mercy Hospital Auxiliary and the Catholic Ladies Bowling League.

She served as a volunteer at both Mercy Hospital of Tiffin and St. Joseph School cafeteria.

The Rev. Msgr. Edward Dunn will be the celebrant at the 10:30 a.m. Thursday funeral Mass in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The rosary will be recited at 10:15 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation is 1-4 p.m. today in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care, St. Francis Home, Calvert High School Foundation or the donor's choice.

Lewis S. Bell
Retired grain/dairy farmer

Lewis S. Bell, 89, of CH 77 Marseilles Township, Harpster, died at 6:35 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, 2000, in Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton.

He was born Dec. 17, 1911, in Marseilles Township, Wyandot County, to Merle O. and Emma B. (Naus) Bell. His wife, Mary Jane (Hickman) Bell, whom he married June 26, 1940, survives.

Other survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. William (Ann) Field of Marseilles Township, LaRue; a son, J. Thomas Bell of Arlington; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Bell of Wharton and Clyde Bell of Upper Sandusky; and two sisters, Lucille Johnson of Forest and Clarice Wagner of Findlay.

Also deceased are two sisters, Lena Clark and Thelma Haner; and two brothers, Chester and Darwin Bell.

Mr. Bell, a retired life-long Marseilles Township grain and dairy farmer, was a 1931 graduate of Marseilles High School. He attended Marion Business College.

He was a member of Marseilles United Methodist Church, where he served as a Sunday School superintendent, teacher and lay speaker.

He also served on the Wyandot County Council for Week Day Religious Education Board; served on the Upper Sandusky School Board of Education for 12 years; and on the Wyandot County Cancer Society Board of Directors. He also was a former Marseilles Township Trustee.

He enjoyed all sports, traveling and driving black Mercury cars and bowled on several bowling leagues.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Bringman-Clark and Company Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Kevin Pees officiating. Interment will be in Chandler cemetery, Marseilles.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the church or the Alzheimer's Wing at Fairhaven Home, in care of the Bringman-Clark and Company Funeral Home, P.O. Box 246, Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.

Glenn E. 'Skip' Limes
Staff Sgt. U.S. Army-retired

Glenn E. "Skip" Limes, 67, of North Main Street, Fostoria, died at 10:10 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, in Heartland of Perrysburg.

He was born April 7, 1933, in Toledo, to the late Cloyce and Dorothy (Benton) Limes.

Surviving are: a brother, Lloyd Limes of Palm Springs, Calif.; four sisters, Mary Hampshire of Fostoria, Dorothy Sniegowski and Emma Jean Spratt, both of Toledo and Wilma Bailey of National City, Calif.

Mr. Limes retired in 1973 as a Staff Sergeant from the U.S. Army, after 23 years of service.

The Rev. Donald Goodwin will conduct the private graveside service in Chestnut Grove cemetery, near Bradner.

There will be no visitation. The Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Gladys Mary Martin
Atlas Corp. retiree

Miss Gladys Mary Martin, 94, formerly of 284 W. 4th St., Fostoria, died at 10:30 p.m. Monday in the Independence House, Fostoria.

She was born Dec. 1, 1906, in Fostoria, to Joseph and Helena (Seimet) Martin.

Survivors include four nieces, Loretta Ball of Herrin, Ill., Dorothy Cole and Helene Bockoff, both of Sarasota, Fla. and Rosemary Lannen of Port Clinton.

Also deceased are two sisters, Adeline Huth and Cora Brickner; two brothers, Robert and Homer Martin; and a niece.

Miss Martin, a 1925 graduate of St. Wendelin High School, had been employed at the City Loan Co. and later at the Atlas Corp., both of Fostoria, retiring in 1972.

She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, its Rosary Altar Society, and the Fostoria Historical Society.

A Mass of Christian Burial is at 10:30 a.m. today in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, where the rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to the church or Fostoria Historical Society, in care of the Hoening Funeral Home, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, OH 44830, who are in charge of arrangements.

Violet B. Davis
Homemaker

Violet B. Davis, 87, died at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, in the Independence House, Fostoria. Arrangements are pending at the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Dorothy M. Hohman
Fostoria homemaker

Dorothy M. Hohman, 84, of 315 Anderson Ave., Fostoria, died at 4:25 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, in Fostoria Community Hospital.

She was born March 16, 1916, in Fostoria, to Geuy and Hattie (Mills) Munro. On April 12, 1942, in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, she married Arthur P. Hohman, who died June 14, 1983.

Surviving are six sons, George, Charles, Anthony Sr. and Patrick Hohman, all of Fostoria and Timothy Vernon and Daryl Hohman, address unknown; five daughters, Joan Hohman, Mrs. John (Patty) Perry and Denise Ruth Hohman, all of Fostoria; and Barbara Ann and Laura Elizabeth Hohman, address unknown; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, Robert and Lee Munro, also are deceased.

Mrs. Hohman, a homemaker, was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church. The rosary will be prayed at the church at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a Christian wake service will be at 8:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to The Hohman Memorial, in care of Area Agency on Aging, P.O. Box 1978, Mansfield, OH 44901.

Wilma Elaine Wilkerson
Retired school teacher

Wilma Elaine Wilkerson, 86, of Spring Street, Clyde, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, in the Arbors of Clyde.

She was born April 11, 1914, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, to William and Goldie (Leininger) Prysock. Her husband, William Wilkerson, also is deceased.

Survivors include: three children, Mrs. Richard (Susan) Pesnell and Robert Wilkerson, both of Clyde and Sara Henninger of Garden Grove, Calif.; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A brother, Harry Prysock; and a sister, Pauline Cable, are also deceased.

Mrs. Wilkerson, a teacher for 29 years, taught at York School in Ohio and in Missouri and Michigan.

She graduated from Toronto High School and Kent State University.

Formerly of Michigan, she had resided in the Clyde since 1957.

The Rev. Richard Studebaker will be the officiant at the 4 p.m. Thursday service in the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde. Interment will be in McPherson cemetery, Clyde.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to McPherson Middle School, Vine Street, Clyde, OH 43410.
